I wish I had a good answer for this question... It's not really a tradition but one of my favorite times at Christmastime is going together as a family to pick out our tree, then decorating the tree together. MH and I always drink wine and eat cookies, and I'm excited to include the kids in that as well (minus the wine for them.. ha). DS enjoyed it last year but didn't really understand too much but I think this year he might understand Christmas more so I'm looking forward to that. Also MH and I are pretty into Halloween and we make a pretty big deal about that entire month, scary movies, pumpkin carving, haunted houses, ghost stories, trick or treating. I hope DS and this baby eventually enjoy it as much as we do. MH is reallllly hoping for a Halloween baby for us, lol.

Husband and I aren't big fans of most holidays...we're planning to start our own Christmas tradition that's less focused on presents and religion and more focused on family and giving. We'll see how that goes, haha!

My mom would always let us play hooky for the day to go into the city to see Santa. The real Santa was always the one that was in Macy's Herald Square. We would shop, eat, lunch, look at the Macy's window displays and called it girls day out. We haven't been able to do it as much with scheduling and such but would love to continue this tradition going forward. ALSO always, stop whatever we are doing at 12:00pm Thanksgiving to listen to Alice's Restaurant. 😁
@ABabyMarshall good luck at your appointment on Wednesday, sorry you haven’t been able to kick the infection yet. Hopefully the next round of antibiotics does the trick.

My DH gets a 4-day weekend. He work 6 days a week out of town so we only get to see him 1.5 days out if every week. So 4-days is a gift! We’re going to Oregon for 3 days to relax and veg out and do some tax-free baby shopping😆.

Every year, the day after Thanksgiving, we go to our local tree farm to pick out our tree we’ve been going since DD1 was a year old (she’s now 13). The kids love it, then we go home and watch Christmas movies and decorate
@alaluap Happy Canada Day!!
@ABabyMarshall I hope your infection finally gets kicked, and good luck at the anatomy scan! The Santa in Herald Square was legit. I want to take DS there one day!

We have a few holiday traditions around Christmas but nothing big that comes to mind. My family has always been big on traveling and we plan to continue that with our kids. I want them to experience new places and things like I did. After living in Europe for 3 years, DS is the most well traveled 3 to I know. I just wish he'd remember more of his experiences hes had so far!
up closer to home where he can be home every night. The company rents him and his crew a house, and provides per diem, and a van so we can’t complain and they’ve always treated him well. His schedule should go back to 5 days soon so at least he’ll have a weekend which will be nice.
GTKY: Any fun family traditions you plan to carry on with your LO? Holiday related or otherwise. I can't think of any of our traditions right now other than having a family Christmas party when we put ornaments on the tree. We bake cookies and listen to Christmas music. The kids love it!
GTKY: Any fun family traditions you plan to carry on with your LO? Holiday related or otherwise. Our town does a big 3rd of July celebration instead of the 4th. Everyone sets off fireworks on the beach and has parties up and down the street, so it’s a blast. I’m hoping my son isn’t scared this year and can enjoy the show, it was always my favorite night of the year growing up!
GTKY: Any fun family traditions you plan to carry on with your LO? Holiday related or otherwise. A lot to be honest. We have a Fall festival every year that life revolves around for a little while, so I'm excited about that. And all things Thanksgiving and Christmas!

MH and I love Halloween & Thanksgiving so definitely want to do that big! We're really excited about having huge Passover seders with our LO.
Rant: There is so much I can't do being on bedrest! Would love to take a mini-break, or even just do some gardening outside! But I can't. Trying to stay positive and focus on the amazing things happening inside of me. And be excited that we've made it this far. I have been told that pregnancy wouldn't be possible for me, and we were almost ready to give up. I'm grateful every day to have this experience...as hard as it is..

My extended family does a big Christmas every year...usually at least 20 of us, sometimes more. Usually we rent a big house somewhere for a few days and just spend time together. I'm so so excited to have our little peanut join this year!
GTKY: Any fun family traditions you plan to carry on with your LO? Holiday related or otherwise. Birthday traditions are fresh on the mind (oldest’s is tomorrow) so I’ll go with those. We do birthday breakfast (funfetti waffles or pancakes), a room full of balloons, movie and favorite restaurant for dinner. It’s so fun now that my kiddos are picking up that we do it every year and really look forward to it!

Checkup with my OB tomorrow, FINALLY have my anatomy scan next week.
Fine mostly. Hungry all the time again. And having what I'm guessing is RLP everytime I sneeze, so that's cool.
I'm finally training my replacement so I can start my new job (same company, different department), that I got over 2 months ago, yay! It's amazing how long it takes these people to do anything. Shes doing really well so far, but I'm kinda bummed I'm leaving. I told that area supervisor to get me to day shift and I'd stay, but no luck. Oh well, their loss.
And 4 day weekend for the 4th!!
Questions:
None that I can think of right now.
GTKY: Any fun family traditions you plan to carry on with your LO? Holiday related or otherwise.
Um, I can't really think of any. My grandparents do a huge Easter egg hunt for Easter with all the neighbors, and it's always a blast, so I guess that would really be it for fun traditions. Other than that, every other holiday is pretty standard "try to split the time between my family and his and eat waaaayyyyy too much food" lol
GTKY: Any fun family traditions you plan to carry on with your LO? Holiday related or otherwise. I always got a new pair of pajamas on Christmas Eve and even though my mom doesn't give them to me anymore I still buy myself a new pair. There will definitely be matching mommy and me pj's moving forward!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
GTKY: Any fun family traditions you plan to carry on with your LO? Holiday related or otherwise. We always bake cookies together for Santa and read The Night Before Christmas. Christmas is my favorite time of year. I love decorating the tree together. Last year we made Christmas ornaments Together I thought that was fun. My son even has his own baby Christmas tree for his room.

I was raised Catholic and my husband is Jewish, so we have a lot of blending going on. My husband leans more toward Christian traditions (his parents always had a Christmas tree), so the biggest tradition we are going to continue is the Lithianian Christmas Eve celebration, Kučios. It's something I grew up with and I can't wait to share with our little boy.
