Re: September 2019 FET

  • Hey!

    @stella_700 hope today went well!

    @inthewoods23 ive been feeling pretty good, besides being tired, but a toddler will do that to you. Very slight cramps yesterday. I had my progesterone test today and they don’t call, no news is good news. I didnt get a call! I did break down and test yesterday and today. I tested this morning on an internet cheapie when i woke up to use the bathroom at 4:30 am and didnt see anything. When i got up at 6:30 again and looked at it(for some reason i didnt toss it out) i saw a very very very faint squinter. Im 5dpt. I tried not to get my hopes up but hubby saw something too. Around 2 hours later i said what the heck and decided to test again on another cheapie and the line was still faint but definitely a bit darker and showed up much faster than the first one. So im cautiously optimistic, but still waiting to see what a better test says as well as my beta on Friday 9/13.

    As for the estrace pills, i don’t know that they affected me on their own. I think all the hormones in general just kind of made me a bit more crazy, lol. I’ll have a bit of a blow up them calm down and apologize for the hormones haha.  The lupron this time around gave me more headaches than i remember.

  • @dreamcometrue2017 that sounds promising! I bought a couple cheap Dollar Tree tests. The earliest I want to test is Saturday or Sunday but we have plans with my family all weekend (going to a corn maze) and I don't want to potentially find out good news with everyone around. I'll either test Sunday night or Monday morning

  • @inthewoods23 im going to just take it one day at a time. I completely agree about wanting to be on your own for the test. Good or bad news i wouldnt want to have to share it right away.  We wait until 12 weeks to tell our news anyway, just to be safe.  I hope today goes perfect for you and your little embaby sticks nice and deep!

  • @dreamcometrue2017 DH wants to do the same and wait as long as possible. I think he's still worried about a MC, even though there's nothing that would indicate it might happen. 12 weeks is right around Thanksgiving so that makes it easy to announce since a lot of family will be around.

  • @stellegalascione the needles look rough but after the first night I had it down and its not worse than IVF injections now.

    @BusinessWife I feel strong! Thanks for asking. SO excited!

    @inthewoods23 I take a longer walk every night after my injections now because i really do think it helps keep the stiffness from setting in. Good luck today!!

  • @cmhme thanks!

    @inthewoods23 if everything goes well we would be around 12 weeks just after halloween, but would probably wait until thanksgiving to do a broader announcement beyond family.  Last time we didnt announce until i was almost 5 months, i hid it pretty well from everyone except family and closer friends. We have had a miscarriage before and even though we did genetic testing we are always nervous. Good news is, i had another light positive this morning on a first response test. Im going to do a clear blue test tomorrow, i’ll be 7 dpt. We started getting bfp last time on 6dpt.

  • @stellegalascione the estrace is awful for me! I feel your pain. I feel sick to my stomach and just awful. Plus tearing up at anything. I have a lining check next Monday; I can't wait for the estrace part to be over.
  • It went perfectly yesterday! Thanks for everyone's well wishes, we are hopeful. I spent the day hanging out with the husband, it was marvelous. After the procedure I just rested on my bed with a book. I confessed to my nurse that I'd probably test Tuesday or Monday. I'm schedule for bw on the 18th but I'd get the results while at work, I gotta know before hand. Crying at work (where I'd get the phone call) in a complete meltdown isn't allowed (by me).

    I'll be back tomorrow to respond more!

    @inthewoods23 Your turn. Good luck!
  • @stella_700 thanks!

    Things didn't go entirely to plan. They thawed our best male embryo but it didn't make it. I don't remember what the embryologist said happened exactly. It sounds like they could have transferred it but their standards indicated that it would not be a likely pregnancy so they had to thaw the 1 and only other male embryo we have. She said it looked perfect and was already hatched out of the zona (or was working on it) so that was really promising to hear! All our embryos were basically graded 5BB so they probably have an equal chance of working for us. We have high hopes for this little guy, for sure! DH is already saying hello to him in my uterus  :D

    @dreamcometrue2017 a squinter at 5dpt is super promising. Stick little embaby stick!!! (Well and grow too)

    @stella700 yeah the call at work is awful. I never listened at work and wait to listen to the voicemail until we are together at home. It’s kinda torture.

    @inthewoods23 I’m so sorry the one embryo you were planning on didn’t work out but the little boy embryo you did transfer sounds like a fighter. I hope fate is just telling you he’s the right one for your family and now is the right time ❤️ Sending good vibes your way.

    AFM. Beta is tomorrow and I’m not optimistic. I feel asleep on the couch and missed one of my evening progesterone suppositories and estrogen doses. I’ve been beating myself up about that all week.

    TW
    we have had 4 previous “positive” betas. Three were CPs and one was my daughter. For all I had a tugging sensation around transplant time.  This time nada.
    END TW

    So between messing up my meds and lack of symptoms I’m kinda down about the whole thing. We decided to test this evening so I can be prepared when I get the message tomorrow at work. It will be easier to know at home.

  • @stellegalascione the estrace is really hitting me, I feel super bloated and tired allll the time!

    @dreamcometrue2017 I have a feeling you transferred a sticky one! I will be praying your lines get darker and a positive is confirmed with beta.

    @stella_700 Good luck! Sending you tons of baby dust!

    @inthewoods23 I keep having the feeling that mine will have trouble making it thru the thaw since this would be their second thaw. I hope your transferred embryo is a sticky one...thinking of you!

    AFM: not too much going on here, still on estrace. I have an appointment on Friday and if my lining is where it needs to be I will be starting PIO and suppositories on Saturday. Just a waiting game for me still I guess.
  • Thanks everyone! Ill keep you all posted if the lines get darker!

    @inthewoods23 so sorry you had to lose one of your embabies. I think everything happens for a reason and this little guy must be meant to be! Fingers crossed!  I was worried our little guy wouldnt make it esp being our last one. I couldnt even think about going back to trying naturally again and all that frustration. Praying for sticky babies!

  • @pathomer I am in the middle of a natural FET. It basically consists of monitoring with blood work and ultrasound which start at day 12 until you ovulate. They basically are looking for your dominant follicle to develop on the ultrasound. To help with timing the ovulation once they detect you are about to ovulate they will give you a trigger shot and then 7 days later they will transfer the embryo. Also I think 4 days after the trigger you have to start progesterone. My RE has me on baby aspirin to help with the lining which is the only medication I've taken since the start of this natural cycle.

    It has been pretty frustrating so far for me though. I just had my IVF retrieval cycle last month so I don't know if its the effect of all the hormones but its CD29 today and I still haven't ovulated. I have read online that ovulation can be delayed after an IVF cycle.  Basically since CD12 I have been getting bloodwork and USG every 3-4 days. My last check was yesterday and I have a follicle now which is 13.9mm and could potentially be the dominant follicle. My estrogen is still low which is a problem. My RE wants to keep going even though its been so long as he still thinks there is a chance. I have very little hopes though. I go back on Friday to see if the follicle has progressed.

    Natural cycle is great because you are on minimal medications but its also very unpredictable as in my case. You have very little control and just depends on when you ovulate. Success rates are comparable to medicated cycle though.
  • @2MomsHoping Congrats! That's wonderful...praying for a continued healthy pregnancy :)
  • @2MomsHoping congrats! That is one of the best feelings!

    Welcome @pathomer im sorry i don’t know much about a natural FET cycle, ive on,y done medicated ones.

    AFM, still waiting for my beta on friday but this morning i took a clear blue test and it was positive within 30 seconds! I was still cautious as the previous tests i took were a bit older, but todays was brand new so lets just hope the beta shows rising numbers! Fingers crossed

    @2MomsHoping YESSSSS! I'm so excited for you. I love that your wife got to be the one to "test". I realize that in your low hopes you may not of meant it that way, I still think its special.

    Sending so many good thoughts to you and your family for a healthy pregnancy.
  • @inthewoods23 I'm disappointed that you lost an embryo in the process yesterday but I'm glad that the transfer itself went well. Allow yourself to feel all the feels. My fingers are super crossed for you. I love that your DH is so involved. :smiley: Talking to the ute, just makes me smile.
    @pathomer welcome to September! I'm hoping that this is your month.
    @nasah15 holy moly an ultrasound everything 3-4 days? ugh. I know that some women respond better when not on the meds though for this part of the fertility process. I'm hoping your next appointment shows follicle growth so you can move forward.

    I'm okay today, still some mild cramping and today I've got a sore lower back. Trying to stay on top of my water, meds, and nutrition. I really want ice cream though.

  • @2MomsHoping congratulations! That's the best news.

    @stella_700 I hope you got your ice cream :)

    I'm new here -- I'm 45 years old TTC with my second husband. I had my 5 day FET on 9/3 with 2 embryos transferred and will have my initial beta test tomorrow morning.

    These embryos are from eggs I froze 4 years ago. My husband had a vasectomy years before I met him. We had our embryos PGS tested and these 2 were the only euploid ones.  We have no insurance coverage. If this cycle doesn't work we won't try again.

    This has been the most anxious two weeks of my life!
  • Yay!!!!!! @2MomsHoping CALLED IT!!!!!  :D

    So excited for you both!  Looking forward to more good news in the weeks to come ❤️

    @stella_700. Happy thoughts your way!!!

    @dreamcometrue2017 Congratulations!!!

    @inthewoods23. I'm sorry you lost your embie.  Each one is so precious.  (((Hugs))). Best of luck with your upcoming betas...

    @pathomer Welcome!  We will be doing a natural cycle too, when the time comes....

    @nasah15. Sorry you're having such a frustrating experience.  Won't they add supplemental estrogen at some point to help get things going?  I've never done it either so IDK. That's such a bummer
  • @Knottie726abba9216d2d90 how have you not tested this whole time?? I would be dying to know early! But, I would also be terrified to know the answer ahead of time  :# GL tomorrow!

  • Well DH is traveling for work right now and so it has been hard to find time to come online so time to play catch up!

    @dreamcometrue2017 and @2MomsHoping congratulations!

    @stella_700 and @inthewoods23 I'm glad to hear that your transfers went well (though I'm sorry to hear that you lost one of your embabies inthewoods23, that's so incredibly hard!)

    @pathomer, unfortunately no help with a natural cycle here (though it was mentioned to me after my cancelled cycle last month, ultimately they went the opposite and had me do extra estrace)

    AFM, I'm just in the waiting period until my lining check next Tuesday!

  • @nasah15 I hope you ovulate soon, it sounds agonizing to having to keep going back to check.

    @inthewoods23 I read a heartbreaking blog post from a woman who caught her CP by testing early; I thought it was just better to really know. Now I'm just waiting for the phone call.

    Thoughts with everyone waiting for things to happen. That's been the hardest part of this whole process.
  • oh I figured out how to change my user name from Knottie726... hi again everyone
  • well, that username change didn't work.

    anyway, the beta results were good! our dice roll worked out for now.

    I hope everyone else is doing ok with waiting.
  • Trying logging out then back in. Hopefully your username will change. Still showing up as knottie for me.

    Great news though! That's awesome!

  • Hi friends! I have been taking Estrace for almost two weeks now; lining check on Monday. Transfer sometime the week after that. I went through a FET protocol a few months ago and my lining was great.

    *TW, for my first FET 2.5 years ago that produced my son it was hard to get it to 8 *end TW*.

     But I had thyroid elevation. Now my thyroid is in check so I hope the lining is too.
  • @2MomsHoping good luck today! everything crossed for you!

    @lrynwnab I hope your lining check goes well. I had thyroid problems too.
  • welp, my transfer was supposed to be yesterday (9/12), but last week's ultrasound only showed 5mm uterine lining. My doctor added estrogen patches to be switched every other day over past week and I went back this morning for another scan...still 5mm but a "perfect" trilaminar shape...so just waiting on bloodwork now to determine how to proceed...has anyone had a similar experience? pretty bummed!

    @lrywnab FX for your lining check.  Not sure if this helps but my clinic goes for anything 7, and when I did my FET earlier this month it was only 7.4 and it was enough.  I’ve heard that it has more to do with the triple layer look than the thickness.

    @loweek that completely stinks.  5mm seems pretty low.  I if you have many embryos to work with and the RE is on board I might try, but if I didn’t have many embryos and didn’t want to do another retrieval as much as I would hate it I would probably scrap the cycle and try again next month.  I’m sorry I’m sure you are frustrated and disappointed.  :(

  • @2MomsHoping congratulations!! I'm so happy for you!

    @LoweeeK I'm so sorry about your lining. at times in this process things seem so random and unexplainable... I'm sorry.
  • @2MomsHoping congrats!! Thats awesome! Just let yourself enjoy each day as it comes, don’t look ahead too much cuz thar always gets you. I have the same problem and have to slow myself down often, or hubby does it lol.

    @LoweeeK im sorry that your lining is lagging. I had the opposite issue. My lining somehow got super thick very fast after my period, but my estrogen was lagging this time or im sure they would have transferred sooner. Hang in there even though it seems discouraging right now.

    TW
    so as of right now we are officially pregnant!  Besides the 5th(yes!) test i took this morning that was darker, we got our first beta and it was 211 at 9dpt.  THey tested me a little earlier than last time this cycle.  I go for my second beta on Monday.

  • @dreamcometrue2017 @2MomsHoping @allie456 I'm so happy for you all. Take it easy and take care of yourselves during the second dreaded, two week wait for ultrasounds.

    I'm here and making it. This was a long week, I'm resisting the lure of the tests in my bathroom drawer until at least Sunday morning.

    @LoweeeK I'm with @2MomsHoping on transferring with lining issues. I'd hate to delay the transfer, so much, but I'd prefer to give the embryo the best possible chance. Good luck, I'll be thinking about you.

  • @2MomsHoping @allie456 congratulations!

    My ultrasound today finally showed a dominant follicle of 18mm! Lining looks good too at 10. Estrogen is still low which had me worried all morning until the nurse called. Apparently since the lining looks good they aren’t worried about the estrogen at all. They want me to come back tomorrow for another ultrasound and blood work and then possible trigger tomorrow or on sunday! Finally some progress :)
  • @allie456 Awesome!!!!!  Everything crossed for you guys!!! 🎉🎉🎉💕💕
