  • lol idk how much of a confession this is, but when ice from our freezer melts into water, it leaves behind these little bits of mineral deposits, and they are skeeving me out lately. I feel like a princess being like "ew" over something sooooo tiny that I... never noticed before. But I just dug one out of my current water with a knife. Gross.
  • @stassischroeder Velveeta and salsa mixed to make queso dip with tortilla chips is my jam, lol.  I grew up eating that with my family when we'd watch movies together.

  • @kailanae I knew someone was going to mention queso dip! LOL. My response is that you can make better queso with real cheese, but I understand that using velveeta can be easier.

  • @stassischroeder totally agree but sometimes I completely crave the taste of velveeta Mac and cheese. Or grilled cheese with American Cheese. Probably because I was never allowed that stuff as a kid so it was always a treat when I got it. Lol
  • I had Chick Fil A twice this week, and I really want more.
  • @momoftoddlers I had Chick Fil A and Krispy Cream yesterday!!! Best of both worlds and I have no regrets lol
  • @varimama No shame in your game! I peed in bushes well into my 20s walking home from bars. I guess I have a weak bladder?

@stassischroeder I agree that real cheese is superior to fake cheese, but I 100% support Velveeta for queso and nostalgia purposes.

My FFFC a few weeks back was about Chick-fil-a! I feel like mine opinion is doubly controversial because (a) I think their chicken is just "meh" and (b) I absolutely will not support that company with all they've done to promote and fund anti LGBTQ groups and legislation. I feel the same way about Hobby Lobby.

@dunder_mifflin Keep one outfit she bought and send pics in that and exchange the rest for stuff you do like. Your baby, your style! But do thank her graciously because at least she tried.
  • @stassischroeder I only eat those “cheeses” for queso... and sometimes grilled cheese.

@dunder_mifflin I also hate clothes like that! When people have bought stuff like that, I’ve kept them as backup outfits or when we’re staying at home 🤣 Or if you haven’t used them, you could always switch them out for what you like and hope they forget.

@keeksie84 I also no longer eat at Chick-Fil-A, even though there’s one 3 minutes from my house. They’re not getting my money.

  • @momoftoddlers and @mrsvp614 yes that was my plan! Problem is my niece works for a baby clothing store so no gift receipts for me and also means a lot of volume! It will be fine :)
  • @dunder_mifflin oof I would maybe casually mention in front of SIL that you prefer basic clothing without wording. If your niece works for a baby clothing store, the excessive clothing items won’t stop, but maybe u can at least start getting ones that you’ll actually let the baby wear.

  • Confession: we aren’t 100% sure baby is a girl (the doc at our ultrasound said she was “right 98% of the time” but I’m still skeptical) but I still took advantage of Tea’s sale yesterday to buy baby some rompers for next summer that match a couple of DD’s dresses. Really excited for sister matches!
  • @kantobean My girls are 2 and 4 and I get ridiculous joy from putting them in matching outfits. Some of my family thinks I’m crazy but right now they are little and they think it’s so fun!
  • @momoftoddlers and @kantobean ermmergerrsh matching sibling outfits are so cute! My sister and I were often put in matching outfits and my cousin has two boys, they are always dressed in matching outfits and it’s so freaking cute I can’t handle it. I’m all for it!
  • Yay! My kids will be four years apart so I know sister matches will be short lived, but a girl’s gotta try! Haha
  • chiming in late here, but @dunder_mifflin you don't sound ungrateful! I totally get it. I'm just as picky about things my kids wear, and essentially refuse to dress them in anything with words - or anything I don't like for that matter. I will be gracious to the gift-giver, but it will be donated. I find it hilarious that your SIL bothered to ask if you'll be dressing her in pink and then disregarded everything you said or sent her for inspiration  :D I know people mean well, but its your baby! My step-mom has purchased a TON of clothes for DS and I'm sure she'll buy a ton for this baby; but, to her credit, she made an effort to learn what I like to dress DS in, and most of what she bought was perfect.

  • @stassischroeder your MIL sounds reasonable! Haha that’s what I was hoping for from SIL but I guess I’ll get what I get and then just have to pretend she wore them and donate or give away 😂 The whole situation is kind of funny though, I have to admit
