@mindyb2019 that was one my mom wrote & gave to me...I have a lot from her like that! They are so much better than having to open Pinterest and look at recipes on there all the time! I bought a recipe box & index cards a while back to write out all of my other recipes, but I’ve yet to do it...I need to get on that!

@emeraldduchess you can make your own pattern! That’s what I did with Missy! I found a website that plots it out for you and went for it! I used Stitchpoint and it’s free!

Just saw this crochet pattern and thought of you @mindyb2019 and @emeraldduchess (TW it's for a LO so the link is in a spoiler) I'm adding it to my Ravelry queue!

My adjustments: I used a 6 pound whole pork loin that I cut in half to cram into my crock pot lol. I used 3 apples instead of 2 and just increased seasonings some; I also peeled the apples. I also cut half of the butter into tiny chunks to put on top of the loins & put some of the onions & apples on top as well. Lastly, I flipped the loins when they had about an hour left. DELICIOUS!!!
Yay, I did a thing I can post! First time trying this pattern so they're my first pancake, so to speak. But I like the pattern enough that I'll probably make a couple more for Christmas gifts!
@jennifer_louise I love them!!! Also, I totally get what you mean about first pancake - I always find my second time knitting a pattern is so much better than the first, although your mittens are completely gorgeous!

Thanks ladies @mindyb2019@emeraldduchess@mvt2003! It was Plymouth Gina yarn. Normally I buy cheaper yarn but it was on mega blowout sale at our local small yarn shop and I bought 10 skeins because it was so beautiful . I still have about 4 left!
@jennifer_louise I freaking love Plymouth yarn! I would have bought all of it too! Also, 100% wool for mittens is a perfect choice!! (Your LYS isn't in MA by any chance, right? Asking for a friend...)

It’s been forever since I’ve had something to share here, so can I cheat a little and add a work in progress? Definitely going to need more time, but I got a new painting started!
AFM, H went food shopping and cooked all by himself the other night and I was very proud of him! He made a salmon pasta with spinach and lemon/wine/butter/cream sauce. I made lemon roasted asparagus to complement which I didn't photograph. I had mine with rice since pasta doesn't always agree with me but I tried it and it was very good!!! Pic in spoiler, i'm almost positive he used this recipe. He didn't add capers because the store he went to didn't have them. https://foxeslovelemons.com/creamy-salmon-pasta/

Just went through this entire thread and wow! Amazing projects going on! Love that people are teaching themselves new skills like knitting. I plan on doing that also, especially with winter coming-I want new slippers! No photo, but yesterday I cookked a full chicken in my slow cooker. It was perfect fall off the bones goodness! DH was very impressed by the entire meal. Quick roasted potatoes, mixed veggies (from frozen) and gravy from the chicken drippings! Guess I have to make this again when my FIL comes to visit, he would love this meal. Will post a photo next time if I can remember😉
I had a bajillion tomatoes ripen at the same time in my garden (ok more like 8), so I made fresh salsa with them! SOoooOoOoooo good. No real recipe - I chopped up and drained the tomatoes, added 3 diced jalapenos (only kept the seeds in one), a diced onion, a clove of garlic, some cilantro, cumin, and red pepper flakes in the end bc it wasn't spicy enough - threw in food processor. Added salt.
Froze half, eating half...probably not gonna share it with DH either. It's sooo good. I used hierloom tomatoes bc that's what I'm growing!
@saladflambe omg that looks soo delish. 😁 yummy. That’s what I need to make too. I have the same problem with all my tomatoes right now in my garden. I love the fact your not sharing it either lol 😆
I was busy today. I made fresh salsa and made Pulled Pork Adobo in the crock pot all day for dinner with mashed potatoes and asparagus 😁 it was soooo yummy.
My mom re-taught me how to knit a few weeks ago, and I’ve really been enjoying it! I learned when I was a kid, but haven’t done it in probably 20 years or more! The first picture is my first attempt at a dishrag. I wanted to wait to be able to post my second attempt as well (see second pic)! The second one actually turned out how it was supposed to, you know...square! I’ll always remember my first one though! 😂
@bluetickgal love it!!!! You’ll always think fondly on your first projects!!!

@mvt2003 thanks!! ☺️ I kind of like that the first one is...unique! Haha. I have a pattern & yarn to make a hat for DH, but I think I want to make a few more dishrags to get a little more comfortable with the basics first!
