@kpearse99 haha I’m glad I could make you laugh! I’m taking the letrozole now (day 3) and will have my monitoring appointment next Monday. I saw in your WTO update that you feel like you’re going to start AF soon- yay! We won’t be far apart! Did your RE give any insight into what’s going on? Also, thank you ❤️
@kpearse99 thanks friend! 💜 I hope both of our waiting periods are over soon!!
@mvt2003 so sorry you are to the point of needing to make an appt, but good for you on making the call! They’ll most likely just discuss what you have been doing and do some BW like others have said. Hope all goes well at the appointment and you feel good about the plan!
@shoogapoff that’s great news! Fingers crossed for even better news on Monday!!
@hanshotfirst77@mokay19@mercury94 thanks so much ladies! Definitely sounds like it can be all over the place. That’s good to know that I’m not totally out of the window of possibility at this point for it to work though. It took 4 days & 8 days with Provera for me before, but this is my first time taking Prometrium. I think I’ll give my RE a call to see if I should wait longer or maybe get a second dose. Hopefully AF is just taking her sweet time to arrive and I won’t need another dose! May hold off a few more days to take it even if that’s what they suggest...would rather not take another 10 days of it if I can keep from it!
@b_1029 not yet - I only saw the nurse who took my blood, so she'll call me this afternoon (in about an hour or so) with those results and said that they will tell us exactly what we need to know.

Oh dear, I let this thread get away from me again while I lurked so now I'm going to try to play catch-up.
Diagnosis (if you've been): PCOS, some MFI
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): letrozole + trigger + IUI + progesterone
How are things going?: Other than the fact that I'm a hormonal psycho and I had a rough start to the cycle, pretty good I think. I feel like the progesterone is really affecting me this month, last time I didn't feel any different. This time I feel like I have a personality disorder and I never know who or what is going to come out when I react to anything. Last week I was a raging bitch, this week I'm a little weepy. God help MH if I ever get to experience actual pregnancy hormones, holy cannoli.
Any questions?: Nope.
GTKY: What’s one of the funniest things that’s ever happened to you/that you’ve been involved in? Seems like everyone is struggling with this one. I've had a lot of belly-aching-rolling-on-the-floor kind of laughs but they're usually over something stupid. One of the most memorable laughing fits we've had in recent history is teaching my mom and aunts how to play Cards Against Humanity at the cottage a few years ago. I have videos of my Aunt reading out some of the answers, and our subsequent explanations of what some of the things were. I can still her her cackling laughter over it. We also have a lot of fun tormenting my mom. She was sworn to secrecy after we got engaged so we could tell key people ourselves, but I knew she would see a lot of her friends the next day so I had one of them call her to try to get it out of her. He kept asking what she did the night before (MH proposed in an Escape Room and had a big elaborate scheme worked out with my cousins to surprise me... my mom was the only other person who didn't know going into it). He tried everything he could think of to try to get her to spill the beans on what else happened at the escape room and she didn't crack. I have the video of us calling her on speaker phone and me finally telling her that they knew all along. We had a good laugh over that.

@kiki047 I have a good Cards Against Humanity story with my mom. She played it for the first time when we played with my cousins - oh and my grandpa totally played too and it was so weird to have much older adults playing but anyways... So my mom played the card tentacle porn in a round. I don't remember at all what the black card was that we were playing to, but my mom didn't win the round and she's like "but tentacle porn! How could you not pick tentacle porn!?". We were all DYING because it's not something you'd think you'd ever hear from your own mom.

@hanshotfirst77 double hugs for you, one for your belated birthday and another for the anniversary that has come and gone. But that's great news that your sono came back clear and you can get the FET on the road! @shoogapoff good news about your progesterone levels. FX for your beta! We're beta buddies, I also go in Monday. And you're definitely not the only one that struggles to ask questions at the RE's. Mine is great and easy to talk to but sometimes I feel like he can be a touch dismissive and when I feel like he's trying to shut me down I just back off too easily. Like when I always ask for MH's morph % when he gives us our SA results, usually he gives me the shpeal about how morph doesn't necessarily mean anything and blah blah blah... then never ends up giving me the # and I don't put my foot down and ask for it anyway. Wahh. @kpearse99 when will you have the results of your BW back from this morning? FX you get some answers! @nitnat007 glad to hear things are hopefully going to settle down for you soon. Sounds like a really eventful couple of weeks. Which reminds me, how's your FIL doing? @misshelen86 Happy anniversary! Glad you had a nice weekend. Any news on how your friend's sister is doing? @jennifer_louise oh friend, I'm so sorry you had a tough weekend. Sending you so many hugs. Is this upcoming work trip the Morocco one? I hope you get to see some of the amazing sights while you're there and can still enjoy it even though it feels like you're basically benched because of it. Funny story I heard this weekend at a party - someone was saying that their friend's girlfriend wanted to go to Monaco so badly and they finally booked something for their next vacation. When they went to check the flight details he was like "Babe, what airport are we flying into?" and she said "I dunno, somewhere in Monaco". Yeah, she booked a flight to Morocco, not Monaco. Boy was she disappointed she wasn't going to get to see all the fast cars and casinos. @b_1029 yesterday's drive-by was really triggering for me too, which is the main reason I didn't do my check-in or lurk as much as I usually do. Ugh. @inthewoods23 I am so, so sorry for your BFN. I hope your little Embaby is still getting snuggly and cozy in there and you get some good news when you go for your beta. YH is the absolute cutest for all his little motivational posters, that made my heart happy. @bluetickgal sorry, don't have experience with needing the Provera even tho I was prescribed it for a 55+ day cycle once. The day I went to take it, AF finally showed. I hope she shows soon! @mvt2003 I'm so sorry you find yourself at this point but I hope you can get some answers from your doc! I echo what PP have said - be sure to advocate for yourself, if you don't understand something or want more clarity, don't be afraid to ask! (I say this in the same breath as above when I admit I'm no good at that either, lolol).

@misshelen86 I con completely relate about waiting for an RE appointment. It was an 8 month wait before we got in there. But once we were in, things did start moving, testing etc. And I think that you are doing the right thing with your time right now. Glad you had a great getaway. Happy Anniversary! We were lucky with the hurricane. Some trees down and our neighbors lost some shingles. We had no power for 30 hours and work was without for a few days. Nothing too serious. That prank was great. My mom would complain about it on calls with us and we would all be chuckling because we knew what was up. We still laugh about it to this day.
@kpearse99 It has definitely been a year. Things have been nutty. Hurricane made us all slow down for a couple days though. I read a book, which I haven't managed to do in years. It was good.
@jennifer_louise Right?! Where exactly is it that this year has gone? Summer felt like a blink and now we are into fall. So.Not.Ready. Sorry to hear that you are on the struggle bus. But I get it. Sometimes you just need to cut yourself some slack and drink/eat your feelings. Nothing wrong with that. You will be back at it in no time. Your poor friend with all the plastic forks. She must have thought she lost her mind. lol
@b_1029 Oh friend, I am so sorry that you are feeling that way right now. Those triggers are so damn hard on us IF ladies. People have no idea what it does to our hearts. Be sure to take care of yours right now. Do what you need to do to protect yourself. Family and friends will survive. I know we have a good friend that wasn't even supposed to be trying for a few more years that is suddenly ku, I have been avoiding her too. Nothing personal, it just hurts.
@inthewoods23 Aw friend, sending so many hugs your way! It is definitely early to test. We are all rooting so hard for you right now and have everything crossed. *hugs* As a side note, YH is the cutest! Love those notes.
@bluetickgal I am guilty of the posting and ghosting club too. Work just gets in the way of things! Hope you are having a better week.
@mvt2003 Good luck with your appointment. The other ladies pretty much covered it all! Just don't be afraid to ask all the questions.
@kiki047 That is such a great story with your mom. If only you had a recording of the conversation. It would have been classic. Poor mom! Hope that the roller coaster has settled down for you some now. Hopefully YH knows that it is really out of your control. FIL is actually scheduled to come home within the next couple weeks. Which is one of the reasons we have been so busy. We had to go and help MIL sort of the two car garage that she has filled with junk. I am not sure if she should be on the next episode of Hoarders, or Extreme Couponing. 90+ bottles of laundry detergent. It was a very, very long day!
@kiki047 those mixed emotions are really hard to handle, I'm so sorry you're going through them - BUT maybe there are natural KU hormones mixed in there!!
Alright everyone - here's my blood work update.... (and I have so many emotions right now so please help me process it all) My blood work shows that I still did NOT O. Estrogen and Progesterone are both still very low. RE said we can treat today like it's CD 4 and start the increased dose of letrozole. He originally told me 7.5 but that's because he thought I was already on the 5 dosage... which I was only on 2.5. So I'm to take 5ml of the Letrozole starting tonight for the next 5 days.
I go in next Wednesday for baseline testing - blood work and ultrasound - to see how everything looks and to see what my follies are doing.
On one hand, I'm happy and relieved we can just call this cycle over and move on but on the other hand I'm bummed that I didn't O at all. I feel like so much was wasted last cycle... And also I'm just so confused because why would my boobs have been tender these last few days, had some cramping and started spotting last night if AF isn't arriving? I asked her about the spotting and she said if it turns into a full flow I can call back but that the doctor really thinks it's best to start the meds tonight and move on from this never ending cycle. So that's what we shall do.
I really hope this plan works out - for at the very least the timing aspect so we can give the first IUI a shot and that it doesn't all fall apart again.. but I'm so worried it won't. I don't think I could go through another cycle like the last one - I just want the meds to work.
Question - the letrozole is supposed to regulate you, right? And basically ensure (with the help of the trigger) that I'm going to O? I was on such a low dose last time that I'm really hoping the increased amount does the trick - but I'm so wigged out about starting without getting AF, ya know?

@nitnat007 I do actually have a video of that entire call, which makes it even more amusing. There was a lot of "Oh ok, so after you found the key, THEN what happened?" I could hear the panic rising in her voice as she was running out of things to say so I finally let her off the hook Did you say 90 bottles of detergent?! Yiiikes. And I thought my dad was bad. When my Uncle helped him move my dad wouldn't let him throw anything out so everything, including expired food, was packed. This is the label on one of them...
(One somewhat important detail - my Dad's name is Marty)
ETA: @kpearse99 ok, so that wasn't exactly the news you were hoping to hear but glad to hear they're letting you just carry on, with or without AF. Letrozole essentially stimulates ovulation by suppressing estrogen production. So it may or may not "regulate" you so much as just help your body produce (hopefully better, stronger) eggs. I haven't heard of anyone not ovulating with that protocol but I suppose it's still possible.

@kpearse99 Ugh, I’m sorry. I guess it’s a little bit of guess work with the prescribed amount. I started with 5mg, and it was too much, so 🤷🏻♀️ That’s good news about not needing to wait for another cycle, but I’d be nervous about that too. Everything you’re feeling is totally valid, and I’m really hoping that they have some good news for you on Wednesday!!
@kpearse99 did they do an ultrasound to look at your lining? I just can’t remember how long this cycle has been for you to know what the thickness may be. I’ve taken Letrozole twice in one “cycle” before because I started responding but then stopped. I even bled a little bit between the doses but then responded well to the higher dose within that same cycle (I went from 5 to 7.5 though). I’m glad that you’re able to move forward! I would still question if you can go straight to 7.5 mg though... unless you started to produce a lot of follicles on the 2.5mg...?
@mokay19 there was no US this morning, just the bloodwork. 🤷🏻♀️ I’m on CD 44 currently. I did ask about going to 7.5, since he mentioned that at first, but the hesitation is the increased chance of twins. So we need to gradually increase it first. In the beginning, the first US after the 2.5mg dose looked really promising with the follies but then they disappeared! I’m happy to hear you had a similar situation with bleeding before starting the second round, the spotting/start of what could be AF makes me nervous but I guess it really doesn’t matter, I can start the letrozole as directed.
@begging4abump I am certainly happy I don’t need to just keep waiting and waiting!
@kiki047 that’s how I thought it all worked, although technically I didn’t O in the 2.5 dose 🤷🏻♀️ I hope increasing it does the trick.

Of course AF would arrive full force today... the day after starting the Letrozole My RE said it's not a problem and to just continue treating it as CD 5 and continue with the meds as planned. It's just my luck though!
I need to do some more Dr. Google research - but I really don't understand how you get your AF if you didn't O... Does anyone have any insight on this?

Had my appointment this morning, it ended up being switched to a new-to-me doctor from the practice. I liked her a lot, which was good. She's going to get me started with the CD3 bloodwork and the HSG, and gave me the cups for the SA. She gave me a purple folder with a sticker on it that says "Infertility" and I cried when I got to the car. She did offer to basically send me directly to the RE, but I've decided to go through the testing before we get the referral.
MH has been very anxious, and bought the at-home sperm count kit, he did that last night and it came back low, which made us cry. She told me (which I logically knew) that it doesn't necessarily mean anything, but I'm pretty sure given some other stuff he has going on that we're going to be looking at MFI. Regardless, we've got a full SA coming up, which will hopefully give us a full picture. Thank you all for your support yesterday, this has been a while coming, but I still feel like I'm a little bit in denial that we're here.

@kpearse99 it's entirely possible to still experience AF-like bleeding when you don't ovulate. Think of it as similar to still getting a period while on hormonal birth control. Bleeding during an an-ovulatory cycle is called breakthrough bleeding. Whereas a menstrual period comes on from a drop in progesterone as the corpus luteum breaks down if you don't get pregnant, breakthrough bleeding would occur with a drop in estrogen. It kind of makes sense that letrozole might cause that to happen since it suppresses estrogen production. Your follicles can and will continue to grow even if you're shedding your uterine lining so as long as your RE doesn't have concerns about your lining building back up before you ovulate, it should be ok to continue taking it.
ETA: I'm so sorry @mvt2003. It may all sound like bad news bears at the beginning because it's so overwhelming but lots of things can influence sperm count, and I don't know how reliable those at-home tests are. Had he abstained before taking the test or have you HIO recently? That can greatly influence his count. MH's count goes up incrementally with each day he abstains between 2-5 days, after which motility tanks (assuming because the sperm are old?). For all our SAs and IUIs we were told that he should abstain from ejaculating for 2 days prior but not more than 5 days. My friend did two IUIs back to back (like she did one, then a second one a day later just to cover all their bases) and her bf's count was in the 20million range day 1 (post-sperm wash, it's normally in the high 30mil I think) and only 2mil day 2. *hugs* it'll be ok. There are still lots of unknowns. Look at @rikiteacup whose H had low count, turns out he had a varicocele, he had the surgery and his subsequent count was fantastic and they were able to conceive. It sounds like you're in good hands with your new doc, so FX for your testing!

@kiki047 Thank you so much, I totally agree that the kit is not definitive. We had abstained for 2.5 days, so maybe adding in at least an extra day would be helpful. It does feel overwhelming now, but I'm hoping I'll start to feel relief once the testing is done. I also appreciate knowing that others have dealt with this issue. @kiki047 sorry the progesterone is messing with you so much! Hope it all evens out soon! I’m taking progesterone next cycle, so that makes me a bit nervous! I’ve never played Cards Against Humanity...but I’ve heard so many good stories from it, maybe we need to check it out? Also, just wanted to say you are a wealth of knowledge!! ☺️ Thanks for sharing with us!!
@nitnat007 glad you understand, although I just ghosted completely last week! 🤦🏼♀️ Thanks, this week has been much better! Oh dear...sounds like you had an adventure cleaning out the garage! Did you at least get to take some detergent for your troubles?!
@kpearse99 I responded in WTO, but still sending more hugs for all the confusion/stress!! 💜 Hoping this is your cycle!!
@mvt2003 glad your appt went well and you like the new doc! Hopefully your testing will give you some answers and help you to form an action plan going forward! Sending hugs...I know seeing/hearing IF can be overwhelming!!
AFM, I called the RE’s office yesterday and they called in a prescription for Provera...so my waiting continues. Hope it does the trick this time though and we can move on to the next cycle!
@mvt2003 I responded in WTO but know that I'm here for you too!

@kpearse99 I have the same song on repeat all day so I'm doing pretty good! 😆
I really don't know what to think because I thought I would feel more symptoms being on progesterone in oil and suppositories 2x a day but no, I really don't feel different than I did in any of the TWWs over the last 2 years. So like, should I expect it didn't work? Do I just not have major symptoms?? Ugh, Friday needs to come ASAP!

Has anyone else spotted through their TWW while on progesterone? I had some bright red spotting mixed with CM yesterday afternoon, which turned to brown last night and disappeared, but I noticed a bit more brown spotting today at 9dpiui. I've never spotted during my TWW before so I'm assuming it's a side effect of the suppositories. Dr Google says they can irritate my cervix so maybe that's it? Obviously my first thought was IB but over two days seems less likely so now I'm sad.

I don't have experience with the progesterone, but it seems like it could be possible. I'm going to stick with implantation though! I've read that it could last for a few hours or a few days on and off.

@inthewoods23 I only have mild symptoms even with taking progesterone twice a day (and while taking PIO). Try not to read too much into that. FX so hard for you on Friday! ❤
*lurking* @kiki047 When I was on progesterone suppositories, it definitely caused spotting by bumping into my cervix. I don't know if it happens to everyone but it is quite common.
My heart gets so happy when the grads are lurking, hiiiii @ruby696 @mamanbebe thank you! I read something about that too, they just feel like they melt so damn fast that it seemed impossible to bump into anything in there @kpearse99 gahhh please be IB, pretty pretty please.

@kiki047 You're welcome And yes, they melt so fast but somehow seem to get a jab in there anyway haha. I remember pressing the sharp end into my fingertip first to soften it first but I'm not sure if it helped a ton.
@mamanbebe I also try to shove it wayyy up in there because in my head it felt like maybe it wouldn't drip out so much but pretty sure that's what my cervix/body are freaking out about. Ahh just add it to the list of things I never thought I'd have to think about.

@mvt2003 I'm so sorry YH got less-than-ideal home results. FX for the full testing to come back good. Going to the RE is such a milestone, and can really mess with your mind. Hopefully you get a good plan and helpful information. I know I have been so appreciative of the knowledge the ladies on this thread have provided to me. We're all here for you!
<img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/5020794/uploads/editor/av/2ud5r0v53g5p.gif" alt=""> @mvt2003 IF sucks. It really does, and having that realization when it hits you is one of the lows along the journey, for sure. But there's hope! As for YH, YAY!!!!!! YOU HAVE SPERM!!!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 I mean holy crap, not for nothing. You need sperm to make a baby. And he's got sperms! 😃 Seriously, let's celebrate YH. Cos that is brave AF to even <i>PURCHASE</i> an at home test, let alone take it together. With MFI, I just think it's so important to be his cheerleader a lot of the time, KWIM? If it is MFI you're dealing with (and please don't take too much stock in the home test, either BTW), this is most likely going to suck in an extra special way for him. Any time I talk about our IF, it's always we are struggling with IF, we struggled, etc. And most people don't ask the specifics of your dx unless you volunteer it. I let DH be the guide of how much detail I share with anyone IRL, which is tough, but in our case, since it's technically his dx, I believe that Inowe him that, and it's nobody's business. He can come around to sharing more openly when the time comes, but I think it's good to reassure them over and over again just how much we love them for so many other reasons than their <i>fertility</i>, I mean please! Big huge ((((hugs)))) grrrl. ❤️❤️❤️

@inthewoods23 Thinking of you, Fx so hard for tomorrow!
My nurse just called in my Progesterone. I was supposed to be doing PIO and endometrin. But instead I'll be doing Progesterone in ethyl Oleate due to allergies. Hoping it is just as effective as I hear the PIO is.
@hanshotfirst77 should be just as effective. It's just a different carrier for the progesterone!

Re: IF Testing & Treatment w/o 9.16
@bluetickgal I think it once took 14 days with Provera for me. I’m trying to remember exactly, but I know I complained about how long it was taking.

Me 34 DH 34
PCOS
Baby number 2 due 4/11/20
@hanshotfirst77 ahhh that’s so soon! So excited for you!
@bluetickgal how frustrating- I hope AF comes soon. I wish I could help with your question, but I’ll just say I’m so sorry you have to keep waiting.
@hanshotfirst77 @mokay19 @mercury94 thanks so much ladies!
@b_1029 thanks you! ☺️

*hugs*
As a side note, YH is the cutest!
Alright everyone - here's my blood work update.... (and I have so many emotions right now so please help me process it all)
My blood work shows that I still did NOT O.

Did you say 90 bottles of detergent?! Yiiikes. And I thought my dad was bad. When my Uncle helped him move my dad wouldn't let him throw anything out so everything, including expired food, was packed. This is the label on one of them...
ETA:
@kpearse99 ok, so that wasn't exactly the news you were hoping to hear but glad to hear they're letting you just carry on, with or without AF. Letrozole essentially stimulates ovulation by suppressing estrogen production. So it may or may not "regulate" you so much as just help your body produce (hopefully better, stronger) eggs. I haven't heard of anyone not ovulating with that protocol but I suppose it's still possible.

I’m glad that you’re able to move forward! I would still question if you can go straight to 7.5 mg though... unless you started to produce a lot of follicles on the 2.5mg...?
@begging4abump I am certainly happy I don’t need to just keep waiting and waiting!
@kiki047 that’s how I thought it all worked, although technically I didn’t O in the 2.5 dose 🤷🏻♀️ I hope increasing it does the trick.

ETA:
I'm so sorry @mvt2003.

@inthewoods23 I only have mild symptoms even with taking progesterone twice a day (and while taking PIO). Try not to read too much into that. FX so hard for you on Friday! ❤
@mamanbebe thank you! I read something about that too, they just feel like they melt so damn fast that it seemed impossible to bump into anything in there

@mvt2003 IF sucks.
