    Size of baby: banana

How are you feeling? Good overall. Just this rash all over that’s driving me bonkers and my allergies in over drive. Mold is high around here and it’s bad.

Questions for STM+? Is it just me or does the second trimester feel like it’s speeding along too fast 🤣🤣 I wanna meet her. But also I want to have time to be ready for her. Lol

What has been the weirdest thing you discovered about pregnancy so far? That putting a lot of food in my mouth, like not abnormal for me but like more than a bite or two at a time, really trigger my gag reflex. It’s bad.

How are you feeling? Best I've felt all pregnancy! Sometimes tired, sometimes RLP, mostly good though.

Questions for STM? Maybe this is more of a FTM or general question. Any other FTMs worried about how much life is about to change? I'm so excited to be a mom, don't get me wrong, but I also love the life I've built so far. I love traveling. I love sleeping in. I love playing cards at a bar once a week with my friends. I wonder if I'll miss my pre-kid life or if I'll be so consumed by the joys of parenthood that I won't think of anything else. Change is coming!

These hormones are no joke. Sometimes I feel my emotions have been hijacked. Also, I now realize I took pooping for granted before becoming pregnant. 😂
  • @noranorabobora just you entire post. Everything about it is accurate.

I will say say already though hanging out with single friends recently has been a huge eye opener in some regard. Some of our friends just don’t have any drive in their lives and it just puts things into perspective. Like your 35 living at home and I’m 27 about to become a real mom. Just reevaluating things with friends and looking forward to meeting other mom friends.

  • @stashattack, I'm going to need more mom friends too! Most of my friends are professionals without kids. Also, I'm 37 so some of my older friend's children are already grown. My husband has some local cousins with young kids, so hopefully we can get together with them more too.
  • @stashattack @noranorabobora I relate to your posts on so many levels. the pooping especially

    Size of baby: cereal bowl

How are you feeling? honestly, 2nd trimester has been pretty great. fatigued and some RLP, but not much else

Questions for STM+? What is the one "baby must have" that you regret purchasing? Help me not waste my money!!

What has been the weirdest thing you discovered about pregnancy so far? I was never an anxious or emotional person, but I feel like I've had anxiety since the minute I got a positive pregnancy test. I guess this is motherhood

  • @noranorabobora I'm a professional with very little interaction with kids (other than DD and my niece). I love sleeping in, going to bookclub monthly and yoga weekly. We hike and travel. Don't get me wrong, lots of have things changed. I don't get to sleep in as much, but DH gets up with DD so I can sleep in a bit. We coordinate calendars so I can go to yoga and DH can meet his friends at the bar. Traveling is easier than you think, we fly or drive somewhere every month or so. Things don't have to drastically change, but it takes more planning.
  • @noranorabobora yess!! We have made a bunch of new friends with either teenage kiddos (yay possible baby sitters) or grown kids. I just need to find the middle ground now of mom's of younger kids. HAHA!

Size of baby: grapefruit (which seems smaller than a coconut but I digress)

How are you feeling? Awesome. As much as I am comforted by feeling kicks now, they're getting to be a lot. Like ok i get it, kick kick kickity kick! I have mixed feelings but GENERALLY it's positive, I swear! :p

Questions for STM+? What do you do all day with a newborn when they are awake. Just stare at their cute little faces? Play poker? Rob some banks? Just curious.

What has been the weirdest thing you discovered about pregnancy so far? I can't stop sneezing! Also rib pain like at the diaphragm. Maybe because of sneezing? Maybe my body is stretching? Maybe I'm crazy? Maybe all 3.
  • @alicia__e hahaha I totally agree. I’m loving the kicks but boy can they be super distracting sometimes 🤣🤣🤣

  • @alicia__e - The first two weeks after a baby is born, they literally sleep all the time. They wake up to eat only, and then fall right back asleep. After that, they do have a little longer wake times, but most of the time is spent trying to keep them happy. We'll do tummy time for 10 minutes, and then try to get them to track something, or lay them on the floor so they can watch the fan.

what @marebear15 said. A lot of the first few weeks is sleeping and feeding ands a couple of minutes of tummy time. I tried to rest when DD was sleeping but I also used some of that time to shower, eat, laundry etc. I breast fed and didn't expect to spend so long feeding her when she was a newborn. She would take like an hour to eat, fall asleep, and then before I knew it, she was awake to eat again.

@amb0924 I can't think of anything I regretted getting. I did not have a lot of "stuff" though. I didnt use a swing or bouncer. I did use a rock and play for during the day, but since those are now recalled, I will probably get some sort of baby holder for daytime use. We had a mamaroo that was a hand me down but DD hated it. Didn't get a wipe warmer and didn't need one. Did have a simple bottle warmer for breastmilk bottles as DH had paternity leave for 10 weeks after I went back to work. I had a lot of muslin blankets but I don't think I needed them all. I used swaddlemes and halo swaddles for nighttime. We used a bassinet in our room and then a pack and play when she got too big. We moved her to her crib around 7 or 8 months I think.
  • @noranorabobora it really depends how you approach it. For me I loved traveling before and still did with DD when she was a baby until now multiple times. Especially taking advantage of the free on lap ticket until their 2 years old haha. If you like sleeping in, then do it still, I had DD when she was a baby waking up for the day more around 9:30am..I know other mother's were pushing the 6am wake-up time, which wasn't for me. Do what work's best for you and your baby :)

@amb0924 that bumboo seat or whatever it's called, I ended up returning it. Oh also the baby swing, I never used it, I opted to carry DD or have her in a wrap
