Re: FTM Check-in October
What are you looking forward/concerned about regarding adding to your family? I am so excited to see my husband with the baby. He is already so adorable about it and such a good daddy. I am worried about how lack of sleep in the early days is going to impact our coping ability. I am a complete bear when I am tired and MH starts feeling super sick, so it should be interesting.
Rants/Raves: Raves-I love feeling all the kicks, punches, and movement and that MH is finally starting to feel them more regularly.
Rants - pregnancy mood swings are a b!tch. I thought I had missed that boat, but apparently when life got busy they became a thing.
Questions:
GTKY: What element/s of pop culture will be forever tied in your mind to your childhood? Spice Girls and pogs for young childhood. Pirates of the Caribbean and JT's song SexyBack for high school. I was never big into JT, but that song brings me right back in all the best ways.

Looking forward to DH growing into the Dad role. He is so great with his nieces, and he dotes on our dog like no other. He's a natural!
Concerned about the challenges that come with being a parent. Lack of sleep and experience in the early months. Keeping up with them when they become mobile. Juggling work and responsibilities along the way.
Rants/Raves: Lacking motivation in my free time to clear out the second bedroom for baby. It will probably take an entire day. Also need to figure out daycare and start our registry. Lots to do!!
Questions:
GTKY: What element/s of pop culture will be forever tied in your mind to your childhood? Kidsongs VHS tapes, Nickelodeon, Number Munchers and Oregon Trail on the OLD Apple computers, Babysitters Club books, I Spy books, Super Nintendo and Gameboy, Lisa Frank, American Girl dolls (the original ones, where there were like 6 historical characters to choose from.) Aaahh, feeling so nostalgic right now!
What are you looking forward/concerned about regarding adding to your family? I’m just so excited that we are finally having a baby and can’t wait to watch her grow!
Rants/Raves: The housing market sucks and I’m feeling defeated that we won’t find something before the new year. Also kind of bummed that DH refuses to try and feel for baby anymore because he wasn’t able to feel her move around the times he tried. He says he gets so frustrated because he wants to feel baby move but it’s like you got to keep trying 🙄.
Questions: Not right now!
GTKY: What element/s of pop culture will be forever tied in your mind to your childhood? Hmm pretty much everything you guys listed already but I think it’s cool we lived in an era where we had dial up, floppy disks, and flip phones.

@brookert615 My husband was in the same boat. Then last night while he was cooking supper the baby was moving around like crazy so I kept "forcing" him to stand with his hand on my stomach and he sighed at me. At that point I reminded him that he was the one getting frustrated over not feeling baby move and he settled down and got to feel some kicks and wiggles. So keep trying and maybe even just force him to sit still for a bit when you feel your LO moving.

What are you looking forward/concerned about regarding adding to your family?
Looking forward to: pretty much everything! Watching MH transition from a cat dad to a baby dad (he treats our cat like a baby as is, and it's adorable). Baby will be the first grandchild on his side and they're all so excited!
Concerns: financial things aside, I'm a little worried about making sure the cat doesn't feel neglected or her developing some behavioral thing. She's super mellow as is and she's only really hissed at either of us once because she got stuck on a wicker laundry basket and panicked when I tried to help her get her claw unstuck.
Rants/Raves:
Rant: Beginning to definitely thing the first movement I felt was totally in a dream. I haven't felt anything since then.
Raves: It's babies all day every day at work now! It's a lot of fun to have TWO pregnancy buddies on my team in the office! haha
Questions:
(Edited) Just remembered my question! I was looking at baby pictures of H and I the other day and I wondered who baby might favor! H is literally the spitting image of his dad, only like 6" taller haha. MIL showed me their wedding album when we were out there for our wedding and I had to do a double take. I definitely think if it's a boy it will take after him with those genetics! lol
Any guesses as to who your babies might look more like?

What are you looking forward/concerned about regarding adding to your family?
I am both excited and nervous about just how drastic of a change it will be. I can't wait to hold my child in my arms and love on it. I also am terrified that I will go completely grey from the stress of the first few months.
Rants/Raves:
Rant: Sneeze and pee. Pantyliners are my newest favorite product.
Raves: My FIL rubbed my belly! It was a complete shock coming from him since he is in no way touchy-feely, and this was the first time he even had expressed interest in baby.
Questions:
None that I can really think of that haven't been answered in other threads.

N'Sync and Backstreet Boys for sure. Also, playing Oregon Trail during computer te er class is a classic.
