    Hi Ladies....

It's confirmed that I will be having my FET in September. This will be my second FET. I got pregnant with my first FET, but unfortunately I miscarried at 8 weeks. We used donor eggs and unfortunately the fetus tested positive for Trisomy 22. So here we are again... I started my birth control pill on 8/8. I will be taking my last birth control pill on 9/1. I started my Lupron on 8/28 after my mock sonogram. Hopefully my period will come within 4-5 days after taking my last birth control pill. I will come in on  cycle day 2 or 3 for blood work and ultrasound and will start estrace. My RE said the transfer will probably be the last week of September. I'm excited to be apart of this group and want to wish everyone good luck.

    Thanks,

    Ronda

Good luck to everyone transfering soon and hoping for BFP for all who already transferred! I am impatiently waiting for my transfer on sept 4. Ive been taking antibiotics for a few days and i started the dreaded crinone two nights ago. I had almost, ALMOST, forgotten what the crinone entailed, but i guess i shouldnt complain when some of you badass ladies are dealing with those awful PIO shots.  I am getting sooo nervous that this time will not go as smoothly as the last one. I think the fact that its the last one is making me much more nervous. Im also super stressed out as my cousin is due sept 23rd and her doctor is thinking he will have to induce her any day now and i have not told my family we are doing a second transfer, hoping to keep it a surprised until we know if it was successful or not.  Now im worried about not being available the day she goes into labor and not knowing what to tell everyone since i have to be on bed rest that day. Im usually always available. Ugh the extra stress is killing me as i am a natural worrier and just cant shut that part of my brain off!

  • @dreamcometrue2017 goodness it sounds like you have a lot going on! GL with your transfer tomorrow!

Who else is excited it's September??! I had my last monitoring appointment and everything is good. Lining is almost 11mm. My RE mentioned I'm going to want to have someone else do the PIO shots for me, is it really that difficult to inject? This is my first FET so I don't know what to expect with the PIO.

Any other tips or words of wisdom for me being my first FET?

  • @inthewoods23 - My husband helps me push in the PIO because it is so thick and takes a while to go in (fingers get tired). I warm it up with a heating pad first. seems to help. I HAVE done it a couple of times on my own and it isn't impossible. Just a little harder. Good luck!!

  • @ladyp0tter thanks for the insight! I'll definitely have to remember to warm up the vials. The estradiol valerate was fine until I had to start pushing 0.3mL through, that was a little tough but not too bad (just took time). Thankfully DH is only away on a business trip for 1 night so I'll only have minimum 2 injections that I'm forced to do on my own.

  • @rondah28 Good Luck! I hope that transfer two is the lucky one. Both my miscarriages ate 9 weeks were due to trisomy 21 .

@dreamcometrue2017 I can't believe you are transferring tomorrow! Sending you a bunch of baby dust. Did they decide to induce your cousin after all?

@inthewoods23 I always warm up the oil before injecting too and I make sure to ice the area before as well. I suggest you massage afterwards to distribute the oil.
  • @rondah28 Oh, I've got everything crossed for you. The journey through donor eggs is a special version of hard, having "seen" so many ladies work through that process here.

@inthewoods23 We are almost there, appointment this morning for me also, so long as the bw comes back in range we are looking good for Monday transfer for me. Eep! I've found that the PIO shots are hard mostly due to the placement that they want them. If you can brace your upper body against something and torque your lower body I've found it helps. I only had to do it myself just the once last time. Definitely warm the oil somehow, it helps it go faster.

@dreamcometrue2017 Dealing with the stress of this journey is way more hard (for me) than the actual shots and appointments. Give yourself a ton of grace.

@jessica8bryant Welcome to September! Are you learning which embryo your transferring? Now that you know that the embryos are normal are you still considering transferring two?

  • Thanks ladies! Im just trying to take it easy while taking care of a toddler and driving to the hospital for my cousin at least 40 min each way. She ended up going into labor naturally yesterday morning and delivered a healthy baby girl this morning! 10lbs 9oz! That was some labor.

@inthewoods23 sorry i cant help with the PIO shots. Hope you find a way that makes it easier for you to get through.

Praying everything goes well tomorrow and we get a sticky baby!

  • @inthewoods23 I had to do my own PIO several times, and I managed to get the hang of it.  I think I gave some detailed instructions not too long ago in ttgp for another member if you wanted to search.  I agree, getting a good hand position to push the oil is maybe the hardest part, but totally doable!  I also recommend having your gauze quite handy when it's time to remove the needle, just in case you get a bleeder.  I only made that mistake once and it went all over the place, but if you are ready quick with the gauze every time... it'll never happen. 🤦 Lol. You got this!
  • Well ladies, i just got back home from my transfer. Still feeling a little loopy from the valium, but otherwise im good!the nurse told us it went textbook perfect, so lets hope the end result is perfect too. I have to go in on the 9th for my progesterone test and my first beta will be the 13th. So now we wait.   Hubby just went to pick up the baby from his parents house and get me something yummy to eat! Im gonna veg out and watch reruns of 90210 and remember the good old days hehe

  • Hi ladies I’m late to the party I was going to be in the August group but a delayed AF and stomach flu slowed things down a bit for me. Everything is kinda funky with this cycle so it’s zapped my optimism but maybe that’s just the hormones. I had my transfer yesterday (1PGS) and my beta is on 9/11. I love hearing all your transfer rituals. I took a conference call on the way there and answered emails while waiting for the doc to come in. Then went straight back to work. I think taking the day off would have been a better plan.

@dreamcometrue2017 congrats on your transfer!  And looking forward seeing lots of BFPs in this group :)

@dreamcometrue2017 You and 2MomsHoping first transfers for our month. I hoping for a ton of positives this month. Do whatever you need to, to keep your brain from SS like crazy.

@2MomsHoping perhaps your optimism is just buried behind a bit of 'been there, done that'. Plus a stomach bug kills everything. Was it just you or did it make the rounds with the whole fam? I found myself in a similar mind space, for example I did all the appointments (minus the initial consult) on my own this time. I did make plans to take the transfer day off though. Take it easy as much as possible and delegate at work where you can.

DH gave me the first PIO shot last night, no news from my clinic on my bloodwork so we are on track for Monday's transfer.

Everyone let us know how you are doing? What do you absolutely love to do during fall?
I'm a fall griller here in hot Texas. Summer grilling isn't nearly as fun when its 101 with 60% humidity. That first cold front where that little taste of cooler weather, I totally love it every year.

@dreamcometrue2017 glad the transfer went well! Hope you get your BFP!

@2MomsHoping stomach flu - what a bummer! DH has been sick for the last week or 2 with some kind of cold bug. Thankfully I never picked it up but I would be so bummed if getting sick pushed back my FET. Hopefully the choice not to take the day off doesn't affect anything and you get your BFP!

@stella_700 my first PIO was this morning and I did it myself. I always forget to stretch my skin before stabbing the needle. Oh well! I thought it would be tougher to inject the oil, but it probably helped that I warmed it up with my body heat for a good 10-15 minutes. DH goes on a 1 night business trip tomorrow so I had to make sure I could do the PIO myself without issue.

AFM, I booked a facial for Sunday and a massage for Monday to help get relaxed for my transfer on Tuesday. I also have my routine haircut on Monday. Originally that was planned for 2 weeks ago but things got busy so I figure why not move it to right before the transfer because I always feel refreshed after a haircut.

For fall, I love drinking up all the hot beverages like hot chocolate and apple cider 😁

ETA - sorry, on mobile so I'm having some fat fingers today with all these typos

  • My favorite fall activity is to go to an orchard. We have apple cider doughnuts and go apple picking. Afterwards we go to their buffet that’s full of very unhealthy comfort food and then stop at the outlet mall go some shopping on the way home.

@stella_700 we were so lucky. I was the only one that got it in the house but I got it really really bad. I had to go in for fluids but after that I turned the corner and was more or less ok. Since not too much time passed they just delayed my monitoring appointment a few days and lucky the estrogen must have kept things in check so I didn’t ovulate. My lining was 7.4. Usually it’s around 9 but they told me anything above 7 is fine so I’m trying to go with it. I think I do have a bit of been there done that and after 2.5 years of treatments last time I guess I can’t imagine this being as easy as one transfer.

@inthewoods23 a little self pampering goes a long way. Anything you can to reduce stress during this process is a big win!

@dreamcometrue2017 @2MomsHoping Good luck! I will be praying you both get positive results! Try to relax and enjoy the moment as much as you can.

My favorite fall activity is decorating. I just did that this weekend and I love the way everything turned out! I am also happy football is back...that will make time go by a lot faster smile:

  • Thanks ladies! Im taking it as easy as i can with a 17 month old running around, but hubby has been awesome, he took two days off to do everything for me and our son. Ive been up a bit more today, but still taking it easy.  Jax(our son) has been super extra cuddly with me, its awesome.   Im really anxious to test, i don’t think i can wait until next week, i know im crazy.

My fav fall thing to do is similar to @2MomsHoping we go to the same apple orchard every year for their amazing apple cider donuts and cider, hubby gets their cider hot dogs, then we sometimes go into the corn maze.  We go apple picking with my family at another orchard by my sisters house.  Hubby and i will also try to do some hiking. Last time i was pregnant hubby made me go so i can stay active, but i enjoyed it.

I start PIO injections tomorrow and hopefully transfer on 9/12.

I'm going to the pumpkin patch this year. I'll be taking my twins (22 mo) for the first time. I'm looking forward to it.

@marfi236 finally moving forward, I'm looking forward to hearing great news on you finally getting a date.

@dreamcometrue2017 @inthewoods23 I'll test, so I'll be prepared one way or another. My transfer is schedule for this next Monday, I'll probably test either the next Sunday or Monday. Waiting to test until at least 6 days is my preference. I don't want to have to wait and test again to get accurate results. My clinic hasn't given me a date on my test day yet but last time it was 10 days.

  • Hello Ladies. I’m in the process of combing through this thread and trying to see how everyone is doing. In the meantime... I have a question... We had a successful IVF cycle in 2016. Our son will be 3 in Dec. We currently have 7 embryos frozen (sorry I don’t know all the abbreviations yet) 😁 we are now doing a FET cycle to try and give him a playmate 😁 As hormonal as I was during the IVF cycle and all the injections, it seems like this FET cycle is kicking my butt. I feel like a complete basket case all the time. I just don’t remember feeling this way with the IVF. I didn’t take Estrace for the IVF cycle but I’m taking it now for the FET. Is the estrogen messing with anyone else like this or am I just crazy lol. I go in tomorrow for a lining check and fingers crossed the transfer will be on the 17th. I just got the PIO in the mail and the needles are HUGE 😫
  • @stella_700 Best of luck today, friend!!! 💖
  • Welcome @stellegalascione yeah, the eatrace can be rough.  I remember having bad headaches onnit before.  The needle is the scariest (looking) part!  But you can totally handle the PIO.  It will all be so worth it ;). GL!!!
  • @inthewoods23 @cmhme your transfers are both so close!  How are you ladies feeling?
  • @stella700 happy transfer day!!!!!

@rondah28 glad you got your date it will be here before you know it.

Sont worry @cmhme the needle won’t look so big after awhile. But maybe I’m a baby and I still think they hurt sometimes. Especially when real estate for the injections begins to run out :/

@stellagalascione I had trouble with the estrace too the first week or two I was really moody and just not myself. Though it seems like the symptoms kinda faded off for me after week two.

  • @stellegalascione I don't think I've felt too much different (I'm on estradiol valerate shots). I think the PIO has affected me the most - feeling tired! I had 1 shot of PIO in the AM on Thursday and I wanted to fall asleep at my desk at work  :D but things have been fine since for me. I seem to be someone who doesn't feel too different from medications. Guess I got lucky in that regard  :#

@BusinessWife currently I'm in super excited mode! The choice to take today through the day after the FET has already shown to be a fantastic idea for me. I think I finally have a handle on preventing the shots from making me ache so much. Over the weekend getting up from the couch would make me wince and stuff, but today seems to be a lot better. I did go for a walk yesterday evening so that probably helped worked the muscle a bit  :)
