Gym "daycares"-do you use them?

Do any of you use them when you work out? My gym has one but I haven't taken DS to it yet. I usually just go when DH gets home but I really want to go during the day so DH and I can spend more time together at night. :)

Re: Gym "daycares"-do you use them?

  • I get really nervous about these, since all the kids look snotty and I don't trust the caretakers at this age. So no, I don't. I don't even like bringing my oldest.

  • I have NOT used ours yet... ?I'm too scared! ?I don't understand how it works??? ?At a "regular" daycare, there are rules about being sick, etc. ?I can't imagine that they regulate anything at a drop off gym daycare. ?

I worked at a daycare and I think that they are great for babies, DS will most likely eventually be in daycare, I just think the one at the gym is different.?

  • I have used the daycare at my gym 4 times since he has been born (Cole is 4 months) and he seems to really like it(most of the time). I only go during the day b/c that is when the "moms" are working and not the high school kids. I did have one time that they had to come get me b/c he was not happy and they couldn't get him to calm down, but it was nice b/c I was right there and I just packed him up and we left! I started with the first two times only for 30 min and the last time I tried an hour but that is when he lost it!!! I mostly go when DH gets home but it is nice to have the option!
  • we are planning on it but our gym won't allow any children under 6mos of age. So for now we have to rotate gym schedules so one of us is home.

  • I started taking dd with me last month. I wanted to wait till she was more on a predictable schedule. I go to golds and the girls there are great. I like going in the morning because there are not as many children and I know she is being watched then.

  • I have not. I am too afraid. Are they even regulated? The whole idea just makes me nervous. I just exercise around others who can watch DD's schedules.

It dependson who is in there if they actually monitor colds and what not. DD has a clogged duct and I went to drop her off and it had gotten goopy and the car and they did not want me to leave her cause they though it was pink eye.

  • I just started taking Lily last week. ?The nursery at my gym is awesome. ?The people who work there are all adults and most have children of their own (some grown, some there with them). ?

Also, Lily really seems to be enjoying the experience.?
