@shoogapoff that's a hard choice but I think you did the right thing. Save a little money and hopefully the lining will thicken up if you need to do another cycle. I'm sure it was hard but try not to beat yourself up about it!
@shoogapoff did they say what thickness your lining was at? Different RE’s have different desires so it might be low at your place but fine at another. Hopefully the estrogen helps boost it up though! I think you made a good choice that compromised moving forward but saving some money.
@shoogapoof That sounds like a good compromise. And hopefully the extra time you have to know about & treat the thin lining next cycle is just what you need. But FX you don’t need to think about it because hopefully TI will be enough!
@shoogapoff I'm sorry you didn't get the best results at your scan. I think you made the decision that was best for you and your DH. That's what matters most. 💚
@shoogapoff Yeah it’s a bit thin. I think they want greater than 7, so I think it’s a good choice. Not sure how quickly / much the estrogen can make a difference in two days though. Fingers crossed for you!
@emeraldduchess oh yeah, I feel you on that shock. *TW someone else’s LO mentioned*
There was one lady I knew was KU when we started trying 9 months ago, but she never really showed and yesterday at drop off she had an infant. Happy for her, but how the hell did that much time pass?!?
AFM, I’m still spotting a bit, but my temp is up and OPK was almost positive yesterday and then lighter today, but still close to positive. *TW MC mentioned* I know temps and LH can be inaccurate AL, so I don’t know what to think. My body used to confuse me all the time, but it had gotten way more predictable the last few months... */TW* We were going to wait until 9/12 to monitor for O, but now I’m going to the RE tomorrow because of temp rise, very small amount of EWCM, and O type pain. Did the saline sonogram mess with anyone’s cycle? Did you ovulate early, around the same time, or later than usual? I used to be all over the place and have false surges, so I’m wondering if that is what’s happening. It’s only CD9 and my follicles weren’t that close to mature on CD6 (under 10 mm). I do have a cyst on the outside of my ovary, but the RE didn’t think it was making any difference.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
@NYTino24. I remember last time my saline messing with O, yes. My normally perfect digital opks never peaked? If I remember correctly.... Fx they are able to see everything when you go in and don't miss it!
@nitnat007. Happy Birthday, dear friend! 🎉 How did your day turn out?
@hanshotfirst77 So grateful for your excellent results!!!!
@shoogapoff. I'm sorry they effectively cancelled your iui. Glad you were able to make a quick decision tho to make the most of it (((hugs)))
Thanks, friends ❤️❤️❤️ Trying to be patient, but hopefully our time will be soon...
@mokay19. Good for you calling and advocating for yourself!!! 👏👏👏 The loan part sucks, but at least you're able to find a way. Sometimes we have to get creative to make things happen! Still lucky and blessed to have the opportunity for treatment, kwim? (((Hugs))). AFM, we got a second opinion from another Ob last cycle (they found a way to squeeze me in sooner than Sept 16th when I hand delivered my chart 🤷) who seems to have a very different opinion from my original Ob. So it's tough to say yet - potentially could involve switching Ob practices / hospitals. Crazy as that sounds / feels. But of course, still totally normal if a person feels that's where they will get the care that feels right for them! Right??? So we'll see what happens...
ETA @keikilove. So hopeful the intralipids are your golden ticket!!! (((Hugs))) how long to you have to be on them prior to transfer?
@shoogapoff yes, 5 is a little thin... and like NYTino said, I don't know the rate that it thickens so hopefully you can get up closer to the 7 before attempted implantation and it'll be just fine
@NYTino24 my salines have never messed with my O day... but I O later anyway so the salines have been about 2 weeks before O.
@BusinessWife I totally feel lucky to even be able to do a loan. It's not ideal (obviously, no debt is) but to have that option is better than nothing! I always hate the thought of changing doctors, but I totally agree that if you're going to receive good care that is more in line with your thoughts and desires then you should go for it! It's a temporary hassle/annoyance to hopefully ease a lot of future stress and annoyance.
@shoogapoff I agree with the others 5 does sound a bit thin. I think my RE says he wants it at least a 7. Hopefully the estrogen does the trick! Fx!
@NYTino24 I don't think the saline sono ever messed with my O but like @mokay19 I typically O late anyways so I don't think it was an issue. I hope you get some answers at your RE appt.
@BusinessWife I'm so glad you got that second opinion and it meshes so much better with your ideal timing. Switching docs is a hassle but it may be a hassle worth doing in the end. But I am sure either way you guys will make a decision that is right for you.
I wrote on the boxes of all my meds of when to start taking them and how much. WELL I wrote down the 6th on everything and while I'm doing my AM PIO shot just I'm like "oh shit TODAY is the 6th! @shoogapoff echoing everyone that 5 too thin. I think my RE likes to see at least 8mm. If you can get it bumped up to 7 I think the chances are still pretty good, but it's not optimal.

Thank you for all the lovely birthday wishes ladies. So much love to you all!
@kpearse99 Thanks girl. I know it is a struggle that most of us face. I remember the days when I would laugh when my mother joked about artificially inseminating me if I had not given her grand kids by 30. Oh how that feels like such a long time ago. To be that naive again. @hanshotfirst77 So thrilled on that great report! FX! @NYTino24 Sorry that you have had a rough few days. You are getting things done and moving forward. I hope that all your results come back and give you some answers or a plan to move forward. @mokay19 I am excited for you! And still hoping that you will be a unicorn though. That would be amazing! @splashmountain Good luck on that repeat! @keikilove Glad that you had a bit of a break, even if it was not a planned one. A good reset is good for our hearts and brains too. not just electronics! You are so right about age these days. I know it isn't everything, but I just can't help it popping into the brain though. @b_1029 That is so tough when you are trying to avoid something and it just keeps following you are around everywhere. It is always the way though. We are here for the vent session though. And know that you are not alone. @shoogapoff For what its worth, I think you made the right call. Seeing how your body responds to estrogen etc is also good info for the future. @BusinessWife Thank you friend! The day itself was good. DH and I went out to an oyster bar for dinner, dessert bar followed by a drag show that one of friends was involved in. It was a nice evening. Cake helps! So good to see you here. @inthewoods23 Haha I had a few med panics when I cycled too. Calendars and reminders help. I also set up an alarm on my phone for anything that wasn't once a day.
@inthewoods23 I'm so glad you didn't really mess up your PIO. What a relief. When I was doing stims this was one of my biggest fears that I was going to royally screw them up. I had printed out my clinics how to instructions and kept them by all my meds and literally the one day I thought to myself oh I got this and didnt follow it line by line I messed up one of the shots and forgot to expel all the air before injecting and of course then pulled it out and liquid went everywhere and que my panic and calling the on call nurse freaking out. lol I can laugh about it now and of course it all turned out fine, but that night I was so worried.
I actually wanted to ask you or anyone who has done an egg retrieval how soon did you get AF after retrieval? Is it supposed to be 2 weeks from retrieval or 2 weeks from trigger?
@hanshotfirst77 haha yeah I had a freak out the first time I removed the needle from the bottle of Lupron. A few tiny drops went all over and I was like OMG MY PRECIOUS LUPRON. Turns out I was only going to be using half the bottle for the cycle, so no big deal but I did not know that at the time lol.
AF came for me about 10 days after retrieval but it will differ from person to person. Someone else in the June IVF board got theirs only 4 days later!
My PGS results came much quicker too - came in about 4 days (ER on Tuesday, results on Saturday).

@inthewoods23 oh wow that's awesome you got your PGS results so fast. I'm 10 days post ER now, I'm not sure how my PGS will go though. My embryos are 5+6 day's but that happened over labor day weekend and I didnt find out about them until day 7. So im not sure did the testing get sent on days 5+6 or day7? They told me to expect up to 2 weeks wait. So I guess I have another week or so to go for them.
@NYTino24 I never thought of the sono messing with O but now that I think of it - I had mine in June and then the next 3 cycles (including this one) had be 10 days longer than my typical 30 day cycles... so now I'm curious as well!
@shoogapoff I was in a similar situation with the thin lining this cycle when we were supposed to do the IUI. I was also on a very low dose, the lowest you can go, of the letrozole though. My lining didn't get up to the thinkness they wanted until CD 18 but that was also when my follies were "shrinking". They never mentioned anything about taking estrogen to me though... so I think I might ask if we should try that next cycle in addition to upping the letrozole to 7.5. Anyway - I know it's super disappointing to be so ready for an IUI cycle and then for it not to go the way you wanted, planned or expected. You're not alone, at all. I think you made the right call to go with the plan you opted for. Chalk this cycle up to a learning experience where you and your RE had the chance to collect important data and form a more solid plan for next cycle.

@kpearse99 Thanks. It helps to know others can relate. I'm sad, and struggling with the change in plan. But I also recognize that we are still in the diagnostic phase, and they're putting pieces of the puzzle together. So, if a thin lining is an issue I have that we didn't know about, now we know. And hopefully we can address it. I'll let you know if the estrogen seems to help me!
@BusinessWife It’s not crazy at all for you to consider changing practices if you think the new OB has a better sense of what’s going on & how to support you. I support your decision 100%.
AFM, the intralipids were done on the day I ovulated. The nurse said it’s supposed to be done 7 days before implantation so with my natural cycle we hope we got that timing right. Then, if this cycle is successful I will have another intralipid infusion at BFP, and depending on bloodwork, maybe another infusion 2-3 weeks after that. It seems to keep the immune system calm & keep it from attacking embryos for about 3-4 weeks at a time in most patients.
Unfortunately, my insurance didn’t approve me for IVF because I am able to conceive naturally—despite all of them ending in losses. Obviously, I wanted to go the IVF route because we wanted to be sure we had a healthy embryo, since we aren’t 100% sure what’s causing the RPL. We just switched insurance so maybe if these lipids don’t work I can somehow get approved for IVF.
@keikilove I'm sorry your insurance won't approve IVF. It feels really unfair that RPL would be held against you in this already difficult journey. FX that your intralipids do the trick!
@NYTino24 I somehow missed you my first time around with tags. I’m sorry it was a tough few days earlier in the week. Hugs to you. It sounds like today was really busy with YH’s tests. Hoping those results are reassuring.🤞🏽 And wishing you the best at your RE appointment next week. It’s always so exciting to see how many follies etc. Just thinking of you & hoping you get some answers soon.♥️
@mokay19 Just wanted to say that I loved your question about Does anyone have a cool $20K they’re itching to get rid of? Seriously, wouldn’t it be amazing if we could each pay it forward to the next person by paying for their treatments once we got our own miracle? Hey, Girls can dream...
@keikilove that's horrible that your insurance won't cover IVF. I am furious for you. What the hell? Their reasoning seems like a slap in the face, too.
@NYTino24 I hope you were able to get some answers at your RE appointment.
@keikilove you’re not alone with the insurance issue. They cover my IUI’s fully but they won’t cover IVF (not that it’s even a path we would be doing but still... it be nice if it were covered if we changed our mind). You’re so level headed about everything though... and have certainly done extensive research. I hope your new insurance is better covered but i really hope you don’t need it!!!

@keikilove That’s incredibly frustrating and unfair that they are allowed to make that decision. If any of them went through IF, it wouldn’t be the policy. I hope you find a way. The intralipid stuff sounds so interesting! @BusinessWife I absolutely regret not switching OB offices earlier and it almost had catastrophic consequences. I am feeling so much more confident and comfortable now.
So my OPKs and BW show a false surge, but I did have a 13mm follicle and 5 mm lining that they want to see on Monday instead of waiting until Friday. CM has picked up, but OPK is lighter and temp is down after 3 days of being up. We should get DH’s BW and SA results on Monday. He might have to redo the SA because he didn’t *ahem* clear his system out close enough to the test. I told him we should BD on Tuesday and he said he didn’t want to mess with his test, which proves he doesn’t understand how any of this works with healthy swimmers. Either way, we need to abnormal SA to move onto IUI, so this could be one even if it’s not really considered accurate... not that we know results yet or even if that’s the path we will be taking.

I actually wanted to ask you or anyone who has done an egg retrieval how soon did you get AF after retrieval? Is it supposed to be 2 weeks from retrieval or 2 weeks from trigger?

@NYTino24 I hope you were able to get some answers at your RE appointment.
