I've been a salad person lately. Strange for me, as I'm normally just kinda "eh" on salads, but I've even been swapping my fries for salads at restaurants. Only thing is trying to find a dressing I like. I love ranch for fries and dipping veggies in, but it always feels too heavy for salad for me.
Weirdest thing is chocolate has been gross to me. Normally I have the biggest sweet tooth and chocolate is basically a food group. But I split a reeses with hubby yesterday, and was completely disgusted by it.
I've been eating so many strawberries and homemade whipped cream. I had it on an English muffin this weekend and MH and sister looked at me like I was completely insane. It's not THAT weird is it?
I've also been eating allll the cheese...grilled cheese, quesadillas, pizza, mac & cheese....still can't stomach any meats
@perfectoops That sounds delicious! I may have to pick up some watermelon later today! @angieeeeee I normally have a huge sweet tooth too, but haven't been interested lately. @mc0303 Doesn't sound weird to me!
I'm happy this thread was started! My eating habits have changed a ton, but they definitely don't qualify as healthy choices or even meals, so I didn't feel like posting on the other threads about meal planning or being fit I've been surviving on fresh fruit, Cheez-its, popcorn, and cheese sticks. Anything warm, heavily flavored or containing meat has been a no-go for me!
@purplefan1 I feel you on the salt. I've eaten more chips in the last three weeks than I probably have in the last 6+ months. Easily. Oh and green olives...
Watermelon, cereal, eggs, chips...you know, a well balanced diet. 😂 I’ve been trying to get more salads and veggies in now that my nausea is gone but it’s hard for sure. I like light salad dressing that’s not sweet so I usually do Newman’s balsamic vinaigrette or just make my own with olive oil, red wine vinegar, and fresh lemon juice.
Raisinets. Like the only consistent thing daily is that haha
Although reading through everyone else's comments I now want a big salad with balsamic dressing. The dressing from Panera is so good. Either that or a ginger dressing, we did a date night at the hibachi place and whatever ginger dressing they had on the salad...that is what i want.
@angieeeeee I’m so turned off by chocolate too now, at least it’s keeping me away from sugar!
@perfectoops yes to allllll the watermelon. I can’t get enough!
@mc0303 whipped cream can go with anything, I’d eat it on an English muffin, but I think I’m going to have to make some for the strawberries I bought yesterday!
I’ve been into fruit, soup (but it’s getting warmer here so not sure how long that’ll last!), and salads. Other than that, pretty much toast and bagels. I can’t stomach meat, especially chicken, which is typically the only meat we eat. I am loving shrimp though, which is a weird one. I’m going out to dinner with two friends tonight and will most definitely be getting a Caesar salad with grilled shrimp 😋, and probably a side of fries!
I've had a few one time cravings, but the only consistent one I've had is iced mocha. I had that one with my last pregnancy as well, and it seems to hit when the heat of summer kicks in (which it totally has here in the south already!). I've been making my own at home every morning and its hitting the spot!
16 weeks and have no cravings, but lots of things turn me off. I am starving all the time but nothing ever sounds good. I swear I think I ate potato chips and 2 swedish fish for breakfast just to get my stomach to stop growling. I am still throwing up in the morning so that could be why. I'm was able to do salads for one week... and now the thought of it makes me want to BLAH. Bring on the ginger-ale!
@Kriztyn absolutely understand the feeling of being hungry and not wanting eat. Sometimes I feel so frustrated I have to eat again bc nothing sounds good!
when something does sound good it’s usually sourdough bread, milk, or frozen fish sticks.
Avocados. I've made guacamole twice and eaten avocado toast like five times.
Potato chips.
Today, a pimento cheese sandwich that was a-ma-zing.
Lots of fruit and cucumbers recently. My appetite has been pretty normal for the last several weeks. Not quite the pizza and Mac and cheese fest that was my first trimester.
My coworker was eating a ham sandwich last night at lunch and I swear I almost stole it out of his hands. He saw me eyeballing it and offered some, but I turned it down.
I love sandwiches. I want a ham and cheese so bad, but I dont want hot ham and cheese, and I've read cold ham is off limits sooo sad about this.
I’ve never been that into them, but now I just want them fresh, grilled, broiled...cannot get enough! My husband threw some on the grill for me last night and I thought I was going crazy it tasted so good to me.
I’ve been making a caprese salad 🥗 like every chance I get 😋
@mc0303 mmmm caprese was my dinner twice last week. Have you tried it with grilled corn in it? Game changer. Also, grilled tomatoes with feta or parm melted on top is delish!
I’ve been so hungry this past week, then no appetite this weekend, but I’ve been wanting breakfast for every meal. I ate scrambled eggs with cheese and toast for more than a couple meals in the last few days.
@mc0303@rogro118 I've been craving caprese salads like crazy too! Panera has a salad with tomatoes, strawberries, mozzarella, basil, and balsamic and I've eaten it at least 3 times recently.
@emeraldcity1214 - Me too. Except in cupcake form. I have so many left over cupcakes from the birthday bbq that I have been eating way too many to mention a day.
Although now I want a Panera salad from reading the above
Reading all of these makes me so glad - I'm not alone in what I thought was weird eating habits. I can't eat beef, lots of cheese or milk products as just the thought makes me a bit sick. I love watermelon but it always comes back up, and although I know I need to eat, nothing usually sounds good. And that which used to taste amazing is now just blah. Red seedless grapes, though. OMG. I got some from the store the other day and they are gone already! So good.
@Lark2013 try freezing the grapes and then eating them. So delicious. I actually plan to make a treat like that for my kids so they think they are getting this really special frozen treat. 😂
I also have trouble wanting to actually eat. Most things sound blah and I nearly gagged on dinner the other night. I had to just toss the entire thing. Steak always sound good these days which was the opposite last time. Even thinking about meat almost sent me to the bathroom to be sick.

@emeraldcity1214 you just made me want some cake so badly! 😋
I’m trying to limit my sweets this week in anticipation of my glucose screening on Friday. Not sure if it matters but I just really don’t wanna fail 😰
