    • How far along / EDD? 35 weeks and 4 day/ EDD 7/25 BUT scheduled c-section for This THURS 6/27!!!
    • How is everyone feeling this week? Nauseous, nervous, wish I couldve pushed it back to next week 7/1 but my doctor said she can’t medically approved it bc i already had one bleed.
    • Upcoming appointments? Today ... weekly and FINAL check up before c-section.
    • Questions? My hip is KILLING ME!!!! I cry in the middle of the night I know I only Have 4 days left but you think she may prescribe me something stronger than Tylenol for the last few days?? like I’m in agony!
    • GTKY: what is your favorite way to deal with the heat? I’ve been on bed rest in the a/c these last few weeks lol.

TRYING so hard to get baby’s room ready we’re almost there. My mirror was backordered and I need my H to hang the curtain rods today. And i need to get a few small air plants and things for his moon shelf. Here’s what we had so far. I know the first few months he’ll be in the our bedroom bassinet but I wanted his room to be ready as I’m sure after he gets here I won’t have the time or motivation to do it.

  • Options
@ndz2018 the room looks adorable!! Eep thursday!! gosh that is exciting. as for the hip pain, can you go swimming or soak in a deep tub? sometimes that helps little one shift and gives some relief... or even a chiropractor... I also find sleeping with an ice pack can help.

@wabash15 I’ve tried heat, ice, bath .... my OB isn’t a big fan of Chiros... i feel like Advil would help SO MUCH! I’ll see what she says today. My guess is she'll Probably tell me to suck it up for 3 more days

Sometimes they will prescribe tylenol with codeine if you do have really intense pain. Sometimes. It's not super recommended but you only have a few days left.

@babydust2507 no I didn't wash things... or maybe just a few items... its so hard to know exactly how big the baby will be and how long they will use something so I liked the option of being able to return it.. plus its a ton of laundry.

@ndz2018 Ahh can’t believe your eviction date is so close!! How are you feeling?! Are your hospital bags packed?!

Don’t forget the nipple cream and/or shields and take a few extra onesies. The PP hospital stay felt like an eternity, so take anything that you think will help for you or baby. Eg, nursing pillow or boppy lounger.

Our nurses were nazis about not sleeping with baby on chest due to fall risk so we were at our wits end when baby wouldn’t sleep in the bassinet. If you’re at your wits end, ask the nurses for help. We had one nice nurse who took the baby for a walk and brought her back swaddled and asleep!

I have my Boppy packed but you think I should pack the boppy lounger too? If I didn’t bring something or forgot to pack something or need some extra stuff we love less than 10 min from the hospital and between my mom and Joe someone will run back and get what I need.

It’s great to see all the healthy and strong babies that have arrived since May. Congrats to all the new moms. Hopefully everyone is finding what works best for baby and yourself.
@ndz2018 your baby will be out in no time and understand how you feel.. my little guy was in the nicu for 2 wks. Those nicu nurses are truly blessings!!

Since the arrival of my littler Avery time has been very limited. Hence, my lack of presence on here. He’s almost 2 mons and I’m finally starting to have a little bit of a routine but still some ways to go. I’ve given up on breastfeeding since he goes from 0-100 in 5 seconds and has a mild tongue tie. I do pump and supplement since I also don’t make enough for this hangry little guy. I’ve tried the teas, fenugreek, lactation cookies & oatmeal. Nothing works and I’m accepting that and will be trying to wean him off breastmilk and just do formula after 2 mons. I’m too exhausted and one boob easily gets clogged even though I don’t produce a lot.
  • Options
What a treasure @ndz2018!! He’s a little fighter so I’m sure he’ll be breathing unassisted soon and he’ll be in your arms.

I was going to wish you best of luck with nursing and pumping, but to also caution that it’s a huge uphill battle and to be kind to yourself if it’s too challenging. It sounds like @mrsyng also experienced difficulty and I imagine it’s overlapping with a baby in nicu which may be overlapping with low milk.

I didn't have a nicu baby, but had to start supplementing early due to jaundice. I also had a c section which is said to be related to slow/low milk production. Like @mrsyng, I’ve tried all the things to increase milk production, even the prescription Raglan. I’m still lucky to produce 1 oz of milk across both boobs in a single pumping session. In short, it’s a major bitch for little payoff and i don’t know how sustainable pumping will be in the long run. I’ve dealt with all the emotions around this and social comparisons to other women’s supply. It hasn’t been fruitful so I just wanted to give you that heads up. Be kind to yourself and what’s most important is a fed, healthy baby!

were coming up on one month on Tuesday! We weighed Lucy on our kitchen scale and she seems to be up to 8lbs 4oz (about .5 lb per week).

@ndz2018 Congrats!!! he is beautiful. How is he doing now? how are you doing?

@mrsyng and @northbeach3 BF is one of the hardest things I have ever done. I know some don't like the phrase but fed really is best. Do what you need to for your health/sanity/family and screw anyone who makes you feel guilty for how you choose to feed your kid.

@northbeach3 baby girl is getting big! Good job mama!
As far as me, at my last appointment on Tuesday, we found out that my LO turned again and he's now breech, so I have a csection scheduled for next Tuesday and another check up on Monday to see if he will turned again before csection. I lost my mucus plug yesterday and bloody show this morning so labor is around the corner and I may not make it till Tuesday but we keep you all posted
  • Options
    @ndz2018 OMG he’s adorable! Congrats!

@northbeach3 those eyes! Thank you for sharing.

@mrsyng mom guilt is so hard. Fed is best and there is not judgment here. Newborn care is no joke and you have to take care of yourself and your LO.

My LO showed up early this past weekend! I still have yet to type up the birth story with all the details but that will come. We also had to start supplementing  because he (team green turned blue!) lost 10% of his body weight and they didn’t want it to get worse. We are using a syringe but even with that I’m seeing some nipple aversion so it’s been hard.
  • Options
@blackhottamales CONGRATS!! hang in there, those first few days and weeks of nursing can be challenging. Seeing an LC as often as you need can be a huge help. BF is one of the hardest things I've ever done. It seems like it is the most natural thing in the world but there is a huge learning curve for both mom and baby. All that being said fed is what matters so don't feel guilty about supplementing or if you switch to formula all together. Do what is best for you and  your family.
@babydust2507 Have  you looked into spinning babies or webster chiropractic to help get the baby to turn?

@wabash15 thank you. Yes I scheduled a consultation for Monday and I look forward to it.
  • Options
@blackhottamales oh my gosh!! Congrats on the baby boy!! Our LO lost 13% bc of jaundice and that’s when supplementing started. I’m still trying to up my milk supply so we’re only at 25% breast milk and 75% formula. But baby girl regained by week two and went from 31% to 48%. If your nipples get sore or your baby starts preferring bottle nipple, my LC recommended using a nipple shield. It was a lifesaver and baby easily transitions btw breast and bottle. LC also recommended a slightly larger shield size to help baby develop a wider latch. Now baby is a BF pro and I don’t have any nipple pain.

@babydust2507 your day has finally come!! I hope baby turns before c section but if not, the c section was totally do-able and recovery wasn’t bad at all. Best of luck!!!

Congrats @babydust2507, @blackhottamales and @ndz2018! @ndz2018 hope you’re nicu Time was shorter than ours and that you’re home now. I know that heartbreaking feeling seeing them all hooked up with the cpap and feeding tube. Our stories were so similar with the previa and all. Sending hugs!
