Had my Saline Sono today, sort of good news / "maybe" bad news
So the good news is that everything is probably fine and my RE doesn't want to delay IVF. So we are still all systems go for starting IVF next week!
But he saw something on my uterus that could be something or could be nothing. He said it could be a fibroid or polyp, or some retained tissue, or it could just be from how he inserted the catheter. Or it could be nothing at all. So we will still go forward with an egg retrieval and getting hopefully some great embryos tested and frozen. But then before we do a transfer he wants to revisit my uterus and see where we are at. He said worst case I would need a hysteroscopy before we could do a FET.
It's not exactly the news I wanted to hear. As I am such a planner and have had the idea of an October transfer in my mind since discussing IVF to begin with. But It is better than not being able to move forward with IVF at all, and October could still happen. I am just going to hope it was nothing and by the time we cross this bridge there will be no reason to delay FET.
Ugh, sorry @hanshotfirst77. But I'm so glad you'll be able go forward with ER on time and FX so hard that it's nothing and there won't be any delay in your FET!
@hanshotfirst77 ugh, sorry for the bummer news! I was in the same boat too. My saline sono before my ER was abnormal but didn't impact going through IVF (yay)! My repeat saline sono 3 weeks ago showed the same abnormalities so I had the hysteroscopy and polypectomy yesterday. They should fit the procedure in to the calendar of your FET. I think the timing for an October FET or not will most likely depend on how long they have you on BC prior to starting meds. My clinic always has some down time so I've been on BC for quite a while before my FET will occur. Hopefully you won't be on it for very long, if at all!

@ruby696@inthewoods23 Thanks guys. Trying hard to focus on the positive and just concentrate on the IVF part.
I know my nurse already said I have to be on BC after I get AF after the ER while we wait for the PGS test results before they'd allow me to start FET meds. So I'm hoping like you said they fit it into the calendar and we can do the Saline Sono while we are waiting on the test results and then worst case if I need the procedures we can do them and then go right into the FET or have it be part of it, idk how it works but it makes sense we can do it all and have limited delay. I'm glad to hear it didn't slow down your FET much.
@hanshotfirst77 my PGS results came in about 5 days, but I know they say it can take up to 2 weeks. AF came for me in about 10 days or so (a little earlier than I was expecting since my LP is about 13 days). Saline Sonos have to be done when AF is gone and the hysteroscopy would need to be done before you start meds (lupron if you are starting with that). I think it's entirely possible to fit that all in! Even if you're only on BC for 20 some days. And they can always adjust the number of days you're on BC to fit things in. I really hope you can have your FET in October!

@hanshotfirst77 my first saline showed the same thing. I agree they should be able to fit it into the schedule! My friend that has endo had one before each of her transfers to make sure everything looked as good as possible. So hopefully it’ll help you with the IVF process, too!
I'm so overwhelmed with this thread! Work has been crazy, and I haven't posted at all this week, so I'm just going to try to jump in. Apologies for probably missing a lot of people!
@bluetickgal Hugs! I'm so sorry you're back here. I hope your RE appointment is positive. I know our first appointment really helped me feel optimistic for the first time in a long time. Like, they do this for a living! I know that's probably naive of me to say, but it felt good to hear someone talk to me like I wasn't something they couldn't handle.
@inthewoods23 I love your lucky shirt! And I love the idea of you wearing it at each important step! Such a fun and significant memory!
@hanshotfirst77 Yay for moving forward with IVF! I'm sorry about the ambiguous results. As others have said, hopefully it's nothing that impacts your IVF timeline.
@ruby696 Yay for getting close to transfer! I'm so excited for you!
@emeraldduchess I'm so glad that your cousin was able to relate to you and be so open with you. As this community is a testament to, it is so important to have those connections during this awful process.
@b_1029 100 year old house! That sounds amazing! I love that some of the original design elements have been preserved.
@mokay19 Yay for a plan moving forward! And building a custom house sounds amazing! I don't know how I could ever narrow down all the things I think I would want in a home.
@bobbyflies2020 I'm glad you're able to enjoy your bench time, and celebrate 5 years together! Congratulations!
Diagnosis (if you've been): Blocked Fallopian Tube, AMA
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Tomorrow is our appointment with the RE to go over the results of my CD 3 labs and DH's SA. I can technically see the results in our patient portals, but I'm waiting for that big-picture conversation. Honestly I expect him to say that I need additional testing to determine what is going on with my tube issue, so probably nothing else big will happen this cycle.
How are things going?: According to Dr. Google, our labs seemed good (I think) so I am feeling a little more optimistic about tomorrow's appointment.
Any questions?: Is there anything I should make sure to ask tomorrow, that might not be an obvious question?
GTKY: What is your favorite part/aspect/finishing touch/feature/quality/amenity about/in your home? It could be the ultimate reason you bought your home or something that came about after living there for years. Our house was built in the 60s and has a really unusual layout. The thing I like most is probably our master bath. The two sinks face each other, with a wall between them. It's just a fun take on a two-sink bathroom, and people always comment on it when they see it. Honestly, our house isn't that great, but I love it, and will really be sad to leave if/when we do.
@hanshotfirst77 sorry about the confusing/unclear news! That is definitely good news it won’t delay your ER, and hopefully it won’t delay your FET beyond October either!!
@shoogapoff thanks so much! Yes, we are looking forward to the RE appt. for that same reason...we are ready to meet with someone that this is their main focus. I feel like my OB cares, but fertility is a very small part of what she deals with...I don’t know that we will be an easy case, but hopefully our RE is up for the challenge! I hope your RE appt. goes well tomorrow and you get some peace of mind hearing about your results. Your master bath double sinks sound very interesting...makes our double vanity sound boring!
@hanshotfirst77 sorry about the sono results, but you must be relieved that it shouldn't delay IFV!
@shoogapoff so glad that your results seem OK on the portal. I hope tomorrow goes well! Even if your RE doesn't have any answers and orders more tests, the good news is that you've already ruled out quite a bit.
@hanshotfirst77 I am so sorry it wasn’t the results you were hoping for (and that we were all hoping for you) but it’s a good thing that you can still move forward according to plan and get the ball rolling on things. Keep focusing on the positive, like you said ♥️

@hanshotfirst77 I hope your timeline works out! I know it’s nervewracking. @shoogapoff Thinking of you today. Hope it goes well.
Today is my first RE appointment!!! I’m a couple of days post O, and CD17, so I’m hoping they will do CD21 testing next week. I really want to get as much done as possible before going back to work because I don’t want to have a bunch of awkward conversations with my boss, asking to come in late.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
Good luck at your appointments today, @shoogapoff and @NYTino24! (Hope I didn't forget anyone!) 💚 @misshelen86 hope you get good results on your bloodwork today! 💜
AFM, my karyotyping came back and they didn't find any abnormalities. DH and I are so relieved. I think this means our IF and losses are most likely due to low progesterone/AMA. Not sure what else they can do as far as testing at this point. Now we just need to decide on a plan if this cycle is a bust.
@emeraldduchess That’s good news. Hoping some progesterone can help you!!

@emeraldduchess happy to hear that the karyotyping came back good and I really hope that the progesterone does the trick! Maybe I missed this before, but what is your next treatment or testing step?
@emeraldduchess what a relief!! Let’s hope help on the progesterone is all you need!

I've said this before, but I'll say it again - there's been so many good things going on in our IF threads lately, it makes me so happy to see so many people making progress and getting answers!

RE confirmed I did ovulate on the left side. I had 8 follicles on the right and 6 on the other. Lining is good and ovaries / uterus look normal with a couple of cysts in the cervix. She is going to give me progesterone suppositories and if I’m not KU, then I will do CD3/CD21 bloodwork next cycle and DH will do his analysis. Good news is their monitoring appointments are as early as 5:30 am, so it won’t be an issue with work.

I just got back from our appointment. My estrogen was a little high from my CD3 labs, so he wants to repeat them next month. Otherwise, my labs and DH's SA looked good. He recommended, and we agreed, to do clomid and IUI with a trigger shot next cycle. I feel good about it. Also, he said my blockage isn't a problem. No surgery or further testing needed.
@shoogapoff that's great that you have a plan and everything looks good! Don't worry too much about the estrogen test. My first round of labs showed low AMH(which didn't make sense because I had so many follies on my scan), but when they repeated them they were normal. You must be so relieved that you won't need surgery for the blocked tube!

@NYTino24 So glad you have a plan in place and that is awesome you can get monitoring in before work!
@shoogapoff What a relief! Glad you have a plan moving forward, hopefully this does the trick!
Most of my bloodwork came back normal. My FSH was 9, which I think is on the high end of normal. Is normal usually considered below 10? My Dr. Said she would try to refer me on to an RE, but they may not accept me until I’ve had my ultrasound.. which isn’t until the end of the month.
Me: 35 DH: 35 TTC since 9/2018
Dx: MFI 10/19- First RE visit 2/20- DH had surgery for bilateral varicoceles 7/20- IUI with 5 mg letrozole- BFN 9/20- IVF. 9 eggs retrieved, 9 mature, 8 fertilized with ICSI, 7 blasts, 4 PGT-A normal 11/20- Mock transfer/ERA 12/20- FET #1- transferred one 4AB- BFN 3/21- FET #2- transferred one 3AB- BFP! @misshelen86 My RE likes to see FSH under 10, although under 12 is considered normal by labs. So you're on the higher side of normal, but still looking good as far as I'm concerned!
@ruby696 Thanks, that’s a relief. I need to stay away from Dr. Google.. there’s way too much conflicting info out there and it’s so overwhelming!

@NYTino24 glad to hear that you had a good appointment! Also, super jealous about that early monitoring time! My clinic doesn't start until 7am and I'm usually already at work for 30 minutes by then!
@shoogapoff I'm glad you're feeling good about next cycle's plan and hopefully the re-test next month shows it within limits. Also, yay for no surgery or extra testing
@misshelen86 I said this before I think, but I still find it so weird that you have to wait so long for an ultrasound. Also, Dr. Google can make me such a worry-wart... but that doesn't stop me from Googling haha
@misshelen86 I'm so glad things look normal so far! That's crazy that you can't be accepted by an RE until your ultrasound. If your ultrasound is at least booked, then they should let you schedule your first RE appointment.

Thanks guys.

@misshelen86 FX for GREAT CD3 test results!
@shoogapoff so glad that your results seem OK on the portal. I hope tomorrow goes well! Even if your RE doesn't have any answers and orders more tests, the good news is that you've already ruled out quite a bit.

Today is my first RE appointment!!! I’m a couple of days post O, and CD17, so I’m hoping they will do CD21 testing next week. I really want to get as much done as possible before going back to work because I don’t want to have a bunch of awkward conversations with my boss, asking to come in late.

TTC since 9/2018
10/19- First RE visit
2/20- DH had surgery for bilateral varicoceles
7/20- IUI with 5 mg letrozole- BFN
9/20- IVF. 9 eggs retrieved, 9 mature, 8 fertilized with ICSI, 7 blasts, 4 PGT-A normal
11/20- Mock transfer/ERA
12/20- FET #1- transferred one 4AB- BFN
3/21- FET #2- transferred one 3AB- BFP! Due Dec 2021
