We are headed to the beach this week, so I will try not to complain as I enter all of my appointments from my last month that I have not added into our system for Goal Tracking. 1 meeting entered... 49 more to go.
@klmcguire We’re also taking advantage of this holiday week and getting out of work. Kind of a nice week- one of my main jobs is purchasing products and there’s barely any shipping to do this week, so pretty easy! I’m really enjoying my side job of teaching yoga classes, and that seems to be picking up a bit. DH and I will probably strategize about next steps to leave our current jobs on our getaway this week with DD, as we always do. Both good and bad for vacation!
@cpk3535 Its bad when I already feel the impending doom of returning from vacation in 6 days lol. Like how much am I going to hate my life again sitting back in front of my computer. We always have the what we need to do to start saving more and spending so much while we are on vacation... Then we go upstairs get dressed and spend a crap ton on a seafood dinner.
I have vacation next week and I too am trying really hard to not worry about how horrible it will be when I return. I am frustrated because I have to go in a few hours on Friday (my day off) or I am not paid for the 4th. Normally, I would say screw it and use a vacation day and enjoy the extra long vacation, but I am hoarding as much time as I can. Otherwise, I have jury duty this week, which I thankfully haven’t been called in yet, but it is super stressing me out because I feel like I have to worry and prepare for not being at work even more.
Things are slow this week--holiday week, after all. Happy that when I checked my payroll, they've officially entered in the increase, so I'll be seeing that in the next paycheck.
Coworkers are sweet and have been brainstorming with me on how to pump without having to clock out, so I don't lose that time. So far, the two best ideas seem to be either getting some kind of sheet/screen for my cube (our cubes are 6 feet tall, so only REALLY tall people would be able to see over it), or using a spare office we have and putting up a screen/sheet there. That one might be trickier, it's our "remote office," so when the execs need to work from our location, they pop into that one. But most days, it's empty, so I could potentially put up a sheet in the glass door looking out into the hallway and remote into my own computer and keep working while pumping. The tricky part comes in when an exec needs it...and you never know when they'll be in our location, they don't tell us. But, solutions are being thought of, so that's good. Sad it has to come to this, but happy I have supportive coworkers who are willing to act as a lookout if needed.
Looking forward to a vacation coming up in a couple weeks. We're heading to Chincoteague, so I'm looking forward to some quiet time and lots of seafood with DH.
My boss just called me into her office and told me I could bank hours for maternity leave, which is awesome. I am supposed to work 30 hour weeks, but often go over a few and can bank them.
We had inventory last week, Friday-Monday they updated our computer system and we have a short week again this week for the holiday. So I am only working 2 days both weeks. It's a forced vacation so I feel torn about it. We are not getting paid for the time off they took and I'm out of vacation hours from being so sick during the first part of my pregnancy. But I am happy to have the mental break. Especially with it being so darn hot out!
3 day week for me and I’m leaving early tomorrow because traffic is a nightmare. Super fun to live in a place where people like to take summer vacations. My 40 minute commute has been averaging an hour lately...
