    EDD/W+D: 12/10- 17 weeks 6 days (18 weeks tomorrow)

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Blue

Baby is the size of a(n): Tomorrow he will be the size of a artichoke

Upcoming appts: OB appointment July 15 and Anatomy scan on the 19th

How are you feeling?: Feeling good except for RLP and feeling more uncomfortable sleeping in certain positions

Rants/Raves: I passed my 3 hour glucose tolerance test!! Also I came back low risk for the spina bifida screen. Thursday I am going on a road trip to Nashville with a friend to a Game of Thrones Convention until Sunday. We announced our pregnancy with baby #2 on social media.

    Questions: Nada

GTKY What shows are you into? Right now I am watching Big Little Lies, Handmaids Tale and Stranger Things. Trash TV: 90 day fiance and all the spin offs they have! Other shows I watch: Game of Thrones, so sad its over!!, This is Us, Better Call Saul, A Million Little Things, True Detective, American Horror Story
  • @Spartanrd4 YAY for passing your GD test and your low risk testing! Also, there is a Game of Thrones convention in Nashville? How did I now know of this. I am jealous and now looking this up lol. I am close to Nashville.

  • EDD/W+D: EDD 12/14, 17 weeks, 2 days

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Team blue!

Baby is the size of a(n): Pomegranate!

    Upcoming appts: Next Wednesday--anatomy scan!

How are you feeling?: Achey, but otherwise, good--almost normal, with the exception of feeling/looking noticeably heavier. Yoga/physical therapy has been helping manage the aches.

Rants/Raves: Awesome husband going out and getting me happy, melty queso this week when I was craving it...he's the best. :-)

Questions: People with DOGS: what are your recommendations for fitting both a dog (50 lbs) and a car seat in the backseat? I found this online, and I think it might be what we go with, but the reviews seem to be a mix of good and complaints about it not being that sturdy. I think combined with a doggie seatbelt that hooks up to his harness though, and we might be in business. Any other options you've come across that you've had a great experience with? Unfortunately, I drive a compact hatchback, so he wouldn't fit back there, and the husband drives just a regular sedan (not a hatchback trunk), so that's also not an option for the fur baby. https://www.amazon.com/Kurgo-Heather-Hammock-Style-Cover/dp/B01MU7O40P/ref=asc_df_B01MU7O40P/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=251404331421&hvpos=1o3&hvnetw=g&hvrand=9699155938632399517&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9008533&hvtargid=pla-572046984182&psc=1

GTKY What shows are you into? Stranger Things right now. Also a fan of Call the Midwife, Doctor Who, Victoria, The Crown, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel...basically, all the popular binge-worthy ones on Amazon/Netflix, haha. Also an HGTV fan.
  • @klmcguire We were thinking about that too, possibly! I just didn't know how far they reached, and if he'd still be able to accidentally reach baby.
  • 17+1, green,  ftm, feeling great.  No appts till August.

I got a book called 12 hours sleep at 12 wks old and it's very helpful.  Has a lot of sleep and feeding guidelines which I was really feeling lost without.  I feel like I have  a plan now.

TV shows: I do keep up with this is us,  but that's it currently.  Sometimes I'll watch a little Bob's burgers or Rick and Morty for a laugh.  I loved mad men! But I'm mostly a reader, not a screen person!

    EDD/W+D: 12/16, 17 weeks today

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Green

Baby is the size of a(n): I guess he or she is a pomegranate!

Upcoming appts: Thursday I have a blood pressure check with my midwife.  She just saw me on June 28th, but doesn’t want me going too long between appointments since I’m high risk and my anatomy scan isn’t until July 31.  I passed my one hour glucose screening!!

How are you feeling?: I’m feeling good.  I think I’ve finally recovered from the first trimester fatigue.  I have been getting uncomfortable in bed despite my body pillow.  Maybe I need one of those pregnancy specific ones.

    Rants/Raves:

Questions: Is anyone using a stretch mark cream yet?  With my daughter I used Mamma Mio belly butter and I was considering ordering some but wondering what others like.  Also, anyone else dealing with hemorrhoids?  I disgust myself.  Can we use preparation h?

GTKY What shows are you into?  Fear the Walking Dead, Big Little Lies, just starting season 3 of Stranger things, New Girl, and my husband and I are watching Breaking Bad for the first time (we are way behind...) I also have some guilty pleasure shows like Teen Mom and Sweet Home Sextuplets.

  • @KTZ17 yes you can use prep h and I'm taking vital proteins collagen powder in my coffee every morning to supposedly help with skin elasticity.

    EDD/W+D: 12/10, 18w tomorrow

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Blue

Baby is the size of a(n): baby center says bell pepper

Upcoming appts: 7/25 regular appt, 7/26 anatomy scan

How are you feeling?: getting my appetite back, now to keep my snacking healthy and not gain too much...

Rants/Raves: still gagging and sometimes getting sick from brushing my teeth. So done with that

    Questions: not at the moment

GTKY What shows are you into? Only summer show with new eps I’m watching is Younger. Looking forward to OITNB and Wentworth on Netflix, then have to wait for fall shows to return...
  • EDD/W+D: 12/9, 18w today

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green: green!

Baby is the size of a(n): artichoke? These food sizes are hilarious to me...like, is an artichoke really a standard size? 😂

Upcoming appts: regular appt on Thursday, hoping we get to hear the heartbeat again 🤞

How are you feeling?: Eating everything in sight, still napping every day whenever I can. It’s a nice change from nausea and full body exhaustion...

Rants/Raves: Super nervous because I’m starting a new job tomorrow. They know I’m knocked up (my new boss is an old work friend who has been up to date on the whole journey) but I still feel a little crazy for doing this and right now.

Questions: Is anybody else getting overwhelmed by all of the baby registry/buying all of the gear stuff? I almost talked myself into buying a $550 stroller yesterday...kinda feel like I’m putting all my energy into researching and shopping because it’s the one thing I can know and control right now. Y’know?

GTKY What shows are you into? Loving Los Espookies right now! But mostly summer is bleh for TV.
  • EDD/W+D: 12/12, 17w4d

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green: blue

Baby is the size of a(n): onion

    Upcoming appts: thurs, ob apt

How are you feeling?: not too bad. Rlp and the pregnancy cold has kicked in. I had a cold pretty much my entire pregnancy with DS so I was expecting it to come on any day now.

Rants/Raves: I love fresh cherries but boy do they not love me. Might’ve ate a little too many today and was paying for it :(

    Questions: nope

GTKY What shows are you into? All of the popular Netflix, HBO, Hulu shows and all of the housewives. Pretty much all the fake reality shows on network tv haha.
  • @midgerose86 what stroller was it? I used a Bugaboo with DS but with all the money spent on it and it being a luxury stroller I really can’t see myself using it with two kids. DS would need to stand on the wheely board and he’s too wild for that lol.
  • @midgerose86 We haven't purchased a thing yet, and aren't planning to until early October...my shower is in September, so we're going to see what we get from that first and go from there. Plus, Babylist (where we're registered) has it so that any unpurchased items are 15% off 2 months prior to the due date, so that's our plan. We know a few family members will be generous and get us a few big things, so hopefully what we have to get ourselves is minimal. Not sure if that's helpful in terms of planning for you, but that's how we're working it.
  • @rjgmcmanus I’ve been using Babylist too! Didn’t realize they had that discount. My shower is also in September (9/21) but I feel nervous leaving big ticket items up...don’t want friends to feel like I’m asking them to buy me gifts in the $200+ range, so I’ve been categorizing all of those as “private.”

@ale9687 the stroller I want (after wasting many hours of my life researching, and then having it directly recommended by 2 mom friends) is the Uppababy Cruz. It’s ridiculously expensive especially since I’ll only be using it on weekends (I’m the breadwinner in my fam and work roughly 1 million hours/week 😭). But the heart wants what it wants?
  • @midgerose86 that’s a really good choice stroller. Even with working you’ll get a lot of use out of it and it’ll last you for years. When I was on maternity leave w DS we went on walks every day and I put him in the bassinet. You can also take the bassinet off the stroller and use it in your house as another safe sleep area. I hate to admit my single stroller was more than the vista and I wish I went with the vista over the bugaboo.
  • EDD/W+D:  12/13 17w3d

Rants/Raves: why do I love ice cream as much as my body hates it...

@midgerose86 everyone I know who has bought and Uppababy loves them. I was told to do Vista tho b/c it can convert to double.

    Edit: correct model
  • @klmcguire Yes its Friday-Sunday, it is called Con of Thrones. I bought a ticket to get my picture with the actor who played Jaime Lannister- I am so excited!!
you absolutely have to show us!! I am so jealous!!!
  • midgerose86 DH and I were just discussing the same thing. I mean it said an apple like 2 weeks ago, was that a VERY SMALL apple or are we going backwards lol.
  • @klmcguire I read something that at 18w baby is as long as a cucumber, but your uterus is the size of a sweet potato. I’m not sure what food store they go to but my cucumbers are almost double the length of a sweet potato.
  • @ale9687 They must be ging by the mini cucumber standards haha!

  • EDD/W+D:  December 9th 18 weeks 1 day

Team finding out/pink/blue/green: we are finding out....July 22!

Baby is the size of a(n): my app shows baby's fist is size of an m&m (thats so cute for me to imagine)

Upcoming appts: July 22 for the ultrasound

How are you feeling?: overall better than first trimester. I am still super tired but chasing a 4 year old and a 9 month old around all day is very exhausting. I had a bad run with allergies that have changed into dry itchy eyes which is driving me insane. I find my mood drastically changes from really happy to very low lows and moody. I don't have a huge circle to talk to to vent out stresses so that probably adds to the pot.

Rants/Raves: I overcame all my crazy food cravings but I still have a lot of food aversions to pork and steak most of the time. I like hamburger and can do that but any steak dish is not sitting well. I am gaining weight faster with this baby so I may actually break over 20lbs this time. Both my other pregnancies were under 20lbs and baby one was 7lbs 11oz and baby 2 was 6lbs 9oz.

    Questions: none, just trucking along

GTKY What shows are you into? Right now i binged watched Big Little Lies. Married at first sight. 90 day fiance. And the husband and I have been watching naked and afraid together in bed.

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Green!

Baby is the size of a(n): Artichoke

Upcoming appts: Anatomy scan on 7/23 !!!!!

How are you feeling?: I'm having a very good past few days after a horrible week of returned nausea, heart burn, and exhaustion!

Rants/Raves: Just finishing up a most amazing book that I have to share if you're an introvert like me....

Introverted Mom: Your Guide to More Calm, Less Guilt, and Quiet Joy by Jamie Martin

Questions: STM and still not feeling the baby at all..... I'm 18 weeks. Anyone else? I'm trying not to worry....

GTKY What shows are you into? Big Brother, RHOBH, RHOP, RHOOC, Below Deck, all the Chicago based shows (Med, Fire, PD), This is Us, Call the Midwife, The Crown, Victoria, and I was a big Downton Abbey fan but on Netflix (I wasn't into it AT ALL during the regular seasons)

@triwellnessgirl I’m in the same boat re not feeling anything at 18 weeks...and I was just talking to a woman in my pregnancy class who is also same (actually due a little sooner). We both heard strong heartbeats today so I wouldn’t worry!!

oh also: at your anatomy scan you should ask where your placenta is positioned. If it’s in front of the baby you probably won’t feel anything until the baby is a lot bigger (and it’s totally normal).
  • Thanks @midgerose86 ! I remember also feeling my first baby later than other pregnant friends (I think 22 weeks or so) but everyone told me with my second I'd feel the baby a lot sooner! I'll def ask about my placenta! Thanks!
(PS Heard a strong heartbeat of 160 on Friday! :)
  • @triwellnessgirl thank you for that book recommendation! I'm going to put it on my library holds list.
My baby has been moving like crazy this week actually. Please don't worry if yours hasn't. A strong heartbeat I'm sure I'd what's most important at this stage!
  • Awwww yay! @bookworm492 Must be so cool to feel the baby! I was at a Portuguese Festival when I felt my first baby move for the first time (and not want to stop!). BEST FEELING!! I knew from that day forward Baby was going to love music and have lots of energy. And SHE TOTALLY DOES, haha...
  • @triwellnessgirl stm here also at 18w and most of the movements I feel are super subtle. I bet in the next week or so you’ll start feeling something.
  • @triwellnessgirl Ask at your anatomy scan if you have an anterior placenta... TTM here and I have been completely freaked out this time around because I feel absolutely nothing, well at my 16week scan I was talking to the US tech about it and she told me I likely wont feel anything until week 20-22 because I have an anterior placenta, covers basically the front of the stomach so you dont feel quite as much. I mean I feel him maybe once a week, but that is it and that is very not like my other 2.

  • cnd29cnd29 member
@triwellnessgirl just this week for me I’ve felt like wow, yep now I’m really pregnant. Belly popped, ankles starting to swell (it was a problem last time too) and the movement has started. Just yesterday I felt a real kick for the first time. Just one but I was sure of it. I’ve been feeling some slight rumbles a few days prior, the kind that you’re not sure if it’s baby or gas. But last night for sure. It’s amazing how it happens all of a sudden. I feel it the most at night when I’m relaxing with a full stomach after dinner...
  • That’s so awesome @cnd29 !! Thanks for sharing!!

PS ... Tonight was on the couch watching “Ferdinand” with my daughter and you know the part at the end during the bullfight when the crowd cheers for Ferdinand and wants him free?? Well the Baby must’ve really loved it because s/he started kicking and moving SO much! FINALLY!! Praise God! I’m so excited!
