August Symptoms

Re: August Symptoms

  • @cpk3535 I didn’t pop or get the line last time either. So far it’s looking like I’ll follow suit this time too. I was guessing I had extra layers of fat but I’ll go with stretchy skin instead 😂
  • Loading the player...
  • I'm a STM also and my belly button didn't pop either- it just got flat. I assume I will be the same this time.
  • Oh interesting... mine is def flattening out and I assumed that meant it would pop. Of all weird prego things I’m kind of hoping it stays flat.
  • I assume mine won't because I've got so much abdominal fat,  but I'm also taking collagen protein daily which supposedly helps your body expand and contract during and after pregnancy.
  • @bookworm982 do you do the powder collagen? i took that for a bit and then fell off the bandwagon.
  • @anniemarie887 yes mixed in with my daily coffee and chocolate almond milk.

My tailbone pain is still really bothering me.  Some days I can hardly walk.  I don't know how I'll get through 16 more weeks of this.
  • @bookworm492 I'm so sorry to hear about your tailbone pain - that's such an intense spot to be in pain from.

I have found some relief from my hip pain at night by switching to sleeping propped up halfway through the night. Im also hoping to go to a pelvic floor pt in the near future.
  • @anniemarie887 yes!!!!! I hope it doesn’t tho lol
  • My belly button has almost popped! It definitely feels weird but looks pretty fascinating 😀

Also, the last two weeks I've had a lot of (on and off) pain and just general discomfort in my hips, back and legs. It's also making me not sleep well on some nights. On one night I definitely had sciatica pain.. Will definitely mention it to my obgyn on Friday. What did you  find the most helpful to alleviate the pain/discomfort?
  • @sjai59 Prentala yoga, prental massages, a pregnancy pillow, and physical therapy--that's what's been helping me sort of keep ahead of the pain.
  • @sjai59 I've tried stretching and pillows,  but neither helped.  Pillows made it worse. I am going to try to get a referral to physical therapy.
  • @sjai59 When are you noticing your pain? I think exercise should really help--the more you can strengthen your muscles, the better. I've also found that my pregnancy pillow was a *game changer* for me. (I have this one: https://www.amazon.com/Leachco-Pregnancy-Maternity-Contoured-Pillow/dp/B0002E7DIQ )

My back and hip pain was so severe the two weeks we were on vacation (without my pillow) that I could only make it ~5 hours into the night before I was almost in tears from the pain. With the pillow, I have minimal pain during the night.
  • I feel like my face is constantly HOT. Esp in the mornings. it's so annoying
  • I have annoying pain at my pubic bone. It’s horrible at night when I’m up to pee every two hours. It literally feels like the weight of my belly is ripping whatever ligaments, tendons, and muscle away from the bone. So painful.
  • Restless legs!  When I'm trying to relax in the evenings.  Not painful, just uncomfortable and kind of annoying.
  • Anyone else feel like they're being stretched from the inside out? I've had occasional round ligament pains, but holy moses, my insides feel like they're just getting pushed and pulled in weird ways (everything except my lungs, really). Also, maybe tmi, I feel like my stomach (organ, not muscles) hurt if I push too hard when I'm peeing or having a bowel movement.  :s
  • @ninrms not exactly but I'm pretty sure this baby likes to do flips,  because when it moves it disrupts my entire abdomen.  Omg it's irritating lol.
  • @bookworm492 Oh gosh, I read that baby is knocking around your insides already! I'm so sorry! I feel baby move lots, and it's weird, but luckily it hasn't caused discomfort or pain yet. Half the time it just feels like I've got a fish swimming through jello inside my belly, lol.
  • Baby was super active last night, it woke me up! And I think s/he had hiccups based on the rhythmic bumps I was feeling once they settled.
  • Anyone else experiencing some serious gum pain?

About 2 months ago I got a couple fillings done and was in unbearable pain for weeks afterwards. Then Monday I went in for a routine cleaning (just a simple cleaning!) and it hurts so bad!!!! Not my teeth just the gums. But it was bad enough to keep me up last night.
  • @mrszoobear not this time, but it's definitely normal to be more sore when pregnant due to increased blood flow. Sorry it kept you up.
  • Ugh maybe TMI too but it's getting really hard to wipe my you-know-what.
  • @ktmaesim yes to this!  I've had to reconfigure my normal wiping protocol😆
  • @ktmaesim - have you tried wet wipes or baby wipes? They help a lot when you're feeling sensitive down there.
  • @mrszoobear @ktmaesim for me, it's more a logistical issue of being able physically reach around my big belly.
  • @mrszoobear @ktmaesim for me, it's more a logistical issue of being able physically reach around my big belly.
😂😂😂 Oh sorry for laughing! Not quite there yet.
  • @blueskychicago12 yep that was definitely a problem for me last time- does not get any easier the bigger your belly gets! Again pregnancy is beautiful you guys!!!
  • YES logistics is my problem. I actually always have the cottonelle wet wipes because I just like them! ahaha too @mrszoobear  @blueskychicago12  @Spartanrd4  ... I didn't see anyone replied to this until now, and I was like oh boy I probably crossed the TMI line... hahaha
  • i think the TMI line goes out the window when it comes to baby/pregnancy. i know i was thankful my sis-in-law never held back.
  • Ok speaking of towing the TMI line, I have a really weird symptom.

I was sitting in my office and thought that I was noticing the vibrations of the impeller pump in the next room through my chair, only to get home and realize I could still feel that same sort of vibration. In my pants. Apparently it's from extra blood flow? It feels kinda like an eyelid twitch, something that is annoying but not otherwise remarkable. It doesn't hurt or really feel like anything. But it's sure weird..
  • @jandawg I definitely had it a few times in my previous pregnancy. I don’t think I ever found out an explanation for it, just basically “yeah that’s a thing that happens sometimes because pregnancy is weird!”
  • Emotionally- 2nd trimester definitely better than the firs . I was a raging bi#$h at first but that finally mellowed out. I get sudden bursts of intense feelings of excitement or fear that just wash over me and then are gone. But overall I'd say I'm good.
Physically- I have crazy heartburn almost every day. I've stopped eating spicy food but it seems like anything I eat causes it. My DD said up to 10 tums a day are ok. @CapricaAndrea I'm a side sleeper normally but now my shoulders are killing m . Thanks for the tips!
Mentally- I'm a bit of an impatient person to begin wit . 9 months is a LONG time to wait! I am so ready to meet my little one. I'm super scared the delivery isn't going to go as I hoped and I'll be forced to have a c-section. This is my first and I can't imagine recovering from major surgery while taking care of a newborn. Fingers crossed all goes well!
  • Anyone else feel like they stink/smell all the time?? I took a shower this morning before church and by the time we got there (less than a hour) I felt like I smelled. No one said anything but I feel like I smell. Maybe just extra sensitive nose and hormone changes plus still have morning sickness??
  • @Peachie89 On our vacation I *definitely* felt that way! I made a very conscientious effort to put on deodorant, then felt like I smelled sooo bad after just a little bit of hiking (...I don't remember that being the case prepregnancy.) I haven't noticed it as much since we've been back, but we live in a fairly cool climate where it's not usually about the 70s.

@CapricaAndrea - yeah, so weird. Thankfully it only seems to happen a couple times a day.
@peachie89 I can relate! I think the hormones + sensitive nose are probably spot on.

@ninrms I mostly feel pain in the evening. But over the weekend my butt also hurt when I was walking during the day . Yes, I tried pregnancy pillow, and it definitely helps! The only issue is that it sometimes makes me very warm. Also, my OBGYN actually advised me acupuncture and I was kind of surprised. Would acupuncture actually help? Did anyone try it? I kind of want to try it, but insurance doesn't cover it and also the idea od having needles stuck in me while pregnant is scary.. idk.

@mrszoobear not really bad pain, but I've started to have some gum pain after brushing with my electric brush and it's been present for more than a day ☹️
  • @sjai59 I LOVE acupuncture. I’ve been going for 2+ yrs and haven’t stopped while pregnant.
  • @anniemarie887 good to know! After my trip, I'll go and try it - hope it helps with my butt/hip pain.
  • so this is what i get for posting in the weekly update about feeling great - a toothache of all random things?! i just was at the dentist for a cleaning on 8/20 and was told all well. but starting yesterday with having a weird toothache, i guess i need to call them. google tells me loads about sensitivity and about tooth aches with sinus pressure... but i'm not having sinus issues.
  • @anniemarie887 I had a toothache a week ago or so and I used about 1 cup water to 1 teaspoon salt to rinse out my mouth a few days,  once a day.  It helped a lot and now it's fine. It was like an inflamed gum.
