We did IVF so we have embryo pictures from DD and this baby from the day we transferred them. We called DD “Amoeba” because that’s what embryos look like and we shortened it to “Amebes”. This one we call “Emby”’short for Embryo.
I mostly just say “the baby” but sometimes refer to it as “nugget.” Maybe once I know the sex, I’ll have a better nickname. I don’t think we ever had a nickname for DS.
I usually just say the baby or little bean. We do call our cat baby though so sometimes if I say something about the baby my husband goes "no, this is baby" while pointing to the cat and then point to my belly and say "that's little baby!" Whaaaaaat a dork.
We’re complete weirdos over here. I randomly called my DD “Jebediah” when she was in-utero. My mom was asking me if I was going to call this one Jebediah 2.0 when we both heard my husband shout from the next room, “nope. This one is Ezekiel.” So I guess we’re stuck with that.
@kiwi2628 Fergle the Fetus made me laugh out loud at the gym haha.
We've been calling ours Chia or ChiChi because it was the size of a chia seed when we found out. We found out so early - at 3.5 weeks - so he/she was pretty tiny!
@Swiftlet We also do the fruit thing for the nickname!
With DS, we had picked out his name at week 21ish and then called him “C” to each other since that is his first initial. I bet we’ll do the same thing... just have to wait a few months...
We really need to find a nickname because we want to find out the sex but keep it a surprise for everyone else. Right now it's "the kid" or "the parasite" when my nausea is really bad Some of the names you guys picked are hilarious.

We did IVF so we came up with the wonderful nickname of Petri, as in petri dish.
When we did our first IUI (**TW** unfortunately we had a MMC**end TW**) my younger sister came up with the name Squirt. When I was explaining what an IUI was I said they just kinda squirt it in so she decided if we got pregnant she would call the baby squirt.

@brookert615 yes that way there is still an element of surprise but it will make our life easier when the time comes to pick a name. I also prefer gender neutral baby items so that works perfect.

Embie. We did IVF and I started referring to the embryo as embie and the nickname stuck (for me). My husband just says the baby. We know it’s a girl but usually don’t refer to gender. 🤷🏼♀️
