@begging4abump I feel like they definitely should give you number results. Happy anniversary! Ours is on July 23. It was a nice 95 degrees that day. @inthewoods23 I don’t have experience with pharmacies and fertility meds other than progesterone, but I have gone to pick prescriptions up and have had it denied. Usually a call by the pharmacy to explain (such as why I had prednisone twice in a month - poison ivy near my eyes and viral pharyngitis and yes, my doc purposely prescribed double the normal dose of reflux meds because it was severe) got me the prescription. I hope that’s an easy fix for you.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
@mokay19 that makes sense. I’m sorry you’re in this position (and for my being so oblivious that I asked you to spell it out for me). I hope the waiting time goes by quickly, but also helps you feel prepared for next steps.
@mokay19@chichiphin Thanks for sharing about your calls, too. It gives me that nudge I need to call again...or better yet, have mh do it.
@NYTino24 happy early anniversary to you guys! 95? Oof! I can’t say I know what the temperature was for us, but I sure was a smelly, sweaty mess at the end of the night—just what every groom dreams about for his wedding night, right? 😂 Anyway, I hope the stars align for you to get those frames up and video taken care of!
Way to get it done @chichiphin! Sending all the good vibes for tomorrow morning!
@misshelen86 gotcha, well I hope his test doesn’t show anything crazy! I do have a few people I can talk to IRL but I feel bad because it seems to be all I’m talking about and I feel like I’m leaning on them so heavily...ya know?
@bluetickgal this will be my first time on letrozole. I did 1 round of clomid and ovulated but the side effects weren’t conducive to TTC (aka no CM, haha). I ovulate on my own so I guess the idea is to make it stronger.
@begging4abump ugh that’s so frustrating! I’m mad for you! As far as the SA, they just told me everything was normal but didn’t give specifics. It might’ve been different if they had talked to DH? When I went to a different RE I had DH request the record and it had the actual numbers on there.
@chichiphin Great job!! That was my biggest fear and I felt like such a badass after!!
@begging4abump I would call back and ask for copies of the results of each test to be sent to you. You have every right to the documents and then you can take your time comparing and not feel like you're being brushed off.
@inthewoods23 Ugh, how frustrating. I hope you're able to appeal it (and how ridiculous that you would even need to). I'm nervous about where I'm getting meds once I start. I'll probably just go through whoever my doctor refers me to, even though I feel like that will probably cost more.
I realized I missed some tags yesterday...it took me so long to write/post my first message, that a couple people posted in the meantime and then I missed some others after too. Trying to catch up now.
@jennifer_louise I’m sorry you are struggling with hitting the year mark, that is so tough!! I totally feel ya though, ironically that’s when I started lurking here. With PCOS, I knew it wasn’t going to be easy, but still didn’t think it would take this long! Hopefully your OB will get you referred soon, that’s frustrating they aren’t being responsive!
@mokay19 good luck with your hysteroscopy and getting more info about your IVF options!
@begging4abump hope you can get some insight on the cramping issues, and get your H’s SA results!
@b_1029 hopefully Letrozole will be good for you! I don’t have too many side-effects with it, other than a miserable headache right at the end of my dose! I had the same thing happen with Clomid as far as the CM goes, and it hasn’t really been an issue with Letrozole. We still use Conceive Plus at times, but most of the time it’s not needed.
Edited to change the name of the lube we use, because I’m crazy and it’s not Conceive Easy (which is a good thing, because that would be false advertisement)!
**Appointment update** I had my HSG and US today and they found I have a septum uterus that they can fix via surgery and 1% morphology sperm count (should be 4%) which should be approached probably with an IUI. Feeling fortunate our insurance covers it all.
Also, he spotted 5 and 6 follicles on each, an egg which was forming well, no fibroids or blockages.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Not sure if we should wait to TTC this cycle. I will call tomorrow to ask.
How are things going?: Kind of taking it all in.
Any questions?: Just curious if others have experience with low morphology sperm numbers, I guess.

@bobbyflies2020 That’s a lot of info at once, but great that it’s workable. I know we’ve had a few ladies who have had that surgery and have been successful after. Hopefully they will chime in.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
@bobbyflies2020 glad to hear that they seem to have a diagnosis and a loose game plan! Also, thank goodness your insurance covers it to avoid that stress
@bobbyflies2020 oh wow, that’s a lot of info to take in! I can’t speak to the low morph, but when do you think you’ll have the surgery? That’s awesome that your insurance covers it- what a relief! Other than the obvious, money is the most stressful part of all of this!
@ruby696 yeah I definitely need the explanation for why. Because I was thinking.... I want multiple kids which means we'll go through multiple FETs and each will require the lupron so are they telling me I need to pay full price with each and every FET? I sure hope I don't need to do that!

@bobbyflies2020 wow! glad surgery is an option and insurance covers it. Morphology is controversial on predictive outcomes when it comes to SA numbers. Some say it matters, others don’t. Do you know what part of the sperm has majority defects? MH had 2% morph with all head defects and our insurance required him to have another SA after at least 2 weeks. His morph went up to 4% (but still all head defects) so our RE was okay with IUI..... however, if it was less than 4%, insurance would have automatically approved IVF and our RE would have liked us to do IVF because the head is what you need to penetrate the egg. Hope this helps!
edit - I think it’s fair to ask for a second SA while you have surgery etc to see if there is any improvement and to do your own research on 1% morph and IUI outcomes.
@bobbyflies2020 That’s a lot to take in at once! Good to hear that insurance covers this all. Do you know when the surgery will be?
@b_1029 Yea I get it. I worry that people will get sick of me obsessing over this. I met with a counselor last month and it was great to just have a full hour to talk to a professional about everything.
@begging4abump how frustrating!! I got a printout of DH’s lab work. You have a right to know the numbers. So sorry about the cramping and that the meds don’t seem to be helping with that.

@chichiphin Interesting! He didnt mention the type of deformity, but I will ask next time.
@misshelen86 I have to get a pelvic MRI first to confirm for insurance purposes and husband needs to see a urologist so I imagine it won't be at least for 2 months. I can live with that, though. We would TTC naturally until the surgery, but I am concerned about the risk of preterm labor with the septum. I am going to call and ask about that today.
@begging4abump We also got numbers for the SA. I dont blame you for wanting to know the specifics.

@bluetickgal the scan I am having is referred to as a hycosy (that's the shortened name from a very long medical term that I can't remember). It's a little different from the HSG. This one uses contrast dye, checks the uterus and fallopian tubes. I think the purpose of both procedures is the same, they're just slightly different methods.
@begging4abump OMG that is so frustrating about not getting the specifics about your H's SA. I don't know if the RE is going to call us with the results or wait until our follow up appointment, but DH says he wants to call on Friday to check (assuming they have the results by then). I'm glad he's interested in this whole process, now.
@inthewoods23 busting out the Jurassic Park gif! Love it!
@chichiphin ugh so sorry !! How insensitive of that person.

@bobbyflies2020 are there levels of severity to septum uteruses like there are for bicornuate uteruses? Maybe your chances of issues would be lower if you have a lower severity to decrease your worry? I don’t know though! Just thinking “out loud”
@emeraldduchess thanks for explaining the difference! Hopefully you’ll get some good insight from it tomorrow! I knew the HSG was primarily to check your tubes, but didn’t know the reason behind the other scans...I’m just trying to learn all that I can.
@bobbyflies2020 hopefully you can get some answers today and the septum uterus won’t cause any problems for continuing to try in the meantime.
@chichiphin good luck with your IUI...sorry for the insensitive person in the waiting room!
@emeraldduchess Yes - I got my referral and I'm hoping my insurance will allow me to treat with my current doctor. My RE is recommending it.
@chichiphin Dying over the turkey baster comment 😂 And sorry about the kids in the waiting room. Some lady brought her sick kid to one of my appointments once. Gee, thanks. I made a point to mention that during a subsequent appointment.
@bobbyflies2020 I admire how solution-focused you are! Taking notes over here, lol. that’s great that you’ve got a plan of action for where to go from here. And insurance coverage is huge! I just got the bill for my recent laparoscopy: over 43k. What the what!! Thank goodness for insurance!!
@misshelen86 glad to hear you’re not waiting until October!
@chichiphin I hope the iui went well despite the waiting room annoyances. Hopefully you won’t have too many more visits there anyway.
@emeraldduchess I’m glad YH was able to get the sample in. That was a stressful thing for us for some reason. Mh had tried getting his results from the ppl he submitted to, but we had to wait for our re dr office to give us the info for some reason. I hope you’re not waiting too long! I think your appt is tomorrow? I’ll be thinking of you!
Nurse just called my hcg is down to 42. So BC starts tonight! And they are having me start a supplement this weekend in preparation of IVF. Supposed to help with egg quality. It's starting to feel real now.
@hanshotfirst77 glad you got good bloodwork results and can start moving forward with IVF.
@begging4abump I think the lab where DH turned in his sample just reports findings but the diagnosis has to come from the RE. I was able to get a follow up appointment for next week (yay!), so we won't have to wait long for results and to start making a plan.
@chichiphin I'm sorry you had to deal with that rude person. Those no-child policies are in place for a reason! Your turkey baster comment had me laughing, though! I hope your IUI went well!
@emeraldduchess Good luck at your Saline and US today. Thinking of you and sending you good vibes.
@mokay19 I ended up scheduling an MRI around FW, which could be risky for pregnancy, so I am benched, which I am OK with.
We were able to schedule a bunch of appointmentents next week: Another SA and urologist appointment for husband to check for varicocele on Wednesday. Pelvic MRI for me on Tuesday. At this rate, it seems like I might be able to have my surgery/procedure in August and maybe start TTC again in September 🤞

@bobbyflies2020 that's amazing that things are falling into place so quickly for you guys as far as appointments. It's certainly a lot of information to take in. Definitely keep us updated!
Thanks for all the good wishes, ladies! My hycosy scan went really well. I saw follicles on both ovaries, my tubes are clear, and they didn't see anything concerning with my uterus(and no tumbleweeds blowing through either ). DH was able to come in and sit with me for the procedure and he was very impressed with how calm I was while having two people all up in my lady bits with all that equipment. Ha! Assuming DH's SA comes back fine, I think the next step is to look at my LP. We're getting there!
@NYTino24 & @begging4abump Happy anniversary to both of you! Hope you have a nice time celebrating your annis. Ours just passed on 7.7–we got lucky & had the ONE day in the entire summer that downpoured all night & the morning of our big day. The sun came out at noon for a 4 pm start. Relief!
@bluetickgal Nice job on your post & tags! (I feel you: it always takes me sooo long to write these that I wonder how others keep up!)
@jennifer_louise Huge Hugs to you on your year milestone. I can relate. This journey is unreal sometimes.
@bobbyflies2020 Hooray for answers! As everyone else said: it’s a lot, but at least you have a clear plan going forward!
@emeraldduchess So glad to hear your sono went so well! I love YH being in awe. Oh yes, men, the things we ladies go through!
@hanshotfirst77 FX for your next go-around! You’re such a trooper.
@anyone I forgot-I’m sorry, I’m on mobile without service. Self-explanatory ;-)
AFM, I’ve been anxious all week b/c we knew we’d be going for a natural IUI (no trigger shot) this week but my doctor is located on another island. FF predicted I’d ovulate this coming Friday or Saturday but that timing didn’t seem right to me. In order to get the timing of our appointment just right I had to get my bloodwork done each morning at my neighborhood lab, wait for the labs to be sent to the main city on another island, & then wait until late at night to see results online in order to see if the numbers showed that it was time to jump on a plane early the next morning. Well, I called the RE’s office on Monday saying we’d better do the IUI this Wednesday. I could just tell we’d better move it up. But Tuesday bloodwork that came in late that night predicted we should aim for Friday. Plus my OPKs were all negative. Yesterday (Wednesday morning) I took an OPK & it was barely heading toward “High” range. Then I did the Wednesday morning bloodwork at the lab. When I got home an hour later I did another OPK & got a blazing “Peak” reading. I called the RE’s office & begged them to let me come in. It was too late yesterday, their schedule was booked. The nurse very hesitantly scheduled me for today instead of Friday. My Wednesday bloodwork came in late last night: numbers were off the charts for impending O—but that was a full 24 hours ago. I had cramping during the night & a temp drop this morning. It’s clearly O day. We are flying to our appointment right now. I am PRAYING that we didn’t miss our window! Starting tomorrow I will be traveling across the country for work for a big chunk of every month so I feel like this is our last good shot for awhile. 🤞🏽
Thank you @chichiphin! Geez, I feel like I always bring the drama.🙄 I checked in at the appointment. MH is upstairs giving his sample. I’ve been sent to the lab downstairs to do more bloodwork to make sure it’s not too late. All I can think of is these precious minutes ticking by and my egg possibly degenerating.

Love it!
@misshelen86 so glad things were moved up!
@jennifer_louise that's beyond frustrating that you have to keep calling the RE's office.
@ruby696 hope the appointment with the OB went well!

@bobbyflies2020 hopefully you can get some answers today and the septum uterus won’t cause any problems for continuing to try in the meantime.
@chichiphin good luck with your IUI...sorry for the insensitive person in the waiting room!
@chichiphin Dying over the turkey baster comment 😂 And sorry about the kids in the waiting room. Some lady brought her sick kid to one of my appointments once. Gee, thanks. I made a point to mention that during a subsequent appointment.
@misshelen86 Yay so glad your appt got moved up!
Nurse just called my hcg is down to 42. So BC starts tonight! And they are having me start a supplement this weekend in preparation of IVF. Supposed to help with egg quality. It's starting to feel real now.

@hanshotfirst77 I’m glad you’re on to the next step!

I'm so excited for you @hanshotfirst77! FX the process goes smoothly for you
Thanks for all the good wishes, ladies!
@misshelen86 FX the testing goes well!
@anyone I forgot-I’m sorry, I’m on mobile without service. Self-explanatory ;-)
