    Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Finding Out

Baby is the size of a(n): strawberry

Upcoming appts: June 25. Also, I had the NIPT bloodwork done on Friday. Hoping everything is ok.

How are you feeling?: Feeling ok. I still get nauseous in the evening, but it’s improving.

Rants/Raves: Work has been stressful lately, and I’m trying not to let it get to me. Wine usually helps, but that’s not really an option right now. Rave is that I’m looking forward to finding out the sex of the baby in a few days and the end of first tri is in sight!

Questions: For those who have gotten the NIPT done, how long did it take for you to get results? Also, did you also get the NT scan?

GTKY: If you had to leave your current country, to what country would you choose to move (pretend language wouldn’t be an issue)? Belize!
  • EDD/W+D: 10w4d 2/7/20

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): Brussel Sprout

    Upcoming appts: 8/12

How are you feeling?: Still feeling pretty nauseous the last few days. Hoping this ends here as soon as possible.

    Rants/Raves:

    Questions:

GTKY: If you had to leave your current country, to what country would you choose to move (pretend language wouldn’t be an issue)? Honestly, I wouldn't. I love it here.
  • EDD/W+D: Feb 1/11w3d

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green:green

Baby is the size of a(n):lime

Upcoming appts:had my first appointment with my ob today and going for the nuchal testing next Monday

How are you feeling?: starting to feel a lot better. Still exhausted by midday, but much less nauseous.

Rants/Raves: we got to hear a heartbeat! It was short lived because I laughed, my ob lost it, and then the baby hid. But it was strong and definitely there.

    Questions:

GTKY: If you had to leave your current country, to what country would you choose to move (pretend language wouldn’t be an issue)? Ireland.
  • @kmj1426 You are not alone. I have been in maternity pants for 2 weeks now. Technically I can still do up my other pants, but they were pressing into my bladder and making me have to pee even worse than usual. I had regular pants on again yesterday and have officially decided those days are past.
  • EDD/W+D: Feb 1st 11+3

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green: finding out

Baby is the size of a(n):Lego man this week

Upcoming appts: First appointment tomorrow 7/17

How are you feeling?: Four weeks of morning sickness and im over it.

Rants/Raves: I dread getting up for work. I know I'm going to be sick. This week we are on 10 hr days, so I have to get up at 3:15am to be at work by 4:30am. Ms doesnt really subside until 11am.

Questions: Has anyone taken, or know of you can take, fmla to leave work for ms. Not like take a week off, but to leave if you're throwing up 3-4 times over the majority of the work day. Ive been reading up on fmla, and it mentions morning sickness.

GTKY: If you had to leave your current country, to what country would you choose to move (pretend language wouldn’t be an issue)? Ireland. My husbands grandmother was from Ireland. And he has a lot of reds in his family.
  • EDD/W+D: Feb 2 / 11+3

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green: finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): fig

Upcoming appts: 7/26 for nuchal translucency screen

How are you feeling?: Feeling ok, sickness still comes and goes but definitely better!

Rants/Raves: Holy crap, I’m starting to show! I definitely thought I’d have more time since this is my first, but it looks like I’ll be telling people at work earlier than I’d planned since (at least to me) I think it’s starting to be more obvious. I definitely assumed I wouldn’t show til after the second trimester started.

Questions: if you have a good nuchal translucency screening and NIPT, do you still get a cvs/amnio? I’m over 35. I know this is a doctor question and trust me I will ask, but curious what those of you here may know.

GTKY: If you had to leave your current country, to what country would you choose to move (pretend language wouldn’t be an issue)? Hmmm, so many good options and I haven’t traveled that widely! Hard to go wrong with wine country in Italy.
  • @hannahw44 From what I understand the CVS or an amnio is only done if you want them and if your NT/NIPT screening shows there is a possibility of the disorders they screen for. However, that might be different in the States than here in Canada and given your age, so definitely check with your doctor.

  • EDD/W+D: 2/7 and 10+5

Team finding out/pink/blue/green: still undecided! So green!

Baby is the size of a: Strawberry 🍓

Upcoming appts: haven't scheduled but probably 2 weeks!

How are you feeling?: Tired. Really hungry. Still have boob soreness sticking around, I wonder for how much longer? Occasional nausea but tolerable.

Rants/Raves: We saw our baby yesterday!!!

Questions: When did you tell your coworkers??

GTKY: If you had to leave your current country, to what country would you choose to move (pretend language wouldn’t be an issue)?
If I had to go I'd probably pick Scotland! Seems like a pretty neat place. I've never been though!

@foreveronyourside I told my coworkers after my first appointment on 7/11, so about 10 weeks. And only did so because we were telling my daughter that night and she comes to work each morning before camp and would have definitely blabbed to them.

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): Lime

Upcoming appts: Aug 12 (just had one 7-15)

How are you feeling?: ugh, exhausted and cranky (which is just great since I work in the hospitality industry) and achy. Still feeling nauseous and getting sick if I don't eat often enough.

Rants/Raves: Got to see the baby moving on the US this week- so exciting and relieving! But honestly, so tired of going to drs appointments (feel like I've been going once a week for the past month between the dentist, my endocrinologist, OB, and therapist visits). I just want to sleep in before I have to go to work 😭

@foreveronyourside I decided I would tell my coworkers next week, so 12 weeks for me. I think I’m starting to show though probably others haven’t noticed. Plus we don’t even have a maternity leave policy (not even covered by FMLA, too small) so will take time to figure that out.

Baby is the size of a(n): lime

    Upcoming appts: July 24th

How are you feeling?: Much better! So excited to start feeling mostly normal again, only experiencing slight nausea when I’m hungry and terrible acne.

Rants/Raves: My mom is seriously the best. She was so excited to learn she’s going to be a grandma and has been checking on me and baby constantly! My husbands family, on the other hand, has never been super supportive of me. They didn’t participate in the planning part of our wedding at all because they were too caught up in my SIL’s wedding a few months before. They’ve always made me feel unimportant which is so disappointing. So when they found out I was pregnant (the fourth baby on that side) they weren’t overly thrilled and haven’t checked in with me at all. Guess they’re more excited about the third baby coming in November than ours. Doesn’t help that we also live 2000 miles away instead of 10, like their other kids and grandkids 😕

Questions: Do most people get an ultrasound at their second appointment (around 12 weeks) even if they don’t have genetic testing done? I’m nervous I won’t get to see baby again until our anatomy scan.

GTKY: If you had to leave your current country, to what country would you choose to move (pretend language wouldn’t be an issue)? Ireland or Scotland. I’m in love with the Outlander series and would love to live there someday ❤️
  • @taylork2020 I won't be getting another U/S until the anatomy scan. My last pregnancy my OB didn't even do a dating U/S at my first appt, so I was pretty thankful I got that this time around. But I am bummed also. I love seeing the sweet little baby and makes me sad I have to wait another couple of months!
  • @bg122785 dang it, okay 😕 I was hoping otherwise but I guess I just have to be patient. Thank you!
  • @foreveronyourside I told my boss last week because I had a spotting scare and needed to leave early to go to the doctor. She and I discussed today that I might share with our Executive Director next month for annual planning purposess, but probably won't share more broadly until the end of the summer.
  • @kmj1426 I have decided pants aren't worth it. I've worn a dress every day for the last 2 weeks.
  • @taylork2020 I had my first appointment today at 11+4. No u/s and she didnt schedule one yet. We also didnt get to hear the heartbeat, she said it may just be too early. She mentioned a dating u/s, but my next appointment back is in 4 weeks.
  • @taylork2020 I get another ultrasound at my 12 week appointment. I think it just depends on your dr.
  • @robynlynn2000 @kmj1426 good to know, thank you! I’ll just have to ask what my doctor’s schedule usually looks like for ultrasounds when I see them on Wednesday. Crossing my fingers that we get to see baby again before the anatomy scan, it’s just too fun to see them moving around in there 😍
  • @taylork2020 That is our main reason for doing the nuchal screening. 😍😎
  • @mandk1233 is that an additional charge that insurance usually covers?
  • @taylork2020 I am in Canada, so all this stuff is covered by my provincial healthcare. I have no idea how it works down in the States. Sorry. 😕
  • EDD/W+D: Feb 4th / 11 weeks 2 days

Team finding out/pink/blue/green: We love to be surprised!

Baby is the size of a(n): Lime

    Upcoming appts: July 25th

How are you feeling?: Yesterday & today were the first two days I wasn't nauseous 24/7. I was so amazed at how good I finally felt that I deep cleaned the whole house yesterday bc I feel like all I've done is lay on the couch lately 😂 Here's hoping nausea is gone for good!

Rants/Raves: Raving about my poor hubby who has been a trooper & picked up all the slack w housework lately🙌

    Questions:

GTKY: If you had to leave your current country, to what country would you choose to move (pretend language wouldn’t be an issue)?
Italy🇮🇹 Life is at such a different pace there. Life is for living and enjoying each and every moment. Also, FOOD. 🍝🍕🍷
  • EDD/W+D: 2/3/20, 11 weeks 3 days

Team finding out/pink/blue/green: still up in the air!

Baby is the size of a(n): poker chip

Upcoming appts: 13 week ultrasound and OB

How are you feeling?: pretty normal

Rants/Raves: Had to drive 45 minutes both ways to see an Endo this week. Told me what I already knew and I am starting on meds (again) for hypothyroidism

    Questions:

GTKY: If you had to leave your current country, to what country would you choose to move (pretend language wouldn’t be an issue)? Spain
  • @mcbe4990 tpday was a productive day for me too. I did have some nausea on the drive to work but that subsided quickly. I managed to not only be productive at work, instead of feeling miserable, but did not get sick. Then, after working 10 hrs, i picked up the kids from the sitter, went to two stores for groceries, took out the house trash, including litter boxes (yeah i know but no one else will clean them) washed some dishes, did a load of laundry, and took all the trash to the road for pickup. Im about to start dinner and, although im tired, I feel pretty good. Kudos to you for doing your housework as well. The things we took for granted, right?
  • @esimpson720 I feel you on the endo visits. I've already had my Synthroid bumped up twice and am not looking forward to endo visits every 4 weeks. So much bloodwork ugh
  • Right @pinkiswhereallofitstarts ?!?? I feel like a pin cushion already...
