After a week of being on vacation I’m thrown right into a customer meeting and not looking forward to this one bit. Take me back to vacation and no alarm clocks.
We’re dealing with my parents big decision to either close a location of their business or figure out some other plan of attack tonight. I’m not looking forward to it, and if they lay into either my husband or me about anything right now, they’re going to have their heads ripped off by a six month pregnant woman!
I fell asleep on the couch this morning after getting dressed. My husband called me to make sure I woke up... I hadn't! Somehow I was able to get me and the toddler out the door and only be 10 minutes late.
After a week of vacation, back to the grind. I just can’t deal with bull anymore. We have a co op and he has 37 more days with us. Countdown is on. This kid does jack sh**, and has now started going into my work and saves it out on a drive. Like wtf? Why are you in MY WORKPAPERS. You don’t even know your own stuff and have crossed a line. And his response when i asked what happened. Oh i did it and then opened it and realized it wasn’t what i needed. 😡
One of those days where I wish I wasn't an honest employee, lol. So 5 years ago, I hired our current photographer we use for our company headshots and other photos. She has her own studio, we have a contract with her that she does all our business photos, but she also does family and maternity and newborn portraits. Yesterday, I shot her a message asking what she charges for maternity sessions, fully expecting to have to pay. She came back and offered me the session totally for free, as a thank you for all the business I've given her over the years. However, company policy is that we have to check with HR before accepting gifts from vendors. So like a good employee, I did that...and they said I can't accept because it's a conflict of interest and considered an "excessive gift."
Wishing I'd just kept my mouth shut, lol. Could've had a free photo shoot! But, when I texted her this, she said she can still work with me, she's going to call me later...which suggests to me that she will charge us to keep within policy, but probably give us a pretty significant discount. We shall see.
@rjgmcmanus - Your company sounds lame for not letting you. But I'm glad to hear the photographer still sounds cool and nice. That is a very awesome thing for her to offer.
I got some AMAZING news at my doctor appointment today 😁😁😁😁 My blood pressure is perfect on the new medication, I've gained a healthy amount of weight, my urinalysis came back all good, baby is growing and she had a good heartbeat. So my doctor was very happy with the results of the new medication and having me on modified bedrest.
This means he is keeping me at home but did approve me to work from home for the rest of the pregnancy or until I need to stay at the hospital!!! For me, that couldn't be better news. I talked to work and I get to start back on Monday. I get to work and not be bored or behind on bills but I also get to rest at home and not worry about taking time off for appointments.
@mrszoobear Yeah...my company can be lame about a few things (see the pumping rant from the thread a few weeks ago, haha). Also, SO happy to read your news! That's such a relief! *happy dance*
