Hey ladies. Haven't been in here much lately, but y’all have given me so much support over my long journey of IF, loss and dealing with a SCH so I wanted to update you on the most recent blip on this ridiculous journey. My water broke last week at only 23 weeks, and I’m hospitalized indefinitely until this little rascal makes his appearance. I’m hoping that’s a long time from now, as he’s still way too little for this big world. I just hit 24 weeks on Wednesday (aka viability), which is hopefully the first of many milestones. Any stories of hope, or even just positive vibes, are all welcome ❤️
@leilee101 My thoughts and prayers are with you and the little one. 24 weeks is a great milestone and hopefully you'll be able to squeeze a few more weeks out. Even extreme preterm babes do quite well these days so I'm hopeful for the best outcome for you two! We have a handful of 24-28 weekers in our practice and while they have some challenges early on, they're awesome kids ultimately. Hugs for you

@leilee101 sending you and your babe lots of prayers! There was a girl on here a few years back who was in a similar situation. I believe (if I recall correctly) her water broke even earlier than yours and doctor was telling her the baby wouldn't survive and that she had to terminate the pregnancy. Luckily she didn't listen and her baby stayed in nice and cozy for a while. She went on to have a beautiful baby boy. And like PP said, these things happen and babies grow up beautifully! I know it's stressful for you, but hang in there and FX all turns out OK!

@leilee101 Sending prayers for you and your baby I can't even imagine what are you going through. Stay strong. What is your doctor saying? Can your waters replenish themselves?
@leilee101 that's quite a scare! A former coworker of mine had their son at 27/28 weeks. It was a long journey, but now he's completely on track with other kids his age and has been since he was 3 years (he's 6 now).
I spent two years working with families who had premature babies and several who had PROM as early as 17 weeks. All the babies seemed to stay put until at least 28 weeks, which is good, but if baby comes before 32 weeks be prepared for significant respiratory issues, the lungs mature last, so they will need a lot of help. I would also start gathering your support system, about 80% of parents with babies in the NICU develop PTSD and YOU will need lots of love and support, not just baby. It’s also OK to be upset and resentful that your journey isn’t going “as planned”, that doesn’t mean you aren’t grateful for what you have, it just means you need to mourn the loss of things like maternity photos, which is perfectly normal!
Everyone is going to tell you that things will eventually be fine, and they are right, but be very very kind to yourself on this journey - you already struggled to get here and there will be lots of struggle ahead. It’s ok to not handle it all with grace.

@leilee101 sending you and your little one all my love , Doll! Hang in there momma you’re doing everything you can for your little guy right now. And YGPM
Thanks ladies ❤️ @dukie001 yes water continues to replenish but if there’s a hole it’s just going to keep leaking out. On Monday it was between 3-4 cm and yesterday’s ultrasound was 10.5 cm of fluid so it’s gone up a ton but they don’t seem too concerned with the fluid level itself, as they expect it to fluctuate. In extremely rare cases the sac can heal itself but I’m not expecting or counting on that.
@PoeMasque thanks so much for the kind words, we have an amazing support system and they have already gone above and beyond. I know we have a long road ahead of us but taking things one day at a time.
@leilee101. Sending you the hugest hugs!!! You are such a brave and strong warrior mama already - keep up the awesome work! I'm sure it's going to be a lot of up and down with the emotions, but I do hope first and foremost you will guard against blaming yourself, if that has started to creep in, idk. I know it's hard not to as moms, we blame ourselves over so much less! But you do know you didn't do anything wrong or to cause it; you did all the things RIGHT by going in right away and getting the best care possible! Your little fighter is so very lucky to have YOU as his mama! Please remember that! ❤❤❤
@leilee101 Thank you for sharing your update. I know each one of these milestones and week you get to keep your LO inside is helpful. PP have given you so much great advice. I will definitely be thinking about you and I hope you can keep us updated. Great job focusing on one day at a time.
I hope you're still doing well and baby boy is staying put!
@Tulips29 you are thinking of @ADRIANAC1982! She and I are FB friends and her little boy couldn't be doing better. Her water broke at 16 weeks and she was on hospital bedrest until 34 weeks when they did a C section. Her doctors tried to get her to terminate the pregnancy which is just insane to me. So glad she didn't listen! I'm sure the owner of this thread will do just wonderfully.
