  • Just curious, has anyone asked their doctor about getting the flu shot while TTC? I have to either get it or decline by I think 10/31 because I work in health care. I have an appt coming up and plan to ask, but was just curious if others have already asked and what the answer was.
  • @chaos-and-coffee I would just go somewhere that has the preservative-free or whatever version that pregnant people get. I’m glad you pointed that out though because I want to get mine soon. The flu is already making its rounds here
  • @chaos-and-coffee Thanks for the reminder! We have it at work, should confirm it's coming in this year. I also have to convince MH he has to do it too. He actually did get the flu last year, so I've got a strong argument lol.

  • @chaos-and-coffee I called my RE last week to ask and they said get the shot, getting the flu would be worse. I found conflicting stuff online, so wanted to double check before getting mine last week!
  • Also, what's up with that girl activating all those old threads on 1st tri today? Weird...

  • @b_1029 What'd she say?! Ahhhhhhh!
  • Crazy @b_1029!! That's too much to process!!
  • Wow, @b_1029 that's quite a lot to unpack! That's awesome that she reached out, though. It's good to know that they seem open to some conversations.
  • @b_1029 Wow, that’s heavy. As if you don’t have enough going on. How are you feeling about this?
  • @b_1029 - wow that's amazing! I'm so glad she contacted you so you don't have to wonder whether you should. That's great that there's the possibility of a conversation with him!
  • @b_1029 FWIW I have some crazy family members, both mentally ill and just plain nuts, but I think I’m pretty normal. I keep in touch with some extended family members but not with their parents and so on. If you want to find out more, I’d do it.

  • @inthewoods23 thanks! And yea, who knows the whole story. Plus they were like 15 + 17 or 18 when I was born, so a lot could’ve changed. It’ll be interesting to see what he says once I figure out what to say in an email.
  • @b_1029 Wow that is crazy!!! I'm glad it's not a big secret or anything! I think you deserve the chance to make your own judgement about him, so I'm glad you have the chance to email him!

  • @mvt2003 Me too! I flip the switch on October 1. I got mums this year and put up our light up trees outside for the first time in 3 years. I also bought 10 pairs of Halloween socks to reward the top 10 reading loggers in my class. Haha...

  • @saladflambe please share some gems for our entertainment

@kpearse99 I need that water bottle! I’m so bad about drinking water!
  • @b_1029 here's one (copy/pasted to protect privacy lol)... TW for being gross.

"I’ve heard of ladies trying to keep semen in as long as possible when trying to conceive. I do lay down for a few minutes after sex but it will come out when I go potty shortly after. I also try to go pee within half an hour to avoid getting a bladder infection. I’ve heard some ladies put menstrual cups to hold the semen in. Any experience with this?
Is the theory that the semen staying inside longer will stick around longer for the egg? I just figured once it’s in there the sperm should be able to get to the egg if the egg is present."

    ....nooooOooOoOoo please don't do that!
