Trouble TTC

Re-introducing Myself

Hi all! I was a fairly active member on the TTGP board last year, but after some soul searching decided to take a step back. The whole TTC process became quite difficult for me to deal with. I found myself googling symptoms over and over again, becoming more and more obsessed. So for my mental health, I left TB (and Dr. Google) for a while. After quite a lot of time away, I would like to be a part of the community again and offer the support I can, if you'll have me

A little background on me, DH and I were diagnosed with unexplained sub-fertility earlier this year. We decided to try naturally for a few months. Unfortunately, that did not work so in August we decided to proceed with IVF. I had my bloodwork updated and have a meeting this week with the RE to go over the whole process. I am happy to have a plan, even though it wasn't what we had originally envisioned for us.

Non-TTC information: I am 31 and DH is 36 and we live in Canada. We have one "fluffy" tortoise shell cat named Ada and a very furry pupper named Ellie who is the happiest little husky mix you will ever meet. I am a huge fan of British TV, often binging Cats Does Countdown and QI in the evenings while knitting. I am currently working on leg warmers for a cousin-in-law because Christmas is approaching more quickly than I'd like. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone! <3

  • Hello @meri-mac. Welcome to our group! Hope we can help you on your next stage of this journey and provide a safe place to vent, chat and just "be". I just tried for an ER and had to switch down to an IUI instead. So I've been at this stage you're at too, coming to grips with the reality of things not looking how you pictured and all the emotions and even anxiety of the unknown. See you in the weekly thread!

  • Welcome @meri-mac
I’ve been TTC for about 2 years and am heading towards IVF. My Dr wanted me to try one more IUI cycle last month but we had a bit of a hiccup so trying IUI again this cycle then making a decision about IVF. Luckily for me @hithertorue and @inthewoods23 are amazing and have helped answer all my questions as I head towards IVF! I’m sure you’ll enjoy having this group as a place to ask questions and just vent/chat with people who really get it.
