This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ball game. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this as an ongoing conversation.
Diagnosis (if you've been):
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA):
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?):
How are things going?:
Any questions?:
GTKY: what is something you want to do before summer is over?
Good luck today, @chichiphin! I hope you get great news at your appointment!
Diagnosis (if you've been): RPL, still need to finish a few more initial tests
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Still trying on our own, but will hopefully be a step or two closer to a plan. DH's re-do SA is tomorrow and my saline ultrasound is Thursday. Is it weird that I am kind of looking forward to seeing what my ute and fallopian tubes look like?
How are things going?: I am still frustrated about what happened last week, but I am trying to look at it as another step closer to answers since the RE now wants to do more testing and look into my LP(which I asked about at my appointment back in May).
Any questions?: How uncomfortable is this ultrasound going to be? They told me to take ibuprofen before the procedure.
GTKY: what is something you want to do before summer is over? I really want to get my house organized. I also want to read more than 2 books, since I have very little time to read for fun during the school year.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): finally got a plan! Wednesday I go for bw to test my hcg down and if it’s under 100 I start BC for 3 weeks, Then I can schedule Saline Sono, Then if that is all clear go back on BC for 1-3 weeks and then start IVF stims!
How are things going?: Ehh
Well this MC finally seems over. After almost 4 weeks. Smh. And I’m so glad to finally have even a loose plan to IVF. But I was a little discouraged at how much BC I need to be on. I understand the reasons I just wish it wasn’t so much waiting. But my calculations put a potential ER somewhere around early Sept so I guess it’s not too far off.
Any questions?: Not yet but I’m sure as I start IVF I will have a ton.
GTKY: what is something you want to do before summer is over?
Probably something fun and to do with water. Pool, beach, water park. Idk something. I’ve pretty much spent all summer being a depressed mess.
@chichiphin yay for your IUI!! Question about the process - does YH give his sample right before the IUI? I feel like we're headed there next and I have many questions...
@emeraldduchess I'm weirdly excited for your saline sono too. I was hoping to get mine this cycle too but I think I missed my chance. I guess next time! Update us on that!
@hanshotfirst77 yay for a plan! That sounds great. Frustrating for you to be here but I'm glad you are moving forward.
Diagnosis: still unexplained secondary IF
Status: WTO
What are you doing this cycle? Clomid, 50 mg. I was desperately trying to schedule my own saline sono this cycle but despite my best and most persistent efforts last week (I just checked, I had 12 outgoing calls to my OB to get their butts moving on my referral to the RE) I think I missed my window. I was excited at the possibility of some explanation. But, not this cycle.
How are things going? Up and down, as always. I'm having a harder time hitting the year milestone than I thought I would. I can't help thinking of this same time last summer when I was still TTC and really finding it hard to believe I'm still here. The hopelessness is real sometimes.
Any questions? Not now!
GTKY: I feel like I have taken really good advantage of the summer so far, but one thing I always look forward to is camping with my parents/siblings in August at a bluegrass festival. It's always a good time.
@chichiphin good luck at the monitoring appt and I hope
the follicles showed nice growth with a good lining! I always brought my trigger shot to the
doctor just in case and was lucky enough that the nurse was able to do it for
me 😊
@emeraldduchess I was also excited to see a more detailed
look at my uterus and tubes! Good luck with the testing this week!
@hanshotfirst77 hopefully you’ll be on the lower end of
BC time. But it’s also exciting to have
a plan for IVF and moving forward with it!
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): I'll be starting BC this week
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): hysteroscopy will get scheduled today so hopefully that'll be in the next week or two.
How are things going?: Well, they're going. I'm better today than I felt on Saturday. I'm just excited to get going to the next step and get the surgery done to see what's going on. Also, very excited to discuss my IVF options with the doctor soon.
Any questions?: for people who had a hysteroscopy, how was the recovery? My doctor puts you under so I know that I won't be going to work that day, but I just want to hear if people recovered in that one day and how the following day/s was/were?
GTKY: what is something you want to do before summer is over? go to the zoo and spend more time at the beach in our town!
@mokay19 Good luck with the hysteroscopy! I've never had one so I have no advice but I hope it goes well.
@jennifer_louise I hope you can get your Saline Sono soon. I will be going for mine in a few weeks hopefully too. The milestones are so hard. Sending you big hugs
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Metformin, Femara CD3-7, and bloodwork on CD21. This is our last cycle with the OB, we have an appt. with an RE scheduled for August 15th.
How are things going?: Pretty good...excited to meet with the RE and get a plan of action if we don’t get KU this cycle.
Any questions?: Will probably have a ton after we meet with the RE, but none for now.
GTKY: what is something you want to do before summer is over? We are planning a beach trip for late September, so just anxiously awaiting that!
@chichiphin I hope your scan goes well today and you have some good follies! Is this your first IUI cycle?
@emeraldduchess good luck with the SA and saline US this week! What exactly is the Saline US? I’ve seen HSG and SHG (I think) and don’t really understand the difference in those 2...is the saline something different from both of those or is it the SHG?
@hanshotfirst77 I’ve seen you post about your journey, and I’m so sorry it has been so drawn out...that’s wonderful that it finally seems to be over! That’s exciting you have a plan for IVF, hopefully the BC periods will fly by!
@mokay19. Recovery was not bad, from what I remember, once the fuzzies wore off from the anaesthesia. Just a bit of cramping/ spotting.. you're going to do great! ;)
@hanshotfirst77 I'm so glad things are starting to turn a corner and look a little brighter for you. Hey, maybe we'll get to be transfer buddies!!! ❤
@chichiphin. GL today!!!! Hope your iui goes textbook perfectly for you :)
@jennifer_louise. I'm sorry the year mark is hitting you hard. (((hugs))) scheduling I feel like turns into one of the hardest parts of the whole treatment process. Fx you get the SHG in next cycle... OR BETTER YET, IT'S NOT NEEDED!!! ;)
@bluetickgal. Fx this last cycle with the Ob is it for you! I'm glad having a plan to see the RE can give you a little peace for now.
@bluetickgal Thank you, and Good luck to you, hopefully this will be it for you and you don't need the RE. But I'm glad you have it in case you do. Having a plan always make me feel a little more at peace too.
@keikilove thank you! @emeraldduchess fx YH's SA is a little smoother this time around! also I'm so sorry about last week. I'm glad your RE is seriously looking at all possibilities @hanshotfirst77 I'm so happy you have a plan in place. I hope you're finding things that bring you joy during the waiting/lead up. @jennifer_louise ugh I'm so sorry your OB office is so unresponsive. It is night and day when it comes to OB vs RE's in that regard. @mokay19 good luck - no words of wisdom on this one, but I am glad you're going to be under for it! @BusinessWife thank you!! @bluetickgal thank you! Yes it is my first IUI. All have been TI with letrozole. Hope the meds are treating you well this cycle!
back from my appointment - and have some RE whiplash. I have a 25mm follie (only one this time) and 8.8mm lining on CD12! awaiting trigger instructions based off of blood work from this morning, but if I'm not already O'ing on my own, I'll trigger between 8-6pm tonight and IUI is 8am Wednesday. They did a post-coitus CM check and rated it "poor", so they're very happy I'm doing an IUI because my CM is NOT responsive to sperm at the moment.
@emeraldduchess no, totally not weird. I get excited for any test or procedure that brings me closer to finding out what's wrong and getting KU. Idk if I sorta enjoy it because I'm part of the lucky few that gets to experience it or what.
@hanshotfirst77 my clinic said I can be on BC anywhere from 18 days to 32 days. My FET is in September so I actually have 2 rounds of BC to be on. 21 days for the first round and 23 for the 2nd. They said I can't be on it for too long so that I have some kind of bleed. (Going on a tanngent) Which then had me wondering about the BC ads I saw some years ago where you're on BC for 3 months straight so you only have a period 4 times a year. I remember the ad saying having a period every month is not medically necessary. I wonder if that's still offered. (Back on topic) hope you get to start IVF soon!
@jennifer_louise bummer that you couldn't get the saline sono in. Timing can be hard since you can't be bleeding when they do it.
@mokay19 can't go wrong with the zoo in the summer!
@bluetickgal I hope the days go by fast to your RE appointment!
Diagnosis (if you've been): unexplained/MFI
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WFFET
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): BC until the 16th, then BC again. Saline sono when I get back from vacation on the 15th. I didn't take an ibuprofen beforehand last time and it sucked so I better take it this time!
How are things going?: good, just going along. Also I figured me trying to take so many ofy supplements at 1 time was the problem last week for my stomach. I think I have a good routine for that down now.
Any questions?: Nope
GTKY: what is something you want to do before summer is over? Have a successful FET 🙂 otherwise I just want to have relaxing weekend mornings.

@chichiphin GL at the appointment! Rooting for you so hard!
@emeraldduchess Hope the rest of your testing goes well and the u/s isn’t too uncomfortable. I also really want to see my Ute/tubes. I’m keeping FX for you that you get some answers soon.
@hanshotfirst77 So exciting you have a plan. I hope your bloodwork comes back okay so you can get started right away. All the waiting would definitely be frustrating!
@jennifer_louise It’s a roller coaster for sure. Hugs to you friend! Sorry to hear you missed your window for the saline sono, so frustrating that you had to make that many calls and got nowhere.
@mokay19 Glad things are moving forward and hoping your hysteroscopy happens soon and goes well!
@bluetickgal Glad you have an appt with an RE! FX you won’t need it, but if so I hope you come up with a plan moving forward.
Diagnosis (if you’ve been): Still testing, some MFI
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): CD3 testing next cycle since I missed the window this time; DH going for u/s to check for varicoceles in a few weeks
How are things going? Not bad.. Just a little discouraged with the sitting and waiting. I got my ultrasound date which is not until the end of October. I called to ask if I could be put on a cancellation list and they said they don’t have one, it goes by whether your doc checks off routine or urgent. I know this isn’t urgent, but that is a long time to wait! I’m hoping I can still get referred to an RE in the meantime.
Any questions? Not yet
GTKY: what is something you want to do before summer is over? Lots of lying on the beach! That’ s my favorite place to be but we have only done a half day there so far.
Me: 35 DH: 35 TTC since 9/2018
Dx: MFI 10/19- First RE visit 2/20- DH had surgery for bilateral varicoceles 7/20- IUI with 5 mg letrozole- BFN 9/20- IVF. 9 eggs retrieved, 9 mature, 8 fertilized with ICSI, 7 blasts, 4 PGT-A normal 11/20- Mock transfer/ERA 12/20- FET #1- transferred one 4AB- BFN 3/21- FET #2- transferred one 3AB- BFP! Due Dec 2021 12/21- Baby girl born!
@chichiphin I hope the appointment went smoothly and the trigger shot is an easy one!! Pool time sounds great.
@emeraldduchess I hope husband's SA goes smoothly tomorrow. BTW, I told MH about what happened and he said the sample they give the men is hilariously narrow and shallow. Ridiculous! Not weird to want to see your US. Same here.
Have you had a vaginal US before? The wand is on the large side, but not too uncomfortable. From what people have said here, the saline insertion seems to pinch and cramp and then there is cramping mild to severe after the fact. I will give you an update tomorrow.
@hanshotfirst77 Sorry about the MC and BC delays, but September isn't that far!! Glad you have a plan.
@jennifer_louise Sorry about your delays with the saline and the 1 year mark Unrelated, but I love bluegrass music so much. I am pretty loyal to a few tried and true groups and havent branched out much.
@mokay19 No advice about the hysterectomy. Question for you, is this an exploratory procedure for your PCOS? I hope BC goes smoothly.
Diagnosis (if you've been): None yet
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Saline US tomorrow and waiting for labs to come back.
How are things going?: I have a history of fibroids so a little curious what they will find tomorrow at the US. I wish MH could be there but TW
We dont have relatives nearby to watch my 2.5yo and the clinic asks prefers no children out of sensitivity for other patients. So I am basically on my own for all of my IF appointments.
Any questions?: Nope
GTKY: what is something you want to do before summer is over? Lose the weight I gained over the winter, haha! TW

@bobbyflies2020 no, I had a saline sonogram show some “unusual tissue” so we’re going to investigate further. I’m not sure, but I don’t think a hysteroscopy would correlate to PCOS since it’s looking at the uterine lining. I’ve had a couple losses so the RE wants to see if it’s something going on inside my uterus.
@misshelen86 are you saying they have a wait until October for just a regular internal ultrasound? Because that seems ridiculous... unless that’s the wait to be seen by a new doctor. Seems long.
@inthewoods23 are you on BC until the transfer in September ish?
@chichiphin that’s a good follicle and lining! Glad you have the IUI scheduled to bypass the CM!
@misshelen86 Wow October? Is that just a normal U/S, that wait time does seem unusually long.
@inthewoods23 It seems like the BC times can vary based on doctor and protocol. But also for me, the first 3 weeks of BC are because of my loss and not wanting to rely on my period (PCOS, when unmediated my AF can take forever or not at all). So RE wants to give my ute some time to chill. The second round of BC is more for the IVF reasons, and my nurse was pretty sure it might be on the lower end since I would have been on it for so long already but I always end up being on the shitty end of statistics so I'm not counting on it or anything lol. But here's to hoping! Fx for your FET in Sept!
@bobbyflies2020 Fx for your saline sono tomorrow! Hope all is well!
@inthewoods23 FX for your FET! Glad you got your supplements all sorted out.
@bobbyflies2020 GL with the u/s! That sucks that you have to go to all the appointments alone, although I understand why they have that rule!
@mokay19 and @hanshotfirst77 Yes this is just a baseline regular internal ultrasound. My Dr wanted me to get this before being referred to an RE.
Me: 35 DH: 35 TTC since 9/2018
Dx: MFI 10/19- First RE visit 2/20- DH had surgery for bilateral varicoceles 7/20- IUI with 5 mg letrozole- BFN 9/20- IVF. 9 eggs retrieved, 9 mature, 8 fertilized with ICSI, 7 blasts, 4 PGT-A normal 11/20- Mock transfer/ERA 12/20- FET #1- transferred one 4AB- BFN 3/21- FET #2- transferred one 3AB- BFP! Due Dec 2021 12/21- Baby girl born!
@misshelen86 I would be frustrated about October too! I hope you can get it sooner, but that's great YH is moving forward with testing. Hope that gives you some answers.
@chichiphin that has been my experience with OB vs RE so far too!! When I called the RE I immediately got to talk to an actual human and one of her first questions was what cycle day I was. I was like FINALLY, THESE ARE MY PEOPLE. lol
@inthewoods23 I sincerely hope your summer goal gets accomplished (:
@BusinessWife thanks, friend. 💜 Like @emeraldduchess I'm actually supremely curious to see how things are looking in the ol ute. 😂
@inthewoods23 enjoy your vacation!!! I also want you to have a successful FET this summer @misshelen86 yuck - october! do you know for certain if a consult visit to an RE requires an OB referral after calling your insurance? @ruby696 I'm anxiously awaiting your IVF as well lol. Maybe a short camping trip is in order once you have an IVF schedule!
So many appointments this week!
@chichiphin Good luck with the IUI!!
@ruby696 Hope you OB appointment goes well. MH does that too. He wanted to TTA, but we DTD yesterday and I have EWCM today... I didn’t want to wait anyway!
@bobbyflies2020 I hope your procedure goes well and all is clear!
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): US / BW at the OB on Thursday
How are things going?: a little less anxious today... my hair is still falling out in clumps though.
Any questions?: nope, still in a fog
GTKY: what is something you want to do before summer is over? Print out and frame pictures, use my canvas vouchers, and maybe get my wedding video done since our third anniversary is coming up
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
@chichiphin I’m glad your appointment went well and you’re all set for the IUI! this might be tmi, but how do they test your CM? I’ve always wondered if mine is “hostile”, especially since I haven’t cut out coffee and other acidic / crappy foods. Glad to hear your folly and lining are looking good!!!
@emeraldduchess I hope everything looks good on Thursday!! I wish I could help with tips on the ultrasound but I’ve never had a saline one. I’m still so sorry for what happened but I am happy your RE is running more tests.
@hanshotfirst77 FX your numbers are low so you can move forward + make your plan!
@jennifer_louise I’m so sorry about the year mark ❤️. It’s so hard and it is unbelievable once you get to that point and beyond. I’m also sorry your OB is being a butt and not returning your calls. Fx they are able to refer you quickly and you can get that additional testing! It seems like doctors really drag their feet and I don’t know why- especially when certain tests need to happen at certain times.
@mokay19 I don’t have any advice, but good luck with the hysteroscopy! I hope the recovery time isn’t too bad.
@bluetickgal yay for making an RE appointment! Will it be your first time?
@inthewoods23 I hope you and YH are able to get some much deserved r&r this week! I’m glad you were able to figure out the new supplements.
@misshelen86 I think I missed this while benched and being a bad lurker- do they suspect YH has varicoceles? Feel you on the sitting and waiting- sometimes that’s all IF is. That seems crazy that you can’t get your ultrasound for 3 months- is it a really small practice or something?
@bobbyflies2020 I hope your US goes well tomorrow and has minimal discomfort! When did they say they’d get your labs back? I have no idea what that method is but it sounds hilarious 😂
@ruby696 ohhh husbands. Welcome to the TWW haha. I am so excited about your consult next week!!
@NYTino24 I hope everything goes well on Thursday ❤️ I’m glad you’re feeling a little less anxious.
@b_1029 nope not TMI! we have to have sex the day before, and then they basically do everything they'd do for a PAP smear... but just swab with a q tip thing and then look under a microscope to see how the sperm are doing near your cervix. Mine was "poor" because the sperm were basically dead and not moving even though I'm very close to ovulating
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): on our own, RE appointment next Wednesday and then will start letrozole and who knows what else right now
How are things going?: ok. I’ve been pretty down for a while, I feel like IF is casting a dark shadow over everything else in my life and it’s hard to see the good that I do have right now. My parents are coming this weekend and my cousins are coming the next, so I’m excited to have something to look forward to.
Any questions?: any idea what to expect at this appt next week? I’m bringing DH but we’ve already done the initial consult...I guess just talking about a treatment plan in more depth than before since it’s real this time?
GTKY: what is something you want to do before summer is over? I’m with @emeraldduchess , clean/ organize my dang house! Also, I’ve had these bar stools that a friend’s mom gave us when they redid their basement since we moved in 2.5 years ago... I NEED to figure out how to refinish / reupholster (any tips welcome) them before the end of summer so we can get rid of our crappy stools In the kitchen.
@chichiphin huh interesting. I would be curious to know if our RE would consider doing that test, definitely something I could ask at the appt next week. Sorry about the poor lil guys but I’m glad you’re bypassing the issue with the IUI!
@b_1029 I think there is some controversy on what a PCT actually shows... but if you don't have major MFI issues, and you're ovulating yet sperm are dying at your cervix, it seems to make sense to know this before deciding between TI and IUI! I also don't think its a massively expensive test to do, especially if you're already there for an ultrasound and bloodwork.
@ruby696 GL with the consult! Can’t wait to hear how it went.
@chichiphin Yes I do need a doctor to refer me. I’m hoping I can either move up the ultrasound or she can just refer me before I get it done.
@NYTino24 Hope the testing goes well this week. Glad you are feeling less anxious today. Is your hair falling out due to anxiety?
@b_1029 DH has low count, motility and morphology. The Dr. Examined him and didn’t think he had varicoceles but still wanted to rule it out. Crazy that he got in so quickly for his procedure and I have to wait months. I’m going to a clinic that is supposed to have better wait times. I’m waiting to hear back if I can get in any sooner. I’m sorry to hear that you are going through such a hard time with all this. Do you have anyone (besides us) that you can talk to about it? Glad you have family visiting to look forward to. Huge hugs
Me: 35 DH: 35 TTC since 9/2018
Dx: MFI 10/19- First RE visit 2/20- DH had surgery for bilateral varicoceles 7/20- IUI with 5 mg letrozole- BFN 9/20- IVF. 9 eggs retrieved, 9 mature, 8 fertilized with ICSI, 7 blasts, 4 PGT-A normal 11/20- Mock transfer/ERA 12/20- FET #1- transferred one 4AB- BFN 3/21- FET #2- transferred one 3AB- BFP! Due Dec 2021 12/21- Baby girl born!
@b_1029 yes, this will be our first visit. Got the welcome packet in the mail last week, and spent probably an hour yesterday filling out all the forms! I’m anxious to see what they will want to do, I’m guessing a SA & HSG (the forms asked if we had already had those and we haven’t). I’ll probably be past mid-cycle at the time of our appointment, so I’m guessing I’ll at least have to wait for the HSG. I don’t know if I’ll ovulate on Metformin alone though, and I don’t think the OB is planning to give me another round of Femara, so I guess it’s just a wait and see game! We are both planners, so I think we will have some peace of mind once we go to the initial eval and see what the next steps are! I’m sorry you have been down, IF is so hard and I definitely get it being a dark shadow! Hopefully you will have a good RE appointment next week and get a plan of action as well! Was your initial eval mostly just getting to know the RE and asking/answering questions?
@bluetickgal oooo the paperwork- fun! Have you had any bloodwork yet? The SA and HSG were the next steps for us. I understand having peace of mind after making a plan- I’m def a planner too! Yep, that pretty much sums up my first appt. We went over everything that was covered in the paperwork, I asked some questions, and got a general idea of a plan. However she benched us because DH had gone to Cuba the month before, so I haven’t had any contact with her or appts since then.
@b_1029 oh yeah, I’m just glad they sent it ahead of time so I could get it done at home! I did bloodwork with the OB to confirm PCOS, but nothing since other than progesterone/HCG tests. I marked yes for doing all the recommended tests with the RE, so I’m guessing they will do blood draws that first visit for those? Thanks for the insight on the first appt. That stinks you got benched, but glad that’s almost over! Had you been on letrozole before? It has worked to make me ovulate, where Clomid did not (although I was only on the lowest dose). My RE’s website only mentions Clomid, but I’m hoping he will continue femara/letrozole since it works for me!
@b_1029 I hope you have a nice trip with your family. It’s hard to try to focus on anything else besides TTC. @inthewoods23 How is your vacation going? I think what you’re talking about is Seasonique. My doc wanted to put me on it due to heavy bleeding and I declined, choosing to stay on my BC but skipping placebos. You’re right about not needing AF for any medical reason. @misshelen86 October is a long wait! Can you go elsewhere? It drives me nuts since they only take a few minutes! No, my hair is falling out due to the hormone drop. *TW loss mentioned* It also happened with my first miscarriage and PP. */TW*
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
@mokay19 I'm on BC now through the 16th, then I start it up again a week later on the.... 23rd? Something like that. I start Lupron again on 8/8.
Also, I'm gonna be real POed if the lupron isn't covered now. It required pre-approval which thankfully got worked out this morning with the nurse (my cell reception is spotty) but I got a call from our prescription insurance saying they've denied it! So what does this mean? I have to pay full price?

@inthewoods23 call the prescription insurance and ask specifically why. It may be something stupid like needing to write a certain number of days worth of lupron etc. hopefully someone gives you answers
@chichiphin yeah I plan on doing that tomorrow morning. Their voicemail said they would be sending a letter with an explanation as well as how to appeal if I feel I need to. I'm not going to see the letter until I get home so I'll call. Thankfully I don't need this until next month so even if I don't take care of it until I get back it's not a problem to push out when the meds get delivered.

@chichiphin woman warrior! I hope Wednesday goes well!!
@emeraldduchess I’m so sorry for your loss. ❤️ I’m glad that your doctor is looking into more potential roots now, but I wish these drs would listen more the first time. As far as the saline, I popped a Motrin ahead of time, too. I remember feeling some cramping, but I also had a blocked tube. I don’t remember it being too big of an issue later. I think I did spot because he did need to use a speculum. For me, the shock of having something wrong was the worst part of it. I know that I went into testing for IF, but I guess I was still in denial. I hope all the testing goes well for you and YH.
@hanshotfirst77 sorry for all the waiting, but I’m glad you’ve got your plan! I hope you’re able to move things along on the sooner end of the plan!
@jennifer_louise 12 calls?? Geez. I wish they were more responsive! Could your general dr make the referral instead? So sorry about having to wait because of them. So frustrating! And I hear you on the flashbacks. I’m doing the same thing over here. Hugs!
@mokay19 Regarding the hysteroscopy, I’m surprised to hear that you’re going under for it. I only took Motrin ahead of time, had it done and they did an endometrial biopsy within maybe 5-10 minutes? I was kind of disappointed by it because I thought I would get to see down the tubes, but it just looked in my uterus, which had some polyps. I had had no idea what those looked like before. Pain wise, no issues that I remember other than a little spotting. I hope it all goes well!
@bluetickgal hi! I hope you won’t need that appointment, but it’s nice that you’ve got the wheels turning! Ugh, and those forms! I think I took days, maybe a week with them. So intimidating for me, but at least it brings everything to mind so that the dr has all the info to help!
@inthewoods23 I’m glad you’ve got those supplements under control now. Enjoy that vacation!
@misshelen86 I really hope you work out someone being able to see you sooner! This waiting game is such a pain!
@bobbyflies2020 GL tomorrow! I’m sorry you have to be solo. I was in a similar boat, but I had mh wait in the lobby of the building (not the office) so that I didn’t have to drive myself. Well, you’re not alone in spirit at least. ❤️
@ruby696 so does that mean that you cracked the code for the right kind of referral to get this show on the road? I hope so!
@NYTino24 sorry to hear about the anxiety and your hair, but I’m glad that you’re starting to feel less anxious. I hope it keeps going that direction and that Thursday goes well! And woot, woot for getting off the bench! When is your anniversary btw? Ours is coming up on Thursday!
@b_1029 I hear you on the negative vibes. Refinish those chairs! I redid a chair that I found ...at a dumpster. It took me a while, but sanding was kind of therapeutic, and it feels good to be able to point to something and say, hey, I did that! Anyway, for your consult, I think you already did all your initial testing? Might they throw another u/s in the mix maybe? Maybe just go armed ready to ask questions about the meds you’ll be getting? I really hope the shadow lifts soon. ❤️ Yay for family visits!!
ETA my stuff Diagnosis (if you've been): endometriosis
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): benched
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): orilissa, on pack 8 of 12
How are things going?: I’m getting a little concerned since I’m starting to link cramps with dtd. I know that’s not crazy to have the pairing since I’ve got endometriosis, but I thought these meds would take care of that? I never noticed cramping in relation to anything other than af before, but maybe I was just not putting pieces together? I’ll probably end up calling the re office, but I dread it. I tried to get the sa results over the phone since mh’s submitted his sample after our final consultation. The nurse said that they probably looked fine, but would check with the dr. I never heard back, so I got mh to call to double check that no news was good news rather than they forgot about us. He talked to the receptionist who talked to the nurse who said she’d already talked to me. Apparently they never gave mh an answer and the receptionist wasn’t sure if I’m supposed to come in after I’m off the bench. So not helpful. Arghh, so I’m saving that battle for another day.
Any questions?: did everyone get actual numbers in regards to sa results, or is it sometimes just “looks fine”?
GTKY: what is something you want to do before summer is over? Not having ac, I’m ready for summer to be over, but we’re heading to the beach in a few weeks, so that!
@begging4abump my doctor said that they do MAC anesthesia so it’s like the twilight sleepiness but I won’t remember it. She said it shouldn’t take longer than 30 minutes to investigate the uterus and get some tissue. There’s a chance that it will be a D&C, too, depending on the tissue. For my DH’s SA, I requested the results. They originally told us the same of “no news is good news” but I wanted to see the numbers to compare them to his sample in 2016. They seemed to be like “whatever” when I asked for it, but they provided them.
@begging4abump your office should provide you with actual numbers. YH could call and say he wants to share them with his primary physician after he sees them. Doc offices can't withhold test results like that. @mokay19 I'm glad they provided you the results for your own comparisons!

How are things going?: Good! Monitoring appt is in an hour (CD12) and I’m very anxious to see where the follies are at and what scheduling looks like.
Any questions?: not yet... but I prob will if I have to give myself the trigger shot.
GTKY: what is something you want to do before summer is over? I really don’t feel like I’ve spent enough time at a pool this summer.

Any questions?: Not yet but I’m sure as I start IVF I will have a ton.
GTKY: what is something you want to do before summer is over?
Probably something fun and to do with water. Pool, beach, water park. Idk something. I’ve pretty much spent all summer being a depressed mess.

@chichiphin good luck at the monitoring appt and I hope the follicles showed nice growth with a good lining! I always brought my trigger shot to the doctor just in case and was lucky enough that the nurse was able to do it for me 😊
@emeraldduchess I was also excited to see a more detailed look at my uterus and tubes! Good luck with the testing this week!
@hanshotfirst77 hopefully you’ll be on the lower end of BC time. But it’s also exciting to have a plan for IVF and moving forward with it!

@emeraldduchess fx YH's SA is a little smoother this time around! also I'm so sorry about last week. I'm glad your RE is seriously looking at all possibilities
@hanshotfirst77 I'm so happy you have a plan in place.
@BusinessWife thank you!!

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Saline US tomorrow and waiting for labs to come back.
How are things going?: I have a history of fibroids so a little curious what they will find tomorrow at the US. I wish MH could be there but TW

@mokay19 No advise on the hysteroscopy, but good luck and I hope you have an easy recovery.
@hanshotfirst77 So happy that you have a plan!!

My parents are coming this weekend and my cousins are coming the next, so I’m excited to have something to look forward to.

Huge hugs

*/TW*

Also, I'm gonna be real POed if the lupron isn't covered now.

For my DH’s SA, I requested the results. They originally told us the same of “no news is good news” but I wanted to see the numbers to compare them to his sample in 2016. They seemed to be like “whatever” when I asked for it, but they provided them.
@mokay19 I'm glad they provided you the results for your own comparisons!
