Trying to Get Pregnant

WTO Tuesday 9/10

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Thanks for keeping this a safe place for us all to engage!**

  • **lurking**

    @inthewoods23 Good luck today!
  • Loading the player...
  • @gingermama29  I hope you get to go to the conference. Is it local or will you get to travel?
  • @bows22 relatively local. It'll be an hour drive but I do get reimbursed for mileage. I like your approach to getting the sucky co-worker off your back. Hopefully that does it!
  • @bows22 I am also super cranky, so I'm right there with you. I also would have closed the email with "Best, MVT" because that is code for YOU HAVE PISSED ME OFF :D Honestly, someone else's lack of planning is not my emergency, you know?

@gingermama29 FX you get approved to go to the conference!!! Is it in a fun place, or just a conference center?

@inthewoods23 I am so hyped for you today, I'm going to be thinking about you all day today!!! Hoping everything goes well, and anxiously awaiting an update as soon as you're able to! <3<3<3

  • @inthewoods23 thinking of you today!  Good luck!!!   ;)

@gingermama29 Sorry for AF... Your music conference sounds so fun!  Hope you get the approval.  Going back to the celebrity look-a-like... it didn't even occur to me that you would have red hair by your screen name.  I eat a lot of ginger/ginger chews so in my mind you loved ginger like I do,  hahahaha   :D

@bows22 Sorry for AF... Ugh, hate annoying coworkers.  Now you set the precedent so let's hope they get it!

@mvt2003 Sorry for AF... I think a day on the couch with some sort of sweet like ice cream is deserved!

@misshelen86 Good luck with your results today!  Try not to stress.  Acupuncture sounds great, I've always wanted to try it.  Do they focus mostly on TTC, or other areas as well?

R/R:  Rave:  My SIL wedding this weekend was perfect - gorgeous weather, good food/music, beautiful venue and they looked so stunning.  Of course I cried during the ceremony.  It was a short ceremony and the bridal party stayed standing next to them the whole time.  I took my SIL bouquet and held it up to cover the fact that I was taking a tissue out of my bra lolol... no one noticed.  Thank you all who wished me well  <3

Rant:  I'm so sleep deprived!!  The entire weekend I stayed up way too late and woke up early, and Sunday my stomach was upset all night and I have issues sleeping if I'm nauseous.  Still didn't feel so hot yesterday so I didn't post.  Last night was supposed to be my night to catch up and my dog wouldn't stop licking and biting his paws.  He sometimes has allergies in the fall.  I tried giving him a half of a Benedryl but it didn't do anything.  I'll give him an oatmeal bath tonight.  Going to be a long day.

R/R: I gave myself the trigger shot last night all by myself! Woot Woot! (Big deal for this needle-phobic who used to pass out everytime I got a shot or labs)!

So I woke up this morning with a raging UTI... called my doctor panicked because I thought they would cancel my IUI. They said not to worry that it won't effect it and to go to an urgent care for antibiotics. I go, get the prescription and I'm halfway to work and the urgent care doctor calls and asks me to come back. I get there and they put me in the exam room and the doctor and nurse come in all excited... the pregnancy tests had come back positive... from the trigger shot! They felt horrible! But it was cute how excited they were for me and they told me to call back in two weeks and let them know how it goes.

    CS/Q: None yet.

  • @ziggymama06 So glad to hear the wedding was a success!  I love weddings. Hope you are feeling better. My acupuncturist specializes in fertility, so that is what we focus on. He is also a medical doctor, so he can order tests and make referrals as needed. I’m so lucky to have found him.. he’s the biggest sweetheart. He calls me munchkin haha  :D. Anyway, I find acupuncture really relaxing.. it is supposed to help regulate the hormones too.

  • @ziggymama06 awww thank you so much!! When we were picking the bands out I was originally looking for one that would match the engagement ring, for some reason I thought they needed to match LOL.  I was getting frustrated because I wasn't finding anything that fit with ring and then the Jeweler told me that they did not need to match and that the purpose of the band was to compliment or accent the engagement ring, not to blend in.  He showed me this one and I fell in love!

@feather_heather OMG!!!!!!!! At least you got confirmation that the trigger shot worked  :D I hope the meds kick in soon for your UTI - those things SUCK! So glad you can still do the IUI!

@ziggymama06 - Thank you! It was an interesting way to confirm that the shot worked for sure! lol

@bows22 - They both came into the room smiling from ear to ear and handed me the tests... They were so bummed when I broke the news. The MA hugged me and said "I thought I was going to be a nana!" (literally just met her 20 mins prior) haha

@gingermama29 Your music conference sounds awesome.  I secretly love conferences, and though most of my coworkers do not like them, I always volunteer!  Talking to strangers?  Eating buffet?  Not being at work?  What's not to love!?

@bows22 I love that email.  I occasionally have to copy a partner on something; I always feel both like an A**hole, and like celebrating.

@mvt2003 AF sucks.  Mine was beastly this cycle, too, and I want to complain to the management about it.

  • @mvt2003 it's at a conference center and 3 nearby hotels that are connected with a sky walkway over the street. It's a statewide conference. Sorry AF has been such a beast. As if her arrival isn't bad enough, she has to punish us too. Ugh. Hope you feel better soon.

@misshelen86 FX for good results! Enjoy your acupuncture appointment.

@kpearse99 have fun in Houston!! Glad travel will be slowing down after this though.

@whatsbumpinpumpkin yay for your friend but I also definitely get the jealousy too. The mixed emotions are so hard.

@ziggymama06 oh haha, yup I'm a full out ginger - red hair and freckles. Glad you had a fun family wedding weekend! Sounds like it was beautiful.

@feather_heather you are a champ for giving yourself the shot!! I'm also a needle-phobe. Sorry for the UTI but I'm glad it won't affect your IUI.

@litigatorgal one of the reasons I love going to this conference so much is I get to see a lot of friends from college! My cooperating teachers from student teaching usually attend too and it's always so fun to catch up with everyone. Plus I love the workshops and performances.

@begging4abump sorry you're struggling with bottling emotions. I hope that visualization of sending it down a river helps.

Whew, I think I got everyone!

R/R: Today was a busy day, glad the workday is over now! Now I’m ready to relax with DH and eat some leftover veggie soup with grilled cheese!  Hope you all had a good day!!

    CS/Q: None.

@gingermama29 the music conference sounds fun...hope your school approves it so you can go! That’ll be cool to catch up with friends from college if so!

@bows22 ugh, sorry for the coworker drama...but bravo for hopefully shutting him up now. Sorry for the AF crankiness though!

@mvt2003 sorry AF is being a jerk!! Hope the run/workout helps!

@misshelen86 saw your IF post...I think they are pretty common and go away on their own often...hope yours does and doesn’t cause any issues!!  Hope you got all your errands done and got to relax some before going back to work tomorrow!

@kpearse99 ugh, no sign of AF over here either...although I’ve still got my fingers crossed she doesn’t show for you! Hope you enjoy your work trip!!

@whatsbumpinpumpkin sorry for the missed temp, hopefully it wont affect conforming O though! I totally understand the mixed feelings! Sending hugs! 💜

@ziggymama06 so glad the wedding went well!! Hope you can catch up on sleep soon!! One of our dogs gets allergies this time of year too...we have started giving her a Zyrtec in cheese and it seems to help some! Have also been giving her more frequent baths with oatmeal shampoo! I feel so bad for her itching all the time! 😕 Hope your dog gets better soon!

@feather_heather yay for doing the trigger yourself!! 👏🏻 So sorry for the UTI...and the “fake” positive! So cute they were excited for you and want an update though!

@begging4abump love your visualization technique! Hope it continues to help! I’ve also been known to bottle up emotions, but I’ve gotten better about sharing them with DH at least! I do need to learn to let anxieties go though...if I can’t change it, just let it go!
  • @gingermama29 I hope that conference gets approved. Sounds like perfect timing too.

@bows22 I love when people have reviews that they need to improve something,  and they still make it about other people. *eyeroll *

@mvt2003 there is no way you could get me to run day 2 of AF. I have terrible experiences running during AF.

@bluetickgal I also had grilled cheese tonight! With tomato soup :)

@begging4abump that is a great visualization! I am an over sharer, but don't always deal with them and they still come back up later.

@feather_heather awesome job with the trigger shot! I don't know if I could do it myself. Also, sorry about the uti.

@kpearse99 will you go back in for monitoring if you haven't gotten AF by a certain day?

I'm sorry I can't reply to everyone today,  but know Im always lurking ;)

R/R: I am SLAMMED at work lately and just can't catch up. It's so exhausting going to work every day and feeling like I'm taking two steps back for every step I accomplish. I am working really hard on leaving work at work and getting out on time. I think I'm doing a good job and then H will make a comment about me staying late Again.  Its hard y'all. I just cant win. I either feel like I'm failing work, or failing at being a wife. I'm also getting anxious about restarting testing and what our path forward is. Just ugh too much mental load.

    CS/Q: nope

  • @bluetickgal I’m droooooooling at the thought of your dinner! It sounds so good!!
Mane who knows, as far as I go 🤣 my boobs are typically sore 5 days before AF arrived and I got nothing! The last two cycles were 38-40 days long so I thought I’d be feeling something by now.

@millpe if AF doesn’t come by this weekend I will call my RE and set up bloodwork to try and determine where I am in my cycle. As far as work and life goes... I hear ya. I’ve been there. MH goes through it too with his work and working late. At the end of the day though, what matters most to you? Your life with YH or work? Work is work.... but your life is YOUR LIFE. I do believe there are happy mediums in this scenario but you have to figure them out like a trial and error. Maybe you only work late two nights a week. Or can you work through your lunch? (A lot of people don’t like to do that, but I’m used to it... often i would rather eat lunch at my desk and keep working so I can get my stuff done and leave when I’m supposed to) I also get that it’s your name on things at work. You own your own amount of efforts. So i see both sides, just trying to help give you options and let you know that at the end of the day... YH is there for you, and your family will be there for you.... not your job. ♥️♥️♥️ I hope you find some clarity soon though.

  • @bluetickgal you probably talked about this and I missed it, but when do you think your next cycle will start?  also grilled cheese is the best dinner sometimes!

@millpe I so feel your work stress right now. Is it a temporary thing where if you put your nose to the ground for the next couple of weeks you can go back to normal again? If so, I say go for it so you can put it behind you!
  • @kpearse99 Uggggh, I am SO not looking forward to that though.
@millpe last month was like that for me. I’m so thankful it’s calmed down this month

  • @bluetickgal ooh veggie soup and grilled cheese sounds heavenly!  Did you make the veggie soup?  I'm looking for a good recipe if you'd like to share?  Thanks for the tip with Zytec!  My vet said half a Benedryl because it is mild so I never would have thought of another allergy med.  We give our dog pills in a bit of peanut butter.  He started detecting it in cheese and turkey and would spit it out!!  I have him an oatmeal bath tonight and seemed to help slightly... may need another one tomorrow night.  What type of dog do you have?

@millpe I've totally been there with work and DH.  Hopefully this is something temporary and hubs can just understand that.  I worked full time and put myself through school in the evenings so there was a few years where I would be home late 2-3 times a week and every Saturday morning.  It's tough but you guys can get through it.  Just talk it out.  Now I'm late from work once or twice a month if I have a late meeting.  I totally get that burnt out failing feeling... hang in there you're doing great!
