@lucyb1954welcome. I understand how hard it is when others are pregnant. I know like 6 people who are due between next month and January. It sucks.

I'm feeling kind of frustrated right now. I've had like 3-4 infections in the last month. Bladder infection, yeast infection and I was on antibiotics for 1 week, then during my endometrial scratch he saw a different infection and I was on strong antibiotics for 2 weeks. Now I have something else and am on antibiotic suppositories for a week. I'm so done with this! I'm wondering if it's because of all of the hormones, BCP and all of the exams! I'm trying to stay positive but it's so hard when things dobt feel right.
On another note I should be starting stims soon... just waiting on AF.

Update::
AF showed last night. Baseline US today saw at least 12 follicles, very thin lining. Expecting AF to be very light. Start stims today, estimating July 8th for retrieval. I'm on a bit of a different protocol.
1/2 syringe final daily at 8am
1/2 syringe of gonal and 3 vials of merapur at 3pm.
Hes hoping this will increase the number and quality of my eggs. After 2 days we assess.
Next appointments are thurs and Saturday.

Update: day 5 of stims. Everything is looking good. Looking at about 10 follicles 5-11mm. And about 5 smaller ones. Follicles are progressing a bit quicker than last cycle. Continuing on with same protocol. Expecting ER to probably be next Saturday july 6th.

I just started my stims last night! 300 gonal -F , 150 iu of Menopur. I will be adding in Omnitrope and cetrotide when they tell me too. I had so much anxiety leading up to my first injections...but now I think I got the first one out of the way and will be calmer.

I just had my retrieval today - 35 eggs. I feel quite sore/crampy but happy that it’s over. Tomorrow my nurse will call with the number of mature eggs and number fertilized. Wish me luck!

@andreamm31 I was pretty nervous until that first shot and then I realized it wasn’t that bad at all. I’m on the same meds 150 menopur, 150 follistim/gonal F and they added in Ganirelix on day 6 of stims- I found that needle to be pretty dull and painful BUT I iced the area just before and that took care of it! I hope the injections are still smooth sailing.

@nancinator WOW what a number!!! Wishing you a successful maturation/fertilization rate!

Today is day 10 of stims- and I feel pretty good a little bloating here and there. I had blood work and ultrasound today- quite a few follicles on both sides ranging in size 13-17 and a couple of small ones. My doctor scheduled my ER for Friday so I assume I will do my trigger shot tomorrow. Any tips/thoughts on the trigger shot- I was prescribed HCG.

@pathomer. How exciting! Its so soon! Im on day 4 of stims and feeling really tired and bloated with some abdominal cramps. Im having my first scan tomorrow morning! I can't wait to see if there are any follicles! Feeling hopeful! hopefully I will still feel that way after my appt. haha

@andreamm31 I feel very similar to you. Very tired! Which is hard because I have an online job that requires me to get up at 5.45 and I don't sleep well plus meds. Making for a hard week. I think I am still battling some kind of infection but will get the results Friday. I had day 8 scan yest everything is looking good. 17 folickes ranging from 6.5-16.5mm most around 8-14mm. Dr is now thinking Monday for my retrieval.
@andreamm31 good look at your scan tomorrow! I'm sure everything will go well! Keep us updated. I have my day 10 scan tomorrow and a decision on ER date.

@ACAC25 That is amazing you have 17 follicles! Happy to hear everything is looking good! Monday is so soon! How exciting!
My scan this morning was not what I was expecting. She only saw 3 follicles and they ranged around 9-11mm. She said possibly a 4th was cooking in there. I thought that the stim meds would help me to call up more eggs than what my typical AFC of 5 was. So to hear there are only 3 or 4 in there was so discouraging. I cried all morning. I know that everyone says its quality over quantity, but I really thought I would have double that number in there. Im feeling better as the day goes on, but really hoping by Monday there is a whole slew of eggs that suddenly appear. She estimates retrieval will be next Thursday or Friday.

Hey @andreamm31 It’s still early...stay optimistic! ER went well. I was feeling crazy ovulation pain on both sides (usually I feel it on one side) but on both sides at the same time was like ahhhhhhh! My Dr retrieved 24 eggs but we know it’s about quality not quantity so i’ll Continue to monitor the progress. B/C there were so many eggs/and my hormone levels are so high I am at risk for hyperstimulation so I’m on meds for that and I have to weigh myself daily and watch out for any sudden weight gain. I’m feeling really good though...some minor cramping here and there and very little spotting.

@andreamm31 I am so sorry to hear about your news and how upset you are. With this being my third cycle with lots of up and down news I totally understand being upset and crying. Plus the extra hormones do not help. They are right though that quality is way way better than quantity. My last cycle they retrieved 12 eggs but only 4 were of good quality (unexplained egg issue). And if I am right you are on day 7 of stims? You still have up to 7 more days to go, things can change a lot in those 7 days. It happened to me last cycle, they only saw about 6 the first few days and they retrieved 12. Try to relax and send lots of good growing vibes to your follicles! Keep us posted on how things go.

@andreamm31 my retrieval will actually be tomorrow now. I had my day 10 can on Thursday and I had 10 follicles of 18-22mm and at least 5 more between 8-14mm. He didnt want to wait until Monday in case we missed the prime window for retrieval. Hes hoping for 10-12 eggs but will retrieve anything over 14mm. I am just hoping and praying for at least 3-4 good quality eggs. We are doing a sperm donor and my doctor seems pretty confident things should work this time. But this is our third and final round in our package so I'm quite literally putting all my eggs in one basket. I'll keep you updated as I get news.

Update:
Saturday we did ER. We retrieved 14 eggs. I'm feeling pretty good. Just some discomfort but trying to get back to regular activities.
Now on day 2, Of those 14 eggs, 11 were fertilized. We have 4 of good quality with 0% fragmentation and 7 with between 5-15% fragmentation. We will be doing our transfer on Thursday and will transfer 3 embryos if we continue to have 3 good embryos. Anything with 10% fragmentation or less will be frozen.

The last few days have been pretty emotional for DH and I. It's been really hard on him, and me, to go with a sperm donor and for it to have actually been carried out now. We know it's the best thing for us and the most logical step to getting our family but DH is having a hard time with this. It hurts me to see him so hurt. I just hope in 2 weeks we get our positive and that that will change how he feels.

@ACAC25 fingers crossed for lots of great embryos!! it is very tough on the partners even if they don't always show it. and with the sperm donor aspect, i can imagine it is even more of a mental hurdle.

my nurse called me today with good news. out of the 20 fertilized eggs, 15 have made it to freeze. she did not give me any details about the embryos, just that the embryologist will choose based on its appearance and when it was frozen in relation to the rest of the embryos. i'm much more anxious about the transfer than i was about the retrieval process.

@ACAC25. that's wonderful you got so many good eggs. Hoping your transfer goes well. I know how you poor husband must feel, I am already going through those emotions now preparing myself for the possibility that we may need donor eggs down the line. Im sure as the baby is growing inside of you, he will begin to feel connected and once he/she is here, he will realize the baby is 100% his no matter what the DNA says. It will just take time to go through that grieving process.
@pathomer Im glad they were proactive with getting you on meds before you had a major OHSS episode. Hopefully each day you are feeling better and better. Any word yet on how many are growing?
@nancinator that is wonderful you have so many to freeze!! Are you PGS testing? Are you waiting for next cycle before you transfer?

As for me, we still only saw 3 follicles. My doc said that she is happy with that amount with my AMH and AFC. Apparently all these meds help the follicles to all grow at the same time and mature and be of better quality, but she said she can't get me more eggs than what my body will naturally call up....which is surprising to me. I swear I have seen other women have more follicles appear during stims than what their baseline AFC was. But I guess I just have to focus on the quality and hope that all 3 are perfect. Trigger is on Wednesday and retrieval for Friday morning. I have all my meds at this point and since I only have 3 in there, I asked if I could skip the last day of my 2 most expensive meds as I would end up wasting half the dose and they said that was ok, I just have to add an extra menopur tonight. Saved me like $800. Ultimately, with my compassionate care discount, my meds this round were $5000. Crazy to think my meds will cost $15,000 for all my cycles!

@andreamm31 - I only had 9 antral follicles and each U/S they would see a few more. By the end, they collected 24 eggs and 20 fertilized (which I am guessing means 20 were "mature"). I have seen most women double the number of eggs collected from their antral follicle count. My last U/S before egg retrieval showed 18 follicles I think....so they even found more when they went in!! Always have hope!

@andreamm31 thank you. This week has been a rollercoaster of emotions. Bring happy for the news but also so sad because my DH is hurting. I hope you are right. I'm hoping when we see a positive test and s good beta that things will start to change for him. Having 3 follicles is still good. FX that they are all great quality and produce some good embryos for you. Yeah, unfortunately they cannot change what your body will produce, my IVF 2 one ovary did not respond and we only got 2 follicles whereas my other ovary had triple that. It's so strange, this whole process really. I'll be thinking about you and hoping the retrieval goes well on Friday.

My transfer will be Thursday and we are expecting to transfer 3 good quality embryos. I will update on Thursday evening.

@andreamm31 I am anxiously awaiting my Day 5 update- which is today. As of day 3 I had 12 eggs progressing! The embryologist usually emails me btwn 9:30-10 but nothing yet! #soanxious

@nancinator 15 embryos...yayyy!!! How exciting! When are you planning on doing the FET and any idea when you start the meds to prep your body for the xfer. Also, are you doing PGS testing? We are doing both FET and PGS testing and hoping to xfer 1 embryo by September if not before! I have my post ER appt on Friday so hopefully everything is looking good and healing nicely!

My transfer was about an hour ago. We transferred 3 good embryos. 2 are rated AB and 1 ABB. They are also continuing to watch 3 that are progressing well. The development is a little behind the 3 we transferred but still looks good, if they rate AA-BB they will freeze these 3. My doctor said that there is about an 80-90% chance I should get pregnant, 25% chance of twins and 5% chance of triplets. We really want multiples (I have ever since I was very young before we knew of our infertility issues) so praying and hoping these embryos are super sticky.
I am feeling pretty good and I'm doing all the superstitious things to help ensure implantation... even though I'm pretty skeptical lol Dh and I DTD last night to prime cervix, macdonalds fries for lunch and pineapple for dessert tonight.

I am excited and hopeful, anxious overwhelmed. These are the best odds weve had but I'm overwhelmed that this is probably our last chance at this.

@andreamm31 I am so sorry to hear this! 😔 I had really hoped they were going to find some extra sneaky ones in there. Try to stay positive! It does only take one. Fingers crossed that it is fertilized and grows into a beautiful embaby. I will keep everything crossed for you.
Take the day, rest, feel sad. It's ok to feel all your feelings. But try to focus on getting through to the next step. You arent done yet!

I am hopeful for you, the Dr. can change your protocol and have better results for you if you chose to try to bank emby's. For your sake, I will pray this one makes it all the way. With one, is the dr. just going to do a fresh on day 3 maybe??

@ladyp0tter and @ACAC25. The doctor already called, the egg already fell apart and cracked and inside was not viable. So she still thinks we should go ahead with another round and see what happens. I kinda had a feeling it wasn't going to be good. I hope she has some magic up her sleeve as I have already been doing everything possible to improve my egg quality for the past 2 months....but maybe next round will be better because I will have 4 months to improve my quality as eggs need 3 months. We will see. At least I didn't spend the $2750 to ICSI it or the $1100 to cryopreserve or the $4500 for PGS testing. So I guess that saved us a little bit.

@andreamm31 I am so so sorry to hear your news. I was really rooting for a doctor miracle for you. I also had to take time to improve egg quality. I was put on a cardio workout regime and on metformin since March. Things did get a bit better for my eggs. I hope they have some good advice and protocol change for you.
I'm thinking of you, take time to heal emotionally and physically.

I would take the time to feel what you need to, heal and in the meantime do as much research and ask lots of questions as to what can done to improve your egg quality! Sending positive vibes your way and I’m glad you can remain optimistic...you didn’t spend $ on ICSI, freezing and PGS!

@pathomer 3 day 5 embryos is GREAT! hooray!! September will be here in no time too.
Of the 15 I got, 5 were frozen on day 5, 9 frozen on day 6, and 1 frozen on day 7. I'm planning on a "natural" FET end of this month - I have to do loads of morning monitoring and bloodwork to track the LH Surge. So I'm not taking any meds prior to the transfer except ovidrel to trigger and then progesterone suppositories day of and after transfer. didn't do any testing on them because everything is OOP so I liked the sound of saving several thousand $ and my doctor said due to my age, it wasn't necessary... but I do sort of wish I knew the genders of all the embryos which would happen with testing.

@ACAC25 80-90% chance!! Wow. Where does that percentage come from? Clinic statistics? Age? I'm wondering the same for me. I should have asked my doctor but I feel like so much of it is pure luck. I'm so anxious/excited for you! Update us soon! x

@nancinator thank you. I think the numbers come from clinic statistics. I think they have an 85% success rate of live birth with 3 rounds and this is my third. To be honest the numbers make me feel very overwhelmed. I feel a bit excited and hopeful but at the same time terrified. I am so afraid that it wont work. My doctor even said that if it doesnt work it's not worth transferring the two frozen embryos. But DH and I have decided on a plan for if we do or do not get pregnant and it does include transferring the frozen ones. It's very hard for me to see past the next week and not see or think of myself as pregnant but I think it's a defence mechanism because if I'm not I have to face that fact that I probably never will be pregnant and we embark on a whole new journey to start our family.
I am feeling ok and despite everything I wrote still fairly calm. DH and I talked about our A, B, C plan last night at dinner so that's good. I am 3dpt today, my boobs hurt and I am peeing a lot but tbh I know these arent pregnancy signs but I think from the trigger shot because they started about 2 days after I triggered.

@acac25 @pathomer @nancinator @ladyp0tter thank you so much for all your support. I felt better once my husband and I went through all our options and scenarios. I feel better overall and know that things can always be different on the next cycle. But I think mentally we are prepared for anything for the next cycle. We decided if next time we are faced with a similar very low number, we might convert to an IUI or do a fresh transfer if the eggs are looking iffy before day 5. Also we realize that if the next one has a similar poor quality eggs, we won't go for the 3rd retrieval, but do a donor egg cycle instead so we stop wasting money on my crappy eggs. if my goal is to have a baby, I have to let go of the fact that it might not be my own genetic child. I will be fortunate to still be able to carry a baby and experience that blessing. So we are pretty realistic and I think being sensible and will give it one more shot so we have no regrets.

@andreamm31 this is such a difficult thing. I am glad you are feeling a little better after discussing things with your husband. I also find that having A, B and C plans very helpful in making this process bearable. If you do decide to fo donor eggs just make sure to talk a lot and dont bottle up your feelings and fears. We have learned that the hard way. But things get better after we talk.

I'm currently 5dpt. My boobs are still sore and I'm peeing more than usual. I'm not sure if I'm reading into things or if it's still trigger or what. My beta isnt until Saturday and I wont be testing until Saturday morning. The problem I'm facing right now is I cant sleep. All my worry, thoughts and fears seem to come as soon as my head hits the pillow.

Ladies I need help. I dont feel the greatest today.
I feel like DH and I have been going along with the assumption that this is going to work this time and that I will be pregnant. Also, the doctor really thinks that the donor has solved our infertility problems. But today I just have a bad feeling. Like I feel like it didnt work. I just feel sad. And I cant wait for Saturday (POAS and beta day) but at the same time I'm terrified for it to be Saturday. I'm so afraid that this wont have worked and this will all be over.

I'm 6dpt and I dont feel as though anything is changing. No symptoms (which I know doesnt really mean anything at this point). But my boobs feel a bit less sore than they have been.

Tell me I'm not crazy.

@ACAC25 you’re not crazy! I feel like it would be strange to not feel nerves/fear/stress during the TWW. I know I’ll be buzzing with anxiety soon and sleep will be tough. Hope you are focusing on self care and finding comfort in the fact that you’re not alone ❤️

@nancinator thank you so much. I really needed to hear that. I think one of the big problems is I'm not busy enough. I cant work right now because we live in a foreign country for my husbands work so I am left to think all day.
I just need today and tomorrow to go by so that I can find out Saturday. One way or the other.
Do you know when your FET will be yet?
