Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Finding out at our next appointment at the end of the month!
Baby is the size of a(n): Chocolate truffle
Upcoming appts: Next appointment 8/30. I'll be a day shy of 13 weeks then, and looking forward to getting testing done and seeing the baby again on a US!!
How are you feeling?: Today was the first day I've felt normal in the last 8 weeks. No big nausea spells and I worked all day and didn't need to take a nap! Very thankful for the break because these 8 weeks have lasted for.ev.er.
Rants/Raves: Rave- Going to see John Mayer on Wednesday!! I'm a huge fan and have loved him since the Your Body is a Wonderland days and have been watching all his Insta stories and posts about his concert tour.
Questions: The Product Spotlight boards have been super helpful- any items that you swear by that I should put on our registry when we make one? I won't have a baby shower but will have something for the baby after s/he's born, so we'll buy some must-have items beforehand and then hopefully get everything else right after baby comes!
GTKY: What's the most recent book you read & loved? Currently reading Becoming by Michelle Obama. She is so incredible!
How are you feeling?: still pretty nauseous and tired. Anxious. Hoping I can hear a heartbeat at my appointment. Even though I’ll be 10 weeks on paper I’m actually only 9, my OB just doesn’t believe in changing due dates unless they are over a week off
Rants/Raves: today is the first day you can reserve names for WoW classic and my classic game isn’t loading so I can’t get on and I don’t want my name to be taken!
Rave we went swimming with DS today in our community pool and he loved it! I love when we try new experiences and he likes them (it sucks when he hates new things I try).
Questions: Has anyone gotten or plan on getting an at home fetal Doppler? I’m wondering if it might ease my anxiety but I also don’t want to over or misuse it.
GTKY: What's the most recent book you read & loved? I’ve been reading a lot lately. I’d say the last one that I really loved was Breakfast at Tiffany’s by Truman Capote with a couple other short stories at the end. I had read it in HS but decided to reread it.
Me: 33 | DH: 34 Married: October, 19, 2015 EDD 2/22/17 DS1 born on 3/2/17 EDD 3/8/20 DS2 born on 3/10/20 EDD 11/24/23 (Formerly Marriedhamstermom Feb ‘17)
@lemonlove86 I've got the Becoming audiobook in my library queue!
@varimama FX you get your WoW name! I have a doppler. I tried using it today for the first time, but couldn't find the heartbeat. Even though I KNOW it's probably way too early, I still would have panicked if I didn't have an US this morning. I started using it once a day with my first (from about 12 weeks until I could feel her kicking) and it gave me a lot of peace of mind.
EDD/W+D: 3/12 9+4
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Finding out. NIPT blood draw on Thursday, so results should be in in the next two weeks!
Baby is the size of a(n): 2.92 cm (measured today, lol)
Upcoming appts: I went in today for an ultrasound. My midwife basically told me to come in "whenever" for an ultrasound, so I went in today! I have genetic counseling on 9/5 and my next midwife appointment isn't for another 4 weeks.
How are you feeling?: Pretty good! Other than being tired and a little moodier than normal, I feel the same.
Rants/Raves: Great US today; strong heartbeat and right on track with growth. Also, DD started walking today!! She's a week shy of 16 months and I was starting to stress a bit. She's been walking while holding on for a long time but nothing on her own. She woke up from her nap and took off! She's walked all over the house! I'm such a proud mama!
Questions: none at the moment
GTKY: What's the most recent book you read & loved? I'm currently listening to The Hate U Give, and basically crying though the whole thing. I know it's YA, but I teach middle school and like to stay hip with the kids. Who am I kidding, I'll never be hip again but I like to have a few talking points - lol.
@lemonlove86 Glad you're feeling better! I'm also a JM fan! I've seen him 6 times, but the last time was more than 10 years ago, so I'd love to see him again! Also, Becoming has been sitting on my nightstand since Christmas Hopefully one day I'll get to it!
@varimama Yay for pool fun! Personally, I don't plan on getting the doppler, because I know it'll make me neurotic.
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Finding out this time.
Baby is the size of a(n): Tater tot!
Upcoming appts: Finally an ultrasound tomorrow! Plus an exam and NIPT blood draw.
How are you feeling?: Tired and eating all of the things so I don't feel icky, but otherwise, OK.
Rants/Raves: Rant: ILs have now been here for 3 weeks for FIL's surgery. It's really wearing on DH. We're waiting for FIL to get approved to move to a rehab facility for the next step. Also, DS has had meltdowns during morning dropoffs at his new daycare, and I feel so bad for DH dealing with it, since I'm at work. Rave: We're looking forward to taking DS to the state fair for the first time this weekend! I'm looking forward to the food as well.
Questions: Nope
GTKY: What's the most recent book you read & loved? I'm awful about reading for fun. Everything is usually health or child related. I'm reading "Expecting Better" right now, thanks to @stassischroeder
@keeksie84 yay for your DD walking! DS was a bit later too. Like he could take 1-2 steps but then would plop down or grab on until 15ish months. Dr said anything before 18 months totally normal though so that’s great she’s taken off! What Doppler do you have?
@MrsVP614 man I hope your FIL is able to go to the rehab soon. Poor you and your DH.
Me: 33 | DH: 34 Married: October, 19, 2015 EDD 2/22/17 DS1 born on 3/2/17 EDD 3/8/20 DS2 born on 3/10/20 EDD 11/24/23 (Formerly Marriedhamstermom Feb ‘17)
@varimama, glad your DS liked the pool - that is one of my favorite outings with DS. DD was always scared of the water when she was a preschooler, so I guess I'm getting my fun in the kiddie end of the pool now.
@MrsVP614, love the state fair. hope you have a blast.
EDD/W+D: New due date March 10, so moving here from week 1 check in.
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: team finding out
Baby is the size of a(n): ?
Upcoming appts: Another ultrasound Sept 5, midwife check in Sept 10
How are you feeling?: Still nauseated... hoping it goes away soon. With DS it started to fade about week 10, since I'm entering week 10 now, I'm hoping I'll get relief soon....
Rants/Raves: A weird rave, but summer is almost over.. looking forward to sending DS back to preschool, and I'm tired of the heat which makes my nausea worse. Normally I love summer. Rant... I just want to feel better! I'm tired of being behind on housework and feeling like crap at work all day.
Questions: None at the moment.
GTKY: What's the most recent book you read & loved - Walk Two Moons, By Sharon Creech - reading it to my kids. I loved this book myself as a kid and it's still fun to re-read.
I think I am supposed to be in this group Hi! DD/W+D: 3/14 9w3d
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: not going to find out this time!!
Baby is the size of a(n): cherry
Upcoming appts: my next appt is the 23. My 30th birthday!!
How are you feeling?: garbage. I have such bad pelvic girdle pain it puts me into tears. I’d rather go through child birth than deal with this pain.
Rants/Raves: rants see above. Raves my 13 month old son is walking too! We have a new daycare which we love but morning drop offs are so tough!!!
Questions: Anyone else getting a birth photographer? I just booked mine. There goes all my money.
GTKY: What's the most recent book you read & loved? I just got but haven’t read Natural Hospital childbirth and Ina Mays Guide to childbirth. Can’t wait to have some free time. What is that though.
@zehcnasella First, I am so sorry about the pelvic pain! I can't believe it's this bad this early. I sure hope it gets better. Also, I LOVE that you booked your birth photographer already! I don't think I'll book one, but I love them. Awesome. I also want to read that book!
Upcoming appts: Tomorrow is my intake + ultrasound appointment.
How are you feeling?: Nauseous and headachy today. I've been super moody recently too. I've hit gassy + heartburn and it really sucks.
Rants/Raves: One of my favorite bands is touring in December and I just got tickets with friends this morning. Super excited for a night out!
Questions: How sucky is first trimester traveling? DH needs to go to Seattle for work and he wants the toddler and I to go with.
GTKY: What's the most recent book you read & loved? I've been reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone to my 2 yr old and we're both really enjoying it.
@EmilyLove25 literally making weekly installments haha. But I am also a photographer and that’s the one thing about my first birth I regret not having. More than just phone pics. Which I love. But want to have nice ones. And the woman I booked is absolutely amazing. I’m so excited!!
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: pretty sure I've resigned myself to finding out again. I just don't do well with surprises lol
Baby is the size of a(n): green olive
Upcoming appts: first OB appt on Friday.
How are you feeling?: better, actually. Less symptoms overall, which of course makes me nervous. My pukey nausea has improved, but now most of what I eat give me indigestion or diarrhea. And definitely already short of breath, which makes me nervous for 3rd tri when I'm house-sized.
FX my OB finds the heartbeat easily on Friday. They just use a doppler unless they can't find it - then they use an u/s.
Rants/Raves: guys, according to a doc office scale - I've gained 9 lbs already ETA - weighed myself on my own scale this morning, and according to that I've only gained 4> lbs. *phew* I shouldn't be surprised since I have to eat constantly and have been eating plenty of junk. It's not the end of the world, but now that the nausea has gotten a little better maybe I can reign in the food, or make healthier choices. FX.
Questions:
GTKY: What's the most recent book you read & loved? ETA forgot to answer this - lately I've been liking stuff by Ruth Ware.
________________
@lemonlove86 glad I'm not the only one getting a break from the nausea! And, I love this thing for trimming/filing baby nails. I give it to all my FTM friends!
@varimama glad DS liked the pool! It's so fun when they enjoy new experiences. FX for your appt on Thursday!
@keeksie84 what a great day! A good ultrasound and a new walker!!! It's so cool when they first realize that they can walk around on their own
@MrsVP614 YAY first u/s tomorrow! And, what are you and DH going to do to reward yourselves for getting through hell-month with the ILs??? Can you take a weekend away or something? And I'm glad you're liking Expecting Better
@treetop19 welcome to the best check in group And I'm totally with you on being over summer - like it isn't even very hot here but I CANNOT deal with heat right now.
@zehcnasella oooffff, sorry you're already dealing with PGP! I had quite a bit during 2nd tri last time, and it only improved when we replaced our mattress (and of course after giving birth). It really is the worst.
@WorkingOnMyNightCheese uuuuuuuugh so sorry about your migraines! I remember having some gnarly headaches around 11-12 weeks last time, and I'm really hoping that doesn't happen again. Yay for your sweet DD doing well with daycare after vaca
@aerie_star GL at your appt tomorrow! As for traveling... well you're certainly not going to feel any better when traveling. So, if you don't think you'd enjoy not being at home right now, maybe skip it.
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: We have officially decided to find out in two weeks with our NIPT.
Baby is the size of a(n): Olive
Upcoming appts: 8/27 NIPT and NT scan
How are you feeling?: slightly better, but I slept horribly last night. I have been able to stomach a bit of coffee the last two days so that's been nice for my energy.
Rants/Raves: Rant: **TW*** my 16 mo old had a seizure on Friday. She is totally fine- they ruled out all the scary stuff with a scan, but it was absolutely terrifying. Basically they said it super common and not concerning.
Questions: None
GTKY: What's the most recent book you read & loved? I loved Educated. I grew up in Idaho with lots of LDS friends (and I lived in SLC for a year), so it was interesting to read something about a culture and area I can sort of identify with.
How are you feeling?: Fine across the board. Its eerie in a way but I've only ever had fatigue, thankfully saw baby and heart beat at 7w4d
Rants/Raves: I have noticed an increased amount of people on the main street in my town not using the turn lane when turning left, instead stopping in the actual lane and waiting to turn. Absolutely drives me insane.
Questions: is anyone else symptom free? Or were you with other pregnancies? It's hard for me to feel connected to this nugget when I dont "feel" pregnant
GTKY: What's the most recent book you read & loved? I am a HUGE book nerd, even have a bookstagram for reviews (though with the fatigue I've neglected the page)! I will say my two most favorite books this year have been The Great Alone and Bear Town
@treetop19 I LOVE Walk Two Moons! In my literacy practicum class our instructor read it to us and we all sat hanging on her every word. I did it with some of my book clubs when I taught 4th grade too!
@WorkingOnMyNightCheese I loved Where the Crawdads Sing! I listened to it and having someone read it in a slight southern accent made it that much better.
@aerie_star I’ve traveled a few times during first tri, but it was just me. Bring lots of snacks and a refillable water bottle.
@stassischroeder thanks for the nail clippers rec!! I’m also nervous about the less nausea, but my dr said peak hormones are week 10 and she figured I’d start feeling better during the week or shortly after, so as long as my boobs are still hurting I'm feeling okay
@jenEP so scary about DD’s seizure. That must have been really scary for all of you!
@treetop19 I'm so with you on the heat of the Summer. I'm never a fan. But I want to get out and walk and be more active, but I can't take it in the heat.
@stassischroeder DH and I may go to a hotel Friday night. Since MIL can be home with DS, we may use some of our travel points and order room service and treat ourselves a bit. We expect them to be with us at least through next weekend, which is DS's birthday party and when we plan to announce, if all goes well at our appointment today.
@jenEP That's so scary about DD! I'm so sorry, but glad to hear she's okay.
Hiiiiiii from the beach! I haven’t been on TB all week and I haven’t had time to read everyone’s responses so I’ll go do that after this. I feel so behind!
EDD/W+D: 3/11 10weeks!!!!!!
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: finding out next week ahhhhhhh!
Baby is the size of a(n): LEGO person
Upcoming appts: bloodwork when we get back and appt on the 29th
How are you feeling?: so/so. I have been too afraid to stop taking the nausea meds since we are on vacation, but I might try when we are home and see what happens!
Rants/Raves: I started to get a UTI last night. We are on a remote island with no clinic and no pharmacy. I got some pure cranberry juice to chug and I’m praying it makes it go away. I used to get chronic UTIs and cranberry juice would take it away if I caught it early enough. It’s like drinking acid though. Yuck. I do not want to have to leave the island but I guess I will have no choice if it continues!
Questions: cannot think of any.
GTKY: What's the most recent book you read & loved? Next Year In Havana. It was a very quick but captivating historical fiction. Can’t wait to read the author’s new book!!
Baby is the size of a(n): Eastern tailed-blue
butterfly
Upcoming appts: I get my NIPT blood draw
tomorrow at 11 AM and then can be a wreck waiting for results all
weekend/week!!!!!
How are you feeling?: Yesterday morning was
ROUGH but right now I feel pretty good!
Rants/Raves: DH is having some health
issues. It is looking like he might have some sort of autoimmune condition
based on initial bloodwork. I feel really badly for him because I can tell he’s
worried/frustrated/doesn’t feel great.
Questions: Just curious whose first USs so
far were transvaginal? Mine was abdominal, so I’m really just asking out of curiosity.
GTKY: What's the most recent book you read &
loved? Ohio by Stephen Markley.
________________
@lemonlove86 OMG yes, the first trimester weeks are the
longest ones ever both physically and mentally. Also I LOVED Becoming!
@varimama Yes, I have the Sonoline B doppler and bought it
at 10 weeks with my first pregnancy. It 100% for sure helps with my anxiety. If
you do get one, make sure you watch videos on how to use it etc. I do it
quickly every night and find it VERY reassuring. I also love Capote!
@keeksie84 I am getting my blood draw for NIPT Thursday as
well… so so anxious but trying not to obsess… I know once three business days have
passed I’m going to be getting VERY anxious.
@EmilyLove25 my ultrasounds were always transvag until the NT scan, but this last u/s at 7+3 was abdominal. But, she was a cardiac tech, and I think she simply doesn't enjoy vaginas, so she was doing her best to avoid transvag LOL. She ended up being able to see LO and the other particulars for measurements just fine, but I've heard that transvag can be a bit more accurate in 1st tri. Sorry to hear about DH - I hope he's able to get some answers and a treatment plan quickly.
@miss.sally uuuuuuuuuugh UTIs are the worst! FX chugging cranberry juice does the trick!
@MrsVP614 GL today! Can't wait to see you post in the u/s thread! And I'm glad you guys might be able to get away on Friday - a night of relaxing with room service in a hotel sound divine!
@lemonlove86 I still have other symptoms, so I'm trying to not worry too much. I also switched around my prenatal schedule, which has definitely helped. I'll just feel much better after Friday's appointment!
Hey all - I'm a lurker who usually sticks to the PGAL board because I'm not entirely sure when my due date is yet (I find out today at 1 pm!!!) but until I find out officially, I'm sort of hopping around everywhere.
@lemonlove86 Have fun at your John Mayer concert tonight!!
@varimama I actually have a home Doppler and yesterday was the first time I was able to get the heartbeat. It was amazing! I'm only around 9 weeks so I wasn't sure if I'd be able to find it, but I totally did. Best sound ever! If I go to look for it again and can't find it after the 12 week mark, I'll get nervous. I think I'm going to try not to use it very often. Oh and I hope you get your WoW name!
@keeksie84 Yay for your daughter walking!! How exciting!!
@MrsVP614 My appointment is today too! This will be my first ultrasound and I'm so excited (and nervous). I hope all goes great at yours! Are you enjoying Expecting Better? I just got a copy in the mail but I haven't started reading it yet. Oh and have so much fun at the Fair (and hopefully get away from your in-laws for a while, lol)! I went to our state fair last Sunday and ate all the things! Yummm!
@treetop19 I'm excited about summer ending, too. It makes me feel peaceful knowing that Fall is right around the corner with cooler weather that hopefully won't make me feel super gross.
@zehcnasella Oooh a birth photographer sounds exciting! I hope your pain starts to subside soon, that sounds awful.
@WorkingOnMyNightCheese Ugh migraines are terrible! I've been having killer headaches lately too. Dislike.
@aerie_star Good luck at your appointment today! Mine is this afternoon and I'm so excited and nervous! And yay for the concert!
@stassischroeder I have been short of breath very easily too and it's definitely annoying. Not at all looking forward to breathing difficulties getting worse as pregnancy progresses. Oh, and I'm gaining weight too but the only foods I want to eat are unhealthy carbs (and cottage cheese).
@jenEP I'm so glad your daughter is okay -- seizures are terrifying to witness, but they are common and usually not concerning, so that's good. I hope you don't have to go through that again!
@babyfox320 I'm not completely symptom free, but I feel like I have incredibly minimal symptoms. I haven't had much morning sickness (but definitely some food aversions and cravings), but I am EXHAUSTED and incredibly moody. Also, my boobs hurt. But the lack of MS and strong nausea in general had me really concerned for a while and kept me from connecting to my little peanut, but I heard the heartbeat yesterday and I have my first ultrasound today, so I'm just trying to stay calm and positive. Every pregnancy is different and some people experience a lot of symptoms and some people experience very little. It doesn't mean your baby isn't growing healthily on pace.
@miss.sally I hope you're having so much fun on your vacation! Sorry to hear about the UTI but hopefully you caught it early enough that the cranberry juice will nix it!
@EmilyLove25 Eastern tailed blue butterfly! So fancy! My first ultrasound is today at 1 PM (I'm so excited and nervous) and I think it's going to be transvaginal. I wanted abdominal but we'll see. I'm sorry your husband is having health issues -- that is never fun. I hope he feels better soon! Good luck tomorrow at your blood draw and FX for the best results ever!
@stassischroeder Lol thanks! I'm trying not to be irritating by posting everywhere, but I also don't know where I belong yet, so to speak! Soon though!
Whomp. I’m at the nearest clinic (over an hour drive one-way), and I’ve been sitting here for over an hour waiting on results! When I called my OB this morning she said I really needed to be seen before it got worse. So. Here I am. Inside. On the last sunny day of vacation. Yay. I’m going to get myself some kind of treat on the way home.
@stassischroeder Thanks I've been feeling a lot better the last couple of days so maybe I'll risk the travel. Being miserable with my husband is probably better than being miserable at home without him.
@lemonlove86 Thanks for the tips! I will definitely put them into practice if I go.
@EmilyLove25 They're a Japanese metal band named Dir en grey.
@Malidocious Thanks It went well. All the luck to you this afternoon!
@jenEP Was it a febrile seizure? My DD had one of those a few months ago and it scared the sh*t out of us! I wasn't there when it happened and I'm secretly grateful to have missed that trauma. I hear that about 50% of kiddos have more than one, so I'm scared it will happen again. So glad to hear your is OK.
@EmilyLove25 We can tear our hair out together as we wait!
@babyfox320 I'm also almost symptom free, other than exhaustion. The negative part of me keeps telling myself that I'm just lazy (I'm a teacher on summer break), but rationally I know I'm tired from growing a tiny human while chasing a small human. I'm way less moody and my boobs don't hurt like my first pregnancy, but I'm trying not to let myself worry about it.
@EmilyLove25 My U/S was transvaginal yesterday (10w) and last time my first one was as well (8w) I think it's just more accurate and they were checking my ovaries and whatnot. I don't expect "wanda" to be present at the rest of them. @miss.sally I'm sorry you're dealing with this on vacay, and I hope you feel better soon! @Malidocious I like "Expecting Better" so far. I crave evidence, but it's not presented in a confusing/boring way, which is nice.
I updated in the U/S and appointments thread Also, IL update, my FIL was finally able to move to a rehab facility last night, one week behind schedule. It happens to be on our street, so MIL will be able willing to drive herself, which will be a big weight off of DH's shoulders. They're saying he'll be there for 7-10 days, so my internal goal is to have them go back home after DS's birthday party next weekend. *crosses fingers*
@EmilyLove25 my first one was transvaginal this time and with DS. I also had a low placenta last time so they had to do transvaginal again at like 32 weeks to make sure it moved up. (It’s early but if anyone is told they have one they are more common than you think and move up like 98% of the time). I remember hearing it at 20 weeks and thinking I was doomed to a c-section but my doctor was like no you’ll most likely be fine and he told me more about it!
Me: 33 | DH: 34 Married: October, 19, 2015 EDD 2/22/17 DS1 born on 3/2/17 EDD 3/8/20 DS2 born on 3/10/20 EDD 11/24/23 (Formerly Marriedhamstermom Feb ‘17)
Hi everyone! Let me preface this with saying I'm sorry I've been MIA for the past 2 weeks. It has been a couple of intense weeks at work and I just haven't had the energy on top of that to keep up with the board. I'll do some catching up, lovetitting, commenting etc. Been missing you all tho!
EDD/W+D: March 10; 10w+2d
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Green
Baby is the size of a(n): Strawberry!
Upcoming appts: First tri screening and 12 week appt on Aug. 27
How are you feeling?: I am *really* hoping that this week is my peak for nausea, cuz it's been worse this week than previously. Other than that, I'm feeling less bloated and generally more physically comfortable in my clothes for the moment, so that's been nice.
Rants/Raves: We've finally told a bit more of our family about the pregnancy, that has been fun and exciting! I just finished this huge project at work earlier this week, so I'm in the "recovery" phase now where I'm actually able to read all the emails I've had to ignore and catch up on life in general that I've missed over the past couple weeks.
Questions: None right now.
GTKY: What's the most recent book you read & loved? I've really been slacking on my reading list this year. The last book I absolutely LOVED was the Broken Earth series by N.K. Jemisin. I also loved Gabrielle Union's memoir.
----- @MrsVP614 hang in there with the in-laws, it sounds like you're doing a great job with a tough situation. Have a great time at the state fair! @jenEP omg that is so scary! I'm glad docs said everything is ok. @babyfox320 ohhhh that turn lane thing would drive me nuts!!! @EmilyLove25 my very first one in the ER was TVS; my first one at the OB was abdominal but then I had to get a TVS the same day to double-confirm the singleton. @miss.sally ugh, sorry about the UTI that is never fun, especially interfering with your vacation!
@MrsVP614 I was stalking last night watching for your update after your appointment! I forget about your crazy work schedule LOL. Anywho, so glad the appointment went well, and FX the ILs are out of your hair after next weekend!
@sunflower_auryn so sorry you've been feeling so nauseous Glad you're done with your big work project, though!
Well I'm officially in this group!!! :-D I had my first ultrasound yesterday and everything went well! I am measuring at 9w+6d with an EDD of March 13th!
EDD/W+D: March 13th (Friday the 13th!) / 9w+6d!
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: I definitely want to find out!
Baby is the size of a(n): A little kumquat
Upcoming appts: August 29th, I go in for NT testing and another US.
How are you feeling?: I feel really good for the first time this entire pregnancy. I mean, I'm still scared and will continue to be, but seeing the little nugget dance around and hearing/seeing the heart beat away was so, so good for my spirit. I can't wait to see the baby again! Physically, I am still exhausted and my boobs ache so badly if they aren't supported properly. I'm having major food aversions and cravings, but no MS or intense nausea, really. But the OB and the tech both said that everything was looking healthy and in the right spot, etc. so I'm feeling more at peace than I have been.
Rants/Raves: Rave! My boss brought in a bunch of these packets of chocolate-covered blueberries and they are freakishly delicious. I need so many more than I have right now!
*TW* Rant - I really like my partner's mom but she was incredibly overzealous in telling people about our pregnancy the first time (in March/April) and I ended up miscarrying and she never really told anyone, so some of his family thinks I'm way further along and it's really, really uncomfortable because I don't know who knows what anymore (and we don't see these family members very often at all) and it's still painful to talk about. I guess I should address it somehow but I just get irritated because I wasn't the one who prematurely told people anything, and now I'm going to have to explain that we lost one baby and are pregnant again thankfully... it's just such a cluster-f*ck of information and I just wish she would have kept her mouth shut until we were ready to tell people or that she would have politely explained what happened to them so I didn't have to. But no.
Questions: Is anybody here on an antidepressant? My GP wants me to start taking Zoloft because it's pregnancy-safe (no studies have shown any effect on a fetus thus far) but my OB wants me to wait until I'm at least out of the first trimester. I'm fine waiting, but I'm also fine just not taking anything, I think. Then again, I am very very prone to depression and I had been a long-time user of Prozac until last Christmas when I ended up stopping cold turkey (which wasn't a smart thing to do, I'll admit). So I'm just curious on what you guys think or have been told?
GTKY: What's the most recent book you read & loved? I read Big Little Lies on a whim when I was on a business trip in LA and needed something to read on the airplane. I loved it! I want to watch the series now, lol. I just picked up Where the Crawdads Sing but I haven't started reading that one yet. I also have a stack of pregnancy books, including Expecting Better which I'm really excited to read, that I want to dig into but I've just been way too tired to do any reading.
@miss.sally Awe man, I'm sorry you're having to deal with all that on your last day of vacation! What a freaking bummer! You should definitely treat yo'self.
@MrsVP614 You are a much stronger woman than I am to put up with and house your in-laws for so long! I would be so irritated and needing my own personal space so badly by this point.
@stassischroeder I am very excited about that!! I always knew I belonged here!
Re: Weekly Group 2 Check-in (3/9 - 3/16) w/o 8/12
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: finding out
Baby is the size of a(n): golden snitch
Upcoming appts: Thursday

@varimama Yay for pool fun! Personally, I don't plan on getting the doppler, because I know it'll make me neurotic.
@keeksie84 That's so exciting that DD is walking!

@varimama thanks! I have the sonoline doppler. I got it cheap on offer up.
@treetop19 Walk Two Moons was one of my favorites!!! Now I want to reread it! So fun you're reading it to your kids.
@zehcnasella yay for walking!

Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Finding out but won't share publicly, I don't think
Baby is the size of a(n): pecan
Upcoming appts: US this Friday!
How are you feeling?: Oh, still a plate of hot garbage over here. My nausea is gone (HOORAY!) but I'm on day five of migraines. WTAF.
Rants/Raves: Rant is above. Rave is that DD did so well transitioning back to daycare after vacation today. So proud!
Questions:
GTKY: What's the most recent book you read & loved?
Where the Crawdads Sing
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: green
Baby is the size of a(n): tatertot

Baby is the size of a(n): tater tot
Upcoming appts: August 27th
@keeksie84 that’s SO exciting about DD!! Congratulations.
@MrsVP614 that is so unfortunate about your ILs.

EDD/W+D: March 12/ 9 weeks + 6 days (holy cow!)
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Green!
Baby is the size of a(n): Eastern tailed-blue butterfly
Upcoming appts: I get my NIPT blood draw tomorrow at 11 AM and then can be a wreck waiting for results all weekend/week!!!!!
How are you feeling?: Yesterday morning was ROUGH but right now I feel pretty good!
Rants/Raves: DH is having some health issues. It is looking like he might have some sort of autoimmune condition based on initial bloodwork. I feel really badly for him because I can tell he’s worried/frustrated/doesn’t feel great.
Questions: Just curious whose first USs so far were transvaginal? Mine was abdominal, so I’m really just asking out of curiosity.
GTKY: What's the most recent book you read & loved? Ohio by Stephen Markley.

@lemonlove86 OMG yes, the first trimester weeks are the longest ones ever both physically and mentally. Also I LOVED Becoming!
@varimama Yes, I have the Sonoline B doppler and bought it at 10 weeks with my first pregnancy. It 100% for sure helps with my anxiety. If you do get one, make sure you watch videos on how to use it etc. I do it quickly every night and find it VERY reassuring. I also love Capote!
@keeksie84 I am getting my blood draw for NIPT Thursday as well… so so anxious but trying not to obsess… I know once three business days have passed I’m going to be getting VERY anxious.
@MrsVO614 Can’t wait for your US update!
@treetop19 I am definitely ready for fall weather here also!
@WorkingOnMyNightCheese Migraines?? That isn’t fair! I hope they lessen!
@aerie_star What band?!?!?!
@stassischroeder Oh the fun of not being able to enjoy your symptoms lessening because then you worry. Yay for the first trimester!

@lemonlove86 Thanks for the tips! I will definitely put them into practice if I go.
@EmilyLove25 They're a Japanese metal band named Dir en grey.
@Malidocious Thanks It went well. All the luck to you this afternoon!
@miss.sally I'm sorry you're dealing with this on vacay, and I hope you feel better soon!
@Malidocious I like "Expecting Better" so far. I crave evidence, but it's not presented in a confusing/boring way, which is nice.
I updated in the U/S and appointments thread
Also, IL update, my FIL was finally able to move to a rehab facility last night, one week behind schedule. It happens to be on our street, so MIL will be able willing to drive herself, which will be a big weight off of DH's shoulders. They're saying he'll be there for 7-10 days, so my internal goal is to have them go back home after DS's birthday party next weekend. *crosses fingers*

-----
@MrsVP614 hang in there with the in-laws, it sounds like you're doing a great job with a tough situation.
@sunflower_auryn so sorry you've been feeling so nauseous Glad you're done with your big work project, though!

Rant - I really like my partner's mom but she was incredibly overzealous in telling people about our pregnancy the first time (in March/April) and I ended up miscarrying and she never really told anyone, so some of his family thinks I'm way further along and it's really, really uncomfortable because I don't know who knows what anymore (and we don't see these family members very often at all) and it's still painful to talk about.
@MrsVP614 You are a much stronger woman than I am to put up with and house your in-laws for so long! I would be so irritated and needing my own personal space so badly by this point.
@stassischroeder I am very excited about that!! I always knew I belonged here!
