Fit Friday 8/30

How's it going this week?

Re: Fit Friday 8/30

  • I started the week strong with a couple of workouts, but I've been so exhausted all week I couldn't get any more in. Hoping to do one or two over the long weekend.

@sanpelligrino How are you feeling this week? I saw you were having some pain after a long walk earlier in the week. :(

  • I've been forcing myself to keep up with my walking (averaging 18k steps/day) and I think it's really been helping me manage my stress and anxiety and probably also helping with energy and tummy as well. Definitely a struggle to get going some days though!

Would like to get consistently doing some planking/strength excercises as well as yoga/stretching but that has not happened yet. Definitely hoping to get some in over the weekend!
  • Had good intentions of working out, but nausea/morning sickness has made that undesirable. I guess walking around the zoo and fair this weekend will count as something.

  • @emibemily Wow, that's a lot of steps per day! My current goal is to hit 7K, which is usually doable, but I have a desk job, so it doesn't happen every day. I'm trying to increase it slowly.

@Kathryn0903 I hear you. Hope you have fun this weekend!
  • @aresee I have a desk job as well, but I'm fortunate to live a safe and walkable distance from work (2.5 miles each way). Also I've switched from taking my lunch break all at once (1 hr) to be able to take mini walk breaks (laps around the office) throughout the day. Not for everyone I'm sure, but it seems to be helping me maintain my focus, the steps really add up, and I can take potty breaks while I'm up 😂😂😂
  • My week went pretty well. I was able to get 4 workouts in. I’ve been doing CrossFit for about 8 months so I’m trying to continue as much as possible. It’s pretty much the only time of day I don’t feel nauseous.
  • I’m feeling better now, I plan to go on a hike this weekend so that should probably help! I’ll go for another walk today and do some light stretches to help with the hike tomorrow and day after. Fingers crossed I don’t have the pain .
  • Hi, I'm trying to be more active on the board. Mind if I join?

I had just started a bikini body mommy challenge about two weeks before my BFP, so I'm continuing that with the daily workout. I'm finding I'm already winded much more easily and some move just don't feel right, so I'm modifying.

I had just completed a 90 day challenge before starting this one. It feels so nice to regularly be active and I'm amazed at the difference in strength that I see in myself.

  • I used to work out after work, but I have no motivation now that I've given up my afternoon cup of coffee. I started running in the mornings and it really helps with the morning queasiness. I didn't run as much during my last pregnancy, so I'm motivated to do it while I'm able!

  • Welcome @peonyblossom12 ! Sounds like you’re doing all of the right things. 🤗

I was able to walk this week and since it was my daughter’s birthday we went to a farm that had like a million acres and we went down slides etc. It wiped me out. 😄

Today I managed 30 mins of Purebarre. I pushed through the nausea and felt pretty good afterwards.

I do Beachbody, so I did LIIFT 4 workouts on 3 of the days this work week and ran the other two days. Hoping to get a couple runs in this weekend. I still don’t have any morning sickness, beyond a little queasiness first thing in the morning, but I just have a piece of toast before working out and I’m good.
  • Well, I did something truly stupid yesterday. We were at the fair and on the midway, my son wanted to do the giant slide, so I said I'd do it with him. It seemed okay from a pregnancy perspective, at least this early, and it was one of the only rides that wouldn't make me nauseous. Well, it was fun, but I bruised my tailbone on the last little hill. It hurts so much. I'm going to keep icing it and I think it will be fine, but I'm annoyed with myself. No workouts for a while for me.  :/
  • @aresee ouch!! I hope you heal quickly!

I got a 5 mile run in today. I’m still able to run close to my normal pace, but I do feel more tired.
  • I plan on being more active, I’ve just been so exhausted that finding motivation is tricky most days. I work in the hospital as an RN and I’m on my feet all day, so my days off I feel especially fatigued. I’m trying to be better about going on more walks with the dogs and want to get back in the gym a couple of times a week!
