  • EDD/W+D : 8w3d

    Team Finding out/pink/blue/green: finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): peanut

Upcoming Appts: Sept 19th with my OBGyn.

How are you feeling? Feeling pretty good. I have mild nausea and food aversions but nothing else.

Raves/Rants: It's funny how the bump keeps comparing the baby to a fruit or nut. Today it said it was the size of a raspberry, but fun facts said my baby is the size of a peanut. Which one is it lol I've def never seen a raspberry sized peanut.

Questions: I have a lot of prep to do before my first OB visit. I mainly want to make sure i ask the right questions. Right now, I have just one question: on whether NIPT is covered or not.

GTKY: I met my significant other in college through mutual friends. It was sweet cos we knew of each other but didnt get to date until then.

  • @sanpelligrino I feel you on wanting to ask the right questions for the OB. I'm going to try and find out if NIPT is covered too although my guess is it won't be for me since I'm 31.

    EDD/W+D : 8w2d

    Team Finding out/pink/blue/green: Finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): wild raspberry

Upcoming Appts: Last RE ultrasound on 9/10 and then first prenatal appointment with OB on 9/12

How are you feeling? Definitely not feeling my best. Very tired with a sinus headache and feeling like I have heartburn.

Raves/Rants: Hoping that my headache goes away soon. I'm excited to go to the beach on Thursday as long as Dorian doesn't mess it up.I was craving purple grapes and sent DH to the store yesterday and he brought back green ones. I was upset but luckily the green ones still satisfied the craving

Questions: Is anybody thinking about getting a doula or have had a doula before for past births?

GTKY: Tell us how you met your significant other! I met him through a mutual friend.

  • EDD/W+D : 8 weeks or 4/14 by LMP

Team Finding out/pink/blue/green: def finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): raspberry

Upcoming Appts: next week 9/11, I have a dating ultrasound and an appointment with my OB

How are you feeling? It's been rough. Dealing with morning sickness and all day nausea.

    Raves/Rants: today's my birthday! Big 30!

    Questions: none

GTKY: Tell us how you met your significant other!
I work at a community/technical college teaching math. Our remedial classes are done in a computer lab and each class usually has an instructor as well as a tutor. DH was the instructor and I was the tutor. We were friends for awhile before dating(I actually had a fling with one of his good friends first).

    Team Finding out/pink/blue/green: Finding out!

Baby is the size of a(n): Raspberry

Upcoming Appts: New OB appt and Panorama bloodwork on the 16th

How are you feeling? The nausea has kicked up and lasts on and off all day long... :( Also bloated and fully look pregnant by the end of the day....

    Raves/Rants: None really

Questions:  For those taking B6, what dosage are you taking? I just realized the ones I bought are 100 mg, and my drs cheat sheet suggests taking 25mg up to 3x a day....so wondering if this is too much and not ok.  I tried cutting them in half but its a tiny round pill so that didn't work well!

GTKY: Tell us how you met your significant other! We met in college the first week of freshman but didn't start dating until junior year.
  • @Kathryn0903 happy birthday!

@sanpelligrino I call my OB all the time with questions. Lol. I always think I’m going in prepared, then think of a thousand questions later!

@littleredm sorry about the sinus infection! Hope that clears up soon! I honestly don’t even know what a doula is... 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

    EDD/W+D : 8w1d/ April 13

Team Finding out/pink/blue/green: green! Staying strong! Lol

Baby is the size of a(n): wild raspberry

Upcoming Appts: September 20 for my 11 week appt.

How are you feeling? Ok, considering. Nausea is pretty constant at this point, but ginger tea is keeping it in check. I have to pee all the time, and school started today. The exhaustion is real! And after a full day of teaching, my body hurts. Everything hurts. 😩😩

Raves/Rants: school started today, and the hormones made it so much worse. My patience level is non existent. I cried at my desk today before school started because I didn’t feel ready to start. At least I’m keeping my coworkers entertained? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Questions: does anyone else feel like they’re losing their cool more often? I feel like a crazy person!

GTKY: Tell us how you met your significant other! We met online, actually. We are an eharmony couple. ❤️ Fun fact: I did NOT want to go on a second date with him. I’m kinda glad I did. 🥰
  • EDD/W+D : 8W exactly

Team Finding out/pink/blue/green: we decided we will find out.

Baby is the size of a(n): wild strawberry

Upcoming Appts: going in for an ultrasound Friday.

How are you feeling? Nausea and exhaustion are relentless! Still pinkish discharge despite getting the Rhogam shot early. So annoying/nerve racking.

Raves/Rants: this is my last pregnancy so I should be enjoying it but i would like to fast forward to second tri. I feel like garbage.

    Questions: none.

GTKY: Tell us how you met your significant other: we met in college, I tagged along with two girlfriends to his house party.

    Team Finding out/pink/blue/green: finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): square LEGO brick

    Upcoming Appts: Sept 13th ultrasound

How are you feeling? Off and on, I feel terrible. Mostly exhausted with some nausea and occasional boob pain.

Raves/Rants: Talked to daycare yesterday about DS’s inability to share. I know the mine phase is super common, but I want him to get over it before the baby comes, so they said they would focus on that. We’ll see if it helps at all.

    Questions: Not today.

GTKY: We met online. Sort of accidentally. I was recently single after a long relationship. A friend of mine was sending me terrible dating profiles. One of them was a co-worker, but I had to join the website to see it, so I signed up earlier than I planned to. It matched me with DH quickly, with a really high match percentage. I didn’t even have a picture on the page (was planning to wait a few months before actually dating), but he reached out to me and he seemed so great, so I responded. All-in-all, I was single for 6 weeks and knew right away that this was the right guy.

  • @sanpelligrino In my experience, most insurance will cover the NIPT only if you are 35 or older. I also think TB’s fun facts are weird. Yesterday it told me the baby would fit on a penny, but is the size of a raspberry. Seems weird.

@littleredm I hope the sinuses and headache clear up and you can enjoy the beach. I haven’t used a doula, but I have a friend who swore by hers. Used her all three pregnancies. She said it was especially helpful for her because her H was kind of hands off.

@Kathryn0903 Happy birthday! Hope it was awesome.

@jd614 I hear you on the bloating. It’s insane.

@ejoseph16 I have no idea how you are able to work in a school setting during first tri. I also lose my cool constantly. I’m either snippy with DH or crying about something silly. Also, kind of jealous that you met your H on eHarmony. I met mine on a less reputable (but free at least at the time) dating site. I feel like the less reputable ones still have a stigma when eHarmony doesn’t.

@coaster102516 Sorry about the nausea and the spotting. I’m sure that causes a lot of anxiety. Hoping the first tri flies by for all of us. Second tri is so much better.

  • @Kathryn0903 Happy belated birthday, hope it was great!

@ejoseph16 and @mercury94 how cool you met your H on dating sites.

@coaster102516 i sincerely hope your spotting stops and you start feeling better.

@littleredm not sure if it would help, but have you tried the steam inhalers for the sinuses? I don't have info on doulas, but interested to learn.

@jd614 - i hate hate the bloat :( My doctor never prescribed me a B6. I was told to take my prenatals regularly, and my prenatal does not have B6 ....just B12, folate and Biotin among the B vitamins. I do however take an additional B complex supplement that has 20mg of B6 which is supposed to be 1176% (% Daily Value). So i would imagine that's all it is that you need per day. 1176% is super high, and your body wouldn't need more. This is an article that babylist published, and it says you only need 1.9 mg of B6. 100mg seems excessive. Did your doctor specify why he has you on that dose?
  • @mercury94 I’ve been questioning my sanity the past few days. I’m done by lunch time! Ugh! Lol. I have amazing coworkers that make sure I have bathroom breaks when I need them, and I drink ginger tea literally all day. The hard part is not telling my students. I can’t wait to share it with them!
  • @ejoseph16 I’ve told basically everyone at work, because I’m too insane to contain it and my brain doesn’t seem to work correctly right now.

  • @mercury94 lol agreed! I’ve told everyone who knew about the miscarriage in April, and they all cheer in the hallway with me! It’s nice to have them be in the know!
  • I’m late to the party this week! Love the GTKY this week.

    EDD is April 11 and I’m 8 + 4 now.

Finding out. We’re having twins! ❤️❤️

Babies are size of a 2x2 LEGO brick

Had US today and discharged from the RE’s office. Next apt is Sept 12 for nurse intake at my OB and then Sept 19 first apt with my OB.

Feeling ok. Nausea has ramped up this week and kicked my butt today. Fatigue is still there but just trying to take it easy and get fluids and food in me.

No questions right now. Just so happy the work day is done and I can sit on the couch.

I’ve known my best friend since I was 5. She met her DH when they were college freshman and they got married 8 years later.
The groomsman I was with is now my DH. He and my best friend’s DH have known each other since kindergarten. It’s fun to have my best friend’s husband be one of my husband’s best friend’s!
  • @Kathryn0903 happy belated bday!

@ejoseph16 hope the rest of your first week goes better. Huge kudos for working in a school during this exhausting &nauseating time!

@littleredm I don’t have any experience with doulas, but I have heard they can be really helpful from an advocating perspective. For example, if you have some firm wants/don’t wants during birthing they can help make sure that happens for you while you focus on labor.

    EDD/W+D : April 11, 8w4d

    Team Finding out/pink/blue/green: finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): gummy bear (agree the fun facts are all over the place!)

    Upcoming Appts: 9/9

How are you feeling? Nausea comes and goes. Usually better if I snack all day. Bloating is REAL, like unbutton the pants by afternoon real. Also, sore back and just need to lay down by end of day.

Raves/Rants: We are planning on telling our parents this weekend. My mom and FIL have the same birthday, so we are going to wish them a happy birthday “from the 3 of us”. I’m excited to tell them and curious if they’ll pick up on it or we will actually have to be more explicit!

Questions: for anyone who had their first appt already, anything in particular you wished you’d asked? I’m jotting down a list of things that DH & I have been asking each other about.

GTKY: Tell us how you met your significant other!
We met online too! I think the “stigma” is lessening. We do still reference our first date spot more often than “online” when we get asked how we met though.
  • @gingers19 I mostly think of the stigma because it wasn’t eHarmony. But, honestly, I get more judgment (probably rightfully) about how fast our relationship moved. We moved in together quickly.

The B6 is for nausea.  I just bought a supplement at the pharmacy and the paper he gave me for dosage says 25mg 3x a day....
  • Perhaps the higher dose in your case is to control the nausea.

My nausea is on the lower side, i say this because i havent thrown up and i get waves of nausea and its mostly just food aversions, i think the B6 was helping tremendously. I had previously been taking the prenatals and B complex so probably had some B6 stores that helped who knows.
