  • Okay, I know this is from yesterday but IDC. My TP is for FRER. Had a giant tempt drop and spotting this morning, with a very faint but visible second line on a FRER. Clearly a repeat of @chichiphin's experience. WTH are we supposed to test with if FRER's are giving false positives now?!
  • @ruby696 I am SO sorry friend.

    this is also ALL over the infertility subreddit and TTCAL subreddit. They're worthless atm. I'm sticking to my pregmate cheapies for this entire cycle.

  • @chichiphin My wondfo's have been stark white and my RHR has been super low, so I wasn't at all surprised when I started spotting. I mean, I even had a stark white BLUE DYE TEST. It's effing ridiculous. On the bright side, at least I can order my IVF meds now. 😂
  • Ughhhhh so I guess I'll be ordering another brand of HPT now.  I'm so sorry @ruby696

  • @ruby696 That’s awful. I’m so sorry. I guess I’m looking for another brand too, then. After falling for the blue dye fakeout last cycle, I don’t want anything that’s known for giving false positives. Hugs to you.

  • @chichiphin do we know when the uselessness started? I have a box with 2 left from a cycle or two ago, wondering if I should throw them out. I'll stick with my Pregmates in the meantime.

  • @ruby696 now that you say that, that explains why I saw what I figured was an evap line on my last FRER that I used Monday. I realized I forgot to take it before the saline sono. They hadn't instructed me to take one (they had for my first one) but I figured better be safe than sorry and had dipped it in the toilet just so I could say I at least took one.

    First time I ever saw a smidge of something on a FRER that wasn't used to test the trigger shot lol

  • @mvt2003 I'm not sure. My bad batch was purchased in early June. Now, I only know if people with extreme squinter issues. If you have a full blown second line, I don't think it is an issue. My RE in June was like, please avoid anything that involves assessing a line. She recommended digitals but of course the crazy in me was like... BUT THEY AREN'T AS SENSITIVE!!!

  • @chichiphin Ha I feel the same way. I went back into my apps to figure out when I bought the FRERs, and I think it was late April (I realize this displays what incredible restraint I have - I've only used 1 since April). I might chance it and double-test with a Pregmate.

  • @chichiphin and @mvt2003 I wasn't getting a line on an older box I bought  (probably April?).  This one was from a brand new box from Amazon. Just delivered yesterday.
  • Ugh, @ruby696 I am so sorry.  What a mind game. The RE told me to stay away from the HPTs this cycle and come in for a blood test if I made it to 18dpo. We'll see if I listen. Now that I know the FRERs are being stupid, it might be easier to resist!

    WTF I’m sorry @ruby696. I don’t think I will ever trust a FRER again after @chichiphin but I still buy them because I don’t know what else is good. I’m going to check out pregmate.
  • I actually have really liked pregmate for OPKs and HCG. They are 25iu sensitivity though, so you wouldn't get a BFP super early.

    @ruby696 I'm sorry

    *TW pregnancy, MC as it applies to tests*
    FWIW   I think the Dollar Tree tests are the best out there. For both of my pregnancies (loss-BO, and LC) I got a positive on those tests before the FRER at between 8-10 dpo. I had my HCG tested with my second pregnancy the same day I got a positive on the Dollar Tree test and it was 16!
