Fit Friday 6/28

How have you met your goals this week? What do you want to work on for next week?

Re: Fit Friday 6/28

  • I did much better this week! I got out and at least walked every day.
Im  going to do a 5k tomorrow and my goal is to run some of it
  • Loading the player...
  • I was finally able to eat yogurt with berries and granola for breakfast again so I’m at least eliminating the bagel and cream cheese I was eating daily. I’d really like to work towards what I was eating on weight watchers pre-pregnancy. Losing or not gaining would be ideal this go around vs the 45lbs I gained with ds. I’m hoping to start to have enough energy to go walking in the evenings again as well.
  •  At least starting to ear more veggies again so I call that a win. I'm hopeful that next week I will add in more walks. Trying to convince DH to sign up for a 5K and I would walk while he runs. Good goal for both of us!

It makes me feel better that others are at the same boat. I've been feeling guilty because my SIL was so active and ran all the time throughout her pregnancy. I know everyone is different and she was very fit before hand but I've been basically comotose so I don't know how she did it.

I've been pretty good the whole time which I'm happy about. I either spin or lift, and workout 5 days a week. I have no food aversions so I am eating a ton of veggies still. I have been pretty relaxed about "treats" though and I have more than usual   I should be doing more kegel exercises.. that's fitness too, right? lmao :blush:

@biolprof I've been pretty comatose too. But I'm usually pretty active so even my non-active husband is like, "you should take a walk or something." Can't walk and puke honey, it's frowned upon in Singapore. Lol.

So IF my nausea is actually letting up, I hope to be back in F45 by the end of the week next week and eating more in general but more veggies and fruits. My last pregnancy I couldn't stomach anything but salad, so far i haven't gained any weight because I haven't been able to eat really. FX for a better week!
  • @biolprof I’m lucky I’m awake most of the day. I just want to sleep and be couch bound all day. I had to go grocery shopping because we were desperate for food (it’s been awhile) and I felt like napping when I got home.
  • I have done no exercise at all but there is a prenatal yoga class in the morning I will try to go to
  • Guys, I was able to run in a workout today for the first time since breaking my foot at the end of March! Yay!
  • Congrats @EmilyE13 that had to feel good!

@biolprof everyone is different. I'm lucky to not have morning sickness, so it's easy for me to work out. If you feel up to it, walk. If you don't, don't. It's hard work growing a baby!

I missed my yoga this week due to DD being sick, but still got my personal trainer in.

Okay guys, I'm easing back into this. My goal is 20 min of running/walking on the treadmill tomorrow and an F45 resistance class on Tuesday. Wish me luck. I'm still queasy.
  • I'm feeling a lot better lately. Hope I can give you late-Jan ladies some hope! I was away over the weekend but did do a 2.5 mile jog. I also did some strength/resistance type workouts at home at the end of last week. Overall feeling like myself again and exercise is feeling much more doable.
  • @Xstatic3333 This might sound weird, but how do you feel when you jog? I’m only curious because I ran a lot pre-pregnancy and now struggle to run 2 miles (have to take walking breaks) and before could do 10 no problem. I also find that it’s more difficult to breathe and stuff just hurts.

Any other runners find it very difficult now that your pregnant?

@Xstatic3333 When's your due date?? I'm hoping to feel good enough to start running and lifting again. The fatigue is real!

@blackcat01 I haven't tried running yet since getting pregnant but that's my fear, that it'll feel like my uterus is falling out and my boobs are ripping off 😂 lol
  • @mslan hahaha! Thanks for the laugh and awesome visual lol sometimes I may get a few aches around my uterus, but more than anything else, I feel like my endurance sucks and it’s difficult to breathe/get enough air. If I feel I need to stop and walk, I definitely do! I just can’t believe the sudden changes and inability to do something that I regularly did. I do hope you have more success than me and can get back into your routine!
  • @blackcat01 totally the same! I was running a lot pre-pregnancy and did a full marathon in mid-April. The farthest I’ve run lately is 4 miles, with 2.5 being a typical day. The big issue isn’t that I couldn’t go farther, but my pace has slowed by 2-4 minutes per mile so it’s harder to find the time! I think our experience is pretty typical. Lung capacity sucks right now.

@MsIan 1/6! Hope you feel better soon.
  • @Xstatic3333 Glad to know it’s pretty normal then. I’ve slowed too, probably about the same as you per mile. I was signed up for a half marathon in July and will definitely be canceling!
  • @blackcat01 I’m going to drop my September half too. There’s an associated 5k though so my goal is to still do that. Just glad to still be running at all.
  • @Xstatic3333 Good luck on your 5k and hope you will be able to run as long as possible throughout your pregnancy!
  • Kudos to everyone that is still running.  I love working out, but am totally with @MsIan that it just feels weird to do anything high impact.  I'm loving barre workouts and weightlifting right now.
  • @ponyoisfun I’ve pretty much stopped high impact workouts as well, with an exception to the occasion run, if that’s even considered high impact. I definitely don’t do any hiit workouts anymore. I should definitely look into barre workouts, I’m glad you mentioned it!
  • I admire you moms that run! I’m exhausted. My 13 month old is getting molars and it’s been awful- newborn sleep awful.
I’m trying to focus on eating healthier even though carbs are the only thing not making me want to vomit. I need to up my water intake as well.
I started doing the pregnancy workouts on Beach body. My goal is to push play 2-3 times a week. 🤞🏼
  • @clee5711 I’m not sure if what I’m doing could really be called running anymore lol it’s become such a challenge; working out in general has become such a challenge. I think I will also need to find some videos because it may help me more if I have to play something I have to follow. I’m struggling with the eating part too and hope that in the next few weeks I’ll want to eat more than just carbs as well. Good luck with your health and fitness goals!
