This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ball game. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this as an ongoing conversation.
Diagnosis (if you've been):
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA):
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?):
How are things going?:
Any questions?:
GTKY: What is your favorite part/aspect/finishing touch/feature/quality/amenity about/in your home? It could be the ultimate reason you bought your home or something that came about after living there for years.
Sorry I was MIA last week, I tried to get on here but with moving it was tough.
Diagnosis (if you've been): PCOS, Unexplained RPL
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WFIVF
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Finally have some traction for IVF! Found out late last week that my nurse will have my protocol/calendar done early this week. They started me back on BC as of yesterday. Saline Sono is on Wednesday! My meds should be ordered today and Stims could start in about 2 weeks.
How are things going?: Better now. I'm excited to feel like IVF is really happening. And quicker than I thought. At this rate I could be doing an ER by the end of the month.
Any questions?: Not right now, but probably once IVF starts.
GTKY: What is your favorite part/aspect/finishing touch/feature/quality/amenity about/in your home? It could be the ultimate reason you bought your home or something that came about after living there for years.
Well I just moved in last weekend, so far I love everything about the house! It gives so much more space than the apartment we were in. I love having a yard, and being in a neighborhood. I'm sure there will be something more specific as I live here longer.
@hanshotfirst77 IVF is getting so close for you!! Yay! Hope your saline sono goes well
Diagnosis (if you've been): unexplained or MFI
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WFFET
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): got my hysteroscopy and polypectomy tomorrow, then starting lupron on the 8th!
How are things going?: I was very productive at home this weekend so I'm feeling great!
Any questions?: Mmm not right now.
GTKY: What is your favorite part/aspect/finishing touch/feature/quality/amenity about/in your home? It could be the ultimate reason you bought your home or something that came about after living there for years. We love how big our yard is. Our lot is nearly an acre and there's lots of trees. Any little updating we've done to the house has made it all the more amazing. The quirkiest part about our house is the powder room in our basement. The previous owner painted the walls a florescent green and a burnt yellow color with some desert decorations. We call it the Fiesta Bath. We found out from the realtor selling the home that the guy decided to paint the bathroom like that right before putting the house on the market 😆 and now it's a great conversation piece for us.

@hanshotfirst77 I'm so happy that things are picking up for you! It sounds like we're going to be in the thick of it around the same time, too!
Diagnosis (if you've been): DOR
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WFIVF
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Done with BC tomorrow and start stims on Sunday. We're right on track for a 3 day transfer the last week of Aug.
How are things going?: Good! I'm nervous to start stims, only because of the side effects. But otherwise, I'm excited to get going.
Any questions?: Nope, not right now.
GTKY: What is your favorite part/aspect/finishing touch/feature/quality/amenity about/in your home? It could be the ultimate reason you bought your home or something that came about after living there for years.
I love how big and open out kitchen is. It's currently a 90's remodel, but once we do our own remodel, its going to be amazing and we have so much space to work with.
@inthewoods23 Thank you! I hope your hysteroscopy and polypectomy go well tomorrow. And you are so close to your FET, so exciting!
@ruby696 Thanks! Yay for IVF buddies! I'll admit I am a little scared about the stims too. I had to watch a bunch of videos on mixing the meds and stuff and it was a little overwhelming compared to just doing oral meds or the Gonal F and Trigger. But we got this!
Diagnosis (if you've been): Unexplained IF, RPL, possible LP defect
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): TI with progesterone post-O. DH's karyotyping came back normal and we're still waiting on mine.
How are things going?: Pretty good at the moment. I had a really nice time with family yesterday. TW: PG mentioned.
My cousin's baby shower was yesterday and as things were winding down she and I were able to sit together and we had a heart to heart about IF. It was a long and difficult journey for her and she was really open and positive with me.
I've had a few days where the side effects of the progesterone hit me hard but over all, I feel good, except...
I *might* have cried trying to zip up my pants on Saturday. The irritation that I have below the belt seems to be going away, thank goodness.
Any questions? Not at the moment.
GTKY: What is your favorite part/aspect/finishing touch/feature/quality/amenity about/in your home? It could be the ultimate reason you bought your home or something that came about after living there for years. This is a tough one because TBH I am not crazy about our house. If I could go back in time, I don't think we would have bought it. I do love having woods right behind the house, though. We get lots of deer in our yard which is cool.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): letrozole + trigger + TI
How are things going?: more or less fine. I’m testing out the trigger which is kind of fun ha. Looking forward to a quick trip out of town for a wedding this weekend!
Any questions?: not right now
GTKY: I love our house because it’s about 100 years old but was flipped at some point, so it’s more modern at the same time. Whoever did it did a great job at preserving some of the cool old features (clawfoot tub, transoms over some doors, etc). I also love our outdoor spaces (front porch and deck) and yard! I’m glad this was a GTKY because sometimes it’s hard to remember I love our house when everything keeps breaking
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): waiting for a Provera prescription
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): letrozole, trigger, TI, progesterone... once we get to the cycle
How are things going?: they're going. I'm glad we have a plan for this upcoming cycle and then for IVF moving forward. Also, we're starting to pack more things at the apartment so that's always a distraction!
Any questions?: not now
GTKY: What is your favorite part/aspect/finishing touch/feature/quality/amenity about/in your home? It could be the ultimate reason you bought your home or something that came about after living there for years.
Well, we're currently building a custom house that will be finished in October so I'll love everything! We bought 4 acres and are literally getting everything that we wanted in a house!
@hanshotfirst77 how exciting that you’ll be getting your
protocol and meds this week! And an end
of the month retrieval… wow!
@inthewoods23 good luck with the surgery tomorrow! Hopefully they get it all cleaned out and
make your uterus most receptive for your September transfer! Also, the Fiesta Bath sounds fabulous haha
@ruby696 you and hanshotfirst77 are going to be shot buddies! I’m so excited for you and I hope that the
meds work well and allow a great day 3 transfer! Also, I love an open kitchen
@emeraldduchess I’m glad you had a good weekend even with
the shower going on. And omg,
progesterone always makes me feel like Violet from Willy Wonka and that I
should be rolling around
@b_1029 how long ago was your trigger? Also, I love that your house is so old and
has some of the old style but mixed with new.
When we had cable, I used to enjoy watching Rehab Addict and watch her
keep the old flair while making it new.
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW..... still. Ugh, another long cycle
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Just waiting for AF to arrive so we can (hopefully) start the IUI process although at this point it looks like we won't be able to start until the next cycle now.
How are things going?: I'm frustrated with my body (again). I really really wanted to start with the IUI this month but since AF hasn't arrived yet my gut is telling me we won't be able to start until the next cycle. I leave for New Orleans tomorrow until late Friday night so if AF arrives tomorrow or in the middle of the week I won't be home to do my CD3 testing before starting the letrozole. I'm on CD38 now, probably around 20 DPO but I don't really know for sure, and I had a small amount of spotting yesterday. I had some spotting the day before AF last cycle (which was also long) so maybe she will arrive today and I can do testing tomorrow morning before I leave. Everything just feels so rushed now, that I'm almost thinking it would be best to put the IUI one more cycle anyway.
Any questions?:
GTKY: What is your favorite part/aspect/finishing touch/feature/quality/amenity about/in your home? It could be the ultimate reason you bought your home or something that came about after living there for years. Oh wow - what a question! We live next door to a beautiful historical building that used to belong to William Penn! We have a large backyard that has a pretty view of the building and the grounds.

@mokay19 I'm not temping, and I had a decent amount of travel last month so I couldn't even really use OPKs as much as I wanted to. When I move forward with the IUI's I will be getting O confirmed by my doctor though.

@emeraldduchess Fx the progesterone does the trick even if the side effects can be less than desirable. And I'm so glad you had a nice heart to heart with your cousin!
@b_1029 That's so cool your house still has some of that older flair. Fx for you this cycle!
@mokay19 So exciting about starting to pack and get ready for your new house! It sounds awesome! Fx for this next cycle and IVF!
@kpearse99 Long cycles can be so frustrating. My cycles are so long and unpredictable I typically need Provera to start it. Fx she comes in time for you to do the testing tomorrow!
@hanshotfirst77 missed you last week but congrats on the move!! Your new house sounds lovely. Are you getting close to being unpacked?
@inthewoods23 good luck tomorrow! Let us know how it goes. Your FET is coming up so fast!
@ruby696 yay, getting so close for you too!! I hope the stims are NBD, and that the month goes by super fast for you.
@emeraldduchess lol at your mean girls gif. I'm so sorry about the progesterone side effects, but hope it's for a good cause!
@b_1029 so excited about your letrozole/trigger cycle! Here's hoping that double line reappears in a bit!
@mokay19 Omg so jealous you get your dream home! The housing market is a little redic here and so we were never able to check all the boxes.... But we are thankful just to have one! Excited for your move in October.
@kpearse99 sorry for your confusing cycle again . Hopefully it all works out, timing wise. Although secretly, I'm hoping AF never comes for you!
Diagnosis: unexplained
Status: I think TWW but could also be O day today.
What are you doing this cycle? Last round of Clomid and then first consult with the RE at the end of the month.
How are things going? Much better than last week, probably because I am on vacay! I had a very very hard TTC time last week but I think this week will be better. I just somehow have to avoid all triggering topics related to babies and reproduction 😂.
Any questions? Can't think of anything at the moment!
GTKY: when I first saw our house, I was really not crazy about it. Thankfully, the things I hated about it were pretty cosmetic. As soon as we ripped out the carpet, put on a coat of paint, and refinished the (original and beautiful) hardwood floors, I fell in love. It's nothing special, but it's got all we need!
@hanshotfirst77 So exciting that things are starting to move forward! GL with your saline sono!
@inthewoods23 GL with the surgery tomorrow! I’ll be thinking of you. I remember you posting a pic of the fiesta bath, it’s amazing!
@ruby696 Wow you are about to start Stims! Keeping everything crossed for you! Hope you don’t have a lot of side effects. Are you planning on doing the remodel soon?
@emeraldduchess Glad to hear your H’s karyotyping came back normal. I hope you get your results soon. That’s great that you were able to have such an open convo with your cousin.
@b_1029 Hoping the letrozole does the trick for you! Your house sounds amazing. I love older houses that have some modern touches, but still some of the character of being an older home.
@mokay19 Glad you have a plan in place. Oohhh a custom house. That will be so exciting once it’s done. Not too much longer now!
@kpearse99 Sorry you’re stuck in limbo right now. I hope you are able to get the testing in. Have so much fun in New Orleans though! Hopefully this is just what you need to get your mind off everything.
Diagnosis: Still testing, but some MFI
Status: WTO
What are you doing this cycle?: I get the results back for CD3 testing on Thursday; DH’s ultrasound results will be next week; I have my ultrasound booked for the end of the month, and the referral for RE should finally be put in this week
How are things going? Okay right now. Just trying to enjoy the summer while I wait for everything to happen.
Any questions? Not yet, but I’m sure I will have questions if I get any abnormal results back
GTKY: I love having a bigger kitchen than we had in our last house. It’s nice to have room to cook and bake now that we have more counter space to work with. I also love having a deck to sit on!
Me: 35 DH: 35 TTC since 9/2018
Dx: MFI 10/19- First RE visit 2/20- DH had surgery for bilateral varicoceles 7/20- IUI with 5 mg letrozole- BFN 9/20- IVF. 9 eggs retrieved, 9 mature, 8 fertilized with ICSI, 7 blasts, 4 PGT-A normal 11/20- Mock transfer/ERA 12/20- FET #1- transferred one 4AB- BFN 3/21- FET #2- transferred one 3AB- BFP! Due Dec 2021 12/21- Baby girl born!
@jennifer_louise Thank you! And it's getting there. It's amazing how much stuff there is. I took off work 2 days before the move and 2 days after and i really felt like I needed more time. But I've been trying to save it for IVF stuff. So the house has boxes everywhere. I'm hoping I will do a better job of unpacking than I have previously living in apartments. I think my last move I still had stuff in boxes from the last one at the time of this move lol.
I hope this week is better for you and you have a great vacation!
I'll be back for other tags, but we have a big all employee meeting soon.
My surgery tomorrow starts at 12:30 so expect an update from me late in the day tomorrow. And maybe a few replies in the morning since we don't need to be there until 10:30. DH was so cute earlier today planning things. He actually has some really big meetings tomorrow but he said he can take the day off for me and send other people to the meetings in his place because I take priority 😭 I told him before he can just drop me off and then I call when I'm ready to be picked up since he's got these big meetings, but he wants to be there to wait for me!

@ruby696 That is so exciting we're doing this so close together! I wavered on Fresh vs Frozen but I ended up deciding to go with a FET and PGS testing. My RPL is unexplained and my RE felt my best chance was with PGS testing. Also from my research I am concerned I am at high risk for OHSS so I think as much as I'd love a fresh transfer I think it's best for me that I give my uterus a chance to recoop after stims. I was hoping to do a FET sometime in October, but maybe since things are moving so fast Sept might be possible!
@jennifer_louise have a wonderful vacation! I hope it's just what you need to take your mind off of all things TTC!
@misshelen86 I love big kitchens!! Aren't they the best?!
@hanshotfirst77 that schedule is all going to happen so quickly!! So exciting!!

@hanshotfirst77 yay on getting the calendar! I'm so glad that you and @ruby696 have each other to coach through the shots while we all "watch" with excitement!
@inthewoods23 that's so cute that your DH wants to be there for you! Mine was the same way... plus, he brought his Switch and literally just played videogames all day and didn't "work from home" like he said that he was going to haha
@emeraldduchess I'm in MN with friends and family! It's been great so far--the second half of the week we're going camping so I have to enjoy sleeping in a bed while I still can!
@hanshotfirst77 Omg moving and unpacking is the worst. We moved two years ago and likewise still have unpacked boxes. I guess that means whatever's in there can't be too important, right? 😬
@inthewoods23 your DH is so sweet! I think this experience is very eye-opening for the men in our lives because our treatment is much more invasive (in most cases). I'm pretty sure my DH is at the point where if it were an option for HIM to carry the baby, he would.
Diagnosis (if you've been): Septum ute and low sperm morphology
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): Benched until I get surgery
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Appointment with RE to schedule surgery and discuss IUI vs IVF. I think RE will want to do IVF.
How are things going?: Good! We are okay being benched, especially with our 5 year anniversary and wedding at the end of this month.
Any questions?: Who here has paid for PGS out of pocket? Would anyone feel comfortable sharing what you paid? Just curious.
Also, what questions should I ask during a IVF/IUI consult?
GTKY: What is your favorite part/aspect/finishing touch/feature/quality/amenity about/in your home? It could be the ultimate reason you bought your home or something that came about after living there for years.
Honestly, the best thing about our place is our close proximity to playground, stores, coffee and a beautiful paved walking trail that goes into Boston.

@bobbyflies2020 for your situation, I would be curious what they think the success chances are with IUI after surgery... like how bad the morph is. And for IVF, a lot of my questions were on cost since we're OOP, timing (like if they only cycled at certain times), what precautions would be taken to avoid OHSS (I have a lot of follicles with PCOS), fresh vs frozen, tested vs untested embryos, transferring 1 vs 2, and that's all I can think of right now. I haven't done PGS, but my clinic is $3,200 plus $200 per embryo tested. I have a friend that it was $3,600 for up to 5 embryos.
@bobbyflies2020 benched?! Oh no! I don't know if I knew that (or maybe I did and I forgot, in which case I am sorry!) I'm glad though that the timing of it works out for you, at least.
AFM - AF finally arrived! Just waiting for a call back from my RE to see if they would see me tomorrow morning for my baseline testing, or if we will be starting IUI next month instead.

@jennifer_louise Enjoy your vacay! Are you doing anything fun or going anywhere? Hope you are able to keep your mind off all this for a while. Your RE appointment will be here before you know it!
@bobbyflies2020 When is your appointment? I’m not sure what questions to ask, although I agree with @mokay19 that I would want to know what they think the chances of a successful IUI are with your H’s morph. I hope you are able to come up with a plan that works for you!
Me: 35 DH: 35 TTC since 9/2018
Dx: MFI 10/19- First RE visit 2/20- DH had surgery for bilateral varicoceles 7/20- IUI with 5 mg letrozole- BFN 9/20- IVF. 9 eggs retrieved, 9 mature, 8 fertilized with ICSI, 7 blasts, 4 PGT-A normal 11/20- Mock transfer/ERA 12/20- FET #1- transferred one 4AB- BFN 3/21- FET #2- transferred one 3AB- BFP! Due Dec 2021 12/21- Baby girl born!
I think our PGT-A testing was like $2800 OOP for up to 8 embryos, and there's a $300 charge just for shipping the embryos to them or something. I can't remember what, I'd have to check the email. Additional embyros, if you have more than 8, are an additional $250 to test. Our clinic used CooperGenomics (not that you're allowed to shop around for that, I think you have to use what the clinic uses).

@kpearse99 YAY for AF arriving!! FX they get you in tomorrow! Woot, woot. Also, benched until I get surgery, to not risk any chance of preterm/breech birth due to the septum. Even though my RE implied that it would never happen RN with my husbands sperm morphology. 🤷

Mondays are too overwhelming! Just sending out a couple quick time sensitive messages...
@inthewoods23 GL tomorrow! I’m glad your husband is showing you all the mushy lovey feelings and showing you that you come first ❤️. For my lap, apparently as soon as I came to, I was asking for my husband, and when someone went to update him when I was out of surgery, he immediately asked when he could see me. And then we were reunited and he put my wedding ring back on. (I had to remove all jewelry prior to surgery.) And then the nurse told me to go try to pee. 😆 At least there are some good moments on this super hard road!
@emeraldduchess I don’t know how you are able to hold out on testing! I’m crossing fingers and toes for you!!
So the timing worked out that I was able to be seen today for my baseline testing and I got my scripts for the letrozole and trigger BUT I have to travel for work again the 19-21 which is CD 15-17 SO I’m worried I’ll Ben ovulating while I’m away. My gut is telling me we need to wait until next cycle to start the IUI process but I’m waiting to hear back from the doctor. Ugh

@kpearse99 do you normally ovulate in that timeframe? You should at least be able to get a mid-cycle monitoring appointment in before then and hopefully an IUI done before you leave! Orrrrrr, when I take Letrozole, I don’t ovulate until CD20 so maybe yours will hold off until you get back?! Good luck!

Well I just moved in last weekend, so far I love everything about the house! It gives so much more space than the apartment we were in. I love having a yard, and being in a neighborhood. I'm sure there will be something more specific as I live here longer.

Eta: spelling
@ruby696 Thanks! Yay for IVF buddies! I'll admit I am a little scared about the stims too. I had to watch a bunch of videos on mixing the meds and stuff and it was a little overwhelming compared to just doing oral meds or the Gonal F and Trigger. But we got this!

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): TI with progesterone post-O. DH's karyotyping came back normal and we're still waiting on mine.
How are things going?: Pretty good at the moment. I had a really nice time with family yesterday. TW: PG mentioned.
@inthewoods23 I hope your procedure goes well tomorrow! My favorite place about your house is your amazing deck + furniture
@ruby696 I’m glad everything is on track for this month! Hopefully the side effects from the stims aren’t too too bad.
@emeraldduchess that’s great you were able to have such an honest conversation with your cousin. It’s so nice to know we aren’t alone!
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle?
@hanshotfirst77 how exciting that you’ll be getting your protocol and meds this week! And an end of the month retrieval… wow!
@inthewoods23 good luck with the surgery tomorrow! Hopefully they get it all cleaned out and make your uterus most receptive for your September transfer! Also, the Fiesta Bath sounds fabulous haha
@ruby696 you and hanshotfirst77 are going to be shot buddies! I’m so excited for you and I hope that the meds work well and allow a great day 3 transfer! Also, I love an open kitchen
@emeraldduchess I’m glad you had a good weekend even with the shower going on. And omg, progesterone always makes me feel like Violet from Willy Wonka and that I should be rolling around
@b_1029 how long ago was your trigger? Also, I love that your house is so old and has some of the old style but mixed with new. When we had cable, I used to enjoy watching Rehab Addict and watch her keep the old flair while making it new.

@inthewoods23 good luck with your surgery tomorrow! I hope everything goes smoothly. We'll all be thinking of you!
@ruby696 eeek! Looks like it's full-steam ahead for you! FX that you react well to the stims with minimal side effects.
@b_1029 so you're having fun peeing on sticks to test out the trigger? Hehehe. Don't know why that made me giggle so much!
@mokay19 Hope your next cycle starts soon so you can start moving forward. That's awesome about your dream home becoming a reality!
@kpearse99 ugh, I am so sorry for the frustrating cycle. It sucks when AF takes her time and it messes with your plans for blood work.

10/19- First RE visit
2/20- DH had surgery for bilateral varicoceles
7/20- IUI with 5 mg letrozole- BFN

@jennifer_louise enjoy your vacation! Are you traveling somewhere or having a stay-cation? (If you already told us I'm sorry I forgot!)

@b_1029 Your house sounds beautiful. Have a great time at the wedding!
@mokay19 I'm so jealous that you're building a custom home - that's my dream. Maybe someday...
@kpearse99 Sorry for the long cycle. It's so frustrating when you just want to get moving and your body wont cooperate.
@jennifer_louise Have a great vacation! I'm glad you're having a better week. ❤
@misshelen86 FX for good test results!!

@inthewoods23 that's so cute that your DH wants to be there for you! Mine was the same way... plus, he brought his Switch and literally just played videogames all day and didn't "work from home" like he said that he was going to haha
@hanshotfirst77 Omg moving and unpacking is the worst. We moved two years ago and likewise still have unpacked boxes. I guess that means whatever's in there can't be too important, right? 😬
@inthewoods23 good luck with your procedures tomorrow. Crossing f+t that it goes smoothly. I love the fiesta room!
@ruby696 So excited for you. The wait after transfer is really short, right? I hope the side effects aren't too bad.
@emeraldduchess Sorry about the bloating/weight gain. Watching deer in the woods sounds so peaceful!
@b_1029 I hope the week goes quickly for you snd you have a blast at the wedding.
@kpearse99 Oh no, another lony cycle?? I am so sorry to hear 😭 I hope your trip goes smoothly.
@mokay19 Building is such a smart way to go, but also sounds challenging. I give you credit!
@jennifer_louise Sorry last cycle was tough. Sending you positive thoughts and hoping this one is easier! Enjoy yout vacation!
@misshelen86 Good luck with the testing!
