    Est Due Date/Weeks + Days: 24+1 Due: Dec 23

    Team Blue/Pink/Green: Green!

    Upcoming Appointments: Glucose test tomorrow

How are you feeling? Tired, hot, and trying to do whatever I can to reduce acid reflux

Rants/Raves: Took my 2 year old to his first real dentist appointment, and he hated the whole thing :( I felt so bad he was just screaming and wouldn't even open his mouth for them to count his teeth so we pretty much had to force the whole thing on him.

    Questions: N/A

GTKY: Since it’s officially September, what is the first “fall” thing you plan to do?  Drink hot apple cider! And probably in a few weeks take the kiddo to go apple picking.

  • 24 weeks today!

    Team Green

Upcoming Appointments: tomorrow for our THIRD ANATOMY SCAN. They've had a lot of chances to ruin our "Team Green" so really that's the only thing I am stressed about at this point lol. Then we have a birthplace tour on Thursday!

How are you feeling? My face is always hot and my allergies ATTACKED me when we went back to Pgh for the weekend omg...but I survived the bachelorette party and it was a blast. My back is literally killing me, it feels like someone is stabbing it.

Rants/Raves: None other than my back hurting. Also interested to see how I go with the glucose test in a few weeks. My MIL got to feel the baby kick so that was super cute too.

Questions: What is the general cutoff for flying? Our first wedding is in October and I think I might try to get us flights for that as it's only a 50 min flight from Chicago to Pgh just so we dont have to drive. We have the companion pass for SW so that would be awesome if we can use it one last time.

GTKY: Since it’s officially September, what is the first “fall” thing you plan to do? I don't know....I get depressed about fall...it only lasts like 36 hours it seems like then its winter for 19 years.... I don't really get as freaky as most do with holiday decor lol.
  • Est Due Date/Weeks + Days: 12/17 25 weeks

    Team Blue/Pink/Green: GREEN

Upcoming Appointments: 9/19 routine OB and glucose test

How are you feeling? well, baby is fine, kicking up a storm. my toothache situation has escalated quickly. this past weekend was pure misery on our anniversary/babymoon trip (first 24 hrs were great, and then holy hell). my jaw/tooth is so painful even with tylenol, and its affecting sleep majorly. lots of tears. got squeezed back in the dentist this morning and referred to an endodonist. appears i'll be the proud recipient of a root canal later today. ugh. my OB is the best, ran everything by her, she's just got a good sense of humor about it which i need (and maybe sounds odd) but also reassured me about the amount of tylenol i've taken since saturday being 100% fine.

Rants/Raves: rant: see tooth above rave: a husband who is amazing, and tolerated a wife who cried multiple times over the weekend on our trip, and the fact that we didn't get to do all of the things we wanted to do b/c of how i was feeling. i'm also glad we did our photos in the first 24 hrs when i still felt ok, that morning still got off to a shit show of a start, but i'm really happy with how they turned out.

Questions: anyone gotten a root canal? i'm not a dentist phobic person, but still not looking forward to this. i've had two people tell me it isn't that bad.

GTKY: Since it’s officially September, what is the first “fall” thing you plan to do? i really want to go buy mums for our front steps.
  • @ktmaesim most OBs and airlines say 36 weeks for flying, you should be fine.
  • @anniemarie887 I've had a root canal in my front tooth. It's nothing major...they'll numb it all and you won't feel anything. It really isn't that bad trust me! Sorry about your toothy!!! :-( But your photos look beautiful!
  • @ktmaesim good to know, i've had cavities filled before. this tooth is a molar, that actually has a filling. so we are thinking it went bad. root canal just seems scarier?!
  • @ashorkey yes! I posted under sept symptoms!
  • Est Due Date/Weeks + Days: 262d EDD Dec 22 (but will be induced around 12/16)

    Team Blue/Pink/Green: Blue

Upcoming Appointments: Sept 13, regular OB

How are you feeling? eh, not bad actually.  I'm struggling to stay hydrated which causes most of my issues so I feel bad complaining about them since they are self-induced lol

    Rants/Raves:
Rave: DS1 is on his third round of antibiotics for an ear infection that won't quit.  Which has caused loose stools, which has caused the diaper rash from hell.  So now we have prescription diaper rash meds to try since he was bleeding.

Questions: Anyone else not really started on the nursery?  I was so on top of it last time and I'm just not this time.

GTKY: Since it’s officially September, what is the first “fall” thing you plan to do? My birthday! it's in a few weeks and I think we are doing a family zoo trip (like my parents, us, and my brother, SIL, and niece)

@ktmaesim I've learned that it totally depends on the airline and your doctor. Delta has absolutely no restrictions on pregnant women flying, while I think American, for example, requires a doctor check 36 hours ahead of the flight after a certain number of weeks. I'm flying across the country at 36 weeks (and then back at 36+4) and my doctor didn't have an issue with it. She just said to get up and move around frequently. Check out southwest's policy and check in with your doctor. My doctor said she had a flight attendant as a patient and she flew without issue all the way up to her due date.

@Stac928 we have no nursery! I'm finally getting comfortable with the idea that we're going to just make space and figure out a solution when this kid gets here. Nursery design is totally off my radar now!
  • @anniemarie887 I’ve had a root canal before (and like a million cavity fillings me a few crowns - my teeth are terrible). I went to like a specialist in them, which it sounds like you are too. They numb everything up so much you feel nothing. And it was super quick. I thought getting a crown was a lot worse than the root canal for sure! I even went to a concert the night after I got the root canal. Though I wouldn’t totally recommend that, I survived pain free for the whole thing!

    Est Due Date/Weeks + Days: 12/19, 24w5d

    Team Blue/Pink/Green: Blue

Upcoming Appointments: This Thursday and next with the perinatologist to monitor my cervix length. Monday with the oncologist to devise a chemo plan. Next week, 9/11 with a therapist to try to get ahead of the overwhelming-ness that is my life lately.

How are you feeling? Ugh, physically getting much better after surgery, which is wonderful. Mentally struggling a little. I met with the perinatologist last week and my cervix length is 1.3cm and he said he’d put me in the hospital if it were 1cm or less. He put me on both progesterone and ibuprofen to help lengthen/strengthen it so hopefully that helps. I’ll see on Thursday. Last night my baby shower in Wisconsin for this weekend was officially cancelled. It’s just too risky to fly - if anything happened while I was there I’d be stuck for 6 months. I know it’s the right thing to do, it just sucks.

Rants/Raves: Rant - it just feels like every new thing in this pregnancy is taking a little bit more of my autonomy away every time I see a doctor. With the short cervix I’m not on bed rest, but I’m on extreme chill out orders. The Dr. said I can take short walks at the speed of an old lady and that’s it. Combined with not lifting anything or doing any exercise and my husband’s paranoia and I’m just barely doing anything. It’s really hard for someone as headstrong as myself. I was prepared for pregnancy to be super uncomfortable, but I was definitely not prepared for it to be a nonstop fear fest. It’s just a little exhausting.

Rave - today is my wedding anniversary! Even though life is a little nuts at the moment, I am eternally grateful for my strong marriage and endlessly loving husband. I for sure couldn’t do any of this without him.

Also, I passed my glucose test! I mean, I was already on Metformin for PCOS from before pregnancy, so it’s kind of cheating, but whatever - I’ll take it!

    Questions: shockingly - none today!

GTKY: Since it’s officially September, what is the first “fall” thing you plan to do?  Thursday is the first Bears vs. Packers game (go Packers!) so my MIL is going to come over and I’m making chili and potato skins. It’s good I basically only make during fall football, so it’s definetely the start to the season!

    Team Blue/Pink/Green: team green

    Upcoming Appointments: Weekly physio Wednesday

How are you feeling? Overall still good. Lots of little niggly things. My hip seems to really be affecting my sleep so I'm hoping the physio helps. I've been diligently doing my exercises. But now I'm wondering if it the pain is a charlie horse? It tends to be worst at like 3-7am when I'm probably the most dehydrated. I've been feeling more tired because I'm not really sleeping through the night.

Rants/Raves: Bit of both? We started painting the exterior of our house this weekend, and while I was grateful for help I had WAY too much family time (some people talk too much). It's also just stressful doing house stuff. I helped as much as I could in my super heavy duty protective gear, but mostly just sat inside and got food ready and napped. We bought a sprayer yesterday after our progress was nowhere near what we needed it to be by Monday. Hopefully we'll have 2 coats on after this weekend!

My ikea order got delayed and won't arrive until this weekend :(

Questions:  @stac928 we have started on the nursery (paint, baseboards, rug) but it's nowhere near ready.
Anyone not started on a shower? I feel like I'm.... extremely behind on that.

GTKY: Since it’s officially September, what is the first “fall” thing you plan to do? I've already started - harvesting apples from our backyard and making applesauce! We've worked so hard over the last two years to bring the tree back to health and we are finally getting a tasty crop from it!

@lucylivesinwa - happy anniversary! I'm glad to hear you're physically recovering from surgery and that you passed your glucose test. The other stuff sounds really challenging and I'm sorry you're dealing with all that - I hope meeting with the therapist can help relieve some of the exhaustion - that's a lot going on!

Also sorry to hear about folks' infections/root canals/general pains. I wish us all soothing relaxation!
  • Est Due Date/Weeks + Days: 24 weeks 5 days. Due 12/19

Upcoming Appointments: 9/20 for ultrasound and 1 hour glucose test

How are you feeling? Good. Can't get my pillow situation figured out at night. It's briefly comfortable then I feel trapped and like I can't switch positions. Not a real complaint, but it's frustrating to struggle with sleep when I feel like I could really use it.

    Rants/Raves:

Questions: Does anyone else feel like their body is changing extremely rapidly? I feel like I can practically watch my stomach grow minute by minute...

GTKY: Since it’s officially September, what is the first “fall” thing you plan to do? I'm a grad student and today was the first day of university. I walked around campus and saw all the new students and it felt very fall-like!

@lucylivesinwa happy anniversary! I hope you and your husband can do something nice to treat yourselves - you deserve it. I’m so sorry things continue to throw complications your way. I’ll say it again I’m in awe of how you’re handling all of it, and having a supportive partner definitely makes the world of a difference.

I also inherited crap for teeth from my dad, and have had many fillings no matter how diligently I brush. The root canal wasn’t bad at all, the relief of the pressure was immediate, I’m just sore now but so glad it got handled today. They are going to have me wait for the crown until after baby comes, so I just have to be careful about what I eat for the next 3ish months.

  • @ashorkey Hibernating--yes!! (Though, really, I've been hibernating all summer, too...  :D )
@Stac928 I haven't really started on our nursery, either. I have a mess of my stuff we've stored there that I still need to go through, and DH has a couple of house projects in there. Those are on his back burner though, because he has several outdoor projects he's trying to get done before winter hits where we live in Northern MN! (And considering it was 38 out this morning when I woke up, that's going to be sooner than later...)

    Est Due Date/Weeks + Days: 12/24, 24w1d

    Team Blue/Pink/Green: Team Blue

Upcoming Appointments: Next Monday for a glucose test, and the next day my first appointment with my midwife

How are you feeling? SO TIRED. ALL THE TIME. Minor symptoms other than that, so I'm counting myself very lucky.

Rants/Raves: First day back teaching yesterday (thank the lord I'm part time and only going every other day--I seriously admire teachers who work full time while pregnant!). I seem to be playing a fun game called "How much water can I drink to fix my endless dry mouth enough so I can talk to students, while also knowing that we have 88 minute periods so I will almost never be able to pee?"

    Questions:

GTKY: Since it’s officially September, what is the first “fall” thing you plan to do? Hmmm. Other than cooking some more cold-weather dishes, I probably won't do much other than decorating for Halloween next month. :)

    Est Due Date/Weeks + Days: 12/18, 25 weeks today
    Team Blue/Pink/Green: Pink
Upcoming Appointments: Endodontist on Friday, next OB apt on 9/25
How are you feeling? Ugh. Well I had to go to early L&D yesterday per my OB office to get an iv of fluids. My severe nausea and vomiting refuses to get any better. I was dehydrated and need two bags hung, vitamins, anti nausea meds, benadryl, and potassium given through the IV drip. I'm feeling a bit better now that I am hydrated. But it feels like I'm dying 85% of the time. I'm just really over being pregnant and ready for baby girl to get here.
    Rants/Raves: See above for rant.
Rave - Not much to rave about except my baby shower. My mom, stepmom, aunts, best friend and MIL are all going in to do one big baby shower at my dads house. I dont have to cook, clean or do anything but show up!!! Which is great because I never know what day will be a good day and what day will be a bad day.
    Questions: None.
GTKY: I've already put down a pumpkin bath mat and got myself some decaf coffee and pumpkin spice creamer. Hopefully I can even start to drink some soon lol. I love everything about fall and I hope I start feeling good enough by October to enjoy it.
  • @mrszoobear My jaw dropped when I read "mom" and "stepmom" in the same sentence!!  :o The divorce between my parents (which happened when I was *three*) was so bad that I can't even dream of having the two sides together. I'm currently estranged from my dad and stepmom, but still see people on my dad's side of the family (my aunt, my grandma, etc.). I can't imagine a shower with my dad's and mom's relatives together! It's really wonderful that your family is coming together to throw you a shower...and one that you don't have to cook or clean for! That's awesome! :)

Also, I'm sorry pregnancy is doing such a number on you. :( That sounds miserable.
  • @ninrms - Thanks! It wasn't always like this lol. Me and my step mom were never close and never got along when I was a kid and teen. She and my mom didn't get along at all. But my stepmom has really mellowed out and matured with age and so have I. We started to get close the last two years. We included her in a lot of the wedding planning (we got married last October) and that really helped all the parents cooperate and get along. It's been nice getting to know her and having everyone in my family on the same side.

And thanks for the support. We already knew we would only have 1 child so the crappy pregnancy isn't fun. I just keep telling myself only 3.5 more months!
  • Well, failed my 1h test, so I have to do the 3h. Also looks like I might be mildly anemic, though I haven't actually talked to my midwife yet so that's just speculation based on looking at my own results.
  • Due Date/Weeks + Days:
    dec.16th 25w6d!

    Team Blue/Pink/Green:

    Rants/Raves:
i just learned we have a Friday the 13th a couple days before my due date and a full moon the night before! Fingers crossed he would like to come early and not late like both his brothers!

    Questions:

GTKY: Since it’s officially September, what is the first “fall” thing you plan to do?
So far I made vegan pumpkin bread last week I love that stuff! Work on my other children’s Halloween costumes soon and start my fall decorating! Sooo ready for fall!
  • Est Due Date/Weeks + Days: 25+3 Due: Dec 21-24 Team Blue/Pink/Green: Blue 💙

How are you feeling? Ready to stop progesterone pills AND to have sex!
Rants/Raves: I get that my OB is being cautious, but geez my US shows promising improvements with my short cervix, so I'd like to be able to "get some action" soon besides inserting vaginal suppositories for 4 months! 🤢

GTKY: Since it’s officially September, what is the first “fall” thing you plan to do? Participate in local fall activities.
