    WTO/TWW?

    Ages of other child(ren)?
    Emma is 3

    Any thoughts about this cycle?
I'm hopeful about this cycle now that we'll be temping & using OPKs. I am sure we super missed ovulation last cycle.

    Any questions?
    Not at the moment :)

    Rant/Rave/Brag:
Emma is doing sooo well in her big-girl bed! But, she's stopped napping...sooo, she's super tired in the PM. Fortunately, she's been asking to go to bed early - and I'm pretty sure I'm just going to make 6:30pm her new bed time (she reads in her bed for a while before sleeping).

GTKY: What is one of your parenting goals (IE - Parenting goal #198 - when your kid can swim on their own without needing you to be in the water with them)?
Dude that's a great parenting goal lol.
My parenting goal is to give my kids a childhood they don't have to recover from.

Any thoughts about this cycle? Still fairly early!

Any questions? Re temping - DS generally sleeps in our bed, wakes up at night still and is also so hot. Im wondering if it’s even worth it to temp. Would it be accurate? I’m usually up at least 2-3x on a good night.

Rant/Rave/Brag: we are currently cutting 6 teeth and it has been pure hell. I feel horrible for my boy!

GTKY: What is one of your parenting goals (IE - Parenting goal #198 - when your kid can swim on their own without needing you to be in the water with them)? Oh man. When he can wake up in the morning and get his own breakfast? When he can wipe his own butt? Doing those things before coffee sure makes quite the start to the day.
  • @chaos-and-coffee hahaha I'm sorry to say that my 7 year old still doesn't typically get himself breakfast in the morning  :D (thankfully he's not much of a breakfast person though, like his mama) annnnnnd he's still not the best at wiping his own butt!
6 teeth at once?! Ugh, poor little guy and poor mama too! I feel your pain!

@saladflambe I would absolutely go for the earlier bedtime!

Any thoughts about this cycle? No thoughts in particular. Starting my OPK test strips this week.

    Any questions? No

Rant/Rave/Brag: DD is blowing me away with how quickly her vocabulary is growing! She is starting to repeat things a lot and is picking up new words left and right. I learned yesterday that she says "bless you" when we sneeze! It's super adorable.
She's also adjusted really well to being back at daycare full time. Her naps there are starting to become much closer in length to what she takes at home and we're in a good routine.

GTKY: What is one of your parenting goals (IE - Parenting goal #198 - when your kid can swim on their own without needing you to be in the water with them)?
Instilling a love of reading is really important to me, especially as a teacher. DH and I are big readers and so far, it looks like DD is going to be too!

I'll be back for tags later!
  • @gingermama29 I really miss the learning to talk phase!!! I have read to my son just about every single night since he was born but he does not have a love for reading...ugh! He's not the strongest reader, so he gets frustrated and then doesn't want to try anymore - but he gets additional help in school with title one and that does get him more excited about reading!

    *lurker*

FWIW, I wake up one to three times a night. Sometimes using the bathroom, sometimes my six-month-old will just let out a couple cries. Doesn't need anything and goes back to sleep, but she still wakes me up.

What I do is temp every time I wake up. Then I check the time. For example, I might go to bed at 11, wake up at 1:30 and wake up at 6:30 for the day. Or I might go to bed at 10:30, wake up at 3, wake up at 5 and wake up at 7 for the day. Then I'll use whichever of those temps is after at least 3 hours of sleep (once in awhile, there will be a non-3 hours night, but it's unusual, and I'd use the longest stretch and mark it as weird in that case). Ideally, I'll use a 6-7ish temp, but sometimes I'll only have a couple hours before that so I'll be using a temp I take at 3 am. So far, I've still been able to decipher when ovulation was with a couple days of hindsight. I don't use FF anymore (Kindara), but I know FF specifically says even with some weird temps, ovulation can usually be detected.

I have the Easy@Home thermometer, and it remembers up to 30 temps, so it's not a big deal to temp frequently and I don't have to write it down immediately or remember.
  • @lovesclimbing makes total sense. Thank you! @kpearse99 a girl can dream! Even if it’s 10 years away 😂 one day!
  • @saladflambe I'm glad you won't be missing O this time around! And, I'm so jealous your kiddo goes to bed so early. Mine still naps during the day but is bouncing off the walls til past 9 (and then up before 6). When do you sleep, child?

@kpearse99 ugh Boooo to your weird cycle. I'll be waiting with bated (baited?) breath to see your RE update tomorrow.

@chaos-and-coffee welcome! You could try temping, I just wouldn't put 100% confidence in it. FWIW I can still observe the temp shift even when I'm up at night for various reasons. But, I don't wake up 2-3 times per night on the regs! I hope your kiddo starts sleeping better soon, for both your sakes!

@gingermama29 so sweet of your DD to say bless you! I remember the first time my DD said that to me around that same age ("Bess, mama") and it took forever for me to figure out what she was trying to say. ♥️

What number are you trying for? 2

    Month/cycle: 15/18

    WTO/TWW: WTO

Ages of other children? 2, coming up on 3.

Any thoughts about this cycle? Only thoughts that will get me banned from TB! Lol but srsly, no chance this cycle due to work travel but moving on to Letrozole + IUI + Progesterone next cycle!

Rant/rave/brag: I was in such a TTC funk over the weekend. I wish I could say it is better today, but at least I have more distractions during the week. I'm still outrageously mopey though.

GTKY: I have so many goals, but really I just want her to be a conscientious little person - aware of others around her. Of course, wiping her own butt someday would be a plus 😆. It would also be cool if she could entertain herself (or play independently without us) for more than 5 minutes at a time!
  • @jennifer_louise I'm still waiting for DS to entertain himself most of the time  :D He needs so much attention due to being the only child haha

I'm glad you have distractions during the week - maybe they will help pull you out of the place you're in.  I'm excited for your plan for next cycle though! Hang in there, mama!

  • Oh no @kpearse99! Well, hopefully our LOs won't be only children forever... That's another unspoken goal. 😂

And thanks, friend! You hang in there too.
  • Well that was an evening...
Daycare called me to tell me Emma is complaining about her vagina hurting (this is an ongoing saga for us) & that she had a zillion accidents. So, I took her to the pediatric urgent care. They want a urine sample; she refuses to pee even though she's clearly been peeing all day. I drive her the 40 minutes home, she immediately pees at home, I drive the sample alllll the way back to the urgent care......

    She's totally fine.
There's nothing wrong, and she's telling us it hurts for one of a few reasons:
    1. She's very sensitive in that area (always has been; this is our 3rd trip for this kind of complaint)
    2. She's holding in her poop all day & it ends up pushing on her bladder, making her crotch hurt
    3. She gets attention when she does it (yes.... yes she does... even from daycare!)

At least we now know it's not a UTI, it's not an anything...she's fine, which we suspected since the mysterious pain seems to coincide with not wanting to go to bed/tantrums/wanting something that's not going her way. And then POOF disappears when we come into her bedroom or we finally arrive home or the tantrum ends or whatever.......

ugh. why's she gotta be so smart as to figure out how to get to me so young?

@kpearse99 oooh I like your parenting goal. I do look forward to more independence (but also don't want to rush to that stage). Glad you got a nap in today.

@saladflambe glad the transition to the big girl bed has been so smooth! Love your parenting goal too.

@chaos-and-coffee oh god teething is awful. And 6 at once is no joke. Poor little guy. Hang in there!

@jennifer_louise I'm sorry you've been in a funk with TTC. I hope you're able to shake it soon! And agreed about playing independently.
  • What number are you trying for? 3

    Month/Cycle? 4/5 AL

    WTO/TWW? WTO

    Ages of other child(ren)? 4 and 2

Any thoughts about this cycle? It’s before O so I’m still hopeful. And looking for any signs of why this will be our cycle. Like my mom finding two baby lizards in her house. I’m totally getting KU 😂

    Any questions? None.

Rant/Rave/Brag: I started the week with a good, tough workout. Hoping to carry that momentum through the week with eating and exercising.

GTKY: What is one of your parenting goals (IE - Parenting goal #198 - when your kid can swim on their own without needing you to be in the water with them)? Wipe their own butts EFFECTIVELY.

@kpearse99 I woke up this morning and thought the same thing about wishing it was Friday. Hopefully it’ll be a quick week for us! And thanks for the loss of hope on butt wiping 😂

@saladflambe Awww Emma! What a sweet name 💗And I’m glad she doesn’t have a UTI.

@chaos-and-coffee When we were ttc for my daughter, my son was 15 months and in bed with us. I was up often so I just aimed to temp at the same time vs after a 3 hr sleep block (impossible). I still showed very distinct shifts after O. For reference, my son is a super sweaty sleeper and we live in Florida. It was always hot.

@gingermama29 my kids “read” to themselves and I love it! It’s so sweet.

@Jennifer_louise I’m sorry you’ve been in a funk. Big hugs to you. I’m excited and hopeful for your next cycle, though!

@kpearse99 LOL, excellent gif usage! I hope you get some more chances for extra sleep this week!

@saladflambe nooooo I’m sorry for the end of naps. But glad that she still loves bedtime!

@chaos-and-coffee oh dear to the 6 teeth. DD is getting at least 2 canines, DH thinks maybe all 4 but we can’t get a good look/feel for the top 2. And it’s pretty hard on all of us so I can’t even imagine 6. Yikes.

edit - oops accidentally hit post. I’ll just leave this and continue in a new comment
  • @gingermama29 oh yes the start of “bless you” is the sweetest! I’m glad your DD is adjusting so well to the daycare schedule. Definitely makes life a lot easier!

@jennifer_louise I’m sorry for the funk. I’m sure the work travel during FW isn’t helping. I’m very very excited for your IUI next cycle though!

@saladflambe ugh I hope you can figure out what is going on with your DD!

@tyrion_ I am always looking for signs too! Why do we do this to ourselves?  Nice job on starting the week out with a good workout!

What number are you trying for? 2

    Month/Cycle? 11

    WTO/TWW? WTO

    Ages of other child(ren)? 1.75

Any thoughts about this cycle? I can’t count and my 8 day coincidence I posted about last week isn’t right so basically I’m out now. Ha.

    Any questions? Nope

Rant/Rave/Brag: The longest DD has ever gone without seeing a doctor is 38 days - until today! It’s day 39 and we broke her record. For those who don’t know she was born with a condition that required 3 surgeries within a year. She is still monitored by several specialists even though she is totally fine. Also shortly after her last surgery she developed asthma (not related to her previous issues, we just can’t catch a break). So we are at the doctors office/children’s hospital a lot. But we have a streak going! I’m sure it will end soon, we don’t have her asthma totally controlled yet, but I’ll take the minor win.

GTKY: Parenting goal #76 - getting DD to understand that the car takes us fun places! She is always fine once she’s in the car seat but she takes so much convincing to get in there. I can’t even say “let’s go in the car and see Mimi!” Because all she understands is “Mimi” and then is mad that I can’t produce her immediately. I’m trying to be so careful because I don’t want it to become a power struggle, but I really think that once I can tell her where we are going and it clicks, we will only have the fight when we are getting in the car to come home 😆

  • Hi, kind of new here! I introduced myself in the intros post, but think I fit in this thread the most. Forgive me, but I’ll be going back and replying to above comments. I find that I get distracted during the day and usually have to catch up on everything in the evening.

Ages of other child(ren)? 3.5 and 21 months

Any thoughts about this cycle? Nervously excited about trying again. Husband is finally on board.

Any questions? Not off the top of my head

Rant/Rave/Brag: it has been a ridiculous Monday. While crawling into bed I just though “wow, it’s been a long week. Thank goodness tomorrow is Saturday” ...then it hit me that tomorrow is not Saturday 😭

GTKY: What is one of your parenting goals (IE - Parenting goal #198 - when your kid can swim on their own without needing you to be in the water with them)? I just want my kids to know how much I love them and never question it.

@kpearse99 I feel you on how it’s been a long week and only Monday! Hopefully it eases up.

@saladflambe SO glad Emma doesn’t have a UTI... it’s so hard to figure out what causes things at this age. They have a hard time describing what they’re feeling!

@tyrion_ I’m a little bit jealous of your workout... but at the same time, I deliberately skipped gym time this morning for a few more minutes of snoozing my alarm. Probably not the way I should have started the week.. teach me to be like you! Haha

@bows22 wow! That’s a lot of doctors appointments and surgeries but it’s so exciting to break that record! ❤️
  • @tyrion_ Two baby lizards is a sign you're gonna have twins!!

  • @kpearse99 ugh I'm sorry you're stuck waiting around for your period. Fingers crossed you get some helpful information from the bloodwork today.

@saladflambe you are giving me hope with the story about Emma actually wanting to go to bed early. My oldest (2) has been fighting bedtime so hard lately. Most nights he isn't finally asleep till around midnight despite me getting him ready for bed around 9pm. I am exhausted and over it. Also I'm loving your parenting goal. My husband and I have a running joke that we will just chip in on the therapy bill for the kids later in life because parenting is HARD.

@tyrion_ Haha hear you on the signs. I actually read my fortune cookie one of the last times we got Chinese thinking maybe it would be sign. It said "To experience a rainbow you must first get through the storm." And I'm like ".......don't know how I feel about this. Kinda dick fortune cookie." I like the twin lizards a lot more.

@bows22 yay for a new record! I hope that continues to lengthen for you both.

@k-t-runs welcome! I'm with you on feeling like it should be the weekend soon.

What number are you trying for? 3

    Month/Cycle? 1/1

    WTO/TWW? WTO

    Ages of other child(ren)? 2 and 1

Any thoughts about this cycle? I started getting EWCM on CD6 and by CD8 I started having the increase in sex drive that usually happens near O so that's weird. I feel like my body is getting a little ahead of itself since in over 2 years of tracking I have never ovulated earlier than CD13 (or maybe it was 12? Either way!) At least my husband is mostly home for the next week so hopefully timing is OK.

Any questions? Nah. Maybe later in the week.

Rant/Rave/Brag: After having the weekend with my husband home the kids were doing so much better. They weren't nearly so clingy and fussy. Then yesterday my husband had to make a day trip to the office and I guess the kids thought it was another 2 weeks without daddy kind of thing because they just lost it. Yesterday was chaos. I'm hoping they settle now that he is back.

GTKY: What is one of your parenting goals (IE - Parenting goal #198 - when your kid can swim on their own without needing you to be in the water with them)? Right now I'm looking forward to when they will out themselves to bed without a big fuss and actually reliably sleep through the night. I'm also looking forward to when they can reliably tell me what's wrong/what they want so we can stop playing the "why is baby crying" guessing game. William is getting close but he still gets frustrated with some things and will just lay in the floor and cry till I guess that he wants a sippy cup or milk or whatever. I'm fine letting him fuss it out for something where he is just trying to get his way. But if I don't know why he is crying it could be he doesn't feel good or is hungry or whatever. So yeah it will be nice when he can just tell me and I can get him a snack or tell him to stop whining to get his way if it is just whining for his way.

  • Hi ladies 👋 I’m still pretty new here and trying to hop in more

What number are you trying for? 2

Month/Cycle? I’m counting this as 1, but last month we did have unprotected sex during my FW and I definitely felt like I was in it with the TWW anxiousness. This is the first month we’re really going for it.

    WTO/TWW? WTO

    Ages of other child(ren)? 8

Any thoughts about this cycle? I’m new to actually trying to conceive. My daughter was a surprise and I had a paragard for 8 years after she was born. So it’s interesting trying to pay attention to my body and when I’m going to O and having SO not pull out every time during sex, lol. I’d rather not add on temping, but I don’t know how easy/difficult this journey is going to be so I guess we’ll see what happens.

Any questions? So many, but none anyone can answer for me unless they’re psychic, lol

Rant/Rave/Brag: I recently went from a 3 hr/day commute to about 10 minutes and it feels so amazing. I’m still trying to figure out what to do with this extra free time.

GTKY: What is one of your parenting goals? Getting my daughter to expand her palate. She is so incredibly picky and it makes making her lunches/dinners pretty annoying. I’m trying to find more healthy foods she’ll enjoy. I did recently finally have success with avocado 🙌
  • @kpearse99 my 8 year old literally does wake up and put on her robe and Netflix 😂 she is obsessed with her robe and wears it whenever she can, it’s the cutest. Hoping your LO starts soon! It’s been pretty nice!
  • What number are you trying for? THB #2

    Month/Cycle? 10/9

    WTO/TWW? TWW 5 dpo

Ages of other child(ren)? 22 months

    Any thoughts about this cycle?

If we aren’t successful this time, we are moving to IUI... unless the genetic results show beyond the normal results we got two years ago with a less in depth test.

Any questions? Can you cross your fingers extra hard for me in the next week that we can get some implantation going on?!  Totally hoping we got the conception part down, which would be a necessary first step...

Rant/Rave/Brag: I know it’s trivial in perspective of our struggle, and we will take a baby at any time at this point... but if we are successful this month or the next two then my leave won’t be paid because it will be during summer. That sucks.

GTKY: What is one of your parenting goals (IE - Parenting goal #198 - when your kid can swim on their own without needing you to be in the water with them)?

I want to raise a child(ren) that care(s) just as much about the world around him/them as he/they do about themselves. Plus an easy time potty training would be great considering birth was so rough and the fact that he’s a stinky sleeper.

  • @kpearse99 What is it about social studies tests that’s bugging you? Do you think there should be tests in other subjects? (FWIW I started in second and worked my way up to fourth)

@bows22 I hope she can extend the streak to longer! DS had stomach bugs every month while in daycare and had nothing wrong in June-August other than a fungal diaper rash, but two days into daycare he was sick. Can’t win!

... I’m about to meet with the daycare director about a bunch of cleanliness issues so let’s see how that goes.

  • @nytino24 it’s not so much that it’s the subject just that it’s testing. I feel like 7/8 is so young to start actual tests, other than like a 5 word spelling test.  Maybe I did start that young with tests and I just don’t remember? But I don’t recall having actual tests until like 4th grade.

good luck with the meeting!!! I hope you get to make all of your valid points and concerns and that they do something about it. Keep us posted

  • @NYTino24 stopping in here to say solidarity on the rough birth and horrid sleeper. @tyrion_ definitely a sign! We’ll all see you in the June BMB!
  • @k-t-runs I hope your week is going by quickly so that you get to the real Saturday soon!

@NamelessAria oh yes I hear you with just wanting to know what is wrong! Lately DD has been saying “please” but not telling us what she actually wants. I want to encourage the “please” usage but she usually ends up upset that we can’t guess the right thing! Poor kid! Anyway I’m glad it looks like you might have an early O before the business trip

@NYTino24 I have everything crossed for you that implantation is happening now!! How did your meeting with the daycare director go?

@tyrion_ you need to find the mom lizard and rub her head or something for good luck 🤣
  • If I get pregnant this cycle, my due date will be on Father's Day 2020.

My daughter's birthday fell on mother's day THIS year.

So definitely signs here too, right?

  • @kpearse99 We definitely gave 10 word spelling and 5 vocab word tests when I taught second grade. Can’t remember an exact number of math questions. One of the ways of keeping **teachers** “accountable” is by testing kids up the wazoo. It increases anxiety in everyone - kids, teachers, and parents.

  • Daycare talk went much better than the same talk we had last year. I noticed that the assistant teacher cleaned one of the three tables this morning (one still had food from yesterday though) and yet, she thought it was okay to have the kids sit and eat while the table was wet. She used water and bleach. DUH! That can be deadly if they ingest it! My sister had a dog that died a slow and painful death from lapping up a small amount of water from a mopped floor. I would rather he eat at a table with cruddy food than that! Seriously, this lady knows nothing about basic childcare and hygiene. She’s sweet and loves the kids, but it’s not a job she’s competent to have. She told me today that she’s going back to her home country to take care of her mother at the end of the month and not coming back. I feel bad as my son will miss her, but I’m concerned someone worse will be hired!! At least she sat down and read / played with the kids, unlike some other teachers. Once we are done with the RE and not needing a 6:30 drop off, we can sell / buy and move him. I looked at other places ($1300-$1500 per month) and they aren’t much better or they don’t have openings until spring. It’s incredibly frustrating and luckily he is doing fine.

  • @NYTino24 oh that sounds so stressful. I hope whomever they hire is much better!
