Just had a shot of wheatgrass - help!

I went to Robek’s this afternoon after feeling really under the weather and felt like a shot of wheatgrass would be healthy for me.  After the consuming the shot (my first time having it, btw) I looked it up online and saw that having it could lead to a miscarriage.  My husband I were so upset - I’m already a high-risk pregnancy and have had 1 miscarriage and a blighted ovum the last time.  I read online that wheatgrass can be bad for the fetus due to its detoxifying properties.  Can anyone share their knowledge or experience with this?

  • Since you just had a small amount one time, I'm sure it will be ok! I would def let your doctor know and refrain in the future, but I've already had 2 things they say can cause miscarriage (chamomile tea and hibiscus 🤦‍♀️) and after panicking realized it was a more, don't consume large quantities thing.

  • @emibemily thank you so much for that.  I see my Ob/gym this Wednesday - it will also be our first U/S so hoping for the best.  I didn’t realize chamomile and hibiscus tea could also cause a miscarriage!  Helpful to know.
  • @latebloomer7 tbh "detoxifying" is mostly woo.  Your liver is what detoxifies your body.  I really wouldn't worry too much about it.
  • If it helps, I think many women do something similar. I thought I was being SO good by eliminating coffee and having an occasional tea instead, only to find out that many teas are probably bad for pregnancy. It’s so hard to know every rule, especially this early when everything is “secret” and there’s almost no one to ask for help. I hope your ultrasound on Wednesday goes well!
