@kpearse99 I hope all the timing works out for you! Besides the first round of letrozole during my IUIs, I O'ed much earlier than usual - I was triggering on CD12 instead of CD17. It's a mixed bag though if you'll O earlier than normal, at your usual time, or even later.
Today is Tuesday, the same day of the week as my egg retrieval. I wore this shirt that day so I'm wearing it again.
Because you know... 😆
My transfer date is also going to be a Tuesday (if all goes according to plan). Probably going to have the same shirt on for that too, just to be safe. 😄

@inthewoods23 Keep us posted. Hope it goes well today!!
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
@mokay19 I think I’ve been ovulating somewhere between CD 16-20 so maybe the timing will workout. The doctor just called and said it’s always hard to predict but he thinks it’s okay to get started this cycle as I’m only out of town for a short while and they can usually work around things like this. So we are getting started this go around!!! I’m still nervous about the timing, my need to try and control things like this is having me feel so uneasy because I can’t control it lol but I don’t know how the meds will effect my O cycle. I find it interesting letrozole has you O on CD 20... I guess i just thought the meds would regulate O more to a CD 14 timeframe but I really don’t know how this all works.
@inthewoods23 I’m thinking about you!!!!! I love the shirt and the Tuesday timeframes for you!! Keep us posted ♥️♥️♥️
@hanshotfirst77 yes for shit getting real!!!!! And the doctor said it’s a go for me to still start this cycle so it’s getting real for me too!!
Anyone that has experience with IUI, letrozole and the trigger can you let me know what to expect all together? Timeframes, what to do before the IUI and what to do after? I know the RE will tell me all this but I’d love to hear your experiences!
ETA: can you drink while taking Letrozole?

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Waiting for RE appointment next Thursday. Looking forward to getting all the testing done and figuring out a plan going forward!
How are things going?: Not so great, but trying to stay optimistic. **TW (pregnancy/loss) in spoiler:
I got a positive test at 16DPO last week. I had a Beta done to confirm pregnancy, and then a repeat on Friday showed decreasing HCG, and now I’m going through my second loss this year. We are glad we have the RE appointment coming up and can get some RPL testing done now. We are ready/hoping to get some answers.
Any questions?: I’m guessing the first appt will be a lot of talking and hopefully the beginning of some testing. We thought our main issue was getting pregnant, but after 2 losses now, it seems like maintaining a pregnancy is also an issue for us. I’m going to make a list of all kinds of questions to ask surrounding both, is there anything obscure that I might not be thinking of that we should ask?
GTKY: What is your favorite part/aspect/finishing touch/feature/quality/amenity about/in your home? It could be the ultimate reason you bought your home or something that came about after living there for years.
We love our house...it has the perfect layout and all the space we need (and a huge yard for our pups), although the previous owners had terrible taste! Late last year we had all the floors redone and just recently finished painting all the walls/ceilings...now it is exactly like we want it (aside from a kitchen remodel, which is down the road)!
@hanshotfirst77 that’s exciting you are so close to your ER! Glad you love your new house too!
@inthewoods23 good luck with your surgery today!! That is so sweet your DH wants to be there with you...and I love that shirt!
@ruby696 yay for being so close to your transfer!! Hope the stims aren’t too bad!
@emeraldduchess glad you had a good weekend and the progesterone side effects aren’t terrible! Also, love a good Mean Girls reference, but sorry for the bloat!
@b_1029 glad you are enjoying testing out the trigger! Your house sounds like it has so much character!
@mokay19 your custom house with land sounds awesome! That’s our plan for our retirement house...I know it’s way down the road for us, but it’s already fun to think about!
@kpearse99 glad AF arrived and timing worked out for testing! So happy you are getting to proceed with the IUI this cycle!
I think the first US monitoring appt is around CD12. They want the follicles to be at least 20mm before triggering. If the follicles are below 20, they'll calculate when you should come in for a 2nd US. I've been at 19mm at an US appt and they just tell me to trigger the next evening.
I was always told BD around the time you do the trigger shot, then abstain until your IUI since YH will need to provide sperm. Sperm goes through a wash to get rid of most of the bad sperm (like the non-motile). They had my DH come in... I think an hour or 2 hours ahead of my scheduled IUI. IUI is simply inserting a catheter into good uterus and they inject the sperm and you're all done. They told me to relax for about 15 minutes before getting up to leave. They say BD that night and then 14 days later go in for beta.
I don't think I had any restrictions outside when to BD. Things can resume as normal once it's all done.

@kpearse99 I've done 3 IUI w/Letrozole +Trigger. With mine There was always 1 or 2 monitoring appts mid cycle usually between cd10-12. Then Trigger usually CD 12-13 and IUI CD14-15. I usually have a later O naturally like CD16-20 but on meds I O more around CD14-15. But I know everyone is different a plenty of people still O later on the meds. Good luck with your IUI!
@bluetickgal I'm so sorry for all your going through right now. But I am glad you are seeing your RE soon and Fx for some answers and a path forward
@inthewoods23@hanshotfirst77@BusinessWife thanks so much! I’m trying to ease my way back in...the supportive community here is definitely making it a little easier.
Good luck today @inthewoods23! Love your shirt and yes, definitely wear it for the transfer!
@kpearse99 Re: drinking - my RE didn't/doesn't want me drinking much (or anything) and only 8oz or less of caffeine per day. But that might be because of my loss history? I used Clomid and Follistim for my IUI's, not Letrozole, but I don't think drinking is a problem as far as medication interactions go.
@bluetickgal I am so so sorry I really hope you get some answers and clarity from the RE. In the meantime, we are all here for you.
@ruby696 and @inthewoods23 thanks for the additional info and details ladies!! I really appreciate you sharing your experiences with me. My RE called and wants me to start the letrozole today (CD 2) instead of on CD 4 to try and time our IUI better since I have to travel. So I'll be starting that journey today instead of on Thursday! Found out my insurance doesn't cover the trigger shot but my RE has a pharmacy that offers it at a discount so I'll only pay $54.00 instead of $180.00 like at my pharmacy. I can handle that. I can't believe I'm starting this next journey! I'm so nervous because I don't know how the timing is going to pan out, but I need to let go of the fact that I can't control this.

@hanshotfirst77 and @ruby696 it’s got to be such a whirlwind how fast things are happening now! I’m excited for both of you and excited that you have someone who is going through a similar process at the same time!
@b_1029 I love going to weddings! Have fun! Also, the house question was exactly for the reasons you’re stating—I want to focus on the good things here because I always get swept away about what needs to be fixed! I’m glad it could get you to remember the good too. In fact, your house sounds beautiful!
@emeraldduchess I hope the progesterone calms down soon! I too loved the mean girls reference, but I’m sorry about the fight with your pants. Clothes struggles really weigh me down. Hoping the best for you on Friday!!
@inthewoods23 anxiously awaiting a positive update from you 🙂
@mokay19 I hope the script comes in soon. How did that management fee resolve? Anyway, 4 acres AND your dream house?? Good for you!! I would have no idea about what to even map out for a dream house. I had thought that I’d enjoy decorating a house and picking out paints, but turns out I suck at it, ha ha.
@kpearse99 I’m glad you were able to be seen and hopefully your timing will continue to work out this cycle!! Random, but are you in the philly area too? Sounds like your house location is really nice! I hope you’re enjoying NOLA!! I’ve never been, but I’d love to see it!
@jennifer_louise I’m so sorry that last week was rough. Hopefully the universe is making it up to you with an extra delightful vacation!
@misshelen86 bigger kitchens are so nice! That was definitely an upgrade for me too from my apartment. It makes such a difference! I hope your last day before vacation is an easy one!
@bobbyflies2020 I’m so glad to hear that you are feeling good! Happy early anniversary!! I hope the RE consult gets all your questions answered and gets you feeling good about next steps.
@bluetickgal ugh, I’m so sorry to see you back here! I hope your appointment gets you some answers and most importantly solutions. Hugs!
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): 5mg letrozole & then monitoring to make sure I don’t have too many eggs.
How are things going?: well, either the letrozole messed with my attitude, or the nerves are setting in already. I’m worried about how I’m still spotting/having a light period on cd 6/7, but I guess it shouldn’t matter. I’m also super nervous about my appointment on Monday to see how many eggs are good to go. And then I’m nervous that if I don’t have too many eggs, I’ll miss my window to hio anyway since I can’t start trying until I get the dr’s ok. I just need to refocus and take a breath. Actually, typing out the fears kind of helps to see that they’re not that bad overall. I can’t wait until I can stop taking hormone stuff.
Any questions?: has anyone else taken a higher dosage (5mg/night) of letrozole?
GTKY: What is your favorite part/aspect/finishing touch/feature/quality/amenity about/in your home? It could be the ultimate reason you bought your home or something that came about after living there for years.
I think my favorite aspect is the community feel (with sidewalks and walk ability and random occasional community events), but I also really like having a big garage for tools.
@begging4abump I take 7.5 mg of Letrozole! I have PCOS and still only produce 1 follicle each cycle. My nurse actually said that she's surprised that I even respond to that given my hormone levels haha The management fee was "resolved" in the way that I agreed to pay it and get a "free" mid-cycle monitoring ultrasound and bloodwork. That way I'll more comfortably do the trigger shot with this cycle to really give it our all for this last try. I'm not necessarily happy about it, but I would be even less happy if I had to not do a cycle so I begrudgingly agreed.
@begging4abump I am in the Philly area!! I haven't arrived in NOLA yet, as my flight has been delayed 5 hours! ugh!!! Sounds like you and I are both obsessing and overthinking things that we really have NO control over!! But, on the plus side, I'm only a few days behind you in this cycle so we will pretty much be doing this together! I can't help with the higher dose of Letrozole though, I'm only on 2.5 a day. Do you take your pills at night?

@begging4abump I have done both 2.5mg and 5mg letrozole. I much preferred the 2.5mg both for side effects and for how I responded to them follie size wise. But I didn't find a difference in amount of follies. Fx for your monitoring appt!
@kpearse99 oh man, what a delay! Par for the course with Phl, but geez, sorry! And, yep, two peas in a pod with stressing over what’s out of our control. Maybe the stress makes me feel like I’m doing something?? I’m glad I’m not alone tho! Also, yes, I take the pills before bed as recommended. I’m 2/2 with sleeping through the night, and prior to it, I’d been struggling with waking up a few hours early and not being able to fall back asleep, so I guess that’s a win!
@begging4abump thanks for the info! My RE didn't specify what time of day to take it and the instructions say day or night and with or without food but to take it the same time every day. I guess I'm so nervous that what if I do take it before bed but bed time is slightly different each night, like by an hour or so? Does that matter? I'm so stressing over taking a tiny ass little pill!

@kpearse99@begging4abump thanks so much, I really appreciate it!! I’ve been on Letrozole 5mg (2.5mg didn’t make me ovulate) and I’ve taken it in the mornings most cycles, but in the evening for a couple...haven’t noticed a difference with side-effects depending on when I take it. Side effects have been minimal for me though, headache near the end of my dose and some hot-flashes while sleeping mostly. I’m pretty OCD and would try to take them at the exact same time every day, but I’m pretty sure it doesn’t matter that much! I’ve not been monitored yet (assuming that will start with the RE), so I have no clue how many or how large of follicles I produce with the 5mg dose.
@kpearse99 I have been strict with the timing of the Letrozole and not strict with it and I reacted the same all times... so I would say timing should loosely be the same time.
@inthewoods23 glad it went well! Hopefully you have a relaxing evening planned tonight.
@mokay19 yep it's called the couch and watching Queer Eye! 😃 DH already made an awesome homemade pizza for dinner. I'm so glad I can eat whatever after these surgeries.

@inthewoods23 I’m so glad everything went well! Relax and take it easy, for sure! ♥️ Hopefully you’ll be feeling better in the AM!
i have another letrozole question, although I think I know the answer since most of you had said you barely had any side effects but I took my first 2.5 pill at 9:15 tonight. At 1:30am I woke up with sharp waves of belly pain (in my whole belly not just my uterus) and then I threw up. I don’t know if it’s pill related or something not agreeing with me and it was a fluke I threw up. I didn’t eat much today, to be honest, and the stress of traveling and delays was pretty high, but I didn’t read anywhere that this was a symptom. Hopefully this was a one time deal and I won’t get sick again and I can get some sleep because now I’m wide awake!

@b_1029 the rest of the night went much better after I got whatever it was out of my system. A few more minor stomach cramps after but they went away. I feel much much better. I took my usual culturelle probiotic pill 2 hours after the letrozole I wonder if that could have mixed weird?? I think I’m gonna skip the probiotic tonight and see if it’s any different. Anyway, I’m much better! I hope it was just something disagreeing with me! Thanks 🤗

@kpearse99 I've never had a nauseous reaction from the Letrozole so I hope it was just a fluke for you. Also, I think it's a good idea to skip the probiotic after the Letrozole... or at least give more than 2 hours between them.
@kpearse99 I agree with @mokay19 to space out when you take the letrozole and probiotic. I know a little while ago I had stomach issues with all the L-Arginine I'm taking and I think helping space things out keeps me from having nausea.

Thanks everyone! I am certainly feeling much better!! I am really wondering if it was the mixing of the medication and the probiotic. I’m also really paranoid now that I threw up all the medication and that it won’t do what it’s supposed to do 😂 pretty sure I’m making that all up and that it’s in my bloodstream but I’m such a worry wart!

to try and control things like this is having me feel so uneasy because I can’t control it lol but I don’t know how the meds will effect my O cycle.

@jennifer_louise hope you enjoy your vacation!
@misshelen86 so glad your testing is moving along and you are about to get your RE referral!
@bobbyflies2020 happy early anniversary! Good luck with your RE appointment and the decision you have to make!

@bluetickgal ❤❤
@bluetickgal lots of ❤️❤️❤️ today.
@emeraldduchess I'm in MN on vacay! We're hanging out with friends and family. So far it's been great (:

Hugs!
Diagnosis (if you've been): endometriosis, adenomyosis
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): wto
The management fee was "resolved" in the way that I agreed to pay it and get a "free" mid-cycle monitoring ultrasound and bloodwork. That way I'll more comfortably do the trigger shot with this cycle to really give it our all for this last try. I'm not necessarily happy about it, but I would be even less happy if I had to not do a cycle so I begrudgingly agreed.

12/20- FET #1- transferred one 4AB- BFN
3/21- FET #2- transferred one 3AB- BFP! Due Dec 2021
12/21- Baby girl born!
i have another letrozole question, although I think I know the answer since most of you had said you barely had any side effects but I took my first 2.5 pill at 9:15 tonight.
