Re: PGAL Check-in w/o 9/11
2. Previous loss(es)? 1/10/19
3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? I'm alright. I feel more energetic, but I'm also less patient with people and the world. I also have this meh approach to things like dishes and laundry. And cooking. And cleaning in general.
4. Any appointment updates? 9/24
5. Rants/Raves/Questions? Negatory
6. Any milestones coming up? 20w was a huge milestone for women in their 40s. It lowered our loss risk to 5%. Now, I'm patiently counting down the days until 90% viability, at 27w. Or not so patiently:
The Final Countdown
7. GTKY: When it comes to fall treats, do you prefer apple or pumpkin? What’s your favorite treat? I'm supposed to pick ONE???? It depends. I love Honeycrisp apples, Wasail, Cider, apple bread, etc. But, I also love pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie, cooking savory dishes with pumpkin. Pumpkin or Apple empanadas. Nope. Infact, I'm going to say instead of enjoying a hot cup of coffee with my pumpkin pie, I want a mug of cider. How about them apples...er pumpkins....er pumpkin spice fried apples?
2. Previous loss(es)? 6 losses. 12/13, 1/17, 11/17, 4/18, 9/18, 2/19
3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Surprisingly ok. I think taking the testing off the table helped stabilize me a little. I’ve been enjoying feeling movement and finally started allowing myself to get into it. Physically I need to look for a chiropractor and just take the plunge and make an appt. The middle of my
back on the right side hurts so bad sometimes and my hips and starting to be annoying as well.
4. Any appointment updates? Anatomy scan on Friday
5. Rants/Raves/Questions? I started looking into photographers for maternity, fresh 48 and newborn photos. I actually found one who is super budget friendly and takes beautiful pictures, so I’m excited about that.
6. Any milestones coming up? Each successful scan is a milestone at this point. Viability will be the big one at 24 weeks.
7. GTKY: When it comes to fall treats, do you prefer apple or pumpkin? What’s your favorite treat? Love all things apple. I grew up in the northeast so apple picking, cider, cider donuts are some of my favorite things. @fyreflyerush I could get behind some pumpkin spice fried apples though 🤤.
2. Previous loss(es)? 2002, 12/2017
3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Both super shitty. I’ve come to the end of my second trimester energy boost and can’t seem to get enough sleep. Unless I’m up and working or moving around I’m in bed resting or sleeping. I can’t get anything done and it’s frustrating. Emotionally I’m falling apart. I miss my oldest daughter something terrible and I hate that I’m not there for her when she’s going through her own emotional stuff (she’s up at college and is dealing with grown up relationship issues and I hate that I’m not there to give her all the hugs and support I can) and I had a total break down last night because being 38 and pregnant was something I had hoped to avoid (was planning on being done by 35) and now I absolutely understand why. The further along I get I realize how ill equipped my broken body is for this.
4. Any appointment updates? Still waiting to hear back about seeing the mfm. Other than that, my next regular OB appt is 10/1.
5. Rants/Raves/Questions? I had an old high school friend of mine messaged me on FB telling me I shouldn’t get my TDAP and flu shots because it’s known to cause miscarriage. She had a kid really young like I did (her son is a little less than a year younger than my oldest) and she did everything normal with him, but had two kids more recently and has turned into a super anti-vaxxer. I wanted to drive the 2 hours it would take to travel to her house and punch her in the face.
6. Any milestones coming up? Guess I’m just looking forward to the next trimester.
7. GTKY: When it comes to fall treats, do you prefer apple or pumpkin? What’s your favorite treat? Fall is my absolute favorite season not only because of the cooler weather, but also because of all the seasonal treats. I love them all. Though I could easily put an entire loaf of pumpkin bread away. Or pumpkin scones! I used to work with this woman who made AMAZING pumpkin scones.
2. Previous loss(es)? 6/2013
3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? We found out Monday evening that we are having a boy. I am still in shock. We didn't think it was really possible (H's family the men all have only girls). I am starting to get over the surprise and get super excited about being a boy mom. Also wondering how long he will be able to share a room with one of his older sisters. We had planned on putting them two and two into the two bigger bedrooms, and then turning the smaller nursery into a closet for all 4 of them. They will still be able to share, but there will be an age when they don't want to be with the opposite sex anymore - trying to decide when that might be.
Physically I feel good but tired. H is out of town. He was mostly home during the summer, but now his traveling is starting back up, which none of us are psyched about. Taking care of the other three by myself is exhausting.
4. Any appointment updates? My anatomy scan went well. I love being able to watch baby for that long. My next midwife appt is next week.
5. Rants/Raves/Questions? Nope
6. Any milestones coming up? Just waiting for viability now
7. GTKY: When it comes to fall treats, do you prefer apple or pumpkin? What’s your favorite treat? Definitely apple. And our house we bought this year has several apple trees!
BFP 3.8.16 EDD 11.20.16
@kbrown2385 I’m glad that not testing has helped ease your mind so you can enjoy this pregnancy.
@mommahov13 Now I have an intense craving for pumpkin scones!
@MollySm That’s wonderful that you have apple trees on your property! What kind of apples are they?
1. How many weeks are you? 22 weeks today
2. Previous loss(es)? DD’s twin 2/17
3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Just my usual weepy, sensitive self but really loving how active this kiddo is. I feel movement all the time now, which has been great. Physically, I am battling a cold DD gave the whole family, so that’s been rough.
4. Any appointment updates? 9/25 for my 24 week appt just with NP, I think.
5. Rants/Raves/Questions? For sciatic nerve pain (back/butt) would you guys lean more toward PT or chiro?
6. Any milestones coming up? 24 week viability is my next big one.
7. GTKY: When it comes to fall treats, do you prefer apple or pumpkin? What’s your favorite treat? I love both apple and pumpkin, which is probably part of why I enjoy autumn so much. Apple cider and apple crisp are huge favorites of mine, but I also love pumpkin bread (no nuts, though!) and pumpkin bars and pumpkin pie.
Also, about sharing rooms, my brother and I shared a room until I was in 5th grade and he was in 3rd. We were just shy of 2 years apart and we were best friends. Our parents basically had to force us to have separate rooms LOL My middle and oldest are 3.5 years apart and shared a room until like 3 and 6 and then had their own rooms for like a year and a half and then they wanted to move back in with each other. They shared until we moved into our current house 4 years ago, so ages 8 and 11.
2. Previous loss(es)? 12/18 4/19
3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? A bit of an emotional wreck to be honest. I was on a high after seeing the baby yesterday but came crashing down today. I got the ultrasound report today and was somewhat prepared from the tech but not for the potential severity. They found that I have some blood vessels near the cervix or crossing it. Anyways, I have to have a follow up with a high risk OB which scares the heck out of me. Then I googled Vasa previa which is what is indicated on this ultrasound and that was a mistake so even though it's unconfirmed and could change, I'm pretty scared. I know that I'm in good hands but I feel a bit in limbo at the moment.
4. Any appointment updates? Sooner than I would like probably...
5. Rants/Raves/Questions? Anyone know of good outcomes with this? I know if it stays I'll have a c section at 35-36 weeks and likely be hospitalized from 32 weeks...
6. Any milestones coming up? Now I can't wait for viability more than ever!
7. GTKY: When it comes to fall treats, do you prefer apple or pumpkin? What’s your favorite treat? Honestly I like them equally just not pumpkin spice on its own. The pumpkin stuff has to have pumpkin in it!
Though the fact that it has been picked up and will be monitored by specialists and the best possible care given to you & baby can be some comfort hopefully! Sending you all the creepy internet hugs! xxx
BFP 3.8.16 EDD 11.20.16
@DalexRN well it's likely good news that you don't meet criteria for a C section yet as weird as that sounds. It's so hard to be in limbo. Thinking of you!
2. Previous loss(es)? Sep 2018 and Mar 2019
3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? pretty good, no issues right now, just the hip pain etc.
4. Any appointment updates? I had my midwife on tuesday where she gave me the rec for the glucose test and some blood work. She said to do it any time between now and 28 weeks, I think I will wait more closely to mid 26 weeks to do it. Also at the appointment they measured my fundal height which matched up right with my weeks pregnant so I thought that was cool
5. Rants/Raves/Questions?
6. Any milestones coming up? viability is here! Now let's get to the third trimester
7. GTKY: When it comes to fall treats, do you prefer apple or pumpkin? What’s your favorite treat? it's hard to go between the pumpkin and apple, both are so awesome, I have 2 apple tree's so I definitely make a lot of apple dessert's now in the fall but when I'm out I enjoy pumpkin pie the best
@kbrown2385 good luck at your anatomy scan tomorrow!
@EmilyE13 I would check out both PT and chiro if possible. PT will help for long term resolve of the issue, chiro can help manage it quickly. When I had sever sciatic pain and post partum issues I did both but ultimately it was the Chiro who also did electro-acupuncture that solved the issue in the end
@biolprof sorry to hear about your US results, do you know when your follow-up is?
@DalexRN good idea to join the FB group to learn more about it.Thinking of you!
2. Previous loss(es)? My son at 17 Weeks
3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Doing good this week, mostly because I had my A/S and I now have reassurance that everything looks good with baby. Except her cord (see above).
4. Any appointment updates? I see my OB next week and will discuss his thoughts on precautions with a velamentous cord insertion. Then a fetal echo 10/1, which is now being done by a pediatric cardiologist due to strong family and personal history of congenital heart defects ( I had open heart surgery as a child, my daughter had 2 VSD's).
5. Rants/Raves/Questions? I've started getting terrible charley horses in my calves at night. Anyone else?
6. Any milestones coming up? Viability in 2 weeks!
7. GTKY: When it comes to fall treats, do you prefer apple or pumpkin? What’s your favorite treat? Tough one! I love both but apple probably wins by a hair. Apple cider, apple crisp, taffy apples...yummy!
