Let's do a GTKY series!! We've all been here for several months and most of us are well into 2nd tri. Let's all get to know each other a little better. Everyone loves showing off their wedding, so let's start by showcasing your wedding dress!
I adored my dress! Funny story, my DH actually picked it out. My siblings, mom, and he all went out dress shopping and I let each one choose one dress for me to try on. I ended up hating my selections (trumpet style) and loving this A-line. I didn't tell him that I chose his dress, so it was still a surprise.
This is the only wedding picture I have on my phone because it's my favorite. I didn't actually take any pictures of just the dress itself. I think I'll have to do that to add to my collection. I picked this one because it was super lightweight for a beach wedding. I would later regret choosing the one with the beaded top instead of the same one with the Lacey top. I thought the beads looked more "wedding" but on that hot beach the beads around the arm holes really started to chafe. But you can't tell in the pictures, so it's all good in the end!
No fun story behind mine. It’s actually not something i would have picked initially. I asked for no beading but after an hour of trying on horrible dresses, gave it a shot. We got married on the patio of a “castle” so it fit in well.
I wanted heavy heavy lace, something very timeless/ classic and clean from the front and and something very different at the back. My veil was also very very long hahah
I went for a full on ballgown, but kept it very plain as i didnt want anything too fussy. I only went to one shop & it was one of the first dresses I tried on. Its cliché but I knew the minute I put it on, that it was my dress.
Here’s my dress, which I absolutely loved. We got married in the fall up in Maine, so it got very chilly into the evening. I had a purple shawl I wore when it cooled down and we all stayed warm with bourbon apple cider!
So so originally I wanted a mermaid but none of them looked good on me. Thankfully the shop I went to pushed all sorts of styles on me just to show me variety. I fell in love with sheath dresses so I started pinning ones I liked until I saw what would become mine on Maggie Sattero’s website (my favorite designer). Once I tried it on I knew it was the one!
I absolutely fell in love with this Blush WToo dress when I saw it in pictures, and then couldn't get it out of my head after I tried it on. My favorite part is I wore total granny panties on under it and was QUITE satisfied
Since we're debating an elopement and get together WAY in the future, I'll just say what I have in mind for the elopement... I want a flowy empire waist dress in probably coral pink (white seems tacky given my living in sin status, lol). Something casual enough to wear again, but suitable for a ceremony with me, SO, an officiant, and two total strangers.
I went dress shopping with my mom, maid of honor, mother in law and my husbands aunt and we all loved this. However it was kinda a lot of pressure having so many people with me, and felt I had to get something everyone liked. My fave thing about it was the keyhole back that I can’t seem to find a pic of!

@kbrown2385 - Isn't it strange how you end up with something you would have never tried to begin with? I love your lace up and the train!

@peppyj9 love the beading!
@marebear15 the back of your dress is gorgeous. I really like the strap/sleeve area
@c1kc1kpol1cn1k the back of your dress is fantastic! So different.
@leprechaunlady I love the bodice with all the pleating! Sometimes simple is just perfect. I think it’s beautiful.
@EmilyE13 I love the back of your dress with the see through lace. I bet the purple shawl looked great with the dress. Your bouquet is beautiful too.

@EmilyE13 - I love your hair and how it's swept to the side so you can see the details of the back of the dress!
@stashattack - So vintage looking!
@amb0924 - Your dress reminds me of a princess dress!
