  • @inthewoods23 I thought so too.  Of course, I can always get another one. To be honest, I don't usually need to confiscate anything. They do have to hand in their cell phones every day, though.
  • I'm over at the in-laws for dinner and I am so over being here. I want to be home where it's quiet so my blood stops boiling! Uuuggggggghhhh I'm supposed to be stress free for the next 8 days!

  • *TW possible loss of LO*
You guys I am soooo sad right now. My friend, who is due in January, had a routine scan and they found a lot of issues with baby's brain and spinal cord and prognosis is most likely fatal. I'm so sad for her, she's been the one I've confided in during my whole IF process! 😭 This sucks! She'll be finding out more tomorrow.

You TTCAL ladies are freaking rockstars to be able to go through a loss. I can't even imagine ❤️❤️ my heart goes out to each and every one of you

  • Hey ladies - update on my friend *TW*
The specialist believes it was a fluke, that it's not genetic so that's about as good of an outcome as there could be in all this as she was told to terminate the pregnancy. And to top it off her actual doctor is out this week so she's been dealing with on call doctors so her doctor has no idea this is going on.

I'm not real good when it comes to interacting with people dealing with grief (I haven't been faced with it much myself), so how can I best support her? I've already told her I'm there for her to talk to so I just don't know if I should say more? Give her space? Send a card? She's getting married in a month so we'll be in touch about that so should I just talk like everything is normal or does that make things weird? I don't want to make her feel like it's the elephant in the room, but I also don't want to accidentally say something insensitive if I'm trying to lighten the mood with humor! I would really love some advice on what's best or most caring to her emotional state. ❤️❤️

    TTC put on pause
  • @inthewoods23 I don't have MC experience, but I do have plenty of grief experience in general. My best advice would be to let her take the lead - ask how she is, check in on her, but don't have a lot of expectations. In general, probably best to avoid humor unless she's a person who processes things that way IMO. I would also maybe send her something - when my SiL had a MC she got sent an Edible Arrangement, which was very nice.

Again, totally not an expert, but these are just things I've appreciated when I lost my parents.

  • @inthewoods23 I would give her a few days and then maybe send a text, saying something like, "just checking in. Let me know if you need anything." And then take her lead. I couldn't bear face to face discussions after my losses, so when you see her in person, ask how she's doing and then leave it alone if she seems like she doesn't want to talk about it. By being vague, you give her an out if she can't handle a conversation.

I'm very sorry your friend is going through this. ❤
  • @saladflambe There's a Peggy who's posted every week in 1st Tri with crazy questions, never responds or acknowledges, and then goes away for another week.
