Re: Weekly Randoms 8/26

  • Everyone needs to watch Sebastian Manascalco - Why Would You Do That on Netflix. Probably one of the funniest standup ive seen in a while and I watch a lot of standup lol

  • @CapricaAndrea That's scary about your son and I think you are absolutely justified to speak with the director about ensuring additional safety measures are put in place.  It's true that accidents happen, but they can potentially be catastrophic, so they should certainly re-evaluate their protocols.  I don't necessarily think you need to go in guns blazing or anything, but no one could blame you for being concerned.  Hopefully the teachers were reminded to be more diligent by the incident.

  • Oh hi oh hi just me again...did I ever mention that I wake up AT FOUR IN THE MORNING EVERY OTHER NIGHT?! It’s sooooo much fun you all should try it!!!!!!!

@CapricaAndrea I worked at a daycare all through college for 4-5 years, i have a hard time seeing they didn’t do a count before closing the outside door to go in....wtf? But I agree with how @blueskychicago12 phrased it...it prob depends on some circumstances but everyone makes mistakes but then sometimes it can catastrophic, I’d def have a calm + collected chat I think just so the director gives  the staff a pep talk on being 100% on top of things. You never know !

@CapricaAndrea - I'm with your husband on this one. I would be out for blood. Maybe it's just because I'm going to be a first time mom, maybe its because of family member experience with daycares or maybe just with the area I live in where children go missing on a regular basis. But it would not be okay with me and I get why he is so upset.
  • @CapricaAndrea I personally would go in guns blazing. What if it was to happen out of a safe area? When my daughter was 3 she had bad eloping issues walking out doors. She would run every chance she got. She also had no idea about car safety because her speech was not developed.  So at her preschool it was written in her IEP for hand holding at all times. Well they had a sub that "forgot" and I watched my child run into a parking lot of moving cars trying to find me. I lost my mind right there.
IDK when it comes to my kids and other people watching them I don't take excuses lightly and I'll knock down doors fast. (Maybe my marine corps training side) thank god nothing happened but the most important thing is making sure they never make that mistake again. Especially at the expense of your child.
  • @ktmaesim 👋🏼 Fellow 4AMer here! Technically 430 but still way to freaking early and on the off chance I’m able to fall back asleep it’s around 630 when I have to get ds up for school. I’m such a peach the rest of the day.
  • @CapricaAndrea I’m with your husband on the daycare issue. I’d be ripshit pissed and would go in with guns blazing.

On the work issue, sounds like he’s being a drama llama.

  • @k_mama91 omg I can’t believe you get it too! What the heck. I just lay there and pretend I’m not starving then around 5 I go eat sme Cheerios. Then I come back up like you said around 6:30, it’s like...ok do I go back to bed or just be up for the day?!
  • @CapricaAndrea I think I understand how you feel, I tend to try not to get worked up over things until I have all the factors. There is also a part of me that always thinks about how when someone does something wrong, I tend to think that they know that and usually feel the worst about it and that piling on doesn't always help? At least it doesn't help me feel better. That said, going to be a FTM so maybe I don't know.

@ktmaesim bahahaha "lay there and pretend I'm not starving" = me every night. Last night a frickin SPIDER woke me up crawling on me. It caused quite a scene a 4am. Turns out I'm either not that afraid of spiders or too tired to care?
  • @ktmaesim This has been going on for months now! Between being a freak of nature with my 4am rise time and my 11pm insomnia it’s a literal miracle I can function enough to get my poor child to school.
  • Boo. The Ikea order I placed last week somehow got lost in cyberspace and won't be arriving today after all. I'm bummed.
  • @CapricaAndrea - Glad to hear they are taking everything very seriously. Sorry your husband was taking some of his fear out on you for not reacting the way he expected. That always sucks.
  • I broke a molar last week, and I went to the dentist and had to get X-rays and a temporary filling.  Even with zofran, the whole process made me really nauseous.  I have to get a crown in a few weeks and I am dreading it.
