What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): I think this was my last cycle w/ Femara/Letrozole from the OB, unless I can convince them to give me one more so I won’t have a wasted cycle before meeting with the RE In August!
How are things going?: Pretty good. I’m trying to be hopeful about this cycle, but still looking forward to the RE appt.
Any questions?: None right now.
GTKY: how many pairs of shoes/boots/sandals do you own and which is your favorite pair? Oh, I have way too many to count...it’s embarrassing really! My guess is 50 or so...I may have a shoe addiction! 🤷🏼♀️ My favorite (even though I don’t get to wear them a ton) is a pair of rose gold tennis shoes!
I’m going to do my best to catch up on tags...this thread has been busy!
@shoogapoff I’m so sorry for the negative results! Hopefully surgery isn’t needed and all of your other results come back ok.
@jennifer_louise sorry for AF and for the trigger at the wedding! Hope the conference is a nice distraction!
@b_1029 ugh, sorry for all the cousin drama this weekend!! That sounds incredibly frustrating! I’ve not been monitored or done a trigger with Letrozole, but I think I would still continue to temp to have more peace of mind about what’s going on with my cycle.
@kpearse99 glad all your testing came back normal, hopefully the genetic does as well! I’ve been happy with Letrozole, only side-effect is a headache about when I’m done with the 5-day dose...maybe a little night sweats, but I got that on Clomid too (was only on it 2 cycles at the lowest dose and didn’t O).
@hanshotfirst77 I’m sorry for the bitterness/frustration! It’s totally understandable though...IF/loss is so crappy!! Hopefully the next little bit flies by so that you can start your IVF cycle! Good luck with the move!!
@inthewoods23 ugh, so sorry you are still having to deal with the pharmacy/insurance mess! Hopefully they’ll end up covering the lupron, but I’m sure paying OOP may be worth it to just get the stress gone!
@mokay19 I hope you and your H can come up with a plan you both feel good about! Hopefully the finances will work out if you have to move to IVF, but fingers crossed whatever method you try before will be successful!
@emeraldduchess I’m sorry about your arms being bruised for all the blood draws, that’s terrible!! Definitely stinks you can’t wear long-sleeves to cover it, but hopefully it’ll go away soon!
@NYTino24 hopefully they can get all your records to the RE before your appt.! I’ll be about mid-cycle when we go to our first RE appt., I’m hoping they can do most of the initial testing needed then and won’t have to wait for the next cycle (except for HSG probably).
@misshelen86 I hope you can get your RE referral soon if this cycle doesn’t work out (hopefully it does though)! I agree with everyone else, I’d do the progesterone test this cycle. My OB has always had me go in on CD21 (like @inthewoods23), I’ve been at the lowest 3DPO and at most 6DPO at that time. If they are just testing to ensure that you ovulated and not testing to see if you have a progesterone problem, I think you should be fine going off BBT alone. If you feel pretty good about your O date, I’d go for it! Mine has always tested well above 5 (except it was just over 5 at 3DPO). Granted, as far as I know I don’t have progesterone issues, so it could be different if that’s the case.
@jennifer_louise Sending you positive thoughts for your tests next week. Sorry for CD 1. Sometimes they can get a follicle count. They will check you for a bicornuate or septum ute, heart shaped, which is not as cute as it sounds!
@shoogapoff I felt the same after my septum ute. Totally unexpected. FX you dont need surgery and if you do it is quick!
@b_1029 Sorry about the stressful weekend. FX you get to relax soon.
@kpearse99 Interesting update! How many months do you think youll wait to try IUI? I am hopeful for you! GL on your genetic testing results. Sending you good thoughts.
@inthewoods23 Ugh, sorry you might have to pay OOP, but I dont blame you for wanting to be done with it.
@misshelen86 Glad to hear your husband is getting checked out. Sorry about the wait to get in to your RE. Keep us posted on what the urologist says. MH also has MFI (low morphology).

@emeraldduchess GL this cycle with the TI and suppositories. Keep us posted on how it is going!
@mokay19 I also love Birkenstocks. My mom wore them year round and would change into them at work in the winter.
Diagnosis (if you've been): Septum ute and MFI (low morphology count) (WTO/TWW/TTA): Benched due to my MRI (Testing? Treatment?): Appointment next week to discuss IUI or IVF as our next step. I would prefer IUI, but I feel my RE will say go straight to IVF. How are things going?: Super busy. My IL's are staying with us for a week while I teach my music camp. Camp is going well and I am enjoying it. Being benched this month has been nice. Any questions?: Nope GTKY: how many pairs of shoes/boots/sandals do you own and which is your favorite pair: 2 sandals, 1 Nike sneakers, 1 pair flats, 1 pair nude sandal with stacked heels. My favorite right now are my slip on Steve Madden sandals.

@bluetickgal I've heard the side effects of clomid are more than Letrozole - did you find that to be true?
@bobbyflies2020 FRIEND!! I feel like it's been a while (which is my fault as I've been traveling so much for work it's been hard to keep up) Pretty sure DH and I have decided we want to just dive right into the IUI as soon as possible. I was hoping that would be able to be this next cycle (starting next week) but our consultation with the genetic testing specialist to review the results isn't until next Thursday and AF is supposed to arrive on Monday, so the timing isn't going to work out... unless dear ole AF is late again like she was last month So it's looking like we'll start with my September cycle, but it's all up in the air for AF. As for you - Would you and YH do the IVF if that's what was recommended? How long are you benched for? Also, music camp!?! That's awesome - what age(s) do you teach and is it instruments or singing or both? I'm glad you've been able to find the silver lining in being benched this month

@shoogapoff I can relate to feeling hit hard by the results due to thinking I was just being dramatic, even though I was at the year mark when I finally went in for testing. Being jerked out of denial is a whirlwind. I’m glad YH was able to go with you! Mh was convinced we just needed more time, but in testing, I also discovered a blocked tube, along with a bent tube. It’s possible for blocked tubes to be unblocked, and you only need one good tube anyway! I hope your appointment next week brings you comfort and hope!
@jennifer_louise sorry for the bummer weekend and CD1. Are you traveling anywhere that you can enjoy exploring? I hope that all the busyness helps distract you and that you get that shg crossed off your list ASAP. Hard eye roll at the staff that can’t handle putting that referral in at a reasonable time frame. Also, how’s clomid treating you? Any big side effects? Did your ob put you on it?
@b_1029 That’s quite an overwhelming weekend! I’m so sorry that your cousin said whatever she did. Did you let her know that she crossed a line? Is there a way to mend this? Rifts in relationships eat away at me, so I really feel for you! Also, my condolences about YH grandpa! I too am hoping that the new plan is just the trick to bring you your bfp. May I ask why you have a trigger? Is it so you can better determine timing? Whatever the reason, fx for you!!
@kpearse99 I’m glad you’re feeling hopeful and that all your testing results came back great! Having a plan can really bring some comfort too. I hadn’t realized that clomid was more prone to multiples than letrozole. Interesting.
@hanshotfirst77 Sorry about the crummy feelings. I think I’ve been in the wallowing end of the IF spectrum a little too much lately too. I probably need to rein it in a bit since I was probably looking (glaring) more at bellies instead of the tanks at the aquarium this weekend. I hope moving provides a good distraction! Any projects at the new house?
@misshelen86 I hope that referral goes through!! Good for you for proactively calling to follow up about it!
@inthewoods23 sorry about the circles for trying to get meds covered. Ugh, that crap will drive ppl insane! As for the hysteroscopy, I think I took a Motrin an hour before, and I was right back on my feet afterwards with maybe some spotting? Mine wasn’t too intense, just grabbing a sample or polyp or something—I didn’t even feel it happen, and kept asking to double check that he had a biopsy to send in for testing. That week was like testing olympics for me with a stp, hsg, and hysteroscopy all crammed into 4 days, so it’s all a bit of a blur.
@mokay19 Sorry for the tough decisions. Could your RE weigh in a little more to help you pick the best option? Just know that I’m sitting right next to you on that bench, and you’re not alone! Also, what is it with medical professionals that can’t get in needles??? The worst!
@emeraldduchess I hope the side effects are minimal! Fx for that speedy delivery! Has it arrived yet? Sorry about needing all that bloodwork. It’s not easy to keep hydrated in the heat as it is, and that’s a lot of vials! Mh recently tried to donate blood and after a 3 hour ordeal, he was just shy of the minimum that they accepted.
@NYTino24 glad to hear that you’re lp is lengthening! GL with your appointment! It sounds like you are all prepared for it.
@bluetickgal I hope your ob hooks you up! Actually, scratch that. I hope you don’t need to worry about next cycle at all!
@bobbyflies2020 It sounds like you are really busy, and I’m so happy to hear that the break has been good. Did you say before that you needed surgery for the septum uterus? Is it unnecessary if you move forward with iui or ivf? Hoping for the best for you! Also, +1 for wanting more details about music camp!
@begging4abump yea - my doctor told me that it's not by too much - but that clomid does have a greater chance of multiples. So, I mean, there's still a chance that the letrozole will cause twins which is why he's putting me on the lowest dose to avoid it as much as possible. I thought it was interesting too, but I did find the same information in a few articles I read.

@begging4abump yeah we ended up talking for a while on Monday, she knows she was wrong, but I told her I need a little time to get over it. They definitely eat away at me too and I want to resolve it ASAP. As far as the trigger... I think it’s just a timing thing. My understanding is I’ll come in for a monitoring appt and she’ll see how my follies are doing, and will tell me when to trigger + HIO based on that so the eggs release and we can hopefully catch them.
Eta sorry ladies, this thread has really gotten away from me this week. Going to try to catch up today.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): taking orilissa— I only have 2 weeks and 1 day left! Afterwards, I should get a withdrawal bleed and then schedule to meet up with re to determine if we’re adding in clomid. But I’m thinking I may ask his thoughts about letrozole.
How are things going?: Eh, not great. I know I need to get the ball rolling for a second opinion, but I’m still dragging my feet on it. It’s been busy with ILs deciding to visit last minute, preparing rooms for window replacements, and dealing with some mental health stuff. H and I are going to map out exactly which practice I’m calling and what exactly to say for a second opinion. I guess I’m just nervous that it’ll be super weird when I go back for my follow up with the original re after asking them to send out my info to another re. I know that feeling weird shouldn’t stop me from finding the best course of action, but please be patient with me in getting my act together! Overall, I’m just terrified that after a few more months of trying, that’ll be it, and it just won’t happen. I wasn’t expecting to not be able to get to that bfp, but I’m coming to realize that that may be where this path leads.
Any questions?: are second opinions super common? Do you talk with your insurance ahead of time to make sure it’s covered?
GTKY: how many pairs of shoes/boots/sandals do you own and which is your favorite pair? Not entirely sure. I have a bunch that I never wear, but keep “just in case.” My favorite are my rain boots at this point. Mh bought them for me, and they are perfect for their purpose.
@begging4abump I'm in Portland! Got a little time to explore this morning and hopefully this evening too. Last night I was too exhausted and sat in the hotel room watching star wars on TV... No regrets! As for the Clomid, I've definitely had some headaches and my boobs hurt like crazy a week or so before AF. And I've had two canker sores while on it, which sucks but could be a coincidence. All this could just be SS though... How's the Orlissa for you? Any side effects there?
@bobbyflies2020 I hope IUI does the trick for you! I'm so happy we had some IUI success around here, hopefully more stories to come!
@b_1029 I’m glad she at least knows that she was wrong, which I’m hoping means that she apologized and that the residual messiness dissipates soon. I like your phrasing of “catching eggs” for some reason, lol. I’m picturing little spermies swimming with butterfly nets. Ha, but in all seriousness, I do hope it does the trick! @kpearse99 I’m at the point where a 2 for 1 deal sounds fantastic, but I’m already high risk, so I guess it wouldn’t be ideal. Ehh, I hope these drs know their stuff! @jennifer_louise oooh, Portland! I’ve never been, but it’s on my list! And you do you! Sometimes getting a tv all to yourself without having to compromise or deal with interruptions is the perfect evening! Sorry about those side effects! I’ve got my share of them too—hot flashes have been crazy! I’ve also been cramping A LOT, but I don’t know that that’s a side effect. Maybe it’s because I’m on cd70-something? So ready to move on!
@begging4abump Thanks for the encouragement. I'm hoping it's not a bad blockage and that I can function with 1 tube. I know if it's a hydrosalpinx, the tube has to be removed bc your body is basically excreting spermicide and making your uterus inhospitable for a baby.
@bluetickgal Rose gold tennis shoes sound amazing! I love shoes.
@bobbyflies2020 FX that IUI is what you need and that you have the great results that others have had.
Edit bc tagging on mobile is hard and I messed up.
@begging4abump I'm on the high risk too, which is why my RE really didn't want to do clomid. He likes to tell me that I am made to carry one baby at a time, only.

@bobbyflies2020 Keep us updated with your appointment next week! Hopefully they’ll be okay with trying IUI before jumping into IVF.
@begging4abump So exciting that you’re almost off the bench! Sounds like a second opinion is something you’ve put a lot of thought into. You advocate for yourself and do what’s right for you! It’ll be weird but don’t let that stop you. I recently switched to a new counselor and I felt super awkward “breaking up” with the first one, but it was the best decision I could have made. I’m so glad I put myself first!

@bobbyflies2020 good luck with your appt. next week, hopefully IUI will work since that’s what you would prefer! Music camp sounds fun!!
@kpearse99 yeah, I’d say that’s pretty accurate...while I didn’t get the Clomid crazies I had read about, I got bad headaches, night sweats, and crazy dreams. My OB originally said there would be no side-effects with Letrozole, so I was a little thrown when I did have some...but they are all milder than with Clomid, and I’m on the second-step dose (5mg) of Letrozole. Although I do think they affect people differently, hopefully you luck out and have little to no side-effects! We are almost to the point of hoping for twins, but I don’t like the higher risk...and I know Letrozole barely raises the risk for multiples!
@begging4abump thanks!! I totally understand about feeling weird with your current RE for getting a second opinion, but I bet it’s pretty common (although I’m still waiting on my 1st opinion, so don’t know from experience), and hopefully they wouldn’t treat you any differently! Hopefully you will get some clarity soon, whether it is from your current RE or with a second opinion!
@misshelen86 thanks so much!! Keeping my fingers crossed you won’t need your RE referral either!

@ruby696 I'm so sorry for your loss! I hope you're able to move forward with whatever you're comfortable with.
@begging4abump I have my post-op appointment next week so I'm hoping that she'll go over a bit more in detail about if she thinks the surgery helped at all or if we can expect any difference.
AFM: We're currently building a house that should be complete in October, so when that's finished, we'll start having a mortgage and all the extra costs that go with a new house. That's also right around the time that I think it'd be good and fine to start IVF. Well, DH is very reserved about getting the loan for IVF at the same time or similar time as the house. Yesterday, he jokingly said "make a PowerPoint presentation to convince me".... you best believe that I made that PowerPoint! I presented to him last night haha. He laughed and appreciated it and he said that he just needs more time to digest the financials. To compromise, we think that we'll do a cycle or two medicated but un-monitored to save $1,500 per cycle and have that money for IVF. He said that I shouldn't plan for the October stims because that would involve needing to start the loan process in September, but maybe we can aim for November if our next cycle or two don't work. All-in-all, it was a positive discussion but I just want him to agree with me! Aren't they just supposed to nod and say "you're right" ?!?!
@mokay19 I love that you made a PP presentation! Damn right they should just nod and say "you're right." 🙂 I see why YH is nervous though. Lenders are so picky about what you have going on financially. FX you're successful on a medicated unmonitored cycle and it's not an issue.
@mokay19 happy wife, happy life - am I right?!?! hahaha I love that you made a PP presentation for him, I can imagine his face when you showed it to him

@kpearse99 I just did a super simple one in google sheets. Right now any lab results are sitting in a file folder, so I thought this was a much better way to stay organized. I know, such a nerd.

@kpearse99 You could always write the numbers down when they call you with the results and then transcribe it after. My Dr. will usually print lab results if I ask, but I’m not sure if the RE will do the same.

@misshelen86 my clinic has a nice portal that shows recent and past test results on a graph which is nice.
At some point I hope to put a spreadsheet together of all our costs since seeing the RE. I should do a total cost vs our cost because I'm pretty sure when I logged into my insurance account I think it said I've saved over 20k this year. Or maybe that was the total for all my claims this year? Idk but f*ck paying an arm and a leg for this stuff! It sucks.

@inthewoods23 Sounds like a great idea to put costs into a spreadsheet too. I’ll probably do that in the future. It sucks how expensive IF is.. it’s just so unfair. But that’s amazing you saved over 20k!

@misshelen86 you are truly a woman from my own heart! All my test results are in separate PDFs and I hate going back and forth so I'm totally stealing that idea.
You ladies are cracking me up with your spread sheets and PP presentations! I'm jealous that I'm not that organized! I do have a patient portal with all labs from both my primary care and RE, so there's that.
I just started the progesterone about 2 and half hours ago. You guys weren't kidding about the leakage. Yuck.
@emeraldduchess can you imagine how you'd feel if you had only a light pantiliner on? I did that the first night. Never again 😳

@misshelen86 oooh I love the idea of a spreadsheet! My clinic posts the results on a portal but it doesn’t track things very well. And I like @inthewoods23 idea to add the costs so I can really see what’s going out.
@emeraldduchess what progesterone are you on? I hate that it feels like you have your period. Basically I wear pads from 3 DPO through AF.... it feels like my entire life.
Re: IF Testing and Treatment w/o 7/22
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW

@mokay19 I also love Birkenstocks. My mom wore them year round and would change into them at work in the winter.
Diagnosis (if you've been): Septum ute and MFI (low morphology count)
(WTO/TWW/TTA): Benched due to my MRI
(Testing? Treatment?): Appointment next week to discuss IUI or IVF as our next step. I would prefer IUI, but I feel my RE will say go straight to IVF.
How are things going?: Super busy. My IL's are staying with us for a week while I teach my music camp. Camp is going well and I am enjoying it. Being benched this month has been nice.
Any questions?: Nope
GTKY: how many pairs of shoes/boots/sandals do you own and which is your favorite pair: 2 sandals, 1 Nike sneakers, 1 pair flats, 1 pair nude sandal with stacked heels. My favorite right now are my slip on Steve Madden sandals.

Eta sorry ladies, this thread has really gotten away from me this week. Going to try to catch up today.
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): benched
@bobbyflies2020 I hope IUI does the trick for you! I'm so happy we had some IUI success around here, hopefully more stories to come!
@bluetickgal Rose gold tennis shoes sound amazing! I love shoes.
@bobbyflies2020 FX that IUI is what you need and that you have the great results that others have had.
Edit bc tagging on mobile is hard and I messed up.

It sucks.

@emeraldduchess what progesterone are you on? I hate that it feels like you have your period. Basically I wear pads from 3 DPO through AF.... it feels like my entire life.
