If you’ve gotten a great haircut and a terrible haircut at the same place (by different people but you don’t remember who gave the great one 2 years ago or if they’re even still employed there), do you ask them to try to fix it, or just burn that bridge and go elsewhere?

I drive 35 minutes to see her and even skip / wait for cuts if she isn’t available. @begging4abump been cutting my own hair for 3 years now. Trying to save money. I think an appropriate tip would be about 20% and if it got messed up I would go back to get it fixed for sure. Years ago I got a perm that didn't take and had to go back because I looked ridiculous.
@begging4abump Tip wise I would agree with ~20% if you are happy with your hair. Less if they messed it up of course. I always make sure to tip the assistants too who usually wash out my hair, just a few bucks. I would absolutely go back and tell them to fix your hair. The sooner you go the better. Just explain what happened and how someone else cut your hair there a while back so you were excited to return and blah blah blah... but you can't remember who it was. The salon should want you to be happy with your hair and spread a good word. My sister is a hairstylist so I only see her. Good luck with your hair!!

@begging4abump Agree with 20%, I always tip my hair person very well, mostly because I'm a big job - I have a TON of hair and I don't go as often as I should I would also just burn the bridge.
Also full disclosure I am currently putting off getting my hair cut and colored because I go to the same stylist as my SiL and *TW* she always spends the whole time talking about LOs, specifically my niece and nephew, and always asks me (nicely) if I'm planning on having LOs of my own. *end TW*

@begging4abump I believe most places say you can come back within a week of you're not happy with your cut. I would say after that if they don't do a good job fixing it then go elsewhere.
