Do any of you wear a Fitbit? What are your goal steps now that your pregnant? Pre pregnancy I was getting 18,000-20,000 a day. I’m lucky to get 10,000 now because I’m so tired.
Yesterday I farted in front of my neighbors 🤦🏼♀️ They were helping with some house renovation/painting. I squatted to paint near the floor, and one just poofed right out without warning. That’s what happens when you don’t poo for 3 days I guess! Ugh so embarrassing.
On another note, one of the daycare teachers at DS’s school put her hand on my belly today and said I was showing. I was mortified. My mom has touched my belly but I don’t care. But this was someone I barely know. I just said “well it’s mostly just bloat” and ran out of there with DS. WTF.
@daffodil_shoe 🤣🤣🤣 That’s fantastic about the neighbors! Totally par for the course and coming for all of us. I hope they’re able to laugh it off with you knowing it’s a pregnancy symptom.
@TennisLove30 I wear a Fitbit and used to get 10-12k daily steps and now I usually get 6-8k and only hit 10 on workout days. Pregnancy for sure takes it out of me!
Wore dress pants to work (instead of my usual knit dresses and skirts). Definitely unbuttoned AND unzipped my pants on the car ride home. It was glorious!
I hope I am not missing a baby purchase thread, but I bought this kiddo an outfit I have been eyeing at work. The nascar diaper cloth is from a friend that was so excited for us that she went downstairs to our gift shop and bought it for the baby and my husband. It was nice to have someone excited for us.
Just laying in bed trying to go to sleep and my brian won't quit! Started looking up if maternity leave qualifies me to defer my student loans when the time comes. I'm not sure why that popped in my head but I'm thinking I really need to look more into this!
@daffodil_shoe oh no not with the tummy rubs already. I have a really good RBF so only a few people dared to do it last time. I'm actually going on a walk with one of them today at lunch and I think I am safe for now. Not safe from the comments about size though UGH UGH UGH.
@babyroma student loans are the worst. If they do get deferred does that mean the interest stops running? If so I'd still try to make the payments because it will all go toward principal. If not at least make the interest payments, you don't want to go further in the hole. We made a commitment to pay ours off asap last year (still working on it) and it will be such a relief when they are finally gone (hopefully before 40 haha).

I noticed on other boards they highlight a certain baby product for a week and everyone can share which ones they like/dislike and ask questions about that product. We kind of started talking about this in the registry thread but would people be interested in doing a weekly thread focused on one product/topic (ex: sleep surfaces, carriers, car seats, etc)?
@leksiL I think it depends on the type of deferment. The website for my lender seems kind of useless in terms of offering better info. I think it also depends on what pay my maternity leave entails. If it's the 60% I've been hearing....it's gonna be rough sailing for a bit financially. Currently my estimated payoff day isnt until July 2028!
@leksiL I know I come off snarky and blunt on here sometimes, but IRL I’m super smiley and bubbly...so I guess I need to work on my RBF! I guess my personality is too inviting 😆
Had my 2nd appointment today. Took my OB literally 10 mins to find the heartbeat. The little bugger kept moving around. So definitely was panicking there for a little bit but thankfully she found it and it was a strong 154.
DH usually makes a call home once a week or so just to say hi and catch up with everybody. He called yesterday and text me to say "Baba Christine says hello" (Baba is grandma in Ukrainian). Today he was like "My mom called me Tato (dad) and it felt super weird." (ftr its pronounced like Tahoe)
My one dog has been sleeping with his head on my stomach for the last month (it's a new thing for him) and it is adorable. But there is a part of me that can't wait until the baby starts kicking just to see what he does!

@celticknotfire We used to have a second dog when I was pregnant with DS that loved to cuddle my belly. It would act SO OFFENDED when the baby started kicking, the way our older dog is now whenever he farts and scares himself awake.
Of course the day my doppler I am getting for virtual visits is supposed to come, the mail STILL hasn't come yet. UGH. The mailman has 1 hour 45 mins to get his butt to my work.
If I could get some good thoughts and prayers sent my way I would appreciate it. My dog of 10.5 years died today. He was my almost 5 year olds best friend and my baby.
@TennisLove30 I’m sorry for your loss 😞 We lost one of our family dogs this week as well. She’s been around since I was twelve and her loss hurt my entire family deeply. It’s true what they say- they take a big piece of your heart with them. My thoughts are with you.
@TennisLove30 I am so sorry. My dogs are part of my family as well and it's so unfair that we get such a short period of time with them. My thoughts are with you and your family.

DS just ate all the green beans off my plate. This NEVER happens. I have no idea what got into him but I’m so glad he’s had his first vegetable in about a year and a half!!

We bought a baby swing off Kijiji yesterday (that's kind of like Craigslist for all the American folks). It is only the second purchase we have made specifically for the baby so far, the first being an otter from the Seattle Aquarium when we were there in June. I am pretty psyched about this thing, maybe because it is our first non-toy purchase. The rest of the stuff we have are hand-me-downs from friends and family.
@leksiL Hahaha. But I can totally see why you thought that. And, honestly, I would totally have pet otters if we had the right habitat for them. I hope the baby likes it too, but if not there's always the next kid.
