WTF Wednesday 7.17

Re: WTF Wednesday 7.17

  • @b_1029 Okay, this woman drives me insane and I don't have to deal with her. I don't know how you do it.
  • Loading the player...
  • @b_1029 Is there any way you guys can split responsibilities so your work doesn't overlap so much? Then if she doesn't get her work done, it's her problem and not yours.
  • @b_1029 seriously, wtf?? Like, she can't be the only person who has a neighbor with a yappy dog. Does she not try to do anything to help herself? Damn.

    Reminds me of my coworker who has on at least 2 occasions said that he will be coming in later than his normal start time (9:30) because of his return flight the previous day. Wtf kind of time are his flights landing that he would have difficulty coming in at his normal time when he starts later than all of us to beginning with? Doesn't make sense!!

  • @b_1029 oh wow...so many excuses from this lady.  What is she like when she's physically in the office? She is going to be in for a rude awakening if/when she tries to get another job and asks for references.
  • @b_1029 I would be sooo tempted to lay out how easily you've been able to handle the things she says she has a hard time doing and tell her expect the same courtesy when you're unavailable. And cc my boss. But I'm petty like that.😆
  • @ruby696 I definitely have that thought go through my head with my 1 coworker. He claims logging our calls and emails takes a long time and I'm like... Entering a few fields for 1 case should take you maybe a minute if you have a lot of notes for it. Without interruption a few should take you 5-10 minutes together. I can't stand people who claim they're so busy and backlogged when I have more responsibilities than them and still get all my stuff done on time.

    @emeraldduchess she still doesn't get much done. She's always on FB messenger and youtube (says the person who's always on TB...but hey, at least other people aren't asking her where my stuff is, like people do to me for her). I know she's over this job and I think there's other stuff going on...but there are only 2 of us, you have to pull your weight somewhat! I think the same thing - like how's she going to survive her next job where her manager doesn't totally baby her??!?

    @ruby696 I haven't told my manager about the communications stuff only taking a few hours, but she has definitely heard my other rampages. I always feel like I'm tattling but it's not like our manager actually does anything about it.
  • Ugh @b_1029 that sounds awful. I'm so sorry. Do you think there's any possibility of her seeing consequences for all of this crap?

  • @jennifer_louise that's like the opposite of BBQs with my family growing up!  One relative that usually hosted used to buy either ONE hot dog/hamburger per person and ONE family-sized bag of chips for everyone to share. :|
  • @jennifer_louise omg how do you still have that much food??? Did he add a zero somewhere by mistake when counting? That's a full 30 days worth of meals if you have 1 item each!

  • @jennifer_louise That is so much food. Did he think 20 extra people were coming that didn’t show?

    @b_1029 WTF? That’s the worst. I hate useless co-workers.

    My WTF is also a useless co-worker. We’re making some changes at work that I think will mostly double my workload. My suggestion was to ease the transition and move some of my stuff to others, so I can handle the new stuff. His suggestion was to let him keep the one easy part so he can claim he’s too busy to take anything else, leaving me with all the hard stuff I currently do and the hard stuff another employee does that she’s trading for other hard work. He only does the one easy thing now, so he doesn’t want to risk having to think.

    ETA: bleed as in AF bleed in case that wasn't clear!

  • @inthewoods23 Off topic, but related you your GIF:  Did anyone watch the new Aziz Ansari stand-up special on Netflix?  He talked very openly about the allegations against him, and was really humble about it.  I thought it was very respectable, and a great example of what you SHOULD do when accused of those kinds of things, as opposed to most celebrities who become very defensive and/or victim blame.  It was very refreshing.
