When I had an ultrasound last week, it was abdominal. They were going to do transvaginal too if they couldn't see everything they needed to, but they were able to.
The 32oz of water thing is a total nightmare and not actually possible for me. The last few times I've had to do it (I've had cysts and fibroids, so lots of ultrasounds), I just start drinking about an hour before my appointment and stop when I feel like I have to pee.
@sanpelligrino I'm assuming mine will be abdominal since I was told to drink 32 oz of water before the scan tomorrow.
Ohh no! I had to drink 32 oz of water and I had to pee SO bad the whole ultrasound and he pushed on my bladder with the ultrasound head the whole time!
@mflowers929 my kidneys work very fast too, i have to pee even if I've had little water. I asked to excuse myself before the doctor started with my ultrasound today as i had to pee, despite peeing right before leaving work. What's worse, i had already changed into the open hospital gown and had to hold the gown together so it wont expose me completely, as i walked thru the corridor to the restroom. What a joke lol luckily the rooms and bathrooms were in a private area .
@sanpelligrino I had a LOT of ultrasounds, because he wouldn't get in position for the anatomy scan (I had to go back 3 times) and then later because of the cholestasis. If I drank too much water it literally blocked parts so they couldn't see. Not sure how that happened but that's what the tech told me before she sent me to pee in the middle of an ultrasound lol

Yes i was told that once as well, that when the bladder is full it might squish certain parts that you would otherwise see. WOW 3 ultrasounds for an anatomy scan?
That makes sense. Yes, he was the wrong way to properly visualize his heart. She could see it and see it looked fine, but they needed the pictures a certain way and he wasn't cooperating. I almost had to go back a fourth time.

We had our first ultrasound today & we both may have shed a few happy tears. Since this is mine & my husbands first we didn’t know what to expect. I’m 8w0d today & the ultrasound tech (she was so nice!) was able to find the baby right away with an abdominal ultrasound. Heart rate is 160 & keeping the due date of 4/23. We’re so so so happy 😁
Had my first appointment today. I thought I was 9wk2days but measured at 8wk6days so not far off. Saw and heard a healthy heartbeat of 178bmp. I was so nervous because I had a miscarriage in March. This is my first baby, I’m 36. Very happy day.
We had our first ultrasound on the 10th! Baby is measuring right on track with a heart rate of 180. We even got to see him or her moving their arms and legs during the scan! How crazy
We had ours on 9/13. Measuring 8 weeks 6 days and strong heart beat of 176! Our little rainbow baby is due 4/18/20. Such a relief to see everything is looking good!!
Had our first ultrasound today! Looks like I’m not the only one here who drank the water and was told my bladder was TOO full haha. Oh my goodness I was nearly yelling I had to pee so bad. She made me go to the bathroom and count to 15 while peeing THREE TIMES to shrink my bladder down in size, before we could get started. She let me know the standard 1 litre is far too much for me lol. I was happy to hear that since it was torture to hold that in the waiting room. Measuring at 7W 2D, heart rate was 140bpm and then 150bpm when checking again. She said that was in the normal range. So happy to now have an official due date of April 27th!
We saw our baby today!!! Measuring 7 weeks 6 days which is a lot closer to what I thought than what was being predicted (9 weeks). It was wild seeing that little flickering of our little bean's heart going strong. The video was clearer than our printouts, but in the video we could clearly see all four little limb buds!
First ultrasound today, finally!! I calculated based on my LMP being 8w+1d and baby is measuring exactly that. Due date is confirmed April 26th (my anniversary). It was so amazing to see the little heartbeat 😍 I cried.. I was overwhelmed with emotion lol. It's so real now!
Had my ultrasound and I'm measuring small/behind at 6w2d. Which isn't a huge issue because DS measured small through my whole pregnancy with him (except his head which measured ahead). Saw a heartbeat of about 125. I'm thinking I'll probably have another ultrasound in about a week or two to make sure it's growing, but I have to wait for the doctor to get the report.

We had our 12 week appointment today and everything is on track and as expected- NT was normal range and a hb of 144. We had the blood draw for cell-free DNA testing (I think prequel) and will receive the results in 1-2 weeks- we can’t wait!
First appointment and dating ultrasound today! Baby is measuring right on track with LMP so keeping my due date of 4/23/20! Heart rate was 171 and everything looked great!
Had our appointment yesterday. Baby measuring right on track at 9 weeks with 179bpm heart rate. Due date confirmed April 22nd (although I’m having a repeat CS so it will be closer to April 15th.) It was a great way to spend my birthday getting to see our little sprout!

First OB apt today at 10 + 5 after being discharged from our RE’s office. Quick ultrasound showed both babies were on track and moving with heartbeats in the 170s. ❤️❤️
Finally had my first ultrasound today and got a bit of a surprise! Based on what I thought my LMP was, I had calculated my EDD as 4/30 which would’ve put me at 8 weeks. However, apparently my last period was not actually a period and my ultrasound showed that I am actually 11 weeks, 6 days, putting my new EDD at 4/4! I heard the baby’s heartbeat and saw the baby moving all around. So crazy!
I had my 12 week appointment yesterday and was thrilled that baby is still on track (and looking much more like a baby!) Baby was super active during the ultrasound as well. It was wild to see our bean sprout moving all around!
Had my 12w check in today, the doctor tried using the doppler but couldn't find the baby's heartbeat as it was wiggling around. The trans-abdominal ultrasound gave us a pretty good view and measured the heartbeat at 160. Everything looked good otherwise.

Had my first ultrasound at my OBGYN on 9/30 where they confirmed that I am 9 weeks 4 days. My LMP would have put me at 12 weeks 3 days, but I have PCOS so my cycles are longer and I don't ovulate most months. This babe is 5+ years coming - and I'm thrilled. Due on 4/30/20.
@sbalding88 congrats and welcome your ultrasound looks so much like mine did at 10 weeks. You might want to edit your post to remove your personal information like name etc from the pic.....
