I figured I would get a Sept FET thread started since I'm on my last cycle of BC before meds start.

Coming up I have surgery to clean my lining on the 6th (abnormal saline sono last week), then I start Lupron on 8/8. I'll officially be in the FET Cycle in about 3 weeks with stims meds starting in 4 (should be on 8/22).

This will bey first FET and I am very excited! We have 5 PGT-A normal embryos (3 girls, 2 boys).

Things are all squared away for my surgery on Tuesday. I put off scheduling my mock transfer but was able to squeeze in an appointment tomorrow afternoon so that I can have that done before I start Lupron on the 8th. Idk why I didn't just schedule it after my saline sono. 🤷

My ER recovery was a breeze so I'm hoping this goes similarly!

@inthewoods23 I'm sort of straddling the Aug/Sept FET since most of my protocol will actually be in Aug, feel free to do the same if you want. I'll jump in as I've now got my calendar and can say that my transfer will be sometime the second week of September, right now Sept 9. I'm on the BC now (which is making me an emotional mess with terrible hormone headaches) and have my mock transfer on the 12th of Aug. I will be on estrace + PIO shots but at least I've gone around this block before so am finding it not as scary.

I'm excited for you to do your first transfer. I'm glad that your ER and recovery went well. Will you guys know the sex going in to the transfer? Also I went to look at your spoiler to see your journey (you are transferring the day after me), I clicked the *wrong* spoiler. Brain bleach + OUCH.

@stella_700 😂😂 yeah we picked a great siggy challenge this month on the TTGP board. I'm always on mobile so I never look at it.

Yes we'll know the sex. We'd like a boy first. Half because DH really wants his last name carried on and half because everybody seems to be having girls lately. Out of the 5 babies that will be or have been born this year, 4 are girls. 3 of those are on my mom's side of the family so it's like okay let's even this out lol.

I seem to be one of the lucky ones that isn't too affected by all the crap they put us on. Even with the progesterone when I was doing IUIs never gave me pregnancy-like symptoms. Maybe some slight bloat but that was it.

Hi ladies. We’ve just had our appointment with our fertility specialist and we’re doing one tracking cycle on letrozole to check that I ovulate and then head into a transfer cycle.

Oh @stella_700 the BC is awful! How long are you on it for? So thankful that this cycle I won’t be stabbing my self with needles but that could be a possibility if the letrozole doesn’t do its job.

@inthewoods23 exciting for you! This is my first FET also. Hopefully your surgery and mock transfer go perfectly!

@teriulbricht This is week two, I come off it on the 14th of aug. So almost a full month of it, but I think that the headaches will stop as I adjust.

@inthewoods23 Over all I tolerated most of the cocktail of stuff pretty well, I think its just adjusting to that higher dose BC that's scrambling my brains a bit.

@teriulbricht my clinic mentioned to me that they can have me on BC for as short as 18 days and as long as 35 or so days. They would never have me on just a week of BC.

Mock transfer went fine this afternoon. My bladder was a bit too full though, but it should be ok come transfer day.

I did ask the RE about the grades of our embryos as the embryologist who called to provide the results of the sexes and how many were normal from our PGT testing gave me a crap answer when I asked about their grading. His response was something like "they are all good quality, we don't freeze any of poor quality".

In order from best to worst the sexes rank FFMFM.

F1 was graded 5(B+)(B+)

F2, M1, and F3 are some combination of 5(B+)(B) and 5(B)(B+). I think F2 is the 5(B+)(B), F3 is the other, and M1 is either one - Ingot so thrown off when she was saying B+ because I didn't know that was a thing so I don't remember the order of the B and B+ for the male.

M2 was graded 5BB.

We're opting to transfer our best male embryo first 🙂. We're both very happy that all are good quality and that there's not too much variety (like if one was really great quality and the rest were just ok).

Can't wait for September to be here!

teriulbricht I spoke too soon. I hate hormonal headaches, I've always gotten them that first cycle day but haven't dealt with them day after day after day. I'm going to pick up some excedrin (migraine) and see if they help.

@inthewoods23 I'm so glad that transfer went well and didn't discover any thing else to delay steps forward. I'm ready for this to get started also. Moving to the new month has felt like a huge step forward (that's all me mentally)

I remember before my first transfer that I'd taken the full bladder thing too literally, he sent me to partially empty. I thought I was going to burst. Then you rest after the transfer in the room for 30 minutes, me still needing to finish peeing. They dimmed the lights for us and turned on some music and left DH and I together, it was suppose to be a sweet, tender moment and all I could tell DH was to talk to me and take my mind off my bladder.

I'm glad that you asked your doctor about the grading. It always makes me feel better with extra knowledge. I have super high hopes for you this cycle, tested, strong embryos, good mock transfer. Let's kick off fall pregnant!

My doctor made me feel much better about transferring untested embryos, he said that all five of my original embryos were strong, healthy embryos and that he saw no need to be particularly fearful. He said let's move forward and get you pregnant. I can't tell if he's super, super smooth or one of the genuinely nicest doctors I've ever met.

@stella_700 I feel if I partially emptied I would feel the need to pee so much more than when my bladder was full. My transfer is at 11:30 and I always go when I wake up in the morning so that should be enough hours for me to full it up again by transfer time.

My meds arrived this morning 👍 can't wait to get the lupron started on the 8th!

I am also straddling the August/September line (depends on how long it takes for AF to show up)!

I just had my ER this past Thursday (8/2). Tomorrow morning I should find out my Day 3 stats but I started with 24 eggs retrieved, 20 were mature, and 12 fertilized normally. Edit: Got the call, all 12 are still going strong so we aren't going to freeze any at day 3 this time!

This will be my second FET (my first was March 2018). With my last ER we did a fresh transfer which failed then the FET was successful so we decided to go straight to a FET this time. We aren't doing testing (hubs and I are both 31) and my RE thought it was unnecessary so we aren't going to know the gender unfortunately!

@marfi236 that's great news that you still have 12! Hope your numbers stay up through day 5! That's usually the difficult part.

@inthewoods23 I’ve always found that there are lots of differences between how IVF is done in the US and over here in australia. We also don’t do mock transfers but I’m so glad yours went well! And it sounds like you’ve got some good embryos to transfer! That full bladder feeling is so uncomfortable! Good luck tomorrow! @stella_700 hormonal headaches are the worst! We haven’t tested any of ours either, hopefully he’s just a super nice (and extremely competent) doctor! @marfi236 awesome news. And welcome! It’s funny how you start waiting for AF to arrive when a while back you never wanted to see the sight of her! Fingers crossed she visits soon!

How's everybody doing?

My hysteroscopy went well. Dealing with some inflammation so I'm on antibiotics for the next 2 weeks. A few small polyps were removed and hopefully they found that everything else looked good. My pain and cramping is very minimal so I'm doing quite good!

@teriulbricht Ain’t that the truth! My June cycle was super short (AF came like 4 days earlier than I expected) so then when July’s took the normal time it felt like it took æons! I expect this cycle will be the normal length so I have like another week or so to wait!

I got my final embryo report today! We have 5 frozen! 2 are perfect, 2 are almost perfect, and 1 is fair. We’re planning on having 1 (maybe 2) more babies so we should be all good with this retrieval (barring any malfunction like last time)!

@inthewoods23 I'm glad that your procedure went well and that your pain is minimal. I hope that the antibiotics takes care of the inflammation. Make sure you don't overdo today, the second day is sometimes the stinker.

@marfi236 YES! I'm so pleased that you had such a great report after the horribleness you've been through.

@teriulbricht He's an excellent doctor, I don't doubt that. I had issues finding a doctor that would actually diagnose & treat me. Many fertility clinics in the states have rules about treating plus sized patients.

I'm still just trucking along, I'll have my mock transfer Monday and then Wednesday is my last BC pill. Should have a short bleed before I start the estrace up. I'm excited to move along.

My egg retrieval was only back in June but I already feel like I don't know what I'm doing again with the injections 😆 felt a little foreign doing the lupron injections again.

Last pill of BC today 🙂 AF predicted to be Saturday.

I'm still bleeding post-surgery. I'm a little worried I won't be able to tell the difference between post-surgery bleeding and a true AF. Right now I'm replacing pantiliners twice a day (so like around noon and then after I get home from work or right before bed). I'll be giving them a call next week Monday regardless of AF showing. CD1s over the weekend they say to call on Monday and my schedule actually says to call on the 19th if I don't get AF so it's all moot anyway.

And the Lupron might be giving me mood swings lately. Hard to tell, I'm normally a pretty emotional person to begin with 😆

Hi all,
Looks like I'l be having my FET potentially in the first week of Sept so jumping in here. Both DH and I are 31 and trying for our first. Had my ER on 08/01 and we froze 5 embryos, 4 of them are PGT normal and 1 is indeterminate. We requested repeat testing on that one, result pending. Planning to do a natural cycle with hysteroscopy and labs starting on 08/22. This will be my first FET cycle and am excited to have things finally moving along!

@inthewoods23 I hear you about mood swings on those things. During the IVF cycle I swear I was losing it emotionally. I'm glad that this cycle is a natural cycle and will have a break from all the hormones.

@nasah15 welcome, I'm glad that you are getting a bit of a break. I'd thought I had done relatively okay on the mood swings but my husband's face says maybe not.

Hi all! Looks like my FET will be September 12, so I'm popping in here! I'm about to finish up BC and start with Estrace on Monday, also have a supression ultrasound on Monday morning. I'm so ready to be done with BC..spotting, headaches, nausea like I don't remember from past times. Since my fresh transfer a few years ago, my specialist's office was bought out by a bigger medical group and I am noticing major changes. Disorganization, lack of communication...it's been extremely frustrating so far to say the least. Crossing my fingers that it gets better from here on out...!

@stella_700 I'll be taking the day off too. I think DH and I will go to cheesecake factory for lunch afterwards (that's what we did for our successful transfer last year)! Well as long as hubs is able to make it, otherwise I'll go by myself (my husband is supposed to be travelling for work next week). I might try to convince hubs to play WOW with me during the day but I'll probably end up studying (I'm working on getting another degree so I have classwork)

Welcome @LoweeeK! Hope things get smoother for you! For how important this process is, it's terrible to think a place could be unorganized!

My baseline BW showed my estradiol is a little high. They wanted less than 80 and I came back at 84, but that's just fine for them so I got the go ahead to start estradiol valerate injections tomorrow. September is going to be here before we know it 😬 coming fast!

DH still wants to be the one to do the IM injections but he's gone for part of the weekend before the transfer so I'm going to have to learn to do them myself. Hope I don't do too bad with those. Any tips on doing the IM injections yourself?

I plan on taking off the day before through the day after the transfer. I was thinking about getting a massage during the weekend or day before the transfer as an extra boost of relaxation. And DH believes there shouldn't be a problem with him taking off on transfer day which is awesome 🙂 I told him I need his humor for good laughs!

@inthewoods23 I am excited for you!! I have my FET tomorrow! As for the IM injections, I just started mine Sunday and was so worried after everyone talked so bad about them, but for me, they weren't bad at all.

My tip is to warm the vial before pulling it into the syringe. I tried doing it without warming and the stuff just would NOT come out....warming it thinned it out and helped it go into the syringe (it takes a few attempts of a little at a time and then pushing the air back in for me in order to get my full does in the syringe).

Then I just did it standing at the mirror in my bathroom leaning against the countertop on the other leg without putting pressure on my leg that I would be doing the injection in. I made sure the syringe was still warm and then I iced my butt for a minute and then just stuck the needle in. It honestly wasn't much different than going into my stomach area. The hard part was pushing the oil in...even warmed up, it took a lot of pressure to push it in.

@ladyp0tter it's funny that you mention warming it because the nurse that did my injection teaching was definitely like "don't even think about putting this in the fridge" 😆 my biggest worry is how to hold the needle for injection. I feel like it's going to be really clumsy the first few times!

@inthewoods23 I had to hold the needle with whichever hand was on the same side as the injection site and I had to hold it so that my thumb was depressing the syringe. Does that make sense? That way the 90 degree angle was easy to maintain.

I'm a little late to the party but one thing I would add is I would see if your doctor will give you a script for lidocane. That made a world of difference for me! Put it on 15 minutes before and then it numbs the spot nicely and the injection is pretty easy (painwise at least) from there.

I’m hopping over here from the August group since we just got our transfer date for sept 4th. My estrogen was lagging behind my lining a bit but we finally got there and my doctor is happy with what he is seeing. Im so happy to be done with the early morning US and bloodwork. Im super nervous this time around as this is our last embryo and we will most likely not be able to do another cycle. Fingers crossed!

@marfi236 bummer on the delay but hopefully this allows everything to calm down and your Sept transfer cycle goes perfectly.

@inthewoods23 This sounds disgusting but it really helped to warm the oil, leaving the cap on it I'd tuck it into my cleavage so that it was body temp going in. The other option was to warm our heating pad up in the microwave and wrap the bottle up that way. I'm late with this as you've been doing them for several days now. How are they going?

@Loweeek Ugh, I'm hoping that mess at your doctor's is just temporary while they get the bugs worked out. Advocate for yourself if you need to, and be firm with it.

@stella_700 injecting seems to be fine, although 0.2 was a little harder than 0.1. Our house is set on the warmer side. I've bled both times removing the needle but it's really hard by yourself! Is the estrogen why I was ready to nap at work yesterday?? Damn.

My appt this morning showed lining around 8mm and trilaminar. Estrogen is in the 400s so everything is looking good!

Hi everyone! I am prepping for my 3rd FET. Initially we thought we were only dealing with only MFI. We did a retrieval last year and had our first transfer (one embryo) October 2018 and got pregnant but miscarried at 9 weeks, which required a D&C. I had another transfer in March (two embryos) and got pregnant with one baby...that also ended in a miscarriage at 9 weeks, so had another D&C. Since this was my second miscarriage my doctor wanted to do further testing to see what was going on. It turns out I am a Balanced Robertsonian Translocation carrier and the miscarriages were due to trisomy 21 since my genes are affected. So we ended upPGD testing the 11 embryos we had frozen, 9 survived the thaw and we have 5 normal embryos. 4 boys and 1 girl. I started estrace yesterday and if all goes well I will be transferring on Sept 19!!! I am so excited and praying that third time is the charm! GOOD LUCK TO ALL YOU LADIES! May September bring us all luck!
