Tested this morning at 5dp6dt. BFN. I thought MAYBE if both implanted, I would have seen something. BUT...I know it's still early. Holding out for 7dpt at this point. Don't think I want to risk seeing another BFN tomorrow.

Thanks ladies!! I am holding out until tomorrow at 7dpt!! I am a rollercoaster of emotions today and it was SO hard NOT to test this morning. One of my issues is I have a hard time going all night without going to the bathroom...lol. I know I need at least a 4hr hold so I will try really hard tonight NOT to go to the bathroom after I go to bed. Need to not drink anything after 7pm. I have my estradiol and progesterone blood draw tomorrow to check how things are going so it would be FABULOUS to be able to tell them I got a + that morning! PRAYING HARD TODAY!!

@ladyp0tter Hopeful for you for tomorrow! Just to share my own experience though... my tests always showed better in the afternoon (not even with a 4 hr hold) than they did with first morning urine. I've heard this from a lot of other people too. So if you find that it's a BFN in the morning, try testing again in the afternoon and see if there is any difference. Crossing everything for you!

Also, my first blood draw today for E2 and Progesterone: E2 644ml, Progesterone 52.88

Have no idea if that is good or not. Guess so because they didn't change my meds...lol!

Hi ladies!
ughhhh @ladyp0tter I know the feeling! Had my Xfer on Monday 8/26 which makes today 5dpt and I got 2 BFN this am...I used one regular response and a FRER. I’m super bummed- trying to stay hopeful and optimistic. I’m scheduled for my blood test on 9/4 but I can’t wait...I’ll prob test again on Monday. Oh and I went in on Thursday for my progesterone and it’s 33?! I guess that good...im still estrace pills, patches, suppositories and PIO shots. Wishing all baby dust and sticky embabies!

We had our transfer on Aug 22. I am too nervous to test, our beta test is this Tuesday and they will call me on Wednesday with the results. Ahh Going crazy. Every little symptoms I have googled and searched. Hoping this is our time!!

My Beta is this Friday, but as of this morning on 11dp5dt, BFN. So it looks like no luck for me! I'll hopefully be able to talk to the dr. next week to discuss one more ER. I know he will suggest donor eggs due to my age, but if it isn't my eggs, then I don't want to do it. I have 3 of my own biological children (ex-husbands), I just wanted to give my husband one for him and me. :-(

Hey everyone! I thought I’d jump in here. I don’t know all the lingo, and no matter how many times I look it up I can’t remember it anyway. 🤦‍♀️
I’ve been hanging out on the bump off an on for 6 years, but we finally have done our first round of IVF and our embryo transfer last Tuesday. Our first blood test is Thursday, and I can’t do enough to stay busy and not think about it.

Life has been a little crazy for me we hosted a couple big parties in August and had a really wicked case of the stomach flu. As a result my transfer was delayed a bit because I was too sick to come in for monitoring but when I recovered all my labs still looked good and I was cleared to start progesterone and had my transfer yesterday (9/4), beta scheduled for 9/11 which is only 8 days past the transfer. Is that normal? I feel like in the past it has been a longer wait.

So I just got my beta results....our embaby didn’t stick! I’m super disappointed bc I thought we did everything right and just knew we would be pregnant...guess not! And this process is sooo draining....emotionally, mentally and physically. We do have 3 more embryos but I don’t know if I can jump right back in right away!

@pathomer - I am so sorry! I fully understand the drain and hope that the next round is it for you! I am so happy you have 3 more though. I am going to have to talk to my dr. about another ER now....sigh....this process is so emotional!!! I was just telling my DH to get ready for 3-4 more months of work!! ER, PGS, FET....

@twoMomsHoping - I think that sounds ok at 8dpt for 5 day transfers. Most POAS tests are positive by then if it worked from what I can tell and surely a Beta would be. You would just be early and have to look more at the doubling time from there. From what I see, most do them at between 10dpt - 14dpt. My RE is 14dpt. My transfer was the 23rd and my Beta is this Friday. I have only tested BFN since 5dpt so I am expecting a negative... Good luck to you and hope your embaby sticks!!

@pathomer I’m so sorry you got a bfn. During ttc we took several breaks. Sometimes it’s good to just take a breather from it to morn a bit and recover. Those embryos will be there waiting for their turn at a try when you are ready.

@ladyp0tter thanks for the info I wonder if my clinic just changed practice since I was in last. I seem to remember waiting 12days. I’m sorry things don’t look promising for you beta on Friday and that means another retrieval round. You’ve been through so much I’m still
rooting for you!!

Thanks for the well wishes! My dr insisted I continue all meds (estrace, suppositories and PIO) until I get the results from a second beta test, going back tomorrow! If (which I’m certain it will be) negative/low again (it was 1 on Wednesday) then we are thinking of jumping right back in with my next period. Also my progesterone was 33 last week then 22 this week- anyone experience a drop in progesterone levels is that typically/ok? I’m wondering, could that be the reason my embaby didn’t stick??? We have a consultation with my RE on the 16th and I have a long lists of questions- hopefully he can answer them!

@pathomer - I'm glad your Dr. is giving you the best shot. I too am nervous about starting over right away but I talked to the nurse today (consult with Dr. next Friday) about all the options for next round:

Different protocol (lower meds hoping to not fry my eggs), possible ERA or an extra day of PIO, possible HCG shot/wash, Embryo glue, even the option of taking a couple of 3-day embryo's and doing a fresh transfer while waiting for the day 5's for freezing/PGS.

I was surprised that neither of mine even attempted to stick at all, I used to be a fertile myrtle (before my tubes being tied). I just always had a problem keeping babies. I didn't even end up with a chemical this round. :-(
So I understand not knowing WHY!? Good luck to you!!

@ladyp0tter sounds like they may try to do a mini IVF next time around. We're going to try the traditional first (should be starting shots soon) and then if it doesn't work, do the mini. My acupuncturist has been trying to talk me into a mini for a while, but my RE didn't do them. Apparently, now she does. Good luck.

What does a mini IVF entail?

@bender29 - basically less meds to stimulate QUALITY eggs over quantity. When I was stimmed with the max protocol of Gonal F and Menopur which has been discussed to potentially damage the quality because of the rush to grow them quickly. The idea is to stimulate with less which may produce less eggs, however they will be grown a little more naturally with the hopes to not damage them. Because of my age, I will be asking about this since of 24 eggs, only 7 made it to blast and of those, none were normal.

@bender29 it's exactly what @ladyp0tter mentioned above. My last AFC was only 1 (which is a major drop from the 7 i had just several months ago. It's because of the drop that my doctor mentioned mini IVF. Before then she was pretty adamant on the traditional approach, even with my low AMH and age (43). The only reason I'm willing to try the traditional approach first is because the clinic is running a 25% off special on it and it will include PGS Testing. Usually with the mini IVF the clinic is expecting you to do multiple sessions, so that you can bank the embryos before you proceed to the transfer phase. My clinic charges $10K for two mini egg retrieval sessions and then the transfer is an additional $4500 for the first one, $2500 for the second (if the first fails) and after that it's free.

@bender29 - meant to post the different meds b/w the two. Mini IVF is chlomid or letrozole for 5 days and gonal-f/follistim/menopur for 5 days or however long the doctor says. It's more similar to the protocol for IUI.

@31magnolia and @ladyp0tter that’s really interesting! When we first learned IVF was our only route I did a bit of research, but probably not enough, and then I kind of decided to just bury my head in the sand and just do what the doctors told me to do. I figured we’d do one round this way before I worried too much about what others experienced and what not because it would stress me out. Hence me not joining this board until after my first transfer.
I’m hopeful with 6 embryos that we will not have to do another round of ER, but I will keep this in mind in the chance that we do. They retrieved 27 eggs, but only 11 were mature. I was at a high risk for HOS and was pretty miserable with the meds through ER and for about a week and a half after.
Our fertility issues are male related, and I react really strongly to all meds, so this definitely might be a better option for me if needed. Thanks for the info!

I’ve know folks have wonderful success with dialing back the stim medications, especially when they had many eggs retrieved on the first round but not many making it to blast. I’ve never done a mini, in my case with each ivf cycles we upped my stim meds and I was able to get more pgs normal embryos but from what I’ve seen on the boards I think I’m not typical.

If you RE is open to it the really nice thing about a mini IVF is that if you don’t respond enough with the lower dose of meds you can often convert over to an iui so the cycle isn’t scrapped completely.

@2MomsHoping I’ve read about converting to IUI. It’ll be interested to see what my RE does, since even if it’s only one egg they won’t give refunds, etc. so it wouldn’t make sense for them to convert.

We had our 48 hour blood draw yesterday, went from 102 on day 9 to 255 on day 11. They scheduled the first ultrasound for the 23rd.

GL to all that just had their embaby/embabies!!!

So I had to go in for monitoring (ultrasound and blood work) this morning bc I was bleeding super heavy yesterday. Seems like all is well...I also spoke with my Dr briefly about prepping for our next FET and she mentioned trying a natural FET cycle. I would love to hear anyone’s experience with a natural FET cycle, please share!

@pathomer & @ladyp0tter I am so sorry to hear your news. I've jumped right back in before and I've also taken 6 months off before. Do what is right for you!

AFM: *trigger warning* I haven't been on this board in a couple of weeks. I've been busy at work and trying to distract myself. I started bleeding last Friday (5w5d), so I went in to get checked out. I had already passed 2 blood clots so I was absolutely sure that I had miscarried (went ahead and drank 2 cups of coffee that morning)... Turns out everything was fine. The yolk sac and fetal pole were right there on the ultrasound screen and measuring on track. I couldn't believe my eyes. They said the bleed wasn't coming from the baby, it was coming from my cervix. Craziness! So, I just went in for my original scheduled ultrasound yesterday (6w4d)... still trying not to get my hopes up too high... and there was a heartbeat! We've been trying for 6 years... This is our 5th FET and our last embryo so you can imagine how hard I broke down. I was in complete shock! I've officially graduated from my clinic and I go see my OB/GYN on Monday so she can start monitoring me. I hope everything continues to progress as it should and I hope you ladies don't have to go through as much heartbreak as me but I will tell you, the sound of that heartbeat is all worth it. Keep going!

@kimberlyshae I went from heartbroken while reading your post to so incredibly happy for you. I'm no stranger to that type of fear or situation. Its all consuming. Reaching the heatbeat milestone is so so so so huge. The risk of miscarriage goes down significantly. Prayers to you and that little miracle of yours. (Hugs).
