Re: PGAL Check-in w/o 7/3

  • 1. How many weeks are you? 11 weeks 😱

    2. Previous loss(es)? 6 losses. 12/13, 1/17, 11/17, 4/18, 9/18, 2/19

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Emotionally my anxiety is ramping up again. Symptoms have slowed a little so it’s making me paranoid. I am exhausted though. I’d love to just see baby or hear the heartbeat again to help reassure me.

    4. Any appointment updates? NIPT bloodwork today, mfm consult on Friday

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions? How is it almost the 2nd trimester?? I seriously can’t believe I’ve made it this far. I started pulling out the stuff we kept from ds so I could start going through and seeing what we need. I think I’m making it more real in my head this way.

    6. Any milestones coming up? I passed all my milestones. Waiting for NIPT and second tri at this point.

    7. GTKY: What is your favorite animal? Red pandas. They are so cute and they look like they are so fluffy.

  • @kbrown2385 so happy we are leaving the first trimester. My symptoms have chilled out too. I do feel uncomfortable on my stomach though so that’s some reassurance. I won’t pull out and old baby stuff until the anatomy scan.
  • @kbrown2385 I know it doesn’t do a lot for our PGAL brains, but knowing that it’s normal for symptoms to wind down at this point is at least a good mantra to keep in mind. That’s what I’m trying, anyway.

    1. How many weeks are you? 12 weeks today!

    2. Previous loss(es)? DD’s twin 2/17

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? I’m really enjoying vacation right now. We’re up in Maine with family, so I’ve been able to truly unwind. Physically I’ve had some rough GI symptoms off and on and am feeling more tightness in my belly. Also getting RLP, especially when I sneeze.

    4. Any appointment updates? Still waiting on the 7/10 appt, but now that’s next week so it no longer feels like an eon away!

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions? DD is truly embracing terrible twos with epic and random meltdowns. It’s been exhausting.

    6. Any milestones coming up? Next milestone is my 7/10 appointment and NIPT blood draw.

    7. GTKY: What is your favorite animal? I love foxes! DD’s nursery is a fox theme.
  • @kbrown2385 so close to the end of the first tri. Can't come soon enough! I'm starting to feel like this pregnancy is real and that scares me a little. I have been avoiding all the baby prep but now starting to allow myself to at least think about it!

@EmilyE13 sorry about the terrible twos! Also if you knit it know someone who does I have a red fox baby blanket pattern!

    1. How many weeks are you? 10wk 2 days

    2. Previous loss(es)? 12/18 and 4/19

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Physically starting to feel more like myself with energy and eating normal stuff. But I have enough symptoms to still comfort the PGAL brain. But definitely not enough to stop the terrible bleeding nightmares....

    4. Any appointment updates? NT scan July 10 and 12 week OB check up on July 12.

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm so ready for a vacation!

    6. Any milestones coming up? Every day at this point!

    7. GTKY: What is your favorite animal? I don't know what my favorite animal is. I guess I like dogs. But DH loves sloths so much. I think we may do a sloth nursery theme. Hoping my aunt who paints murals will come and paint one for us!
  • My symptoms have definitely gone way down.  It's just that time of pregnancy, though I know it's still scary.

@EmilyE13 - Maine is so relaxing.  We moved here almost 2 years ago, and are loving it!

    1. How many weeks are you? 10w 6d

    2. Previous loss(es)? Blighted ovum between my oldest 2 girls

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically?  I finally had my appt yesterday!  It was terrifying, but baby was happy and healthy in there, and was spinning all around.  The doc told my H to video part of the ultrasound and I cannot stop watching 😍  My symptoms really have gotten better over the last week, which is scary, so seeing baby yesterday was so reassuring.

    4. Any appointment updates?  We decided to go with my LMP date instead of how baby measured(which is closer to when I think I ovulated).  All of my girls were born after my due date, and so the OB said she would put the due date as late as possible to keep me from being pressured.

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions? Nope

    6. Any milestones coming up?  None

    7. GTKY: What is your favorite animal?  I have no idea.  I love my cat.  I guess for a non pet, I like otters.

  • @kbrown2385 11 weeks yes!!! so exciting
@EmilyE13 great that you are enjoying a relaxing time and that your next appointment is coming up soon
@MollySm awesome that H got to video tape the ultrasound and you get to enjoy watching it!! I wanted too and I wish I had but I was a bawling mess and shaking so bad I couldn't even get my phone out

    1. How many weeks are you? 14 weeks (2ND TRIMESTER!)

    2. Previous loss(es)? 9/18 & 3/19

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? I am feeling so tired, I went to bed last night at 8pm it was glorious! Nausea is for sure going down now but heartburn is making a friendly appearance now starting late afternoon until the evening. Also tossing and turning a bit a night. Emotionally I'm still nervous, I guess waiting for my next midwife appointment when im 16wks will help to hear the heart beat. I think after that I will tell people in my office if I can hide it until then!

    4. Any appointment updates? tonight I have a doula intake and the next midwife apt is on the 16th

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions? Does anyone gag when they smell their prenatal vitamins. I am having such issues taking mine its insane, just opening the lid to take one out makes me want to throw up. I will try and go out and buy some other type but seriously...

    6. Any milestones coming up? passed my previous milestones but at my midwife apt I'll get my NIPT results and hear a heart beat so I hope that goes well

    7. GTKY: What is your favorite animal? hmmm not really an animal person, I had a dog when I was younger

  • 1. How many weeks are you?
    12w5

    2. Previous loss(es)?
6/19, lost twin b this pregnancy.

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically?
This has been really hard.  I am sorry for everyone who has experienced this.  I keep feeling like there was something I did wrong.  Physically it is really hard too because I started showing earlier and my uterus moved higher very quickly.  It's hard to see the other baby on the ultrasound.

Just keep trying to tell myself something I heard, "grief is just when you have love that you want to give, but the person you love isn't there to hear you."

    4. Any appointment updates?
Had a recent ultrasound and saw the baby.

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions?
IDK...I don't think I will ever get over this.  Maybe that's not a bad thing.

    6. Any milestones coming up?
Hoping to feel more and more movement.

    7. GTKY: What is your favorite animal?
All animals.  Seriously.  When I grew up my parents were very against all animals and did not take care of our pets.  Now I am a huge animal person and vegetarian.

@ponyoisfun I know you know this but there is nothing you did wrong and it's completely fine to feel. Hang in there! Glad to hear that baby a is doing well!

    ETA: fix typo
  • @ponyoisfun I’m so sorry you’re going through this, and all your feelings are completely normal, but as @biolprof said please be reassured that you did nothing wrong.  I lost Baby B early in my first pregnancy but after seeing and hearing both heartbeats. It was really hard seeing the 2nd yolk sack in the weeks after we lost him/her. It’s also normal to feel very conflicted between excitement for Baby A’s progress while grieving the twin you lost.
  • @biolprof and @EmilyE13 Thank you for the kind words.  Hope everyone's Monday goes well.  We have only experienced one meltdown this morning...so not too bad for us yet.
  • 1. How many weeks are you? 14w ! Made it to 2nd trimiester

    2. Previous loss(es)? 1/20 3/20

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Still a bum, but a less sick bum.

    4. Any appointment updates? 7/16

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions? Nipt is back normal, im having a boy! Wanted a girl but am so greatful hes healthy.

    6. Any milestones coming up? We just announced and bought baby furniture !

    7. GTKY: What is your favorite animal? Tigers. Preferably white

Also whoever mentioned handmaids tale, you have me addicted. Watched all 3 seasons now impatiently waiting for the new episode
  • 1. How many weeks are you? 10w3d (on July 3)

    2. Previous loss(es)? 1/19

    3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? I kinda had a bad week emotionally last week, and decided to stay away. My partner and I each had too many crises going on, and I broke down. I'm OK now. My symptoms eased back, but aren't gone. I'm still not convinced things are developing down there, but I'm more relaxed about the pregnancy.

    4. Any appointment updates? 7/15, but I'm about to fire my OB

    5. Rants/Raves/Questions? The NP didn't put in my referral to perinatalology for my NIPT, and laughed it off like it was no big deal when I called inquiring. Then, she put in the referral for the anatomy scan at 18w, but not the NT or NIPT. I since haven't been able to in touch with her, and the office staff is acting as though I'm being irrational. I'm 42!!! This is a big deal, people! Id rather avoid another amnio of possible. AND, the woman banned me from the beach because of Zika that the CDC says is not present! Instead, I'm stuck floating in the ridiculously shallow lazy River at the Waterpark by my house.

    6. Any milestones coming up? I passed my big milestone this week. I miscarried naturally at 10w4d in my last pregnancy. I'm sure that's a big part of why I had a meltdown. As of this writing, I'm now 11w1d. Next milestone...Porg is still thriving on 7/15.

    7. GTKY: What is your favorite animal? I'm really a sucker for Star Wars Porgs. But, I like cats. So cliche, but I do.
  • I'm not saying it's hot in south Texas or anything, but some guy calling himself the Dark Lord just asked if he could use my backyard... Something about one ring to rule them all?
  • @FyreFlyeRush I was just thinking about you and wondering how you were doing. Glad you are feeling a bit better. Sometimes this place makes me more anxious but more than not it is comforting for me. All that is to say, I can understand why you needed to stay away for a bit. Also, your OB sounds incompetent. I don't know where you are but I saw a random OB I liked in the hill country when I miscarried in December. I can't remember the town now but it was a suburb outside of San Antonio I think.

@biolprof, problem is my OB is amazing. She's wonderful. It's hard to make the decision to leave her. It's the nurse I have an issue with, and the nurse I keep ending up seeing. I've never had an issue until this (literal) year and I've been going since 2011. It's like as soon as there was a problem in my last pregnancy, the nurse wrote me off. She kept telling me everything was fine and I was off about my dates, even when the HCG results showed a doubling time of 177(!!) days. Then, when I miscarried, she didn't want anything to do with me.
  • @FyreFlyeRush - Can you request to only see the doctor, or a different nurse? I would call and complain about that nurse. She sounds irresponsible.
Also, I live in Satan's armpit (aka, Florida), so I definitely feel your pain. I haven't been warned about Zika because there hasn't been a case in the US since 2017.
