Re: Product Spotlight 8/16: Maternity Clothes
Quality really doesn't matter for maternity clothes because you only wear them for a few weeks/months before you out grow them or you're done being pregnant. Half my clothes from DD's pregnancy don't fit because I'm about 5 lbs heavier and my belly and boobs are much larger this time. Plus it's a different season. So even if you are wanting clothes to last through multiple pregnancies, the truth is, they probably won't.
And that's my two cents.
Gosh, I never realized how triggering maternity clothing was to me, but I just spent an hour trying to figure out if I should shuck over the $30 for a new bra.
@marebear15 aerie has bras on sale for like $17.50 or something. IDK if you have already shucked out the money but $17.50 is better than $30!

@amb0924 good to know pink blush worked
out for you! I have to bite the bullet and just order a dress for my sisters wedding in October. Did you find sizing to be good?
I bought a few dresses that I can wear when I'm not pregnant too. But the clothes aren't very well made at all and have pilled from buying them the first pregnancy and lending them to a friend for her pregnancy. Not much life left at this point.
At a friend’s party, a girl had an adorable and very fashionable maternity top. I asked her where she got it and she said “Hatch,” which I hadn’t heard of before. So I go to the website and the stuff is all insanely expensive. We’re talking $225 for maternity ankle pants, $268 for a denim shirt, and $70 for a long sleeved t shirt. Just no.
But like others, I refuse to spend big on clothes that im not going to get much wear out of.
@EmilyE13 yes!! Idk how people spend that kind of money! Give me target maternity tops for like
$10 all day.

The only thing I would say is to invest in a maternity bra. I got mine that was originally $60 on sale for $12. It is a must for me to have a bra I can sleep in since it get's so uncomfortable without.
Also H&M has those maternity tank packs / maternity bra packs that are just for around home etc. I found that super helpful
With DD I had a summer pregnancy so no maternity clothes at all, just maxi dresses. I'm actually a bit concerned that I have to wear pants and even closed to shoes near the end of this pregnancy. What are your guys plans for that? My feet were so swollen last time it was a joke.

I also hate shopping and shelling out money but I feel so much more comfortable in my maternity clothes and I had to find things I could teach class five days a week in. I got some dress pants and nice tops at motherhood so I hope I'm good to go. I made my mom go with me since I hate shopping and needed moral support. I only had to go in one shop. I tried on a bunch of things and the amount of money wasn't terrible at the end since they were having a sale. It definitely is a necessary evil.
