I had an icky preggo dream last night that involved people telling my SO the baby wasn't his...his mom saying I'm "west side trash" and telling SO I was only interested in his "Stud" services (which she really did at one point, prompting him to say "Mom, I've done that for a lot of women")... and ended with him leaving me. Here is how his comforting of me went...
Him: Those old insecurities popping up, again? Me: No, I'm not really insecure about any of that. It just felt so real Him: And you're not west side trash. Me: I know. Him: the geography is WAY off. (I'm on the far western edge of the city. "West Side" is considered to be the west part of the inner city) Me: ... Him: And I can get a DNA test any time. Me: Yes, you know I encouraged that for your family's peace of mind Him: But, why? You've been my Bavarian cream filled donut how many times? Me: Hence my knocked up state Him: Wait...you're knocked up??? Me: Yes, by you, AGAIN Him: Just perks of the service, ma'am, and you're welcome.
And yes, I'm thankful for his sarcastic, inappropriate, and perfect words. Ahhhhh It's the little moments in life that matter the most...even when it comes from two 42yo teenagers.
